Exclusive: NTR’s Fight With Real Tiger In ‘RRR’
Director Rajamouli is making sure that he will be making #RRR bigger than that of “Baahubali” when it comes to delivering the right entertainment for cinema lovers, thrill-seekers and fans alike. Here is a snippet of what is to come from the movie that has two happening stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the leads.
With Tarak’s role built on the lines of Komaram Bheem, who happens to be the son of the soil from a tribal region in Telangana, naturally, it tends to spend more time in the forest. Currently, the makers of #RRR are said to be canning a fight between a real tiger and NTR in Bulgaria schedule. Actually NTR will be fighting only with a dummy tiger which is nothing but men wearing masks of tiger and behaving like one.
While the tiger will be digitally created in Computer Graphics, Rajamouli is said to be working with highly talented visual effects professionals to make sure that realistic look will be attained at all costs. Back in Baahubali, we have Rana Daggubati fighting with a bull but the VFX seemed little artificial in certain aspects. Right now, fans want nothing but the man-animal fighting sequence we saw in films like 10000 BC and The 300 as well.
In case if this happens to be the introduction sequence of NTR in the film #RRR, surely it’s going to be a sensation of sorts on the screens.
Slowdown hits Telangana, Budget slashed by 20%
Hyderabad: Economic slowdown and the resultant slump in revenue has hit Telangana as the state on Monday slashed its Budget for 2019-20 by nearly 20 per cent.
Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao presented a Rs 1,46,492 crore Budget, down from Rs 1,82,017 crore in the Vote-on-Account presented in February.
In his Budget speech in state Legislative Assembly, Rao said that the slowdown has impacted all sectors.
The Budget comprises revenue expenditure of Rs 1,11,055 crore and capital expenditure of Rs 17,274 crore.
The state has projected fiscal deficit at Rs 24,081 crore and estimated revenue surplus at Rs 2,044 crore.
KCR, as the Chief Minister is popularly known, said the state had to revise the Budget estimates, taking in view the impact of slowdown over last few months.
“I regret that I am presenting the State Budget for 2019-20 in the House when both the Centre and State are going through a severe financial crisis. We have to tread carefully and cautiously during such a testing time,” he said
“There is a steep fall in the gross domestic product (GDP). All the major sectors are experiencing downward trend. Revenues have fallen. The country’s economic situation has a bearing on the state too. The government has decided to formulate the budget based on the change in the scenario and the ground realities,” the Chief Minister said.
KCR told the House that the severe economic slowdown is leading to serious repercussions in the country as is being witnessed daily.
“The economic slowdown has adversely impacted all the sectors. There is a negative growth in many key sectors, which mirror the prevailing economic situation. The official data put out by the institutions connected with these sectors present a gloomy picture,” he added.
KCR, however, assured the House that the government is committed to continue the welfare programmes for the poor people and farmers despite the existing financial crisis.
Centre still unhappy with Jagan over PPAs!
The YSR Congress party leaders have claimed that party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has convinced the NDA government bosses in Delhi on the need to review power purchase agreements signed by his predecessor N Chandrababu Naidu during his regime between 2014 and 2019.
However, the Centre seems to be still unhappy with Jagan for going ahead with his decision to review the PPAs despite the objections raised by it and the investors.
Speaking to media in Hyderabad on Monday, Union energy minister R K Singh made some strong comments against Jagan for deciding to review the PPAs ignoring central objections.
“It is very unfortunate. The Andhra chief minister has not realized that if a contract is reviewed years after it was signed, it will result in investors losing trust on the government,” he said.
He said the Centre had made it clear to Jagan that if there was really any illegality found in the PPA, the government could take action. But he cannot review it or scrap it completely, the minister said.
Stating that Jagan was making a false propaganda about the power projects, Singh said the Centre had not found any irregularities in the signing of the PPAs by the previous government.
“The new government could not produce any evidences to prove corruption in signing the PPAs. If Jagan takes unilateral decisions, it will result in flight of investments in power projects. He is not listening to the Centre’s advices in this regard,” he criticized.
Cabinet expansion triggers unrest in TRS!
The cabinet expansion undertaken by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday has naturally triggered unrest in some party leaders.
The interesting point here is that in the past, if there is any such unrest in the TRS, no leader used to dare to come out openly, as they used to fear KCR. Now, the party leaders are not hesitating to raise their voice against the party leadership.
Take the case of former home minister and senior leader Nayini Narasimha Reddy. He was not only denied the MLA ticket in 2018 assembly elections, he was also not given a berth in the cabinet.
Nayini told media on Monday that KCR had betrayed him.
