Jagan’s decision on capital hits parties, regions

Share

Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy’s statement on having three capitals for the state and the recommendations of the G N Rao committee in its favour, is creating tremors in the state. The Rayalaseema and Uttarandhra regions are celebrating the statement, while a section of people from coastal region are opposing it.

It is not just people and regions, the statement had traumatised even the political parties. The top leaders of TDP and BJP are already divided in support of their regions. The leadership of the CPI and the CPM too are in trouble. The CPI had opposed the decision while the CPM is yet to take a call. However, the leaders in these parties representing the three regions are divided lot now.

It is just for the Cabinet to take a call on the issue on December 27 to see the political parties really having the big trouble. The leaders are waiting for the government to make an official statement on the capital issue after discussion in the cabinet meeting. The TDP leaders, led by former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, have welcomed the three capitals decision of Jagan, while another TDP senior leader K E Krishna Murthy backed trifurcation of capital into three.

It is just two days from now for the state to see repolarisation of political forces, thanks to Jagan for his statement on the capital.

Are all Amaravati protests manufactured?

Share

There are protests in a few villages of the capital Amaravati these days after chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy’s announcement of having three capitals in the State.

The protests are more about shifting the capital from Amaravati and thus losing the market for their lands, rather than the capital itself.

If they say that Kurnool will get just two zerox centers and four tea stalls with the High Court, then why are they holding protests against shifting of High Court is the big question and it points at the possibility of the “investors” behind the agitation.

There were protests initially by some farmers and farm labourers in 2015 against the land pooling. But, there were no hurling of abuses and curses on the chief minister like what we witness these days in Amaravati villages.

The farmers and farm labourers cried, shed tears and were confined to homes. Even when Medha Patkar and other national leaders visited them, they were not allowed to take out any rallies or hold protests in those days.

A small farmer, Boyapati Sudharani, cried for taking away their lands by the government by force and calling it voluntary land pooling. But, today she hurls abuses and curses and not cries!

There is fear of losing investment than the fear of losing the capital. Be it My Amaravati-My Brick, the Happy Nest and the Amaravati Bonds, it was all manufactured by the TDP sympathisers and a handful of NRIs who invested to project Chandrababu Naidu as a successful leader and his project of Amaravati as successful project.

The fears of that manufactured investment are now visible clearly in Amaravati villages.

The Kammas of Guntur and Krishna district never ever dreamt of TDP losing power and Chandrababu Naidu defeated. They never allowed the topic of Jaganmohan Reddy winning the elections, even for discussions.

Even today, they display their hate against Jaganmohan Reddy and love for Chandrababu Naidu, when they protest or speak.

Jaganmohan Reddy might have completed six months in office and for sure will complete his five years, but it takes decades for these people to accept that Jaganmohan Reddy is the chief minister.

A good number of Kammas in Krishna and Guntur district strongly believe that one day Jaganmohan Reddy will go to jail and Chandrababu Naidu will come back to power with MLAs defecting.

These feelings are visible and they reflect in the so called protests that are seen in Amaravati and projected in the print and electronic media that backs TDP and Chandrababu Naidu leadership.

Ram Charan – Pawan Kalyan’s Film in 2020?

Share

Ram Charan has been producing films with his father Megastar Chiranjeevi on Konidela Productions banner. He is using this banner exclusively to produce movies with his father. Apparently, he will now be working in another home banner that belongs to his uncle Pawan Kalyan.

Pawan Kalyan who is making comeback as an actor with the remake of “Pink” will also be reviving his production banner – Pawan Kalyan Creative Works.

While Pawan Kalyan will act in films to be produced by AM Rathnam, Dil Raju and Naveen, his banner will produce movies with Ram Charan and other mega heroes.

Ram Charan himself is now setting up a project for his uncle’s production house. The buzz in the film industry is that Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan’s film will be launched in the second half of 2020. It will be made on a modest budget.

Prabhas Sets A New Record With Mythri – T Series Film!

Share

Prabhas is currently the biggest South Indian star, if not Indian star according to trade statistics. He has pan India market and has been choosing films that will consolidate his status in Non-Telugu markets. His next is with Arjun Reddy/Kabir Singh fame Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

The high budget film will be a joint venture from Mythri Movies and T Series Production. Prabhas is reportedly offered Rs. 75 Cr for the film.

Given his Rs. 100 Cr+ market in Telugu states and a guaranteed business of over Rs. 100 Cr in Hindi markets plus Non theatrical revenues will ensure huge profits, which helps the producers to offer such a huge amount to Prabhas.

This makes Prabhas the highest paid Telugu actor beating Mahesh Babu, who is reportedly taking home Rs. 50 cr for Sarileru Neekevvaru.

The huge gap between Prabhas and other big stars can be covered when others do pan India movies like Baahubali.

Can Centre intervene in Andhra capital row?

Share

For the last one week, farmers of Amaravati region have been agitating against the three capitals plan of YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

While their agitation is understandable, they have nothing much to do since it is the policy decision of the state government to shift the administrative capital to Visakhapatnam and judicial capital to Kurnool, while retaining legislative capital at Amaravati.

However, the lawyers opposing Jagan’s decision have moved the state high court to see whether there is a possibility of judicial intervention.

At the same time, some leaders have advised the farmers to approach the Delhi bosses seeking central intervention.

On Tuesday, hundreds of farmers from Amaravati sent letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through speed post seeking his intervention in preventing shifting of capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.

They explained in detail how they would be at huge loss if the capital is shifted and they requested the Prime Minister to ensure that the capital is continued in Amaravati and developmental works are continued as per the master plan.

In a bid to get the support from the BJP leaders as well, they are using Modi’s pictures at their dharna centres.

