Uday Kiran Biopic: Sundeep Kishan To Produce And Act?

Share

There was a buzz earlier that director Teja is coming up with the idea of making a biopic on Udaya Kiran, but the director later refused it. And it looks like a newcomer director is getting ready to do the same, making a movie on the life and times of Uday Kiran.

As the life of Uday Kiran has much-unexplored sides regarding to his love life, marital issues, breaking up marriage with Chiranjeevi’s daughter, losing film chances and subsequent death, surely it makes a great story. A rumour is now doing rounds that hero Sandeep Kishan wants to play the role of Uday in this biopic.

Unconfirmed news is doing rounds that Sundeep got impressed with the idea of a biopic on Uday Kiran and he has even come forward to produce it. But the flop show of Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL is said to have pushed him into thinking about investing into the project, and he’s now looking forward to partners they say.

However, industry experts film that not only making a film on Uday Kiran’s career but starring in it won’t be of much help to Sandeep’s career as none of the biopics other than Savitri’s Mahanati have done well at the Telugu box office.

Will These Likes & Views Reflect In Collections?

Share

The fight for getting huge ‘views’ on YouTube and celebrating the ‘likes’ on each video is at peak stage with both Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Sarileru Neekevvaru claiming bigger stakes. And the makers of these films are said to be spending a bomb to get these things done.

And the immediate question that lingers our mind is, will these ‘likes’ and ‘views’ turn out into audiences, thereby giving huge collections at the box office when the film released? For example, we have Kolaveri Di clocking 200 million views, but not even a quarter of it watched the film ‘3’ in theatres, as the content happens to be a damp squib and dragged.

However, the major thing that could happen in the present day is that promoting YouTube videos aggressively will result in direct-to-user promotion. Though the costs are high when it comes to digital promotions, the user will be directly met on his smartphone with the vides of these movies. If he gets connected, there are chances that he might watch the movie in theatres.

Currently, there are metrics coming up to measure the turn-out-ratio of these types of digital marketing, but frankly speaking, Telugu audiences aren’t so forgiving that they watch films due to hefty promotions. Till date, only those films that got worthy content clicked and no matter how much the likes of Saaho and Sye Raa are promoted, their result showed a direct proportionality with their content.

Baahubali Writer’s Next With Kangana: Aparajitha Ayodhya

Share

Seems like the confidence this star heroine has in Baahubali writer Vijayendra Prasad just god troubled. And after playing the victim card in Bollywood for a long time, she started playing the Hindutva card too, and here is her next step towards it.

After coming out in support of Ayodhya Verdict of Supreme Court, now comes Kangana Ranaut, all set for a film on a similar story. Titled “Aparajitha Ayodhya”, the film deals with Ram Mandir and the journey of a person from non-believer to believer. Vijayendra Prasad is said to have written the script a long time ago but the project is now brought down from the attic as the Ayodhya verdict has taken the country by a storm.

Kangana says that there is lot of negativity surrounding the name Ayodhya since the Babri Masjid Demolition incident took place, and her film is going to wipe that out. She hails Vijayendra Prasad again for delving deeper into the brain to bring out such content which not only focuses on spirituality but opens up the truth.

Currently, Kangana is busy with “Thalaivi”, the biopic of Tamilnadu’s late CM and former heroine Jayalalitha.

Balayya Missing Out Many Key Events, Why So?

Share

Recently when the Diwali bash pictures of Mega family and Akkineni family came out, many thought that even Nandamuri bash should have looked awesome in case if Balayya celebrated one, or shared those pictures. And now, the reunion party of actors that takes place annually, has seen him missing out.

Apart from Rajnikanth, the only biggie and popular actor who is missing at the “Class Of 80s” 10th anniversary that took place at Megastar Chiru’s newly built palatial residence is none other than Nandamuri Balakrishna. While we have Nagarjuna and Venkatesh joining Chiru, this time Balayya missed out, as looking all this four together would have overwhelmed cinema lovers.

