Buzz: Pooja Charged A Bomb For Akhil’s Film

Share

Of late, this dusky siren is emerging as one of those highest paid and sought after actresses in Tollywood. She is none other than Pooja Hegde who is currently shooting for Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikuntapuramlo and will soon join the sets of Akhil’s next film being directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar.

Apparently, Pooja Hegde is getting offers big time and also the remuneration she is demanding is quite huge. For Akhil’s film, reportedly the makers are said to have paid her 1.25 crores and that is quite high considering her current stature as a heroine. She is yet to reach a stage like a Samantha or Kajal where fans go berserk for her, but still lack of hotties makes her the most sought after, says a source in the know.

Earlier Pooja demanded and got paid a bomb in the same way for Valmiki movie as well, where she has given only 10 days of dates after taking huge paycheck. Along with upcoming Valmiki, Pooja has Prabahs’ next, Bunny-Trivikram film and now Akhil’s movie in hand.

‘Accidents Due To Good Roads’

Share

In a shocking and bizarre remark, Karnataka deputy CM Govind Karjol said accidents occur due to good roads but not because of bad condition. This deputy holds the portfolio of Public Works Department and social welfare. His comments came when there is a chaotic response from all over the country on the new Motor Vehicle Act 2019 and citizens are demanding good roads first and go for penalty.

Reacting on the uproar, Govind Karjol said, “Every year, around 10,000 accidents are reported in Karnataka. A majority of the accidents occur on highways. The media blames it on bad roads. But, I believe it is due to good roads.”

Maybe as per his analysis, people drive rashly on the highway and so the mishaps takes place. But this statement is neither completely deniable nor agreeable and we must take out many instances where people lost their lives due to fast and rash driving.

On the heavy penalties, Govind said the government will discuss this in the cabinet and will try to bring them down. “I don’t support levying high fines. We will make a decision on the revision of the fines during cabinet meeting,” added Karjol.

Lady Comedian’s Shocking Transformation

Share

Tamil girl Vidyulekha Raman needs no introduction to Telugu audiences after her rib-tickling comedy roles in movies like Run Raja Run and Sarrainodu, as they got her closer to them. And now, she’s getting ready to give a shocker for all of her admirers.

For some reason, Vidyu doesn’t want to get popularised for her chubby fat looks it seems and she has given up all that. Hitting the gym to pump heavy iron and putting herself under a strict diet, the comedian has lost oodles of weight now. Going by her current looks, one could not stop themselves asking her if she is game for heroine roles now.

Ironically, film industries kept chubby guys like Sunil, Master Bharat, Shamili and others out of offers once they lost oodles of weight and stunned with a new physique. So in case if this lady comedian becomes more successfully after losing the weight, then surely she is going to create a record for all.

Back in August, when rumours erupted that Vidyu is not signing Tamil films she clarified that actually Telugu filmmakers are offering her better characters, but then revealed that she will be seen in the same role in the Tamil remake of Telugu hit Ninnu Kori, which features Atharva and Anupama in the same role.

She will be next seen in Telugu film Venky Mama.

Adhe Chaitu Adhe Rashmika

Share

It is a big surprise when a popular entertainment channel itself reveals breaking news that it was supposed to do much later. Today such thing happened in Tollywood with Gemini TV announcing that they have bagged the satellite rights of an upcoming film featuring Naga Chaitanya and Rashmika Mandanna in the leads.

Producer Dil Raju is actually doing a film titled ‘Adhe Nuvvu Adhe Nenu’ which happens to be a remake of Turkish film by a debutante director for launching TDP MP Jayadev Galla’s son Ashok. But that film is not happening for unknown reasons and the same content went to Raj Tarun which features Shalini Pandey as the female lead. It looks like now a new film is being made by Dil Raju with Chay and Rashmika, with that unused titled.

Though more details of the project are not yet revealed, it is being heard that Dil Raju will make the news official very soon.