“He did not abide by his promise that I will be made a minister. He did not give me party ticket to contest the assembly elections and made me MLC, stating that I would be taken into the cabinet. KCR had also promised to make my son-in-law as an MLC. But he did not fulfil any of his promises,” he lamented.
On the reports that he would be made chairman of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) chairman, Nayini said he was not interested in such a post.
“There is no life in that post,” he said.
The former home minister claimed that he was also one of the many owners of the TRS.
“KCR is our family head. All those who joined the party midway are just tenants. I don’t know how long these tenants will stay,” he said.
Another senior TRS leader and former deputy chief minister T Rajaiah also openly expressed his disgruntlement at the cabinet expansion.
“There are 11-12 per cent of Madigas in Telangana. But not a single Madiga could find a place in the Telangana cabinet. One has to raise the voice in support of Madigas. If Opposition parties talk about their issue, they would be ignored for politicizing the issue. So, I am forced to speak on their behalf,” he said.

Naidu Making A Fuss Out Of Nothing!
The hue and cry being raised by Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu over the alleged violent attacks by YSR Congress party leaders in the TDP cadres and former MLAs has been blown up in the media sympathetic to him.
Naidu went to the extent of opening a “rehabilitation centre” at the party headquarters in Guntur district for “the victims of attacks by YSRCP activists”, particularly in Palnadu region.
Naidu alleged that so far seven TDP activists were killed. Many other functionaries, including former MLA, were attacked, abused and charged with false cases, he said and asked why the police had not visited the villages and ensure protection to the victims.
He even gave a call for “Chalo Palnadu” rally by the party cadre and the victims of alleged YSRC attacks from Guntur. He said the party’s legal cell will fight cases for the victims.
He even challenged the YSRC government to register a case against him before touching his party men.
However, independent inquiries revealed that there had been no political violence in Palnadu region, except local faction feuds which had been very common in the area.
“During the TDP regime in the last five years, such violent incidents had been taking place in a big way, but those involved in the attacks used to get away with the support of then ruling party,” a local leader said.
However, after the YSRC came to power in May this year, those who indulged in violence in the past themselves had fled the villages, fearing that there would be retaliatory attacks.
“Strictly speaking, if one would go by the local media reports, one can notice that there had been no major incidents of violence by YSRC leaders or cadre. The TDP supporters themselves had left the villages on their own fearing violence. They are all now complaining to Naidu, who is trying to gain political mileage by making a big issue out of it,” the locals said.
PJR son, TRS MLA to join BJP?
Bharatiya Janata Party, which is making a desperate bid to replace the Congress party as the major opposition in Telangana, is trying hard to lure potential leaders from other parties.
According to the latest information, P Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, former Congress MLA and son of former CLP leader late P Janardhan Reddy, is getting ready to join the BJP.
He is understood to have held negotiations with the senior BJP leaders from Telangana and is waiting for a green signal from Delhi.
So far, however, there has been neither confirmation nor denial to the reports of Vishnu’s defection to the BJP. Apparently, the Congress leaders are trying to pacify him and retain him in the party.
Vishnu’s sister P Vijaya Reddy was also originally with the Congress and contested from Khairtabad in the past. Later, she defected to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and was elected as a corporator.
Meanwhile, there have been reports that Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA from Malkajgiri Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao might also be defecting to the BJP.
Mynampalli, who had been with the Telugu Desam Party for quite a long time, joined the TRS after 2014 elections.
He contested from Malkajgiri constituency in 2018 and won the elections. He was promised the cabinet berth, but the TRS leadership ignored his claims.
He expected the cabinet post at least in the latest reshuffle, but when he could not get it, a sulking Mynampalli went into a huddle with his followers and reportedly told them that he had an offer from the BJP.
Palnadu row: Jagan govt forms fact-finding team
With the Telugu Desam Party raising a lot of hue and cry over the alleged attacks by the YSR Congress party workers on the TDP cadre in Palnadu, the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government on Monday formed a fact-finding committee to probe the allegations.
Home minister Mekathoti Sucharita said the fact finding committee would comprise officials from revenue as well as police departments.
The police will visit the victim’s rehabilitation centers set up by the TDP to find out the truth and take action accordingly.
The minister said till now the TDP had not taken any permission from the government for the Chalo Atmakur in Palnadu area on September 11.
She said the police were staying in the villages in the nights to ensure the security and safety of the public.
“The department is going to appoint an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to address the law and order problems in the region and anybody could come and lodge a complaint with the officer. The office will be located at Piduguralla,” she said.
