Ayushmann Khuranna is currently the most bankable stars in Bollywood Cinema. He has been on a roll since Bareilly Ki Barfi and is simply unstoppable at the box office.

He is picking risky characters and pulling off them with ease. His latest film Dream Girl turned out to be a runaway hit by reaching hit status within the first week of its theatrical run.

Dream Girl is poised to collect Rs. 70 Cr nett in its first week. This is the sixth hit in a row for Ayushmann who is playing a variety of characters ranging from sperm donor to a man suffering with erectile dysfunction to cross-gender.

The singer turned actor has become a massive crowd puller just with his choice of scripts.

Ayushmann is playing a youngster suffering with pre-mature baldness in Bala and a homosexual in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.

While other actors are struggling to find interesting characters, Ayushmann is working round the clock and still finding interesting scripts and characters in each film.

Ayushmann’s recent films Andhadhun and Badhai Ho are going to be remade in Telugu soon.

Trade: Gang Leader Struggling In Week Days

Nani’s Gang Leader had a fairly decent first weekend at the box office despite below average to average reports.

However, the film’s collections witnessed a huge drop on its first Monday and the trend continued on Tuesday. This is not a good sign with two movies lined up for release on this Friday.

Popularity of Nani has helped Gang Leader to post decent collections in the first weekend, but the weak content has started showing its effect during week days.

Gang Leader is arguably the weakest film of Vikram Kumar to date. The director who is known for innovative ideas and screenplay has tried to make a movie that appeals to wider section of audience and clearly proved that this is not his cup of tea.

The woes of Mythri Movie Makers hasn’t ended with Gang Leader as they are still struggling to find a way out of the hole that they had dug into with mid-range movies.

They are yet to deliver a clean hit post Rangasthalam, which went on to become Non-Baahubali industry hit. Their maiden production Srimanthudu was also a Non-Baahubali industry hit at that time.

Mamata Banerjee gifts a saree to Modi’s wife

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was about to fly to New Delhi, yesterday on September 17, had an impromptu meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wife Jashodaben at Kolkata airport. Soon after they saw each other, they greeted and had a few minutes of polite conversation.

Mamata Banerjee also reportedly gifted Jashodaben a traditional saree. Modi’s wife was in Kolkata to visit Dhanbad in neighbouring Jharkhand. She also offered prayers at the Kalyaneswari temple at Asansol in Bengal.

The chance of meeting pictures of Mamata with Jashoben before boarding Delhi flight are going viral now. Today, Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to meet PM Modi in New Delhi. She is expected to take up issues like funds for her state.

As we know, on Tuesday, Narendra Modi celebrated his 69th birthday and Mamata Banerjee wished PM in a tweet in the Bengali language, “Birthday greetings to Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji,” Ms Banerjee, an arch-critic of PM Modi”.

According to a report in Times Of India, the microblogging site felt that Janasena is trying to mass influence people with their spamming campaign. So what is that massive mass campaign that led to the suspension of Janasena twitter accounts now?

Well, since last week, Janasena is actively protesting against the Uranium mining in Nallamala region under the hashtag #SaveNallamala. Reports are coming that Janasena’s very own Shatagni team account has tweeted thousands of times about this. As Twitter got reports filed by people that Janasena accounts are creating a false image about mining, which is a violation of Twitter’s terms.

This is leading to doubts that highly powerful people in Central Government and people related to the mining of Uranium might have got worried about Pawan Kalyan’s campaign, and hence they complained to Twitter that way. This story is building up along with other rumours that YS Jagan’s men have exerted their power to restrict Janasena on Twitter as the Pawan Kalyan led party became the voice of dissent against YSRC from some time.

TRS may contest Assembly polls in Maharashtra

Hyderabad: Telangana’s ruling TRS is likely to expand to Maharashtra and contest ensuing Assembly elections in that state in the areas bordering Telangana.

