KE Family To Jump Fence To Join YSRC?
If the reports appearing in a section of media are to be believed, Telugu Desam Party is going to receive yet another rude jolt, this time in Kurnool district.According to reports, former deputy chief minister and TDP strongman in Kurnool K E Krishna Murthy is all set to take a plunge into the YSR Congress party shortly.
Along with him, all his family members, including his brother and former minister K E Prabhakar would be joining the YSRC. Prabhakar has been made MLC by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu in January 2018.Sources said YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has given the green signal for the entry of KE family into the party.
Apparently, he has promised to nominate Krishna Murthy to Rajya Sabha in April next year, besides taking Prabhakar into the cabinet in the next reshuffle to be done after another two years. In all probability, the KE family will bid adieu to the TDP and join the YSRC by this month-end.
The TDP, which could not win even a single assembly seat in Kurnool in this year’s assembly elections, is facing existential crisis in the district, as several leaders are making beeline to the YSRC in the post-election scenario. While former MP Butta Renuka already defected to the YSRC before the elections, there are reports that the family of former Nandyal MP late S P Y Reddy and Gouru family also are sending feelers to the YSRC leadership expressing their interest to join the party.
Did NTR Stop Surender Reddy to Direct Prabhas?
A video interview of Surender Reddy has gone viral on social media with fans fighting over it. NTR’s fans are trolling director Surender Reddy without really understanding what he said.In this interview, he explained how he missed the chance of directing Prabhas at the very early stage of his career.
He was to direct Prabhas soon after the release of “Atanokkade” but he missed the opportunity due to NTR’s then-manager Sukumar. He was explaining how he had missed the chance of directing Prabhas but he didn’t say anything negative about NTR. But NTR’s fans have taken it in the wrong context and started trending against Surender Reddy.
Some even went on suggesting NTR that he should teach a lesson to ‘Sye Raa’ director. They are tagging NTR on twitter.
“After the release of Atanokkade, a producer arranged a meeting with Prabhas. I have prepared a script for him and was to narrate the script to him. But NTR’s manager Sukumar had taken me to a place and made to stay there for two days and emotionally blackmailed me to direct NTR. Since I am introduced by Kalyan Ram, they said I should direct NTR as my second film. I have taken up ‘Ashok’ thus. The story was given by them but I changed the script according to my style,” he explained.
YS Jagan: Too Fast To Succeed or Fail?
In an Entrepreneur world, there is a popular advice to budding entrepreneurs that goes like this, “Fail Fast, Fail Often”.
But that advice doesn’t suit for Political Leaders in India, especially in a southern Indian state like, Andhra Pradesh where mud-slinging game is the favorite game of all the players in the field!!
But reasons unknown, Jagan seems to be following same principle i.e. Fail Fast, Fail Often and Learn/Build from it!
Reason?
May be because he is scared that he might go to Prison anytime if Power Centre decides to send him inside or maybe he wants to create an impression for him as a CM who implements his Manifesto within the first year rather than implementing in the last year before elections like every other CM.
6 Months – 9 Promises:
It’s NOT even 6 months since YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took oath as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and has already either started or issued orders on almost all of his 9 major promises (Navaratnalu) and many of the items from his election manifesto.
In an unusual & rare manner, he even got his party (YSRCP) manifesto displayed in big size in his office which otherwise usually seen as put to hide by many of earlier CMs.
Again all of these have happened in less than 6 months of his administration. And that’s where the main problem is….
Why Hurry?
Aren’t these Paramount things that affect people lives to a great extent? Yes, they are and that’s why they need to be discussed in length, formulated well and then put to implementation in a transparent way.
Like in Entrepreneurial world, mere a Good idea is not enough, it has to be implemented right way!
That principle is even more important in the administration of any state or country as it affects lives of people, especially poor people, they need to be discussed in length before being implemented!
Example 1 – Sand:
YS Jagan did a great move by blocking sand mafia that started during earlier TDP period by cancelling existing policy, stopping issuance of Sand and much later releasing an App/website to book the sand online!
Why hurry?
The IDEA itself is good but it lacks proper analysis & understanding of the after effects of this order and how it affects every day battle of lakhs of construction labor and how the website/app can be misused by few parties to book all the sand and not let common man book it!
Unfortunately, it seems like Floods also, to some extent, a cause of shortage of sand as even after Government realized the suffering of people, they couldn’t gather enough sand because of the floods as they say!
These issues seem to have been fixed now but that’s too late. People have suffered & opposition parties have taken advantage of it.
Example 2 – Transfer of AP Chief Secretary, LV Subramanyam garu
Another incident that happened recently was sudden transfer of AP Chief Secretary, LV Subramanyam garu!