Some say that Balayya got busy with Ruler, but then, taking a break in the evenings and attending a night party isn’t a thing that would get hurdled by the shoot. Few revealed that he’s actually busy with a special pooja that is done after Karthika Masam and hence couldn’t really attend it.

Whatever it maybe, Balayya is missing at key events these days including the recently concluded ANR Awards event as well.

Pic Talk: Megastar Chiru And His Retro Heroines

Share

Megastar Chiranjeevi once again appeared in a dazzling avatar as the total gang of ‘Class of 80s’ appeared in Black and Gold themed dresses for their latest anniversary meet. And the way Chiranjeevi posed with some of his fellow actors from the South is truly amazing.

Especially while posing with heroinesKushboo, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Poonam Dhillon, Suhasini and Lissy Lakshmi, Chiranjeevi stunned with a retro pose as the heroines standing to the extreme left and right lifted their legs and helped complete the pose. This picture is now going viral and many are wondering why the Megastar is looking forward to many new faces for his upcoming film when he has super hot senior heroines in hand.

On the other hand, Mohanlal’s picture with Chiru, where the former held Chiru like how the famous Chiru-Charan picture appears, the dad holding the head of the son who is sitting at his feet, has gone viral on the social media. This time, Jacki Shroff has come down from Bollywood, filling new color in the group.

Top 5: Another Disappointing Weekend At The Cinemas

Share

1) George Reddy: It has been a very disappointing month for Telugu Cinema box office so far. George Reddy that looked promising also couldn’t light up the season as it opened to mixed response and okay collections.

The film failed to maintain strong hold in its first weekend even in Nizam, where it was expected to do better.

2) Tenali Ramakrishna BA.BL.: Last week’s release Tenali Ramakrishna’s collections remained on the lower side right from the beginning.

It is not able to recover its costs even after two weekends and is heading for a flop.

3) Action: Vishal’s Action fetched good price compared to his recent releases, but is struggling at the box office. The buyers will lose more than half their investment.

4) Frozen 2: The sequel to successful Disney’s animated film Frozen has opened well at the multiplexes. The word of mouth has been fairly decent, but it is unlikely to be as successful as its predecessor.

5) Ragala 24 Gantallo: Lack of crowd pulling actors and poor pre-release buzz has taken a toll on this low budget thriller. The collections for this film have been disappointing everywhere.

Row over English medium yet to die down

Share

Despite firm assertion by YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and issuance of government orders over introduction of English as medium of instruction in government schools, the pro-TDP papers continue to stoke the controversy.

On Monday, two major Telugu dailies Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy picked up a point from the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi made during his monthly “Mann ki baat” speech over the radio.

Modi underlined the need to promote native languages and said development cannot be possible if the mother tongue was ignored.

He was referring to some native languages becoming extinct and said United Nations Organisation (UNO) also declared 2019 as the International Year of Native Languages. He appealed to the people to protect their mother tongue.

It is obvious that the two dailies have made it their lead stories only to snub the YSRC government for introducing English medium.

However, nowhere in his speech did Modi refer to English medium and argue that it should not be introduced in the government schools. He only suggested protection of mother tongue, which Jagan says he is not neglecting.

Sakshi daily also highlighted Narendra Modi’s speech but with the point that he had never wanted to become the Prime Minister.

Maharasthra drama continued to be another leading story in all the three dailies. The Supreme Court directions to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Governor to submit the letters proving how they staked claim for forming the government was the highlight the report.

Apart from these common stories, each of the three dailies have their own special reports; of course, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy carried their own brand of negative stories – Eenadu carried a report on thriving of sand mafia despite instructions by chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to eradicate corruption in sand supply.

Andhra Jyothy carried three reports – one on suicides and forcible deaths due to mounting debts, family disputes and depresson; second one on increasing consumption of bottled water and lack of financial resources for new projects in Andhra Pradesh, concluding that there was no way except going for fresh loans.

Sakshi carried two special reports – one on overhauling of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and large scale return of labour migrants due to pro-poor initiatives being taken by the government.

Otherwise, the three major dailies have nothing major and sensational to highlight on Monday.
