AP HC judge to preview major infrastructure projects

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh High Court judge, Justice B. Siva Sankara Rao will head the Judiciary Preview Committee, which will preview all infrastructure projects valued Rs 100 crore and above before inviting tenders.

The state government on Wednesday appointed Justice Rao on the recommendation of the Chief Justice of the high court.

According to a government order, Justice Rao’s term will be for three years from the date of assuming office.

The appointment has been made in accordance with the State Infrastructure (Transparency through Judicial Preview) Act, 2019.

Under the Act passed in July, all contracts worth Rs 100 crore or above will be brought under judicial preview to ensure transparency in big-ticket deals.

The committee will review all projects including Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects to ensure conformity in procedure rules and guidelines.

The government will place all documents related to the project before the panel. The committee will put the tender related documents in public domain for a week and invite suggestions.

After preview and discussions, the judge may suggest modifications which will be binding on the government.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had said during debate on the Bill in Assembly that the move will erase the image of corruption the state had acquired by the misdeeds of the previous government.

English to be medium of instruction in AP govt schools

Amaravati: All government-run schools in Andhra Pradesh will have English as the medium of instruction from class 1 to 8, Chief Minister Y S. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced on Wednesday.

The government will impart the necessary training to teachers to meet the changing needs, and as part of this exercise, nearly 70,000 teachers would be trained in District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs).

Introducing English as medium of instruction is part of the sweeping reforms the state government is planning to introduce in the education sector.

During a review meeting on education, Reddy said vacant posts of teachers will be filled in January every year and the teacher-student ratio would be maintained at all times. Environment, climate change and road safety would also be included in the curriculum.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to prepare an action plan to ensure that every ‘mandal’ has one junior college and wherever possible high schools should be upgraded to junior colleges. In the same manner, every Assembly constituency should have one degree college, he said.

The state government has also decided to refurbish 44,512 schools under ‘Then and now’ programme and the first phase will cover 15, 410 schools. Every phase will cover Panchayatraj, Municipal, Tribal, Social, BC Welfare and other schools. The first phase should be completed by March 14, 2020 and there will also be a social audit, he said.

Reddy asked officials to involve parents in the education of children and quality of mid-day meal.

Brushing aside the talk that permissions are not being given to private colleges, Reddy said, if the institutions have the stipulated infrastructure there will not be any problem.

The film is coming to theaters in December. It is bankrolled by GA2 Pictures and UV Creations who made blockbuster Bhale Bhale Magadivoy in their previous collaboration with the same director.

The Hindu-Muslim conflicts earlier have always kept their relation feeble. They lived more like strangers, not enemies, often less friends. But living together was seldom witnessed. The latest picture of Hindus celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi and Muslims mourning on the Muharram together goes viral. The image was snapped in Telangana and it depicts communal harmony in a beautiful way.

The two communities offer prayers on the same street, side by side, in an amicable manner. The picture shows both religion men handshaking while exchanging smiles. This picture, not only looks ideal for society’s peace but also teaches how a festival should be celebrated together, irrespective of religion, creed and caste.

Earlier too, though they were many brutal conflicts between these two religion men, many instances showed peaceful confrontations. The communities now coming together is indeed a proud moment. Prabhas is eminently known for undergoing drastic body transformations with an incredible amount of skills and dedication. For Bahubal series, the actor has to look huge and build a bulky body by following an excruciating muscle gain regime. However, his latest release Saaho, showed the actor in a normal body-toned look. Now, Prabhas is all set to get a slim look for his 20th film.

The film will be directed by Radha Krishna and the actor was asked to shed some kilos to play the role of a romantic hero. Soon after, Prabhas has commenced his disciplined fitness regime. It is reported that the actor is under a supervised diet chart and is allowed to eat only proteins and good carbs. His workout sessions are said to be intensely high with heavyweight training.

As we know that the director Radha Krishna tweeted about the two shooting schedules of the film being wrapped up in April itself. He called the film – “a tale of two timeless lovers set in the twilights of 1970’s Europe”. The gorgeous Pooja Hegde is paired opposite Prabhas in the romantic drama set in London.

