‘Stylish’ Star Costumes Bomb On Producers!
Allu Arjun is hailed as the ‘Stylish Star’ of Tollywood and most of that style actually comes from the costumes he picks up. But to live up to that tag, it is being heard that the star hero makes his producer spend a bomb on the clothes he wears for the silver screen.
A rumour is being heard that when the makers of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo have asked Allu Arjun to sign a brand deal with a noted Indian clothing brand for this film, he refused to do so. The likes of Ram Charan earlier signed similar deals with brands like Levis for Orange and got a new tinge when it comes to style. But Bunny is said to be against that idea.
He went all the way to Paris to buy the latest collections of brands like Givenchy, Balenciaga, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Laduree and Merci, which have finally costed a bomb for the producers. “It is just a white jacket with simple design, which costs nearly 3.5 lacs. Our hero wants to look just the best” a source in the know commented.
As these costumes are just one-time used things on the screen, and our producers don’t sell them in auctions or return them to creators, definitely it is a cold investment for them. But for cinema, all these exorbitant costs always happen.
Young Hero In New Deal For Old Film’s Release?
Young hero Nikhil himself says, “Ee cinemaki padina kashtalu Na 17 movies ki padaledu. Oka Honest Film ni Mee deggariki teesukuravalanna Praytname Idhi #ArjunSuravaram”, as he released the trailer of this much delayed movie other day.
Fact is that the film has missed out almost three release dates already, with two being official and the other one was planned but not announced. But finally, the film, which happens to be a remake of Tamil film Kanithan, directed by TN Santosh who carved the original, is hitting cinemas on November 29th. Here is an interesting talk regarding this release.
Apparently the film is said to have suffered due to financial crunch as the makers lacked funds to clear dues and release the movie. Though the creative aspect of the film, including some tiff between director Santosh and his Telugu editor, is said to have delayed the film a bit, financial issues gave the mighty blow. But then, Geetha Arts is said to be helping this film’s release now. Why so?
They say that Nikhil has now signed a three movies deal with Geetha Arts, which he might execute after he wraps Karthikeya 2 movie. As Nikhil signed them, Allu Arvind is said to be helping the release of Arjun Suravaram which was earlier titled “Mudra”.
What’s Behind Ramya Krishna And Charmme’s Goa Meet?
After striking back with a solid success ‘ISmart Shankar’, director Puri Jagannadh announced his next project with the happening star Vijay Devarakonda. Even before the lead actress of the movie is finalized, the makers are said to have signed up senior actress Ramya Krishnan for a highly crucial role in the movie.
After Baahubali, Ramya has become one of the most busiest actors and she is now doing a key role in Akash Puri’s upcoming film ‘Romantic’, which is being produced by Puri and Charmme Kaur. It looks like Ramya has been finalized for Vijay’s yet to be titled project after the actress’s recent interaction with Charmee Kaur during the shoot of ‘Romantic’ in Goa.
According to industry reports, the main plot revolves around Vijay and Ramya. However, the onboarding of Sivagami has not been officially announced yet.
The reports also indicate that ISmart heroine Nidhhi Agerwal may grab a chance to romance Vijay in this film, which is likely to be titled as ‘Fighter’. On other hand, some rumours have recently emerged that Ramya Krishnan and actor Madhavan are going to seen as Varun Tej parents in the actor’s next film.
Will Sye Raa Create Record Views on Prime?
Megastar Chiranjeevi’s “Sye Raa” holds the record for getting the highest amount from digital rights. Amazon Prime had bagged the entire streaming rights of the film for Rs 50 crore, a record amount for a film primarily made in Telugu. The entire rights were for all languages that include Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. While Prabhas’s ‘Saaho’ was sold for Rs 40 crore, “Sye Raa” fetched the producer whopping Rs 50 crore.
Producer Ram Charan succeeded in clinching such a deal and he made good profits from satellite and digital rights as together they brought in more than Rs 75 crore revenue.
“Sye Raa”, however, didn’t bring any profits to the majority of distributors from theatrical revenue. Except for the Nizam and Uttarandhra region, no distributor had seen big profits.
Now, it is time to check whether Amazon Prime can make good money from the streaming. The Digital giant is expecting to garner the highest views for the mega epic drama as the film streams on November 21st.
For Pawan, Jagan is just a YCP leader!
YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has set a new record in the history of state politics by winning 151 out of 175 assembly seats and 22 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats and capturing a vote share of nearly 50 per cent. The people have given him such a huge mandate that Jagan deserved huge respect from all sections, including the opposition parties. One has to refer to him as “Mukhya Mantri garu” while the officials call him “Honourable CM.”
But it appears Jana Sena Party chief and actor Pawan Kalyan does not consider Jagan as the chief minister despite securing such a massive mandate from the people. It has been noticed that in all his social media postings and public statements of late, Pawan has been calling the chief minister as “YCP leader Sri Jagan Reddy.”It looks like Pawan does not want to refer to Jagan at least as the YSRC president and chief minister, let alone “Hon’ble CM” or “Mukhya Mantri garu.”
