Tamannaah Bhatia all set to make web debut

Tamannaah Bhatia is all set to make her debut in the web space. The actress, who is a star in Telugu and Tamil films, will feature in a web series that will release in Tamil.

Tentatively titled “The November Story” the web series tells the story of a father-daughter relationship, where the daughter (essayed by Tamannaah) tries to salvage the reputation of her criminal father (essayed by GM Kumar).

“The OTT platform is also the new playground for accomplished actors like myself looking to break grounds with more challenging roles outside the two-hour cinematic timeframe. I love to get under the skin of characters I essay, and hence the longer web series format is the perfect medium to showcase my skills as it is almost like doing five films at one go. There is lots of detailing and one can explore the character in depth,” Tamannaah said.

She added: “Audiences today want to consume more quality content that has a global appeal. If your story is original, contemporary and relatable, then the appreciation from the audience is spontaneous. I’m open to exploring more of these opportunities going forward.”

The web series has been directed by debutant Ram Subramanian and produced by Ananda Vikatan Group. It will stream on Hotstar.

Boyapati Srinu Offers villain’s Role to Roja?

Director Boyapati Srinu is finalizing the casting for his next film starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. The movie will have two antagonist roles – one male villain and the other a lady villain.

Industry buzz is that director Boyapati has offered this lady villain’s role to Roja but it is not known what is the outcome out of it.

Roja is now an elected MLA and also holds the position of chairperson of APIIC. Both Balakrishna and Roja share good personal relations but they are political opponents.

If Roja is pitted against Balakrishna, it will bring mileage to the movie but it will dilute Roja’s image politically. So, will she agree to this offer?

Even after taking up the position of APIIC’s chairperson, Roja is continuing her acting stint. She is continuing the ‘Jabardasth’ program as well.

This is the third film in the combination of Balakrishna and Boyapati. The new untitled movie will start rolling next month.

Sarileru Neekevvaru all set for a Musical Treat

Bellamkonda Srinivas’s next gets a grand launch

Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas scored a hit with his last film, Rakshasudu. He will be teaming up with director Santosh Srinivas for his next project. Nabha Natesh is set to pair up with Srinivas in this film.

This as-yet-untitled film was launched in a grand manner in Ramanaidu Studios, Hyderabad today.

Ace filmmaker, VV Vinayak hit the first clap and the camera was switched on by Gemini Kiran. The first shot was directed by Dil Raju.

This film is said to be an out-and-out commercial entertainer. Regular shoot will commence from December 6th in Hyderabad.

G Subrahmanyam will produce the film under Sumanth Movie Productions Banner. Noted cinematographer Dudley will handle the camera. Avinash Kolla is the art director. Rockstar, Devi Sri Prasad will score tunes.

In this chat session Nikhil confessed that Arjun Suravaram wasn’t delayed because of financial issues. The film’s business was closed long back, but it was delayed because of some ‘external forces’.

Nikhil didn’t elaborate on it and even Lavanya was taken by surprise to know that there are external forces involved. She complimented Nikhil for going all out to promote the film despite multiple postponements.

Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu was greeted by pelting stones during his visit to Amaravati on Thursday.

This incident hit the headlines. However, it is his casual comments which were recorded in a mobile that went viral.

The video depicts Naidu talking about whether the huge gathering at this rally was paid or not.

To his question, a TDP leader replied that all were given money and all are paid, artists. Or would they come, the Telugu Desam Party leader observed amidst cackles.

It is not pretty clear who he was referring to. However, social media has trended the video.

The memes have been created and it is being inferred that he was talking about the people who participated in his rally.

TDP is said to have hired people to participate in his Amaravathi visit.

Tough Times Ahead For Maruthi’s Prathi Roju Pandage

Hence, Venky Mama has now moved to Dec 25, which is bad news for Prathi Roju Pandage. Maruthi’d family drama is clashing with Ruler and Dabangg 3 on Dec 20.

There would be a certain dent in first weekend collections due to the competition from mass films.

With Venky Mama coming Dec 25, it would make further difficult for Prathi Roju Pandage unless it generates positive word of mouth.

Both Sai Dharam Tej and Maruthi need a big hit considering their recent form. It should get very good reports to sustain the heavy competition.

Nithya: Bad behaviour isn’t restricted to film industry

Actress Nithya Menen has been working in films for over a decade now, and she saus she never felt “unsafe”. She adds that she has faced bad behaviour but that’s not limited to the film industry.

At the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa, on Thursday, Nithya was asked about her film journey and to comment on the general impression that women in the film industry are not safe — especially aspiring actresses.

“You are as safe as you allow yourself to be. Nobody forces anything on you unless you make it happen. It has never happened to me that I felt unsafe. I have definitely seen bad behaviour and I have called them out. I have said ‘Don’t you have respect? or ‘Don’t do that’. Bad behaviour is everywhere, not just in the film industry,” said Nithya.

“You can decide what you want to do, how much you want or don’t want to compromise. You are not helpless,” she added.

The “Mission Mangal” actress also spoke about how cinema happened by chance.

“I got into films accidentally. I wanted to be in the forest, around animals and make films on them. However, very recently I started to develop an incredible love for cinema. What a beautiful medium this is! It lets me make something that can change the emotional state of people. Maybe, this is what arranged marriage feels like,” she quipped.

Acting came naturally to her.

“It has always been so natural and easy. Nothing was a challenge to me. I realised this is what I am best at doing. It was truly effortless,” said the actress, who has starred in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi movies.

In fact, she calls herself a spontaneous actor.

“I cannot be directed too much. If you over-instruct me, you will mess it up. I am not a method actor. I am spontaneous,” said Nithya.

Going back to the time when she was shooting for the 2015 film “OK Kanmani”, she shared: “During ‘OK Kanmani’, Mani (Ratnam) sir would not instruct me much. For a long time I thought Mani sir didn’t like my performance.”

Kannada Cinema industry has come a long way in recent times. They had shown their capabilities with KGF that has earned them recognition across the nation.

Sandalwood’s latest mega budget action film is ASN starring Rakshit Shetty in the lead role. It is releasing in Telugu as Athade Srimannarayana.

The trailer of Athade Srimannarayana looks grand and visually stunning with terrific action set pieces and production design. Reminiscent of Western (Cowboy) films, ASN is set in a fictional town in South India.

The film looks technically solid with terrific background score and superb camera work. The elevation scenes of the leading man also are eye catching.

It is an unconventional trailer with a length of over four minutes and looks very unique amid regular trailers. ASN trailer will surely build the hype around this film.

Directed by Sachin the film is produced by Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah. Shanvi Srivastava plays the female lead. ASN is releasing in five languages on December 27.

Reel Talk: Nani Next Film Confirmed

This second film in Nani and Shiva Nirvana combination will start shoot in early 2020.

Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi who have close association with Nani and produced Shiva’s Majili will bankroll the new film under Shine Screens banner.