Why hurry?
It’s not unusual for CM to transfer officers they don’t like but Even if you don’t like him, what is the need of sending him away so unceremoniously, that too few months before his retirement of service?
It was covered/fixed later, though not in full, through the explanation given by Principal Secretary Praveen Prakash.
Example 3 – English Medium
An order on introducing English Medium in Government Schools has caused quite a stir in AP among political circles and Telugu Language Lovers.
Again the IDEA itself is wonderful idea but
Why hurry
Why hurry in implementing for up-to sixth standard in the next year itself? How come existing Telugu Teachers will be ready to teach Sixth Standard subjects so soon? Is it enough time? May be? But why can’t let that discussion happen in the society and take their feedback before issuing final orders?
Why can’t introduce couple of measures to protect Telugu Language like introducing bonus marks if someone excels in Telugu, Government Awards for Prominent people in Telugu Literature etc., along with implementing English Medium?
Solution:
Let ministers & the officials draft the policy, announce the intention, then let media, experts, and common public give their opinion/feedback, and then the government appointed committee can draft the final policy and publish it!
Finally
Appreciation & Request:
Dear CM, Thanks for willing to take dare step in trying to solve decades old problems i.e. improving infrastructure of schools, Improvising availability of Doctors in Govt. Hospitals etc. and trying to keep all your promises but please slowdown, formulate well and then implement!
Srinivas Reddy Lost Heavily with Nagarjuna
Director Srinivas Reddy who had delivered a couple of decent hits like ‘Adirindayya Chandram’ and ‘Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila’ has lost his precious time with Nagarjuna’s indifferent attitude.
The director didn’t blame Nagarjuna directly but he implied that Nagarjuna and his son Naga Chaitanya have killed his prospects. He made ‘Damarukum’ with Nagarjuna which was released amidst high expectations but didn’t make much impact at the box-office.Despite this, Nagarjuna asked him to pen the script for the sequel of his blockbuster ‘Hello Brother’. Srinivas Reddy said he worked on the script for nearly one year but Nagarjuna was not satisfied with it.
He suggested the director make a commercial movie with his son Naga Chaitanya and the film was launched with much fanfare but it was later shelved. All in all, Srinivas Reddy wasted more than three years of his time for Nagarjuna and his son. He is now testing luck with a thriller named ‘Raagala 24 Gantallo’.
Srinivas Reddy also recently got a director’s position in SVBC channel, a devotional channel run by the TTD board.
Sai Dharam Tej Cannot Believe His Luck!
Sai Dharam Tej is on cloud nine to see clear ground for his upcoming release Prathi Roju Pandage. The film was supposed to clash with many notable and crazy films, but it has only Balakrishna’s Ruler left to compete with.
Disco Raja has been pushed to January and Bheeshma is rescheduled for February.96 also has been delayed and Venky Mama that was supposed to come either on Dec 20 or Dec 25 is now slated for Dec 13.This is great news for the makers of Prathiroju Pandaage as they will have little to worry while releasing during holiday period. Balakrishna’s Ruler is not going to be a threat to PRP as both the genres are different.
Prathi Roju Pandage is key for Sai Dharam Tej who is struggling to reclaim his market. His last film Chitralahari was a safe venture but it only did half of what SDT’s Supreme was able to.With Allu Aravind’s release planning and Maruthi’s brand value, PRP should be the film that SDT has been waiting for.
Bad days ahead for Chandrababu Naidu!
An important development with regard to Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday was conveniently ignored by the pro-TDP media on Tuesday.
It is with regard to the orders issued by Anti-Corruption Bureau special court judge Sambasiva Rao Naidu in Hyderabad on the disproportionate assets case pending against Chandrababu Naidu for over a decade and a half.
The TDP chief had obtained stay on the proceeding of the case way back in 2005. Though the stay was not extended by the state high court despite the lapse of the stay period, nobody approached the ACB court to continue the case.
On Monday, the ACB court revived the case again as there was no stay pending on the case and issued notices to Naidu.
Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvati, who filed the case in 2005, is going to submit the relevant documents to the court in this regard and present her arguments. The case has been posted to November 25.
Though it is a major development, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy conveniently ignored this news on the front page and pushed it to inside pages as a small item, but Sakshi expectedly highlighted the report as a second lead story saying Shock to Chandrababu in ACB court. Needless to say, it will closely monitor the case hereafter.
Otherwise, the lead story in all the three major Telugu dailies on Tuesday was the 250th session of Rajya Sabha and the headline was also more or less similar: “Adviteeyam” (No parallel).