Ridiculing TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for organizing the rehabilitation camps drama by using the paid artistes, she said the police had registered altogether 79 complaints after the general elections, out of which 43 were lodged by TDP and the remaining by YSRCP.
“The police have been registering cases filed by both the parties and there was no truth in the claims of the TDP in this regard,” she said.
Meanwhile, the DGP Goutam Sawang informed that police imposed Section 144 across the Palnadu region in the Guntur district to ensure Law and Order and peace.
He said the police officials had already visited the villages built confidence among the public, wherever small incidents took place.
The DGP appealed all political parties not to disturb the peace in the region by making false statements on Law and Order.
Valmiki Trailer: Varun Tej… Chimpeshinav Po!
“Gatthar lepinav… Chimpeshinav Po” says an elderly lady at the end of Valmiki trailer and those words can be attributed to Varun Tej’s appearance and performance as Gaddalakonda Ganesh in Valmiki.
The film is an official remake of Tamil film Jigarthanda, but director Harish Shankar has given it his own style of treatment.
Apparently, there is a flashback to the villain (Varun) character in this film. Pooja Hegde plays his love interest.
Rest of the plot is inspired from Jigarthanda where an aspiring filmmaker (Arthava Murali) makes a movie with a real life don as the leading man.
The trailer has covered other elements like comedy and romance, but it is all about one man, Varun Tej, who looks terrific in the getup of a middle aged don.
His makeup, expressions and the dialect makes him look entirely different from what we had seen of him thus far.
Looks like, Harish Shankar and 14 Reels Plus has a potential winner on hands as anybody who has watched the trailer will look forward to see Varun Tej in action.
Valmiki is slated for release on Sep 20.
3-yr kid addicted to mobile, gets counselling
Children being addicted to mobile phones and tabs is not a novelty these days as electronic screens are so alluring and kids find it difficult to deviate their minds. In fact, this is one of the most raised concerns from modern parents today. YouTube is one among the biggest worries and next comes the mobile games.
News from Bareilly of a three-year-old obsessed with his mobile device has alerted parents all over the country. The boy’s mother brought him to Bareilly’s district hospital and took an appointment at its counselling centre. It is a bit surprising to see a 3-year-old boy getting counselled. His mother said that he needs to be counselled as he is bedwetting and the problem is increasing day by day. After counselling him, the doctor confirmed that the boy bed wets and avoids going to the bathroom as he doesn’t want to leave his mobile phone.
It is reported that the boy watched popular cartoons ‘Doremon’ and ‘Motu Patlu’ for nearly eight hours a day and he hates leaving the phone even for a few minutes. The counselling centre, Mann Kaksh, said that they have received 40 cases of mobile phone additions and most of the children belonged to the age group of 10-18 years.
In this case, the boy’s concerned doctor, Khush, said that the boy was given a mobile phone at a very tender age so that the parents can do their own household chores. Ironically, the boy did not even let his parents talk in the hospital until and unless he got the phone in his hands.
The psychiatrist also said that the study-related problems and headaches in young children are because of browsing the internet for so long and getting addicted to mobile games. “We are conducting counselling for both parents and children for a digital detox,†she said. Chief medical officer Dr.Vineet claimed that parents should make kids play in the outdoors or ask them to build blocks and play puzzles. Giving them Mobile and tabs are the worst things a parent could ever do.
He also said that the mobile phone is also causing depression and stress among children as they start comparing their toys, lifestyle with the people in the social media videos As a part of deaddiction, the counsellors said that parents should get back to black and white phones instead of smartphones and uninstall attractive apps. It is also important for parents to involve with children and play with them.
Dinesh Karthik tenders apology to BCCI
Team India cricketer Dinesh Karthik has been served with a show-cause notice by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The board came to learn that Karthik, who is the KKR team’s skipper in IPL, attended a Caribbean Premier League (CBL) match along with Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan. What angered BCCI is Karthik cheering for Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) team from the dressing room by wearing their team jersey, which is a violation of BCCI’s contract clause. For those not in the know, SRK co-owns Trinbago Knight Riders team too.
Taking that into consideration, BCCI-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) has issued a show-cause notice to Dinesh Karthik asking him to explain why his contract should not be cancelled. In his response to the notice from BCCI, Dinesh Karthik has tendered an unconditional apology for violating the board’s contract.
The 34-year old wicket-keeper cum batsman further said: “I wish to reiterate that I have neither participated in any TKR related activities nor played any role whatsoever for TKR. My coming to Trinidad was at the invitation of head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders, Brendon McCullum, who also happens to be the head coach of TKR. He felt that it’ll be useful for me as a captain of KKR, to come for some discussions with him in regard to KKR.”
