Some media organisations in Andhra Pradesh are holding a round-table conference on Thursday to discuss the latest “unofficial” ban imposed on two television news channels – ABN Andhra Jyothy and TV5, allegedly by the YSR Congress party government headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The organisers invited leaders of various political parties to the round table conference to express their solidarity with the two media houses and protest the alleged high-handed behaviour of the YSRC government.
As part of that, they invited Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan as well and initially, he is understood to have agreed to make it to the meeting, but later, he backed out.
He issued a statement saying he was not able to attend the round table conference as he was suffering from severe backache.
“I had suffered a spine injury during the shooting for Gabbar Singh and the doctors had advised me to go in for surgery. But I am managing with nature cure treatment which is still going on. I am not able to participate in public events,” he said.
Though Pawan’s problem might be genuine, his statement also led to speculations that he might be deliberately avoiding the round-table conference, as he did not want to support Andhra Jyothy MD V Radhakrishna.
Apparently, he was still upset with the negative campaign run by the daily and channel against him before the last elections.
“He attended several programmes in the recent past, including his own round table conference on Uranium mining and more recently, pre-release function of his brother Chiranjeevi’s film Sye Raa. How did he get back pain all of a sudden?” a scribe asked.
As promised to the people of tribal areas of Visakhapatnam during his padayatra before the last assembly elections, YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday ordered cancellation of bauxite mining lease in 1,520 acres of Visakhatpatnam agency areas.
A GO to this effect was issued on Thursday. The order said the mining lease granted for bauxite in Jarrela of Chintapalli reserve forests of Ananthagiri and Araku of Visakhapatnam district given in favour of Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) for a period of 30 years, was cancelled.
The government had earlier granted 30-year lease for mining bauxite in the agency area through three separate GOs and in the terms of reference has stated that the mining should be carried out after taking necessary clearances.
The two-year period for starting the work ended in January 2017 and the terms of the agreement could not be fructify on account of impossibility of performance due to recurring acts of violence in the area because opposition to the prospect of mining in tribal areas.
The public opinion and mood of the locals was against the mining of bauxite in tribal areas and the work did not commence due to violence and other untoward incidents.
The mining lease was in various parts of the agency area to APMDC which in turn had signed an MoU with private parties but could not carry out the task.
Deputy Chief Minister Minister for Tribal Welfare Pushpa Srivani had expressed her gratitude to the chief minister for keeping up his word and banning bauxite mining in tribal areas which will be remembered by Advasis for a long time to come.
“He’s trying to take up an old issue of Himaja and trying to corner me” accused Rahul Sipligunj. “All these days I’ve treated him as a brother and never pointed fingers at his aggression. Other day, popular Telugu writers BVS Ravi and Gopi Mohan have met Surya at the house of Mohan Babu near Shamshabad. After having a great lunch, the two writers are said to have narrated a story to the Tamil star, which they want to make it as his Telugu debut film. Though Surya hasn’t given immediate nod to the project, he’s excited to hear the next version of narration with full details and screenplay.
Among these two writers, already BVS Ravi directed two films including Wanted and Jawaan, while Gopi Mohan is trying to making his direction debut from a long as his debuting love story got shelved multiple times. It is heard that both want to direct the Surya film together in case if the hero agrees to be part of their story.
Guess what, none other than Mohan Babu might produce this film on his banner to come up with Surya’s first Telugu film.
The task is about getting bricks from the pool area and taking them through the house to the garden area in order to build a house. Whichever couple has many bricks in hand will be winning it.
While the ladies Vithika and Punarnavi tried to remain out of the task, Sreemukhi and Ravi put up super performance together by trying to build a house, taking bricks carefully. However, Rahul tried to snatch bricks from Varun and that led to chaos.