As usual, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy sought to carry negative stories against the YSRC government.
Eenadu continued its campaign in favour of Telugu medium of instruction by carrying a flyer interview with prominent linguist Prof Ganesh N Devi who questioned whether Telugu would be taught as a medium of instruction abroad, if not in Telugu states.
Similarly, it also published a story on the proposed act by the Centre providing protection to foreign investors with regard to agreements signed with the state governments, so that the latter cannot withdraw or review such agreements indiscriminately.
Obviously, the report was targeting the Jagan government which decided to review the power purchase agreements with solar and wind power companies.
Andhra Jyothy went a step ahead by carrying a banner story on the Centre’s toughening stand on Polavaram project stating that it was not included in the list of national projects and also not acknowledging the Polavaram Project Authority. It casts shadow on flow of funds from the Centre to the project.
Besides, Andhra Jyothy carried two more anti-government stories: sword of losing jobs hanging on the heads of one and a half lakh contract and outsourcing employees and also lack of remunerative prices for turmeric.
The controversy over a religious structure at Amalapuram and TDP MP Galla Jayadevi’s reference to gag order on the media in AP also figured prominently in Andhra Jyothy.
Sakshi carried one major positive story in favour of the Jagan government – giving a new direction to the marketing department under Nadu-Nedu programme aimed at setting up market yards in every assembly constituency.
Jagan’s meeting with the Governor, appointment of a task force to prevent irregularities in sand supply, swearing-in of Justice Bobde as the chief justice of Supreme Court and uncertainty in Maharashtra are some of the important stories that found place on the front pages of the three Telugu dailies.
Why Has Roja Become Silent These Days?
It has been a long time since one has heard about YSR Congress party MLA R K Roja either in the government or in the party activities.Once a firebrand leader of the party, the Nagari MLA has virtually gone silent after she was appointed as the chairperson of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC).
There is no news from her or even from her corporation, except for an occasional appearance in the public forums. In fact, Roja is more visible on television screens as the judge in the popular realty show Jabardast, rather than in political meetings. The last time we heard Roja making aggressive talk was in the budget session of the state assembly when she took the TDP legislators to task.
Other than that, she has not been seen or heard much in the last few months. On Monday, Roja was seen at “Save Nature” function in Chittoor where she campaigned against plastic use.She also distributed bicycles for the students and appealed to them to make the state plastic free.
It is learnt YSRC president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked Roja not to create any controversies by making statements but restrict herself to her work.He told her to concentrate on her constituency apart from doing her job in the APIIC.May she will use the forthcoming winter session of the state assembly again to raise her voice and attack the TDP!
Rajinikanth On Politics: ‘The Miracle will happen’
Chennai: In the cinema obsessed Tamil society and its multiple media houses that often peddle superficial and shallow reportage on even critical public issues, a mere wave of an arm or flash of a smile from popular actors cause near-hysteria.Actor Rajinikanth has worked this distressing social trait to his advantage quite a few times, and he did it again on Sunday evening at the glittering celebration of his friend Kamal Haasan’s 65th birthday and his 60 years in cinema.
Amid the wholesome praise for the hugely talented friend of over four decades, Rajini referred to the great luck that catapulted Edappadi Palaniswami miraculously as the Chief Minister two years ago. Prior to that, Edappadi would not have even dreamt such a miracle would happen to him.“Ninety-nine percent people had predicted his government would not last. First, they said 10 days at the most, then they said one month, then four-five months. But the miracle continues even till this day overcoming all the obstacles”, said Rajini before launching his obviously well-rehearsed climax dialogue.
“And tomorrow too….”. A long pause, obviously to trigger wild cheering from the packed audience in the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, then the punch word: “The Miracle will happen”.The applause could mean they had all come to the conclusion that Rajini was talking about his own political launch “tomorrow”; or else, he was predicting that friend Kamal would make it to the Fort St George soon as the Chief Minister.
In any case, the ‘superstar’ ended up handing out liberal praise for Palaniswami for his gritty innings at the crease — so the AIADMK members were not really justified in reacting angrily at the ‘athisayam-arputham’ tag he had stuck on their CM’s collar. It could be a case of poor interpretation of the actor’s podium script. The AIADMK had a ready response to Rajini’s remarks, which the leaders interpreted as insulting their Chief Minister.
“Rajini may believe in luck and miracles. His prediction of a future miracle will surely happen and that is, the return of our AIADMK to power in the 2021 elections”, fisheries minister D. Jayakumar said.“Some people think that they can become prominent by attacking the AIADMK. Many had predicted our party would disappear after Amma’s demise, but her government is firmly in command even now”, he said.