People including elected representatives from various villages in Nanded district are demanding their state government to either implement the welfare schemes of Telangana or allow their villages to be merged with the Telugu state.

Affiliated to several political parties, they also decided to contest the forthcoming Assembly elections with this demand. They called on Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao here and sought his support for their agitation.

They said they are ready to contest the polls on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) tickets.

Those who met the TRS chief include leaders from Nalgaon, Bhokar, Degloor, Kinwat and Hathgaon Assembly segments in Nanded district bordering Telangana. The delegation was led by sarpanch of Babli, Babu Rao Ganapath Rao Kadam, who is leading the movement for merging the villages with Telangana, according to Chief Minister’s Office.

The Chief Minister said besides people from five Assembly segments from Nanded district, people from Bhiwandi, Sholapur, and Rajara are also seeking TRS tickets. He said a decision would be taken on this shortly.

KCR, as Rao is popularly known, said that the demand for the implementation of welfare schemes like in Telangana is rational and hoped that the Maharashtra government would accede to the demand.

Those who met the Chief Minister said the conditions in their villages are very different compared to Telangana. They lauded the schemes being implemented in Telangana like financial assistance to farmers, social security pension and the financial help for marriage of poor girls.

The leaders from Nanded district said that in the past, 40 villages in the Dharmabad taluk passed a resolution demanding that their villages be merged with Telangana.

Following this, the Maharashtra government had declared Rs 40 crore grant for these villages but so far not a single rupee has been released.

They said they will soon come with leaders from Congress, BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP to meet KCR.

Prabhas to Shoot Jaanu twice?

Prabhas has moved on from “Saaho” that gave him mixed results. The action-adventure cemented his popularity in the Hindi market. But it has failed to create a sensation in the Telugu states.

He has assessed the overall result of “Saaho” and is now focusing on his next film under production. Tentatively titled “Jaanu”, the period drama is largely set in the backdrop of Europe.

Amidst rumors that Prabhas is planning to shelve the project and start a new movie in its place, he is now planning to make an official announcement. The film will commence the shoot after November.

The result of “Saaho” has not disappointed him. But some changes are going to be incorporated in the script. This is the reason why he has stalled the shoot for two months.

“Jaanu” will also be shot in Hindi and Telugu separately. Hindi market has become crucial for Prabhas.

The Telugu version will have a separate comedy track while the Hindi version will have some exclusive scenes that appeal to the North Indian audiences. So, a chunk of the movie will be shot two times differently.

The film is also being produced by UV Creations and it has Pooja Hegde as the heroine. The movie is directed by Radha Krishna Kumar of “Jil” fame.

People of Andhra want to merge with T’gana: YSRC MLA

Hyderabad: Panyam YSRC MLA Katasani Rambhoopal Reddy said that even now the people of Andhra Pradesh wish to merge with Telangana state.

Rambhoopal Reddy said that it is not correct to say that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was copying his Telangana state counterpart K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

He said the AP CM was following in his father Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s footsteps.

The legislator on Tuesday came to the Telangana state Assembly to meet municipal minister K.T. Rama Rao.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Mr Rambhoopal Reddy said that after state bifurcation, injustice is being done to Rayalaseema and that if Godavari and Krishna rivers are linked it would be useful for both states.

Why was Dil Raju ignored in TTD list?

Celebrity film producer Dil Raju, who had been eagerly waiting to get the nomination for the prestigious Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams membership for the last two months, was thoroughly disappointed when the list was out.

Dil Raju, a staunch devotee of Lord Venkateshwara of Tirumala, is learnt to have made serious lobbying for the TTD membership post.

Such was the devotion he has for the Tirumala god was that he had named his production house as Sri Venkateshwara Creations and has been donating huge sums of money to TTD for many years.

Using his proximity to the Telangana government, Dil Raju, who hails from Nizamabad district, thought he would get nomination for the TTD trust board membership, so that he would get an opportunity to serve his favourite god.

