#BiggBoss3: Nominated Mahesh Turns Captain

Share

On episode 61 of #BiggBoss3, the best lecturer and best student from the ‘Bigg Boss College’ task are made to compete for ‘captain’ post. While Baba Bhaskar won Best Lecture title, Mahesh swept the Best Student award from housemates.

The task is actually convincing the housemates, to whom Bigg Boss has given some garlands, and winning the garlands from them. Most of the time, Mahesh used the card ‘I’ve never been captain, so I’ve to see myself as a captain’, while Baba Bhaskar kept saying, ‘I can do better as captain though he has no interest in that’.

Except for Vithika and Punarnavi, everyone garlanded Mahesh, leading to him becoming the captain for the first time. And that doesn’t save him from getting evicted if he gets the least votes and Himaja and Rahul Sipligunj also got nominated this week.

Ranveer Singh Takes The Fashion Game To A Crazy Level

Share

Bollywood’s Bajirao and heartthrob of many, Ranveer Singh is one of a kind. From being an actor to an amazing rapper, Ranveer is all about versatility. His energy, sense of humour and witty answers have always hit headlines. But there’s one more thing that makes him stand out in the crowd, his wardrobe.

His fashion sense is becoming bizarre and unusual day by day. Some might like it and some may not. But, is he ever gonna stop with these new experiments? Maybe not. There is no denying that he carries craziness with a panache. Some of his weirdest looks reflect his sense of style. He is synonymous with everything that doesn’t fit into a conventional way of dressing.

Some of his fashion outfits included rugged jeans, psychedelic printed shirts, skirts with pleats, harem pants, floral-printed shirts and all funked up vibrant colours in one go. He sometimes dresses like a jazzy magician or may appear will just regular home pyjamas. Nevertheless, his atrocious style proved him to stand out of the world.

He has never shyed away from experimenting with new and weird outfits. He defines the trend and took the fashion in his style. Eccentricity comes naturally to him and that is his charm. In fact, fashionistas will call him disastrous and his dressing sometimes looks out of place, but he is brave to work on his body. In fact, his recent appearance at IIFA 2019 was no different. Ranveer wore a quirky shirt and pants in a unique way of tying a red scarf like a bow and a tight ponytail.

Kodela Wish To Join BJP, Confirms BJP Leader

Share

The death of former speaker Kodela Siva Prasad is a hot topic in AP politics now. The Opposition TDP is continuously blaming the ruling YSRCP and claiming that Kodela’s death is a political murder. The other day TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu met Governor Biswabhushan Harichandana and demanded for CBI probe.

Countering Chandrababu’s demand, AP minister Botsa Satyanarayana criticized Naidu. “It was this Chandrababu who threw CBI out of Andhra Pradesh when he was CM and wonder why he is demanding CBI probe now. Chandrababu should also not forget that he is the one who made satirical comments on Governor position and now he met Governor,” said Botsa.

While these arguments are going on at one end, BJP brought up a new thing that, days before Kodela’s death, the former speaker wanted to join the saffron party. BJP leader Raghuram acknowledged that Kodela held talks with him and even sort the appointment of Amit Shah. “Things are not fine here in TDP. Being a senior leader, party has sidelined me,” is what Kodela reportedly told Raghuram.

Referring BJP’s comments, Botsa assumed that because Chandrababu kept Kodela at bay, the former speaker was upset and wanted to join BJP. “Now after the death, Chandrababu is politicizing the issue for the sake of sympathy,” added Botsa.

Sr Artist Thanks Boyapati For Re-energising Him

Share

One of the senior-most character artist in Tollywood right now is none other than Chalapathi Rao who has touched an age of 76 years. In the recent times, he is not seen in films much except Vinaya Vidheya Rama and the actor has a bitter thing to share about this.

During an interview, Chalapathi Rao shared that he met with an accident while filming for a movie of Sunil in Kerala. As he fell from a bus while getting down, he got ribs broken and leg fractured. Explaing that it took him a year to recover from the accident, the character artist thanked Boyapati Sreenu for helping him recover fast. So how does that happen?

When Rao is unable to move out without the support of a wheelchair, Boyapati insisted him to come to shoot of Vinaya Vidheya Rama in Bangkok such that the character artist will recover quickly from the illness as being on film set energises any actor. That way, by sitting in a wheelchair, Chalapathi did the role of ‘Babai’ in the Ram Charan starrer.