He doesn’t even call him as Y S Jagan, but has added the suffix “Reddy” to show his contempt towards the community.Surprisingly, when Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was in power till May this year, Pawan never dared calling him “TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu.”Instead, all his past tweets show that the Jana Sena chief referred to Naidu as “Hon’ble CM Sri CBN garu.”
Even while making critical comments against the TDP and its policies, Pawan used to call Naidu only as “Hon’ble CM Sri CBN garu.”Now, it clearly shows that there is definitely some merit in the allegations of the YSRC leaders that Pawan Kalyan is an adopted son of Chandrababu Naidu!
Allu Arjun Charges Rs. 25 Crore For Ala Vaikunthapuramulo
Allu Arjun is taking home a whopping Rs. 25 crore as remuneration for his upcoming Sankranthi release Ala Vaikunthapuramulo. This is a bit shocking as Geetha Arts owned by his father Allu Aravind has a share in the profits of the film bankrolled by S. Radha Krishna of Harika Hassine Creations.
The film’s estimated budget is over Rs. 120 Crore including Allu Arjun and Trivikram paychecks.Wonder what the producer would get as an Allu Arjun starrer’s theatrical value is way below the Rs. 100 Crore mark. The film’s Hindi dubbing rights have been sold for Rs. 19.5 Crore though.
Ala Vaikunthapuramulo is going to be the costliest film ever in Allu Arjun’s career so far.The actor insisted upon a share for Geetha Arts and despite that is charging Rs. 25 Crore as his remuneration. Trivikram will get at least Rs. 15 Crore for his work.
This is just an example of how costly it has become for a producer to make a big ticket film with a top billed star and a superstar director.
New Era begins in Andhra Pradesh
The YSR Congress party government’s latest initiative “YSR Navasakam” (A new era) aimed at providing benefits of all kinds of welfare schemes to all sections of people at saturation levels is the highlight the day in the newspapers on Wednesday.
For the second time in a week, the state government issued jacket advertisements to the mainstream media, barring of course Andhra Jyothy, on the launch of YSR Navasakam from Wednesday, which it said would bring a revolution in the implementation of welfare schemes.
The scheme was obviously the lead story for Sakshi. However, both Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy have ignored this story, despite the fact that Eenadu also got the frontpage advertisement. May be, they have ignored it as enough was written about the scheme a couple of days ago.
Interestingly, English medium in government schools continues to hit the headlines in the newspapers. However, this time they focussed on the comments of YSR Congress party MP from Narasapuram K Raghurama Krishnam Raju who spoke in parliament in support of Telugu language.
Particularly, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy carried a second lead story on how chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed anger over the MP’s comments and warned party leaders against any comments against English medium.
Though Sakshi also carried this story in the bottom half, it did not mention the name of the MP but only said Jagan had warned an MP from Godavari districts and said he would not tolerate if anybody spoke against English language which was introduced for the benefit of poor children from marginalised sections.
Similarly, the Jagan government’s decision to reduce the number of bars in the state by 40 per cent and increase the rates of liquor served in the bars was also a big news for the mainstream dailies.
Eenadu has an interesting story on how the Centre was systematically rejecting the legitimate demands of Andhra Pradesh, as was evident from the replies given by the NDA government in parliament.
The Centre has apparently stated that Kadapa steel plant and Dugarajapatnam port are not feasible, no special assistance would be given to the state to offset revenue deficit and there is no question of increasing the assembly seats till 2026.
The other reports that were missing on the front pages of other newspapers are: the decision of the Dubai-based Lulu Group not to invest in Andhra Pradesh and the decision of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams to deposit its money and gold only in nationalised banks.
Andhra Jyothy’s banner story is also its exclusive, but a negative report against the government, stating that the teaching hospitals all over the state have decided to collect fees for treatment, thereby giving up free medicare to the poor.
On the other hand, Sakshi carried a special anchor story on Veligonda project explaining how it was progressing at a high speed and the first phase is getting ready for inauguration by June.
Interestingly, Sakshi and Eenadu carried a small report on TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s comments on alleged false cases against his party leaders and that the party would wage a legal battle against the government. Ironically, Andhra Jyothy, considered to be Naidu’s mouth piece, ignored the same!
IT Raids on Producer Suresh Babu

‘Pottodu may grab our party’: RGV’s Missile
Ram Gopal Varma has come up with another trailer of “Kamma Rajyamlo Kadap Reddlu” to turn up the heat in the Andhra politics. The first trailer created controversy with its direct attack on TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and now he has added more spice in the brand new trailer.
The trailer has a dialogue that refers to NTR Jr. When someone comments that it would be a tough scene for their party in the next five years, another leader raises the doubt whether that “pottodu” would take over their party into his hands.NTR Jr often fondly is called as ‘Buddodu’. RGV changed that ‘Buddodu’ term to ‘Pottodu’.
The trailer 2 of “Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu” is even more explosive. In this trailer, he also gave more space to Pawan Kalyan’s character and he made him look like a clown. The political thriller is set in the backdrop of the post-2019 Andhra Pradesh General elections. RGV has succeeded in casting the right persons for all the characters. We have to see whether this film would pass on the censor board.