Rahul accused that Vithika tried to hurt him by pinching and scratching him, but Vithika shot back saying that he has pushed her violently, hence the retort. Though it could be seen on video that Rahul got into aggression to lift up Varun Sandesh and mow him down in order to snatch bricks away from him, the singer started defending that he didn’t put up any rude performance. Later both Varun and Rahul shouted at each other, through housemates tried to calm them down.
Later Varun accused that Rahul is no less than Ali Reza when it comes to hurting others in the task, and also confirmed that Rahul is not even following any rules they thought of following during physical tasks.
As usual, Punarnavi tried to mock others when there is a need for her to take a stand, as she started shouting that when Rahul-Varun are fighting, Sreemukhi and Ravi are winning the task.
Here’s some thrilling news for all the fans of Steven Spielberg’s epic creation, Jurassic World. Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, the original stars of Jurassic Park, are all set to reunite for Jurassic World 3, the next movie of the dinosaur film franchise.
While all the three actors appeared in the subsequent Jurassic movies separately, this is the first time since the 1993 film that they are again acting together. While Goldblum will reprise his role as Dr Ian Malcolm, Neill and Dern will reprise their roles as Dr Alan Grant and Dr Ellie Sattler.
Jurassic Park was an adaptation of the bestseller novel authored by Michael Crichton. The film went on to win 3 Oscars and broke all the existing box office records of that time. Jurassic World 3 will be the sixth Jurassic film. The film will be out in 2021. Colin Trevorrow will direct the movie and also co-produce it along with Steven Spielberg and others.

Some back to back disappointments at the box office have surely worried Nagarjuna Akkineni as he is now confused to take a decision on his next project. Though he thought films like Raju Gari Gadhi 2, DevaDas and Manmadhudu 2 would work, they have given him a huge shocker.
The moment Nagarjuna picked up Manmadhudu 2 over prosed sequel of Soggade Chinni Nayana, which is tentatively titled Bangarraju, many thought that he is keeping commercial movies aside. But with Manmadhudu 2’s result is so shocking that it didn’t even receiver 50% of its budget from the box office. That made Nagarjuna rethink about his strategies.
News has that, though Nagarjuna has called off Bangarraju, to be directed by Kalyan Krishna, he is now in two thoughts about it. He is said to have asked the director to finish all the pre-production work including getting songs from Anup Rubens for the movie. Though there is no clarity about going to sets, the Akkineni hero is making sure that he will have a project ready in hand.
On the other hand, there is no clarity over Naga Chaitanya joining him in this movie as Nagarjuna always wanted the sequel to be a multi-starrer.
During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Nizamabad Parliament was at the prime focus. Farmers of this region who got upset with politicians for not fulfilling their promises, contested the elections. Though over 500 farmers filed nominations, only 185 of them managed to contest. This showed a severe impact on the sitting MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha and eventually, she lost in a humiliating manner.
Taking inspiration from Nizamabad Lok Sabha poll, Huzurnagar by-election is also gearing for similar scenes. But this time it’s not the farmers, but the sarpanch of the villages are going to contest. About 251 sarpanch have reportedly made up their mind to contest and they are likely to file their nominations on September 29th and 30th respectively.
Not just sarpanch even advocates are getting ready to contest. In protest against transferring civil and criminal cases to Kodad court, lawyers have decided to contest the elections. About 30 advocates are expected to file nomination on Thursday and this means, Huzurnagar by-poll is going a tough one for all the major political parties.
Ruling TRS party is drawing all the strategies to win while TPCC chief Uttam took the by-poll as a prestigious one. BJP too is planning to field a strong candidate and surprisingly, Telangana TDP is also in thoughts to be in foray. By contesting, TTDP wants to protect its cadre and even if it retains the deposit, it will be a huge boost for the partymen.
Overall, Huzurnagar by-poll is not going to be a cake walk for political parties and we have to see who will emerge victorious. For now the edge is on Uttam Padmavati.
