Top 5: Young Karthikeya Completes Flop Hat-trick!
1) Arjun Suravaram: Nikhil’s crime thriller turned out to be a successful project for its buyers. This is the only film that has been successful among November releases. Nikhil gets some respite with Arjun Suravaram after a dry spell at the box office.
However, Arjun Suravaram was sold for very low prices compared to his previous films. He still needs to cover a lot of ground to reclaim his lost market.
2) 90ML: Kartikeya of RX 100 fame has been able to get many offers, but couldn’t really capitalize on the success as he picked up some lacklustre scripts. His latest film 90ML also turned out to be a big disappointment.
He completed a hat-trick of flops this year as the leading man and also scored another flop with Gang Leader in which he played the antagonist.
3) Pati Patni Aur Woh: Bollywood continues to successfully remake old classics and this is latest addition to the list.
The film opened to decent word of mouth and revenues all over. Kartik Aryan is turning out to be a bankable star at the ticket windows.
4) Panipat: Ashutosh Gowariker’s historical war drama has opened to mixed reviews. Collections are pretty ordinary too.
The film is largely affected by the clash with Pati Patni Aur Woh.
5) Bhagyanagara Veedhullo Gammathu: Srinivasa Reddy’s first attempt at wielding the megaphone turned out to be disastrous as his debut film Bhagyanagara Veedhullo Gammatthu turned out to be ‘Na Ghar Ka Na Ghat Ka’ kind of film that may not even recover its publicity costs.
Gokaraju in YSRC to checkmate Raghurama Raju?
The decision of the former Narasapuram MP and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Gokaraju Ganga Raju to quit the party and defect into the YSR Congress party has raised many an eyebrow.
Ganga Raju, along with his son Rama Raju and brother Narasimha Raju and other family members and followers, is going to meet YSRC president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday and formally join the party.
Though Ganga Raju’s family members evinced interest in joining the YSRC much before the last general elections and approached Jagan, they could not gain entry into the party for various reasons.
By that time, then Telugu Desam Party leader K Raghurama Krishnam Raju had already joined the YSRC and was promised the party ticket from Narsapuram parliamentary constituency.
Since Ganga Raju and Raghurama Raju have traditional rivalry, Jagan thought taking the former into the party would jeopardise the party’s interest in the elections.
In the recent past, there have been reports that Raghurama Krishnam Raju is getting closer to the BJP and has given the impression that he is defying the YSRC party line.
His speech in Lok Sabha supporting the need to continue Telugu as the medium of instruction has created ripples in the party and Jagan called for an explanation from the MP.
Though Raju has given his explanation, Jagan was not happy. In yet another instance, the YSRC leadership was angry with the MP for defying the rule that no MP should meet the Prime Minister or central ministers directly, without the knowledge of parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy and another MP P Mithun Reddy.
Raghurama Krishnam Raju not only met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home minister Amit Shah, but also greeted them, much to the irritation of Jagan. Probably to checkmate the MP, the YSRC leadership is learnt to have invited Gokaraju and family into the party.
It remains to be seen what Raghurama Krishnam Raju will do now!

Coastal delicacies flown to Delhi for Raju fete!
The dinner being hosted by YSR Congress party MP from Narasapuram in West Godavari district K Raghurama Krishnam Raju in New Delhi on December 11 has become a talk of the town in the political circles.
Raju’s invitation says he would be hosting a “farewell get together” on the occasion of completion of successful winter session of Parliament.
However, it is believed that he wanted to host the dinner for being nominated as chairman of Lok Sabha’s subordinate legislation committee.
He has reportedly invited as many as 300 guests for the lavish dinner being held at the residence of his “viyyankudu” (father-in-law of his daughter) K V P Ramachandra Rao at 10, Lodhi Estate in New Delhi.
Raju has not yet been allotted any MP quarters till date and whenever he comes to Delhi, he stays in the residence of KVP, sources said.
The guests include several MPs, besides senior Union ministers and other dignitaries including Lok Sabha Speaker.
He also invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president and Union home minister Amit Shah for the dinner.
Interestingly, Raju specifically mentioned that the menu for the dinner would specially comprise Andhra cuisine. As many as 100 varieties of Andhra delicacies would be served for the guests.
According to sources, Raju is understood to have engaged a special aircraft to transport huge quantities of sea food, including rare variety of fish and prawns from coastal Andhra, particularly from Bhimavaram and Narsapuram areas, along with expert chefs to cook the dishes.
Raju’s dinner is definitely going to be the highlight of the winter session of Parliament!
Ram Charan Announces Rs 10 Lakh to Noor’s Family
Noor Mohammed, a die-hard fan of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s family, passed away recently.
Noor also coordinated all activities of fans belonging to mega family heroes in Greater Hyderabad. Chiranjeevi and Bunny paid their last respects to his body.
Ram Charan has announced monetary assistance of Rs 10 lakhs to the deceased fan’s family.
“I couldn’t pay last respects to Noor Mohammed as I am not in Hyderabad. I will meet Noor’s family as soon as I land in the city. I offer my condolences to the family. He had been a great strength to all our family members. He was a great fan,” Ram Charan said in a statement.