But one wonders whether the Centre has any powers to undo the decision of Jagan on the three capitals issue, since it is a state subject. The Centre can intervene only if there is a law and order issue arising out of Jagan’s decision.

At the most, Modi might call Jagan and try to convince him to drop the proposal. If that does not work out, the centre might reject any kind of assistance to the state for the capital issue. Or it might even ask the state to pay back the amount given to the state for capital city at Amaravati.

In any case, it is Jagan’s call to decide the capital and the Centre has little to do in this matter, say analysts.

Kanna Takes U Turn On Three Capitals

Share

Andhra Pradesh BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana seems to have taken a U turn on three capitals proposal by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government. When Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke in Assembly indicating at creating three capitals for the state, Kanna Lakshminarayana welcomed the proposal. There were several BJP leaders who welcomed this move.

Except the former TDP leaders who are now with the BJP, every other BJP leader from the State welcomed the three capitals proposal. They welcomed the High Court for Kurnool and wanted better treatment for Visakhapatnam. However, with some of the Amaravati farmers meeting him in Guntur on Tuesday, the AP BJP chief had taken U turn finding fault with the chief minister on the three capitals.

Kanna Lakshminarayana even promised to take up the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ensure justice done to them.Former TDP leader and former Union Minister Y S Chowdary, had already indicated at taking up the issue with the Prime Minister and get justice done to the farmers. Now, with Kanna also changing his stand, it is to be seen how the BJP national leadership would handle this issue.

The BJP leaders from Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema are happy with Jagan Mohan Reddy’s proposal on three capital and this positive and split view of the leaders from these regions are to be taken into consideration while dealing with the issue.

Butta Bomma: Another Hit Number From AVPL

Share

The latest song to come out from Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo album is a melody that has the potential to rock the music charts.

Thaman who has delivered two chartbuster songs with Samajavaragamana and Ramulo Ramula for AVPL has come up with yet another likeable melody beautifully rendered by Armaan Malik.

The song resembles Ramulo Ramula tune during high pitch notes, but has its own unique appeal that will slowly but surely catch up with the listeners. It will take a few repeats before the listeners get hooked to it, though.

Lyrics by Rama Jogayya Sastri are simple and sweet. ‘Kaali kindi puvvu nenu nethinettukuntive’ lines refers to the status difference between the boy and girl.

On a whole, Butta Bomma is a song that fits perfectly into the super hit album that will surely rank as one of Thaman’s best works till date.

OMG Daddy song wasn’t successful like the first two songs, but Butta Bomma has the potential to stand on its own.

The Biggest Box-Office disasters in 2019 !

Share

More than a hundred films were released from Telugu industry alone in 2019 and as always ninety percent of the films bombed at the box office.

We are mentioning the biggest stinkers among so many of them.

1) NTR – Mahanayakudu: This is not only the biggest dud of the year, but also made it to the all-time list of disasters with near nil collections at the box office. Releasing NTR biopic in two parts turned out to be a huge mistake and the makers had to pay for it.

The underwhelming response for the first part Kathanayakudu almost made the makers to withdraw from releasing the second part.

As expected, the film ended up as a nightmare in terms of box office returns. Kathanayakudu also should be ranked among the biggest turkeys, but let’s leave it out as a special mention.

2) Ruler: Well, the year started on a bad note for Balakrishna fans and it has ended on even a lower note with Ruler. The film is heading for a disaster at the ticket windows.

Commercial result aside, the film will easily top the list of worst movies of the year. Nandamuri fans would want to forget the film as quickly as possible. They would want to erase the memories of watching bad-wigged Balayya as Dharma.

3) Vinaya Vidheya Rama: There’s a thin line between mass and bizarre for most of Boyapati Srinu’s movies and a movie like Vinaya Vidheya Rama is always on the cards when the director fails to notice the line.

Who can forget the scenes where Ram Charan goes to North India by riding on a train top and that classic scene of vultures catching a decapitated head mid-air and the goons chasing them.

No wonder, Ram Charan felt ashamed of being a part of the film, he issued an apology letter to fans and audience.

4) Manmadhudu 2: Rahul Ravindran was expected to deliver a decent comedy especially after his award-winning directorial debut Chi La Sow. But he couldn’t differentiate between adult and family fun that he left most of the family audiences either cringe in their seats or leave the theaters half-way.

Promoting it as a sequel to classic comedy Manmadhudu was a blunder. There are many things that have gone terribly wrong for Manmadhudu 2, which eventually ended up as one of the biggest misfires.

5) Sita: Take this out of the list of movies released this year and not even Bellamkonda Srinivas would notice that.

It was such an insignificant piece of work from director Teja which is probably out of memories of the little audience that watched it in theaters. Despite a notable star cast, Sita was a complete mess.

6) Hippi/90ML: It’s a tie for Karthikeya Gummakonda’s Hippi and 90 ML movies that rounded off a nightmarish year for the young actor.

He is part of another two flop movies, but Hippi and 90 ML are unbearably bad.

7) Mr. Majnu: Akhil’s wait for first taste of success continue as his third film also bombed at the box office.

The movie isn’t that bad, but its commercial outcome is so bad that Akhil had to settle for working with a long forgotten director Bommarillu Bhaskar now.

8) Chanakya: New Year and a new look didn’t find success for Gopichand who is yet to crack the code for success post Loukyam.

The film released in the same weekend as Sye Raa and that added to its miseries.

9) Ranarangam: Sharwanand’s lacklustre gangster drama directed by Sudheer Varma has left a huge hole in its makers pockets. This film is a classic example for ‘all style, no substance’.

10) RDX Love: RX 100’s lead actress Payal Rajput banked heavily upon skin show and adult humor in RDX Love that is easily one of the most terrible movies of the year.