“I’ve to thank Boyapati for giving me that offer and forcing me to come all the way to Bangkok for shooting. They arranged a special lift for me to get into a plane here in Hyderabad and also in Bangkok. That way I’ve recovered six months ahead than I should” says Chalapathi, adding that he will next feature in Boyapati-Balayya movie in a lengthy role.

KCR and YS Jagan to meet again

Share

Telangana CM KCR and AP CM YS Jagan are likely to meet on September 24th over issues pertaining to the Telugu states. The agenda of this meeting is the interlinking of rivers and addressing the remaining bifurcation issues. Along with the CMs, irrigation officials of both the states and other officials are expected to participate.

In the past a committee was appointed to study the case of diverting Godavari water to Srisailam dam. Irrigation officials of Telangana and AP were made part of this committee but they proposed completely opposite recommendations. AP officials said that Telangana government should allot land for diverting the Godavari water while Telangana officials said, AP should build reservoirs and expand their canal’s size. With a difference in opinion, the committee failed to prepare a report.

Telangana CM KCR is said to be pushing this committee to come up with new proposals before he meets his counterpart. However, KCR is in thoughts of using Godavari water to the extend for Telangana and this might affect the Pattiseema project. So KCR and Jagan are considering to announce Pattiseema as a joint project of the Telugu states.

But this decision may invite controversy and AP TDP is questioning YSRCP’s stand which had opposed Pattiseema project in the past.

Kangana undergoes prosthetic measurements for ‘Thalaivi’

Los Angeles: Prepping to play late politician Jayalalithaa in her upcoming multi-lingual film “Thalaivi”, actress Kangana Ranaut recently underwent prosthetic measurements for the role in the US.

Posting on Twitter pictures in which the actress is seen covered in prosthetic glue, Kangana’s sister Rangoli wrote, “This is how measurements for prosthetics are taken, it’s not easy to be an actor. Kangana so calm in something, which is so suffocating for us to even watch.”

Hollywood-based prosthetics expert Jason Collins, renowned for films such as “Captain Marvel” and “Blade Runner 2049”, is working on Kangana’s look.

The film is being directed by A.L. Vijay, and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R.

‘Valmiki’ Review: Varun Steals the Thunder

Share

Ace director Harish Shankar’s “Valmiki” (the title has been changed to “Gaddhalakonda Ganesh” at the eleventh hour) starring Varun Tej has generated a lot of curiosity among the film buffs much since it went on to the sets.

The teaser and trailer of the film made everyone sit up and notice. And the remixed version of S Raghavendra Rao’s blockbuster number – “Elluvocchi Godaramma” has further raised the expectations of the audiences.

Let’s find out how far “Valmiki” lived up to the expectations.

Story:
An aspiring filmmaker Abhilash (Atharva Murali) decides to make a film about a dreaded gangster’s life. The gangster is Gaddhalakonda Ganesh (Varun Tej) who lives in Gaddhalakonda.

Abhi moves to this town and starts observing his activities and recording them in the hope to write an authentic story about a real-life villain.

Later, he gets acquainted with Ganesh and the gangster allows the director to make a picture on his life for the screen on the condition that he should be playing himself on screen. This leads to a melee of unforeseeable situations.

Artistes’ Performances:
The film out-and-out belongs to Varun Tej. As Gaddhalakonda Ganesh, he has given his career-best performance. He has transformed his looks and body language, and his acting is also an absolute delight. The dialogue delivery is sharp. He has put in a lot of effort. Atharvaa Murali as the aspiring filmmaker is impressive in his Telugu debut.

Pooja Hegde as Sridevi is another asset. Even though she appears in the latter part of the movie, she brings glamour to the screen in her limited portion.

Newcomer Mrunalini Ravi as Atharvaa’s love interest also looks promising. Sathya as Atharvaa’s friend provides some comedy.

Technical Excellence:
Music by Mickey J Meyer has given superb background score and catchy songs. This is his first out and out mass movie and he has come up with songs perfectly in sync with the genre.

“Waka Waka” stands out. Dialogues written by Harish Shankar are the main highlight. Bose’s cinematography is an asset.

Editing should have been sharper. The film’s pace is inconsistent.