For A Change, TRS MLA To Jump Into BJP?

Share

Even after securing a good majority, TRS boss and CM KCR is not satisfied. So he pulled most of the Congress MLAs. With Congress and TDP MLAs on their side, TRS strength in the Assembly is nearly 110.

But for a change, a TRS MLA is all set to join BJP. This is seriously a big twist and major setback for KCR. The MLA is Shakeel from Nizamabad Bhodan constituency. Shakeel met Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Aravind on Thursday and discussed the current political situations in the state. Aravind has asked the details of TRS MLAs who are upset for not getting cabinet berth. After the meeting, the Shakeel quietly left the pace without talking to the media. But reliable source say that in a week or two, the TRS MLA will join BJP.

This should be considered as a serious aspect as Shakeel is one of the close aides of former Nizamabad MP Kavitha. Also, he is the only MLA from the Muslim community in TRS and for obvious reasons, he expected a cabinet place. Unfortunately, he was not inducted and also with Kavitha losing, Shakeel stayed away from TRS party activities in the recent times.

Cashing this opportunity, BJP which is doing ‘Operation Akarsh’ in Telangana, called on Shakeel and held talks. Nizamabad MP Aravind who is very aggressive against TRS, negotiated well and convinced Shakeel to join BJP. Seems like the saffron plans are working.

Gangleader New Trailer: Irresponsible ‘REVENGERS’

Share

All said and done, Natural star Nani’s ‘Gangleader’ is all set for a grand release tomorrow. The makers are still doing the last minute promotions as their exuding super confidence on the content.

A 30 seconds trailer is released shortly and it is yet another hilarious one. ‘Gangleader’ touted to be a revenge drama with entertainment as its’ core theme is the exact of this trailer. In a rain when Nani and his gang wait for their enemy, we expect some gruesome scenes and hard-hitting dialogues.

The protagonist ‘Pencil’ says, “Oka Durmargudiki Chaavu Daggara Padutunna Timelo, Vaathavarnam Ila Gambhiranga Maaripothundi…” After this dialogue we do want something else, but director Vikram Kumar adds that none can imagine.

Stunned by his gang members, Pencil scolds them with “Irritating, Irresponsible Revengers.” This is just a scene and there could be whole lot more.

With such elements what can’t wait to watch this film. Nani’s ‘Gangleader’ is on the verge, good luck!

Reddy & BC war in Telangana BJP!

Share

The issue of appointing a new president for Telangana state unit of BJP has led to caste war in Telangana BJP.

Reddys and BCs are competing with each other to secure these post on ‘caste grounds’.

Reddy BJP leaders claim that Reddy caste is a dominant political force in Telangana state since decades and only a Reddy leader can bring BJP to power in Telangana in 2023 Assembly polls.

BCs on the other hand counter this saying that Reddy’s have lost their prominence in state politics long ago and with the downfall of Congress in Telangana, the Reddy’s chapter in Telangana in politics is over.

AP Jithender Reddy from TRS, DK Aruna from Congress from Reddy community joined BJP in Telangana.

Jithender Reddy is bringing pressure on BJP national leadership to appoint him as state president.

On the other hand, BJP firebrand leader from Karimnagar Bandi Sanjay, who defeated KCR’s close aide B Vinod Kumar in Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat in recent polls, is lobbying hard to secure the state president post.

Bandhi Sanjay is a BC hailing from Munnur kapu community.

The incumbent president Dr Laxman is also a BC and he wants high command to continue him for another term since BJP bagged four Lok Sabha seats recently under his leadership, which was not expected by anyone.

The new president is expected to be appointed in December and it remains to be seen whether a Reddy or a BC makes it to this coveted post.

Amazon’s largest global campus Hyd’s latest landmark

Hyderabad: Built with over 2.5 times more steel than the Eiffel Tower, a built-up area spanning about 65 football fields, a helipad and 49 elevators which move one floor per second, e-commerce giant Amazon’s largest campus building in the world is the latest landmark in Hyderabad.