Ram Charan is shooting for Rajamouli’s “RRR”.
Clashing with Mahesh and Bunny’s films was never an option
Venky Mama is hitting the silver screens in another four days and the movie unit seems to be really confident about the family entertainer.
In his interaction with media today, the producer of Venky Mama, Suresh Babu said the film has a solid subject and will cater to a large section of the audience.
“Initially, when I heard Venky Mama story, I was attracted towards the basic plotline. But a lot of work had to be done in order to make it a complete entertainer. This is when Bobby came in and he put his own spin on the story.”, Suresh Babu said.
Speaking about the confusion regarding the release date, Suresh Babu said, “Rumors were rife that Venky Mama will release during Sankranthi season, but clashing with Mahesh and Bunny’s films was never an option. Later, I felt Venky Mama will have a good run if it releases during Christmas holiday season.”
Venky Mama has attained good buzz, thanks to the combination of Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya. We need to wait and see if the family entertainer can match the expectations.

Death for rapists in three weeks in AP!
If YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has his way, those who indulge in rape and murder of women and children would be awarded death penalty within three weeks.
A new legislation to this effect would be introduced in the state assembly in a couple of days. Jagan made an announcement to this effect in the state assembly on Monday, while intervening in the discussion on increasing atrocities on women and children.
Jagan said if the accused in rape and murder of women and children were caught red-handed and all the evidences including DNA reports were available, the investigation would be completed within a week, trial in two weeks and death sentence would be awarded to the culprits would be given within three weeks.
The new bill envisaged setting up of designated fast track courts in every district to deal with crimes against women. It would also focus on blunting the social media that berated women and blocking porn websites besides bringing in prohibition.
The new bill would also include registering of Zero FIR, enabling the police to register a case anywhere irrespective of jurisdiction to instil confidence among women.
Jagan defended the killing of the four rape and murder accused in an encounter with the police in Telangana on Friday last. “Hats off to Telangana chief minister and the Telangana police.
I don’t understand why some people are raising a hue and cry over the killing of rapists. I don’t understand the investigations by the National Human Rights Commission,” he said.
Jagan said he was very much disturbed about the rape and murder of veterinarian, as a son, brother, husband and father of two girls. “I, too, felt that the accused should be shot dead”, he said.
Hats off to KCR, says Andhra CM on encounter
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday hailed his Telangana counterpart K. Chandrashekhar Rao and police officers of that state for the killing of four accused of a woman veterinarian’s gang-rape and murder case.
“Hats off to KCR garu and Telangana police officers,” Reddy said in State Assembly while referring to the killing of all accused in an alleged aencounter’ by the police.
“Encounter took place. If it happens in film… if the hero resorts to encounter, everybody claps. If it happens in real life and if somebody courageous does it, National Human Rights Commission comes rushing. They say what happened is wrong, it should not have happened and ask why it happened,” remarked Reddy in obvious criticism of NHRC for sending a team to investigate the encounter.
The Chief Minister also stated that while nobody wants someone to take law into his hands and go on killing the perpetrators of such heinous crimes, the situation had come to such a pass that victims have lost hope of getting justice due to delays, laws proving ineffective and the culprits going unpunished.
“In such a situation if an incident like this (encounter) happens, those doing it become heroes,” he said in an obvious reference to people hailing the action of Telangana police.
Replying to a debate on increasing atrocities on women, Reddy said the government would table a bill for women’s safety on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister said in cases where there is conclusive evidence, the guilty should be hanged in three weeks.
“The investigation should be completed within a week and trial should be over within two weeks. Within 21 working days, the perpetrators should be hanged,” he said.
He also announced that every district will have an exclusive court to deal with the cases of rape and also the cases of abuse of children.
Reddy said the Hyderabad incident again proved that when a man consumes liquor he becomes a demon. “When a man sits with three four others and they all consume liquor, they become demons and commit such gruesome crimes,” he said.
Reddy said it was for this reason that his government controlled liquor and shut down 43,000 belt shops (illegal liquor outlets) in the villages. He said the government was taking steps for total prohibition as liquor was main cause of crimes against women.
He also vowed to come down heavily on pornographic website and also on those who make objectionable posts on social media about women.
Sarileru Neekevvaru Song: DSP Disappoints Big Time!
Suryudivo Chandrudivo song from Sarileru Neekevvaru is out and it turns out to be a major disappointment.
It is a situational song in which the lyricist Rama Jogayya Sastri comes up with decent lyrics that glorifies the character of Ajay Krishna, the protagonist of Sarileru Neekevvaru.
DSP usually is at his best in scoring such songs, but he is terribly out of form that this song is neither catchy nor melodious.
Mind Block song itself was a rehash of Devi’s old mass songs and this one is a huge, huge disappointment.
One would expect the song to be average atleast, but Devi’s tune bank seems to have gone totally empty.
Fans hoped that this song would be like Vachadayyo Saami or Padara Padara songs, but this one wouldn’t grow in repeats too.
Wonder why Mahesh and Anil Ravipudi okayed such an ordinary tune.
