CID report in Amaravati land deals ready
The CID sleuths have almost completed the investigation into the alleged insider trading in Amaravati by the previous TDP government.
Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy, while in Opposition, alleged insider trading in Amaravati, where the TDP leaders had advance information about the capital location and have purchased lands at throwaway price and made huge money after it was named as capital.
The YSR Congress alleged that the capital location information was leaked to Ministers Narayana, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Prathipati Pullarao, MPs Galla Jayadev and Murali Mohan, Union Minister Y S Chowdary, MLAs Dhulipala Narendra Kumar and many others.
With the advance leaked information, it is alleged that these leaders have purchased huge extent of lands from the farmers at cheap price, as the farmers had no clue of the capital location. These lands were then given to the government in land pooling and thus benefited.
The CID had gathered information directly from the farmers, from the offices of the sub-registrars on the land deals before the announcement of Amaravati as capital.
The report is likely to be submitted to the chief minister in the next couple of weeks following which the government is planning to resume the capital works, while pursuing the action to be taken against those involved in the insider trade.
The CID sleuths found that this ‘insider trading’ is said to have happened in Nelapadu, Thulluru, Dondapadu, Inavolu, Sakhamuru, Neerukonda, Kuragallu, Undavalli and Venkatapalem villages, where the key government buildings were proposed by the TDP government at a later date.
AP To Buy A Multi-Storeyed Tower At Tadepalli
The State government is actively considering to buy a multi-storeyed building at Tadepalli on the Kolkata-Chennai national highway to accommodate government offices.
The building located right on the NH close to the Kakakadurga Varadhi on river Krishna was identified and initial talks were held with the building owner.
The government is planning to buy this building and shift at least seven government offices, most of them are the offices of the Heads of Departments (HoDs), which are now located in various private buildings in Vijayawada, Gollapudi, Kanuru and Ibrahimpatnam, paying high rents.
Most of the private buildings are owned by private individuals, while some of them were taken on lease by the TDP leaders and were subsequently leased to the government at higher rentals, making huge profit.
Interestingly, most of the buildings leased to the State government HoDs in Vijayawada are owned by the TDP loyalists, who have been reaping huge benefits from the government.
The chief minister had reportedly told the senior officials to identify the HoDs located in the buildings of the TDP leaders or supporters and shift them to the new building, which is likely to be taken over by the government by December end.
The owner had quoted Rs 800 crore for the building, while the officials have started the price at Rs 700 crore.
The chief minister had told the officials to calculate the monthly rentals that the government is paying to each of these buildings and pool up that money to buy this building, besides going for loan with Hudco.
In Ibrahimpatnam, Gollapudi, Kanuru and Enikepadu areas in Vijayawada, the HoDs have advanced money to the site owners to construct multi-storeyed buildings for their offices.
The advanced amount is being deducted from the monthly rentals and the agreements were signed for a period of 10 years.
It is to be seen how the government would handle such cases, if the HoDs are to be shifted.
Jan 12: Direct Fight between Mahesh and Allu Arjun
Mahesh Babu and All Arjun are going to take box-office battle to a new level. Come Sankranthi, we will see both the top stars competing with each other with their respective films on the same day.
In a major turn of events, the makers of Allu Arjun and Trivikram’s “Ala Vaikunthapuramlo” and Mahesh Babu and Anil Ravipudi’s “Sarileru Neekevvaru” have unveiled the release date posters. Both posters carried Jan 12, 2020 as the release date.
GreatAndhra.com was the first to inform that “Ala Vaikunthapuramalo” will be hitting the screens on Jan 12, 2020.
Confirming the date, the producers have announced this date officially on Saturday evening. With two hours, Mahesh Babu tweeted the poster of “Sarileru Neekevvaru” confirming Jan 12 as its release date.
He even declared that this Sankranthi will be his biggest and most special release.
Why these two biggies are competing with each other directly? Why can’t they space out a release or maintain at least a day’s gap?
There is a reason. Rajinikanth’s “Darbar” is releasing on 10th January. Mahesh Babu had seen bad results with his previous films when they got released on Jan 10.
So he is keen on getting on 11th or 12th as the release date. Finally, he seems to have opted 12th. Moreover, the real festival mood begins on Jan 12th.
But if they premiere on the same day in the USA, distributors will suffer collections. So, they may force the makers to change the date at the last minute.
Let’s hope that better sense prevails.