In one of the recent promotions of Saaho, Prabhas said that he is getting bored of acting in big-budget films which take nearly two years to complete. He said he is willing to get back to doing feel-good romantic films. The fans are excitedly looking forward to Prabhas’ new lean look for his 20th film and the actor too is said to be putting efforts in order to portray his character more authentically and accurately.

Chhichhore: Naveen nailed it

Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya was the sleeper hit of 2019 in Tollywood. Made with a decent budget, the film turned out to be blockbuster. The film garnered both critical acclaims as well as commercial success. And the face which turned several heads with this film is Naveen Polishetty. He got good recognition among youth and college-goers. Now, Naveen’s Bollywood debut Chhichhore is making waves as the film garnered positive reviews from several corners.

What is Chhichhore about & How It Is?

Chhichhore starts from present and takes us to the past of a Gang who proudly call them LOSERS. In present, Anirudh (Sushant) is married to Maya (Shraddha Kapoor) and they are divorced. Their teenage son Raghav, who is under pressure from competitive exams, attempts suicide and is hospitalized. He is in semi-conscious stage. Doctors declare that Raghav is not just physically weak but also mentally weak.

With son battling for life in the hospital, his heart-broken father Anirudh (Sushant) believes the only way to bring his son out of trauma by taking him through his own memory lane – back to his hostel days from engineering college where he fell in love with Maya (Shraddha Kapoor) and his gang of Losers – Sexa (Varun Sharma), Acid (Naveen Polishetty), Derek (Tahir Raj Bhasin), Bevda (Saharsh Kumar Shukla) and Mummy (Tushar Pandey).

The entertainment and emotions are in right dose. Chhichhore, the buddy-story, delivers a good message. The entire film relies on the message of “What if we fail? What do we do then?” Though it has the shades of Raju Hirani’s 3 Idiots with the hostel atmosphere and the treatment, Chhichhore is engaging. The surprise in climax is worth waiting for.

Who Did Well?

Sushant Singh Rajput (Anirudh), Shraddha Kapoor (Maya) did their best. Sushant excelled in emotional scenes. After Saaho, Shraddha Kapoor did a fine job as Maya where she acted with equal vibrancy. Varun Sharma (Sexa), who is addicted to porn, is hilarious. Prateik Babbar, Tushar Pandey Tahir Raj Bhasin enhanced the show. And newcomer and our Telugu actor Naveen’s stint got rave reviews and he got noticed in Hindi with this role.

Naveen is seen as Acid in the film. Yes, you read it right. His character name is Acid and he can’t stop abusing. He nailed it. And he is getting good recognition and applause in Bollywood, thanks to his ‘Acid’ show. With this, Naveen may bag a few more offers in Bollywood. Overall, it is a splashy and perfect debut to Naveen. And thanks to director Nitesh Tiwari (of Dangal fame) for picking Naveen and launching him in Bollywood with Chhichhore.

Ashok Leyland puts AP unit on hold!

The uncertain economy has badly hit the automobile industry in particular. For the first time in twenty years, the sales of four and more multiple wheelers have drastically come down and so the automobile companies are reducing their production too.

India’s second-largest bus, truck and LCV maker, Ashok Leyland which has set up its bus assembly unit at the industrial park at Malavalli, about 43 km from Vijayawada, has put its plans on hold. This decision of Ashok Leyland was taken after the company posted 70 per cent drop in the sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicle in August.

A spokesperson of the company said that the company has full capacity and will restore the production once the demand picks up. Ashok Leyland has reported total sales of just 4,585 units in August which is very less compared to the 12,420 units of the corresponding month last year.

The bus assembly unit at Malavalli is spread across 75 acres and the foundation stone was laid on March 31st, 2018 when Chandrababu was the CM. Ashok Leyland had plans to acquire another 75 acres and also train the local people eventually to employee them. This unit could provide job opportunities for nearly 5000 directly and indirectly it could be.

Sadly the slowing economy is also hurting Andhra Pradesh opportunities of becoming an industrial hub.

Finally, Dust Settled In TRS?