Built in the Financial District, a key IT cluster, this campus with 1.8 million square feet office space is Amazon’s first owned office building outside the US and its single largest building globally.

Spread over 9.5 acres, this 282-feet tall building can house more than 15,000 employees.

The massive campus, built amid the gleaming towers of various corporate giants, is equipped with 49 elevators, which can move a floor per second. Built on three million square feet of construction area, it is also Amazon’s single largest building in the world in terms of area.

Amazon officials say the total built-up area, when spread out, will span over 68 acres or approximately 65 football fields. Out of total built-up space, 1.2 million square feet is earmarked for recreation and parking.

“The campus contains over 2.5 times more steel than the Eiffel Tower, measured by weight,” revealed Amazon Vice President and Global Real Estate and Facilities Director John Schoettler at the inauguration of the facility recently.

Interfaith prayer rooms, a mother’s room, quiet rooms, showers, helipad and an all-day open cafeteria are some of the key features of the campus, built in a short span of three years. The company officials say the structure is designed to facilitate inclusion and diversity.

It also features casual, collaborative workspaces, as well as private areas for concentration and confidentiality.

“Every detail is aimed at improving well-being and efficiency, from Destination Control Systems to manage elevators that can move 972 people simultaneously, to 290 conference rooms and 3 scrum areas per floor to foster collaboration,” the company said.

As many as 2,000 persons were on site every day for 39 months to construct the building, spending 18 million man-hours.

Last year, the construction was awarded the Golden Trophy and Certificate from National Safety Council for safe construction process.

The building meets stringent safety standards, with 110 km of fire protection system conduits.

The campus has one conference room seat for every 3.25 workstations, higher than the global ration of 1:5.

With sustainability at its core, the campus has more than 300 trees dotting its grounds with three specimen trees aged over 200 years. It also has a 850,000 litre water recycling plant.

The company officials declined to divulge the investment made in this campus but said hundreds of millions of dollars were spent to create the facility.

Stating that the facility reaffirms their long-term commitment to India, they pointed out that Amazon already announced $5 billion investment in the country and another 500 million dollar in food retail.

Amazon already houses its largest India fulfillment centre in Hyderabad. Spread over four lakh square feet, the centre is located near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The company last month announced that it will be expanded to 5.8 lakh square feet.

Hyderabad is already home to giants like Microsoft, Google, Apple, Facebook, Deloitte, Accenture, TCS, Wipro and Infosys.

After Apple Inc opened its development centre in 2016, IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao had declared that Hyderabad became home to four of the top five most valued tech companies to have their largest offices outside the US.

Software giant Microsoft already has largest presence in Hyderabad outside their headquarters in the US.

Search giant Google also plans to build its biggest campus outside its US headquarters. Coming up on 7.2 acres in the Financial District, it is expected to house 13,000 employees. An agreement for this was signed between Google and the Telangana government in 2015

Pahilwaan Review: Mix of Masala Movies

Share

‘Eega’ fame Sudeep starrer ‘Pahilwan’ is one of the most awaited films of this year. After impressing the audience with the trailer, the multi-lingual movie hit the screens today.

Let’s analyze.

Story:
Sarkar (Suniel Shetty) raises an orphan Krishna and makes him a good wrestler. Krishna (Sudeep) is being trained to win the national championships.

Like Sarkar, he vows to be a bachelor but his heartbeat gets skipped when he sees Rukmini (Aakanksha Singh), who is the daughter of a rich businessman.

Sarkar gives a promise to Rukmini’s father that he will make Krishna not to disturb her.

Krishna beating up local leader Rana (Sushanth Singh) in a regional-level wrestling competition and marrying Rukmini leads to a huge rift with Sarkar.

The rest of the movie is how Krishna wins the championship and regains his bond with father-figure Sarkar.

Artistes’ Performances:
Sudeep as Pahilwaan Krishna is impressive. He has that body of a wrestler and his macho acting has worked well as per his characterization. However, this is a typical mass role that offers nothing new.

