Puri Didn’t Have Rs 50,000 In Hand Before ‘Ismart Shankar’
Other day Puri Jagan donated 15 lakhs to 30 struggling assistant directors, giving 50,000 to each one, on the eve of his birthday. The event turned rather emotional, as Puri’s production partner Charmee revealed that they are in debts and financial troubles before ‘Ismart Shankar’ happened.
“Before Ismart happened, we don’t have money. Not even 50,000 in our pocket. But Puri sir said one thing to me: Today we don’t have money, but one thing which we have is our health. Let’s write stories and bring finance, and make a movie. We will see what happens, is what he said” articulated Charmi, adding that Puri has a courageous heart.
At the same time, she added that the helping hand has come through Ram Pothineni in the first place. “Ram was one hero who believed in Puri garu without any doubt. Without looking at how the story is, whether we are in bad position or flops, he gave a helping hand to us. We are grateful to him” said Charmme, indicating that their finances have improved terrifically after Ismart Shankar.
Puri’s help to struggling people working in the direction department of Telugu films is being widely appreciated now.

YS Jagan’s new rule: Hindu temples only for Hindus
In what can be a welcome decision, AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has passed orders that only Hindus will be appointed in jobs in Hindu temples. Whilst such policy is there in Tirumala where only Hindus are appointed in TTD, Jagan has decided to extend the similar policy to Hindu temples across the state.
In a GO issued by the state government, it is decided that only persons from Hindu religion are allowed to work in Hindu Temples and its departments. If there are any people from other religion working in Hindu Temples, as per the GO, such persons would be transferred to other departments. Since Jagan himself not belongs to Hindu religion and its belief system, his decision to allow only Hindus work in Hindu temples has become talking point.
This is in the wake of BJP’s AP unit which has been fighting against Jagan’s administration over the meted injustice to Hindus and Hindu Temples. BJP AP unit chief Kanna along with other state leaders have met Governor Biswabhusan and complained against the government’s move to take the lands of Hindu temples into its control. Amidst this, Jagan’s fresh move may cool AP BJP leaders.
Looks like, Jagan is trying to impress BJP leaders of the state and thus wants to be in the good books of Modi and Shah. Well, reasons apart, Jagan’s decision is welcome move as it would avoid any unwanted, untoward incidents like propaganda of other religion near Hindu temples.