After seven months of anticipation, Telangana CM KCR has formed his full-fledged cabinet but this brought new troubles for the ruling part as MLAs who anticipated for cabinet berth were snubbed. Post the cabinet expansion, noticeable leaders came before the media and expressed their unhappiness.

TRS was quick enough to learn about this and spoke to leaders whoever felt they were ignored. Getting a call from the TRS leadership seems to have cooled down the situation a bit and MLAs T Rajaiah, Jupalli Krishna Rao, Bajireddy Govardhan and Gandra Venkataramana Reddy issued a statement that ‘All Is Well.’

Among the above leaders, it was first T Rajaiah who said there is no representation of Madiga community in TS cabinet. Then reports came that Jupalli Krishna Rao and Bajireddy Goverdhan are looking at BJP while Gandra is not happy in spite of defecting from Congress to TRS.

All the above leaders said that there is no truth in the media reports that they are upset for not getting cabinet berth. Haters are deliberately spreading false comments that none of the leaders made and they are ready abide of CM KCR’s decision and further strengthen the party in Telangana, said the MLAs.

Yet the rumours are not ending. Union Home minister Amit Shah is set to visit Hyderabad on September 17th which is the Liberation Day. A couple of TRS MLAs are in touch with Telangana BJP and might join the saffron party in the presence of Shah. Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao is the name that is making rounds in political and media circles and we have to see who all will stick to TRS and defect to BJP.

The Story Behind ‘Gang Leader’ Title

Hero Nani’s latest movie “Gang Leader”, not exactly, “Nani’s Gang Leader” is going to hit cinemas in just two days to go. Despite the fact that the film is coming to theatres, we hear that the leading man is still apprehensive about using that particular title.

Speaking about the title, other day at the pre-release event of the film, Nani stated that he’s a bit sceptical when director Vikram K Kumar suggested the using of ‘Gang Leader’ for the movie as audiences may not like due to the wow factor around that title. “When I’m doing Jersey, Vikram suggested this title, but I’m not okay with it initially. But later he convinced me that it is suitable to the subject, and to make it apter we’ve come up with Nani’s Gang Leader”. he says.

That explains about how Nani is a bit concerned about the backlash that he might receive from mega fans over the using of this title of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s super hit film. Anyway, wit lots of references made to Chiru and his film, surely mega fans might find Nani’s work quite happy for sure.

Ram Charan Promotes Dabanng 3, Fans Ask About Sye Raa

It looks like Mega Fans are really worried about how Ram Charan is actually planning the promotions of upcoming magnum opus “Sye Raa”. Amidst this chaos, the mega power star surprised them more by promoting an upcoming Bollywood movie than his own production venture.

A while ago, Ram Charan shared the teaser of Salman Khan’s upcoming film “Dabanng 3” which is also releasing in Telugu with the same title. Though the dialogue ‘Aatakaina Vetakaina Ready’ in this teaser doesn’t sound like Charan’s voice, rumour has that he is going to dub for the film for Salman’s Telugu voice, as he did for Prem Rathan Dhan Payo earlier.

That’s good, but when Charan could promote about December 20th releasing Dabangg 3, why is there no word about Sye Raa now? Because neither songs nor new teasers nor any special posters of Sye Raa are coming up actually though there is just 20 days for the release, say fans.

Chandrababu House Arrest: Police Locked The Gates With Ropes

TDP chief Chandrababu has been house-arrested by the police and not letting him come out of the Undavalli residence in Amaravati. Chandrababu has called for a protest march in Palanadu today, hence the police took preventive measures.

Pictures from Chandrababu’s residence show large number of TDP supporters and equal number of cops. Also, the police have tied the gates at the entrance with ropes which is quite shocking and even the helpers of the residence were not permitted inside and Chandrababu seriously objected this. Nara Lokesh who is also present there, came out of the residence and reacted strongly to the police’s action.

As the police are stubborn, Chandrababu has sat on a day-long fast in his residence and also directed the party cadre to stage protest all over the state. Upon on Chandrababu’s call, the police are taking preventive custody of many TDP leaders and among them are former ministers.