Erstwhile Bollywood hero Suniel Shetty is believable in the role of a guiding force to Sudeep.

Aakanksha Singh as the lead actress, Sushant Singh as a villain Raja Rana Pratap Varma and Kabir Duhan Singh as wrestler Tony have played clichéd roles in a corny manner.

Technical Excellence:
The film is made with rich production values for a Kannada production. Largely set in a village, the movie mostly focused on wrestling fights, which are shot well.

‘Kanne Pichuka’ is the only notable song. The screenplay is predictable.

Highlights:
Sudeep
Final portions

Drawback:
Yawning first half
Cliched Storyline
Boring romantic thread
Old style narration

Analysis
After winning the hearts of the Telugu audiences as an antagonist in Rajamouli’s ‘Eega’, Kannada superstar Sudeep has become a well-known face here.

‘Pahilwaan’ is the first pan-India movie for him. Sudeep is one of fittest male stars in India and the story of a wrestler is apt for him.

Director Krishna has done his homework right as per as picking up the characterization of a wrestler for Sudeep but he has erred in writing the engaging screenplay.

The scenes and situations may appeal to the core Kannada fan base of Sudeep but when the film is pitched as a Pan-India movie, the writing department and the director should have come up with a better romantic thread as well as emotional sequences that would connect to the larger audiences.

Devoting the entire first half to establish the bond between Suniel Shetty, Sudeep with hackneyed situations and weaving an outdated romantic track between Sudeep and Aakanksha has spoiled the interest.

Luckily, the film gets its real momentum after the interval when the emotional gulf happens between Sudeep and Suniel Shetty.

The wrestling fights in the later portion area also very appealing since the emotional angle is added here unlike in the first half.

The first half gives us the impression that the movie is all about winning the championship but it soon turns into a serious drama with a social message. This has changed the overall impact of the movie for good.

Before appreciating the final portions, you have to bear all the lousy scenes in the beginning and outdated comic situations.

The film eventually becomes a ‘Bhadrachalam’ meets ‘Sultan’ meets ‘Kick’. Nevertheless, it has worked to an extent in the penultimate portions.

“Pahilwaan” is a film targeted for mass audiences and it is filled with such sequences that are good. But the rest of the drama is full of formulaic.

On the whole, “Pahilwaan” is a mishmash of several Telugu and Hindi movies in the backdrop of wrestling. This is strictly for mass audiences.

Bottom-line: Pahilwan Punch

Reel Buzz: Allari Ravi Babu’s Frog Act

Share

Noted maverick Filmmaker ‘Allari’ Ravi Babu is known for his out of the box movies produced on his production company name “Flying Frog Productions” and used to co-produce all his movies with Tollywood bigwig D Suresh Babu.

But due to unknown reasons, he suddenly did a frog act by jumping from Suresh Babu camp to Dil Raju camp.

His latest movie AAVIRI is now presented by Dil Raju. This has become talk of the filmnagar. Too Many Gossips are going around the production houses about this development.

Some source close to Ravi Babu said, the unreasonable financial calculations and conditions by Suresh Babu have irritated Ravi Babu to take this drastic decision.

He also said that Ram Mohan who previously produced movies Ashta Chamma, Uyyala Jampala etc along with Suresh Babu has also jumped from Suresh Babu’s camp.

Some other source says that Suresh Babu always keeps others in risky zone to keep himself safe.

One top distributor in Nizam said, there is huge demand for small movies with appealing content as theatres need a good movie every week.

Small movies have worked in a very big way in last 3 years and Suresh Babu got benefited by distributing small movies.

But because of some irritating conditions by Suresh Babu, these filmmakers are looking at other stalwarts like Dil Raju and Allu Arvind who are also very much interested in distribution of small movies.

This indeed a great news to the small Filmmakers with good content. But, We have to wait and see where this silent war between big distributors will lead to.