Highlights:
Unique storyline
Varun Tej’s performance
Entertainment

Drawback:
Lengthy runtime
Inconsistent pace

Analysis
“Valmiki”/”Gaddhalakonda Ganesh” is an official remake of the 2014 Tamil movie “Jigarthanda.”

The original Tamil movie had an interesting concept: a filmmaker attempting to make a movie with a real-life gangster and facing consequences when the gangster wants to act as the hero.

The collusion of the world of filmmaking and the world of rowdies was an excellent idea and it had the superlative performance of Bobby Simha as the gangster that won him a national award.

Harish Shankar took the basic concept and changed a lot to suit the image of Varun Tej. The director even took credit for changes, not for the screenplay.

Like in the original, he begins the story with a filmmaker going to a gangster’s town and planning for his script. But unlike in the original, Harish Shankar has incorporated many fun elements and comedy sequences.

He has also incorporated the commercial angle. Many scenes have generated laughs. Equally, many scenes have not worked.

But the film has consistency in one part – the performance of Varun Tej. With a complete transformation, Varun Tej has not only got the act right but also ensured that he is very believable in the role. He holds the movie till the end with his acting.

While the middle portions have gone off the track, the movie starts working again with the final portions.

Harish Shankar has done some drastic changes to the original movie which have worked well for commercial reasons. The second half has an interesting back story for Varun Tej.

The love track of Varun Tej and Pooja Hegde is incorporated for commercial reasons but it is interesting. The song “Elluvocchi Godaramma” is worth all the hype. The final sentiment scenes and the transformation of a rowdy into a good person are also handled well.

On the downside, this is the overt commercialization of a good concept. The original Tamil movie has many great moments. It is a dark comedy that reeked with original ideas.

Though Harish Shankar has retained the basic structure and story, he has also turned this into a mass movie. Moreover, it is too lengthy.

Nevertheless, the film makes an entertaining watch for many reasons – the songs, the dialogues, and above all Varun’s performance. It is an okay watch.

Bottom-line: Mass Remake

Body found at Nagarjuna’s farm of a 2016 suicide: Police

Share

Hyderabad: The man, whose skeleton was found in the farm of popular Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Wednesday, had committed suicide in 2016, police said on Thursday.

Police identified the man as Chakali Pandu, 30, who had ended his life in a small dilapidated house in N-Agro Farms, which is spread over 50 acres of land in Papireddyguda village near Shadnagar.

A few persons who came to the farmhouse for plantation work late Wednesday found the highly decomposed body lying in the deserted house.

A case of death under suspicious circumstances was registered on Thursday at Kashmpet police station under Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shamshabad, Prakash Reddy, investigations were taken up on the basis of an Aadhaar card and photograph found in a purse near the body.

The deceased was identified as Pandu, a native of Papireddyguda village. His family members told police that he had left the house about three years ago, leaving behind a suicide note as he was depressed following the death of his elder brother due to a kidney-related ailment.

The family showed the suicide note to the police, in which wrote that nobody is responsible for his death and that none of his dreams came true. Pandu also wrote that he does not want to marry and have children. He also wished that Rs 19 lakh, which was his share from the sale of family property, be given to his mother.

Pandu’s family had apparently not lodged a complaint with the police.

Police said they were waiting for report of forensic experts to ascertain more details like how he committed suicide.

Today: Interesting Clash At The Ticket Windows

Share

Valmiki which is now renamed as Gaddhalakonda Ganesh is releasing today along with Suriya’s Bandobasth.

Varun Tej’s film with Harish Shankar has been making buzz ever since it was announced and the buzz only intensified as the film got closer to the release date.

The film is expected to take a good start in mass pockets given the look and feel of it. Harish Shankar knows how to play his cards and he got it right again with the lead actor’s makeover and the Elluvochi Godaramma remix.

Valmiki faced last minute tensions because of the objections against its title, but everything has been resolved now.

On the other hand, Suriya has been going through lean phase lately. It has been a while since his film has done well at the ticket windows.

However, Bandobasth got the backing of Dil Raju who ensured solid release for it in spite of competition.

Can Suriya bounce back with Bandobasth or will he make way for Gaddalakonda Ganesh?

BJP looking for aggressive face in Telangana?