Chanakya villain turns ‘Sye Raa’ voice
With Macho hero Gopichand’s upcoming movie ‘Chanakya,’ Bollywood actor Rajesh Khattar is making his debut in Telugu. He is playing the role of a villain and in the trailer we have seen him in as ‘Qureshi.’
In a span of 17 years, Rajesh featured in many films and is also a popular dubbing artist too. He had dubbed for many Hollywood heroes and now he is doing it for none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi. As we know ‘Sye Raa’ is releasing in Hindi too and Rajesh Khattar dubbed for Chiranjeevi.
This was revealed by ‘Chanakya’ director Thiru at the pre-release event held last night in Vizag.
When Rajesh graced the stage, he said he is waiting for an opportunity to make his debut in Telugu since long and it fulfilled with ‘Chanakya’ and he is grateful for director Thiru.
Rajesh also said that he dubbed for his role in Telugu and is looking forward for audience’s feedback.
Jagan seeks KCR’s help
Beleaguered state Andhra Pradesh is battling with a slew of odds including financial crunch, lack of investments, lack of employment besides the ambiguity over capital Amaravati and its projects. While reverse tendering of Polavaram and renegotiation of PPAs have already sent wrong signals to investors of the state, the truncated state is now facing coal shortage which in turn is affecting the power supply that is crucial for investments and companies to set up their plants in the state.
As coal shortage looms large in AP affecting the daily power supply, AP CM YS Jagan has written a letter to his Telangana counterpart KCR. In the letter, AP government has requested Telangana to increase the daily supply of coal to AP from the Singareni coal mines. Currently, four rakes of coal a day is being supplied to AP which is insufficient. Jagan has asked this to increase to nine rakes of coal supply a day.
AP is usually adequately equipped in general. Never before, AP has faced coal shortage. However, AP state government admitted that a series of incidents has pushed it to coal shortage for Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO).
According to a statement released by CMO, an accident had occurred in Bharatpur mines in Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) area in July that caused closure of the mine and followed by 15 days strike which adversely affected the coal supplies to APGENCO state thermal stations. Again, in the third week of September 2019, there was a strike in MCL mines for 3 days and in the Singareni mines for one day. With these, AP’s thermal stations are once again adversely affected as a result. Hence, AP is now seeking more coal from Telangana to overcome this shortage.
Pawan back to film: Will he, or won’t he?
Whenever there was news that power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan would stage a comeback into acting in films, he had been announcing that he won’t act in films again.
Despite his strong denials, the reports of Pawan returning to films have been surfacing again and again.
The reason for such speculations is none other than Pawan Kalyan himself.
Because, though he has been issuing statements that he won’t act in films again, he has been frequently holding talks with producers and directors.
Whenever there are appeals from anyone in the film industry asking him to act in films again, Pawan is just smiling without rejecting such appeals outright, thereby giving signals that he is ready to come back to films.
Moreover, he is being seen more at film functions than in political meetings. If Pawan doesn’t have any intentions to act in films, why should he entertain any director who wants to meet him?
Since he could not win even as an MLA, Pawan does not have much political activity to do. That could be the reason why he is evincing interest in films again.
At the same time, he is afraid that people might question his commitment to politics if returns to film industry.
But if Pawan is really interested in acting in films, it is better he takes a quick decision. Though he might face some negative comments initially, they would gradually die down after some time.
But if he is in two minds, the rumours against him would continue to make headlines!
Vijay Devarakonda Wasting His Talent?
It is true that Vijay Devarakonda has gained tremendous fan following among the youth. It is also true that his films have been able to get massive and guarantee openings only because of the craze he has among the college youth.
At the same time, Vijay has proved, through the huge success of his blockbuster film “Geetha Govindam,” that he has as well got a lot of following even among the family audiences. It does mean he has the talent that appeals to all sections of audiences.
Yet, Vijay appears to be giving preference to do only youth-oriented films.
He is of the view that youth are interested in seeing him rebel-type roles; so, he is doing more or less similar roles in his recent films.
He is asking the directors to create scenes that would show him with fully-grown beard.
Despite the failure of Dear Comrade, Vijay has not realised his mistake. If he does not act in films that entertain all sections of audiences while covering elements that attract youth, his craze among his fans will go waste.
Apparently, Vijay is forcing the directors to incorporate certain scenes that would keep away family audiences to watch his films in streaming aps.
Analysts say this is mainly because he doesn’t have a filmy background and also is surrounded by right people to guide him properly.
He is presently doing films with directors who are yielding diktats, but is not giving them a chance to command him.
Actress opens up on the importance of sex
Mumbai: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut feels instead of treating sex as a taboo topic, parents should encourage their wards to have responsible sex.
Disclosing that her parents were shocked when they discovered she had an active sex life, Kangana said, while it was important to have sex, one should not be obsessed with the idea of sex.
“Sex is an important aspect of everyone’s life. When you want sex, just have it. Don’t be obsessed. There was a time when you were told to marry someone, and your emotions were directed towards that person. In history, because of invasions, people’s ideas are still there, that our scriptures don’t allow sex. Parents should be happy with children having sex. Children should have responsible sex. My parents were shocked when they find out I was sexually active. Parents should encourage children to have sex,” said Kangana, according to a report in “pinkvilla.com”.
The actress was recently seen in the film “Judgementall Hai Kya”, which also featured Rajkummar Rao, Jimmy Shergill and Amyra Dastur.
Although the film fared below expectations, her performance was widely acclaimed. Kangana is right now preparing for her role in a biopic of the late Tamil Nadu politician J. Jayalalithaa. The actress also has Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s “Panga” coming up in 2020, besides the action thriller “Dhaakad”.

US BO: Sye Raa Set to Create a Storm
Last weekend, there were no Telugu releases at the box-office. The leftovers didn’t perform much.
“Valmiki”/“Gaddhalakonda Ganesh” has not added much to its total kitty last weekend. The film stands as a huge flop overseas though it is almost reaching the break-even stage in the domestic market.
Varun Tej’s previous multi-starrer “F2” grossed more than $2 million and this one closed its business below $400k.
Nani’s “Gang Leader” too has ended its run in the last weekend. It is closing its business at $940k.
It is also a loss project for the distributor as it was bought for a handsome price. It needed $1.12 million to get break-even.
Now all is set for the massive release of “Sye Raa”. The latest trend indicates an earth-shattering collection on Day 1 allover.
At the USA box-office too, the film will be opening big from the premiere shows itself. The trend of pre-sales shows that it will easily cross $1 million on the premiere day. At this moment, the film grossed about $375k from pre-sales.
Chiranjeevi’s previous film “Khaidi No 150” collected $1.29 million from premiere shows.
As USA box-office is going through a transition phase now, even if “Sya Raa” can able to draw $1 million haul from the premiere shows it would be considered a huge achievement.