He used his good offices with K T Rama Rao, who apparently promised him to fulfill his wish under Telangana quota.

Apparently, Dil Raju also thought his community tag (His real name is V Venkata Ramana Reddy, also related to Lord Venkateshwara of Tirumala), would also come to his help.

However, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had others in mind.

He recommended two persons of his own Velama community – Jupally Rameshwara Rao of My Home Group and D Damodar Rao of Namasthe Telangana daily and ignored Dil Raju. And Jagan had no choice but to accept KCR’s recommendations.

Apart from the two Velama leaders, Jagan has picked up three others – Putta Pratap Reddy, who unsuccessfully contested as YSRC candidate from L B Nagar Constituency in 2014 assembly elections, Hetero Drugs Chairman Bandi Parthasarathy Reddy (who was one of the co-accused in Jagan’s quid pro quo case) and K Shiva Kumar, who had actually registered the YSR Congress party with the Election Commission.

When will Rana Daggubati land in Hyderabad from the USA and join the film shoots?

The makers of “Virataparvam” are still clueless about his arrival as he is still undergoing treatment in the USA. Rana went to the USA three months ago for his treatment for the kidney-related ailment.

In July, surgery performed on Rana by a renowned nephrologist at a famous hospital in Chicago and since then he has been staying in the USA to recuperate.

Although he was able to regain the energy to all chores on his own and to travel within the USA in a week, the doctors advised him not to leave for India until they think that he recovered completely.

So, the team of “Virata Parvam” which planned a long schedule with Rana from the second week of September has canceled it. They are continuing to can the sequences with heroine Sai Pallavi.

They cannot shoot further without the presence of Rana since the movie is all about the romance between a Naxalite played by Rana and a folk singer (Sai Pallavi) in the troubled times of the 1990s in rural Telangana.

The team is expecting that he would come to Hyderabad later this month.

However, Rana is interacting with several filmmakers over the phone for the next productions.

Twitter suspends 300 accounts of Jana Sena Party

Vijayawada: Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena party has a bigger presence on social media than other political outfits of Andhra Pradesh have.

Jana Sainiks are quite active on Twitter. However, the party got a shock from the micro-blogging site as it has banned about 300 accounts belonging to the party men.

The accounts were suspended for posting the content that is against Twitter’s guidelines. These accounts spammed Twitter with content that breached the social media etiquette.

The biggest jolt is the party’s popular account Shatagni has been lost. Shatagni account had become the almost official voice of Pawan Kalyan and Jana Sena. Losing this account is a huge blow to the party.

The party is now left with mere 100 accounts that have a good number of followers.

As per Twitter’s policy, if anyone tries to ‘influence conversations through the use of multiple accounts or fake accounts can attract a suspension.’

The party members say their voice was muted as they ran the #SaveNallamala campaign.

‘Pooja Hegde will be a complete surprise’

Pooja Hegde shared pictures of herself as ‘Sridevi’ in Valmiki, which is a remake of Tamil film Jigarthanda.

Describing Pooja’s character in the movie, director Harish Shankar told media that she plays a crucial role in the second half of the film and that she’ll be ‘a complete surprise.’

He told media, “Pooja Hegde is the most important character in the second half, she will be a complete surprise. That is why I am not revealing much about her. However, her character and song are only put in because the story demands it, not for commercial reasons.”

Valmiki also features actors Varun Tej and Atharvaa and the film is slated for September 20 release.

Pooja Hegde debuted on the big screen with 2012 Tamil film Mugamoodi and two years later she featured in her first Telugu film Oka Laila Kosam.

Pooja Hegde made her Bollywood debut opposite Hrithik Roshan in 2016 film Moehnjo Daro, which failed miserably at the box office.

Pooja Hegde has also worked with Allu Arjun in Duvvada Jagannadham and with Mahesh Babu in Maharshi, which released earlier this year.