Comedian Venu Madhav breathed his last yesterday with multiple health issues and the Telugu Film Industry bid a teary goodbye to the popular comedian. The last rites of Venu Madhav are underway in Mouli Ali with family, friends and fans gathered around in large number.
Despite being in the cine world, Venu Madhav had always maintained his personal life very private. Not many know about this family. While passing away, he is survived with his wife Sri Vaani and two sons.
Venu Madhav named his sons as Madhav Swikar and Madhav Prabhakar. A picture of the comedian with his sons is getting widely shared on the social media and for the first time people got to see them. Especially there are seven major characters of various officers who played a major role in Uyyalwada Narasimha Reddy’s life. To pick these actors, the makers of Sye Raa went to London for a month and auditioned almost 100 actors.
To get the British accent perfectly and even to create the look-feel of the character effortlessly, Surender Reddy is said to have decided to use real Britishers for those roles. It’s not only expensive, but also a hard job to bring all of them to India and then to Georgia for shoots.
Director Surender Reddy is hopeful that all this hard work will be paid off on October 2nd as Sye Raa hits theatres.
Rajya Sabha MP D Srinivas is back in headlines. After the Lok Sabha elections, DS completely went silent, enjoying the success of his son Dharmapuri Aravind’s victory from Nizamabad. TRS boss KCR was supposed to take action on DS but did not take due to reasons best known to him.
Later rumours came that DS is looking at BJP and a meeting with Amit Shah intensified on his exit. But till date no such event took place while TRS is waiting for opportunity to throw him out of the party. Opening on the rumours for the first time, DS condemned that he is going to join the saffron party.
“There is no truth in me joining BJP. If at all there is a chance, I would have joined BJP long back. I met Amit Shah only to bring certain issues to his notice. There is nothing wrong in it,” said DS.
On his future in TRS, DS replied very diplomatically. “KCR had struggled a lot to pull me into TRS. About one and half years back, few people complained against me. I tried my best to explain the situation but KCR is too busy for me. I don’t think I will ever get a chance to meet KCR. People are watching everything,” added DS.

Hero Gopichand is betting a lot on his next titled ‘Chanakya’ and so is not hesitating to release the film amidst the storm like ‘Sye Raa.’
The film’s trailer is unveiled short while ago and it’s all guns, goons and Gopichand’s show. In two different roles i.e, as a bank employee and undercover raw agent, Gopichand looks superb but the plot in the visuals is a beaten to death formula.
Yet it is partly impressive as the director Thiru’s efforts are evident with high octane visuals. What’s to be noticed here is one of the cities of Pakistan, Karachi is the backdrop of it and terror dons reside here. Gopichand goes all the way and rest is to be watched on the big screen.
The producers seem to have spent a bomb as they are highly confident on the content and hope they get the desired result.
‘Chanakya’ is a vital film for Gopichand too as the hero did not score a proper hit since five years. So the date is October 5th for its release.
Mega Prince Varun Tej’s latest release ‘Gaddalakonda Ganesh’ made a terrific start at the box office. The opening weekend posted best figures in Varun Tej’s career but the collections have slowed down after a good first Monday and it’s the rains to be blamed.
For the last three days in Telangana especially in Hyderabad, it was a heavy pour down. ‘Gaddalakonda Ganesh’ which is yet to breakeven has pinned hopes on the collections of the weekdays. But with rain, audiences confined to their homes and the collections were dull. The film needs to collect at least Rs 25 crore from the Telugu states as from overseas and other states the numbers are not that encouraging.
However, this Friday and following weekend are the only chances for Ganesh to make big as ‘Sye Raa’ is slated for October 2nd release. By then majority of theatres and screens will take down the film and with minimal presence, the film can pull till Dasara holidays.
Simultaneously the team of ‘Gaddalakonda Ganesh’ is touring in the Telugu states to make sure the collection don’t get drop. The trade analysts are worried that in spite of getting a positive word of mouth, the film failed to mint money at the ticket counter which is disappointing.
