Queen trailer: This is just the beginning
Inspired by true life events, director Gautham Menon along with Prasath Murugesan have made a web-series with the title ‘Queen.’ This is a tale of a student who is a state topper went on to become a superstar heroine at the age of 18. Then she entered politics and had an unprecedented following and yes your guess is right, we are talking about Jayalalithaa.
Marking her death anniversary on December 5th, the trailer of ‘Queen’ is unveiled and it showcases an unbelievable journey of a young lady. The visuals have few moments, where she was a brilliant student, then an actress and a stalwart in politics.
The trailer also showcases Jayalalithaa getting introduced to MGR and humiliated next to the corpse of MGR.
In the title role as Shakthi Seshadri, Ramya Krishnan shined and maintained good composure. The trailer lastly concludes with Ramya Krishnan uttering the dialogue “This is just the beginning.”

Suresh’s USA Trips Behind Venky Mama’s Excess Budget
What was thought as a 30 crore budgeted film is said to have now turned into a 50 crore budget movie, which has very fewer chances to recover its total budget unless until it turns out a blockbuster at the box office. Venky and Chay’s upcoming ‘Venky Mama’ is the film we are talking about.
Reports have earlier come out that the film’s budget has shot up to 50 crores, a number that Suresh Babu never shows interest. While the producer planned it as a 25-30 crores budget movie, director KS Ravindra’s special love to shoot ‘Military Naidu’ scenes in Kashmir and other places in snow-capped mountains and glaciers are said to have costed hugely. But there is another reason that led to budget shooting up, they say.
During the filming of ‘Venky Mama’, Suresh constantly traveled to the USA to take care of Rana Daggubati’s stay there. This led to another production house managing the film’s day to day shooting affairs. Inexperience led to shooting delays, resulting in more expenditure. Had Suresh not gone to the USA, these expenses would have not shot up, a source commented.
Anyway, if ‘Venky Mama’ could easily get a cool 30-40 crores share from the box office, the rest budget will be recovered through selling satellite and digital rights. With hardly a week left for strong promotions, we have to see how Venky, Chay would pull a mega feat.
Wow! A Dozen Telugu Films Confirm 2020 Release Dates
Usually, big films lock on festivals and other films find a date as per the positioning of these big movies. But then, Tollywood is slowly emerging into a sorted out position like Bollywood counterparts where release dates are locked almost 6 months to 1 year in advance. Here is how a dozen films already locked the first six months of next year.
Almost four months in advance (way back in October), both Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo have confirmed their release dates. While one has locked January 11th, the other one is coming on 12th. And then Kalyan Ram’s Entha Manchivadavura locked Jan 15th, while Raviteja’s Disco Raja is eyeing on Jan 24th and Anushka’s Nishabdam settled for January 31st.
Dil Raju has decided to release Swarwa-Sam’s love story ’96’ on Feb 7th, while Vijay Devarakonda’s love treat World Famous Lover is hitting cinemas on Valentines Day and Nithin’s Bheeshma locking 21st of the month. Then comes Nani’s ‘V’ on March 25th, while Sekhar Kammula’s Love Story with Chay is coming a week next to it on April 2nd. One more week, we have Ram’s Red on 9th. And Sai Dharam’s Solo Brathuke So Betteru is locking May 1st for now, while KGF Chapter 2 also releases in the same time.
That means the next six months is properly chalked while other small films might find a date in between these movies. Hope all these films stick to the dates they announced rather postponing and making others suffer. If a big film postpones inadvertently, the small films need to postpone and all the promotional budgets invested by the latter will be rendered wastage.
Buzz: Mahesh’s New Friend To Direct His Next
From a long time, many are wondering what is that next film Superstar Mahesh Babu is going to sign after Sarileru Neekevvaru. For now, the only thing that has clarity is that the superstar will be heading for a three months break after the release of his latest movie early in January next year.
There is a talk going on from some time that Mahesh’s new friend Vamsi Paidipally, who has grown close to him after they work together for ‘Maharshi’, is going to direct the Superstar again. Though some said that he will be not directing him immediately, currently Vamsi is scouting some locations in Vizag to kick start the shooting of this film in Summer 2020.
Clarifying about the same Vamsi shared with few local media people in Vizag that his next film features Mahesh in the lead and shooting starts soon. With no other film in the hindsight for Mahesh surely the hero might go with his new friend only.
As the directors including Sandeep Vanga and Prashanth Neek, who he thought of working with are busy with respective projects, Vamsi is the immediately available director for Mahesh, they say. Let us wait for official confirmation anyway.
Chay’s Love Story: A First For Sekhar Kammula
Though the release date of the film tentatively titled “Love Story” is in the first week of April next year, definitely director Sekhar Kammula and his hero Naga Chaitanya have managed to bring some attention to it. This is due to the teaser released recently. But here is another thing to be noted.
Many star heroines love to work with Sekhar Kammula because he always churns our films that have strong feminist aspects. Most of his movies like ‘Anand’, ‘Godavari’ and recently ‘Fidaa’ have those strong female characters that are more powerful than the hero. Though he carved movies like Happy Days and Leader, which are hero-centric, Sekhar got branded as a director who elevates heroines as the main protagonist.
However, this movie of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi will have equally distributed characters and narrated more from the hero’s point of view, they say. As the director is also laying emphasis on Chay’s role most of the times, it sounded like has first time directed a movie with a hero, rather a movie with a heroine that also has a hero.
Hope the film will reach expectations and repeat the success of ‘Fidaa’ for Sekhar and Sai Pallavi, while Naga Chaitanya will meet another ‘Majili’ with it.