Share

Bharatiya Janata Party, which is desperate to capture power in Telangana state in the 2023 assembly elections, is said to be looking for an aggressive leader who can lead the party to victory.

Though present BJP state president Dr K Laxman is an intellectual and has the capacity to attack the Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by K Chandrasekhar Rao, he is a soft person and cannot whip up passions among the people when it is required.

Particularly, the party is said to be looking for a person with strong RSS background and has a lot of following among the Hindutva groups which can rise to the occasion with a single call.

Such an aggressive leader should be in a position to galvanize the cadre across the state at a single call.

In any case, Laxman’s term will come to an end in December. He is mostly confined to Hyderabad and more so to Musheerabad.

But the party wants a person who can remove the stigma for the party of being a Hyderabad-centric party and make it a state-level party.

Though BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao was tipped to take over as the state BJP chief, he has not been very familiar with the state party activities till now, as he spent most of the time at the national level. Moreover, he, too, is a soft person like Laxman.

There is a talk that former Maharashtra governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao could be the best choice, but he is too old to take up the job and moreover, he is looking for a comfortable position in the party, rather than a big responsibility.

Though G Kishan Reddy could have been a right choice, but he has gone to Delhi as the Union minister.

He might be projected as CM candidate, but the party needs a strong leader to lead the party at the state level.

May be the party national leadership is looking for a strong leader like D K Aruna, who has a mass appeal. But she is a new comer into the party.

So, the search is still on!

Ground Report: Naidu was silent then, violent now

Share

Strange are the ways of Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu. A shrewd and Machiavellian politician with four decades of public life, Chandrababu Naidu is known for making his moves to benefit his career first and the party next.

He is now busy beating the drums for late Kodela Sivaprasada Rao. He is living the whole week from Monday, on the dead body of Kodela, as he stretches his political activity even after the cremation of the late leader.

Chandrababu Naidu and his party leaders have met AP Governor and submitted a representation seeking action against the YSR Congress government for subjecting Kodela to humiliation on false cases.

He also sought CBI enquiry into the causes of the death of Kodela.

Later, before offering a lavish and delicious lunch for the media persons in a 5-star hotel, Chandrababu Naidu justified Kodeal’s action in taking Assembly furniture to his camp office.

He also made similar allegations against the YS family for misusing the government and public properties.

But the big question is why was Naidu silent on those days when Kodela was being nailed for taking the Assembly furniture?

Why did he not allow even his party leaders to speak for Kodela? Why did he or his party leaders not visited Kodela even when the leader was in the hospital?

Where were these statements of the justification of the Assembly furniture having in the camp office of the Speaker?

Naidu and his party leaders were silent when Kodela was fighting the battle against furniture allegations and was being humiliated in the social media. He had no support then.

However, after the death, Kodela found several supporters for his actions, including Chandrababu Naidu.

The TDP chief is now going violent against the ruling party in support of Kodela.

He is taking the issue even to the Raj Bhavan for political battle, while the family members are busy taking the ashes to the rivers for immersion.

This is what is called Naidu style of politics.

Administrative Reforms, Jagan’s Style

Share

The Andhra Pradesh state is witnessing a major administrative reform, which will be rolled out on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who had a dream for Gram Swaraj.

The State government will start introducing Village Secretariats from October 2, where the government employees are available for the people at their door step.

People need not travel to the mandal headquarters to get things done by the officials, where Tahasildar is presiding over the administration.

The administrative reform, this way was first introduced by late N T Rama Rao, who scrapped the Taluq system and brought in the Mandal system.

The Taluqs, which were too far, 50 km in some cases, were not in the reach of the people.

They were divided into at least four mandals and thus NTR brought the administration to the range of 5 km from the 50 km. NTR is now remembered for this reform, besides others.

Moving one step forward on this line, Jaganmohan Reddy had taken the secretariat to the villages, where in every secretariat there will be the representatives of 12 to 14 departments attending to the services of the people. Thus the government had come as close as 500 meters for the households.

This is one of the finest administrative reforms as the government had come down from 50 km before NTR to 500 meters in the regime of Jaganmohan Reddy.

However, it is to be seen how this nearest government serves the people. This would depend on how sincere and honest the employees are in doing their duties.

Finally, giving 1.26 lakh jobs, not outsourcing or contract, is a great move that requires to be appreciated, cutting across the political affiliations.
