Acid Test Started For Saaho From Tuesday

For the first four days, neither the negative reviews nor the below-average word of mouth stopped the film’s tirade at the box office. That made “Saaho” amass almost 300+ crores gross from the worldwide box office. But the real test started as the Monday holiday of Vinaya Chavithi ended.

If we take the Bollywood collections of Saaho, the film rocked the first weekend with double-digit totals as it made 24, 25, 29 and 14+ crores respectively in the four days. But on Tuesday, the film has fallen to 9+ crores nett, and the figures might go further down until next Saturday. Same is the case with the film in local Telugu circuits too.

On Day 5 (Tuesday) Saaho made pretty lesser collections in Telugu states as well with only 3-4 crores ‘share’. It will be tough to make more than that until the next weekend arrives. As there are no big films around until Nani’s Gang Leader arrives on September 13th, there is plenty of time for Saaho to mint some more figures.

All said and done, the rate with at which the film is collecting now, is not going to be enough to make 277+ crores ‘share’ such that all the distributors will be on safe side.

#BiggBoss3: Thieves & Villagers Task Leads To Clashes

To make the scene interesting, once again Bigg Boss induced thieves into the house, who stoles things of housemates and divided them into teams, in order to get them back.

Under the leadership of Shilpa, the team of thieves has to safeguard the stolen things, posters, guns and the queen’s chair. Sreemukhi and the rest of villagers have to steal them back into the village before spraying posters. Though the task started with a fun, somehow contestants started pushing and squeezing each other until Bigg Boss warned them. Later, almost every contestant tried to flaunt their loudmouth, such that they will get more footage. Phew!!

Especially when Sreemukhi is having a tiff with Rahul, Punarnavi tried to interfere by shouting big and accusing that Sreemukhi kickstarts every discussion loud. Later Vithika tried to shout at Siva Jyothy after she accused that Vithika is trying to choke Ravi in the pool as they are trying to steal the treasure inside the pool.

Varun Sandesh and Vithika had a spat when the latter tried to steal a gun during game pause time. As usual, we have Vithika breaking into slight tears. Ali and Rahul are at loggerheads sometimes, but nothing worked out.

All in all, the task lacks excitement and the contestants are only showing their muscle power.

Don’t Change Andhra Bank’s Name: Chandrababu Tells FM

India’s GDP has dropped to 5% which is an all-time low over the past 6 years. Amid such a deep economic slowdown, the Modi-led government is desperately taking some drastic moves to improve the situation.

In this scenario, the Finance Ministry has decided to merge the iconic Andhra Bank with Corporation Bank and the Union Bank of India. Needless to say, this move has given raise to several concerns related to the self respect and sentiments of the Telugus.

Addressing these concerns, former AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu has written a letter to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. In his letter, Babu first appreciated the various measures being taken by the Finance Ministry to boost up the country’s economy.

Babu also urged Nirmala to not change Andhra Bank’s name. “Andhra Bank has been serving Telugu people for decades and earned our trust. Telugu people are not able to digest Andhra Bank’s merger. Please do not merge Andhra Bank. And if the merger is inevitable, at least do not change the bank’s name,” Babu urged Sitharaman.

While the former CM is the first to put his word across, it remains to be seen whether both the Telugu CMs KCR and Jagan, who have their own equation with Modi, will fight for Andhra Bank’s name.

It may be worth mentioning that during the separate Telangana movement, there were demands by the pro-Telangana activists to split Andhra Bank into two and rename the Telangana wing as Telangana Bank. However, Andhra Bank remained unchanged until now.

#BiggBoss3: Will Shilpa’s Cheap Tactics Work?

Wildcard entry Shilpa Chakravarthy tried to show off her motormouth skills as the Episode 45 of #BiggBoss3 kicked in. Using some proven tactics, she tried to provoke Baba Bhaskar but failed big time.

Earlier in the day, Baba Bhaskar jokingly stated that Shilpa might last for a week inside the house. Using that as a precursor, Shilpa raised her voice big time, asking Baba as to why he makes such comments. With everyone in the house staying silent and taking it easy despite her provocation, Shilpa’s plan got misfired.

A couple of hours later, she tried to corner Baba again over that silly remark saying that the choreographer is actually trying to kill her confidence. Later when everyone is resting in lawn area after lunch, she once again raised the issue, but Baba covered it up jokingly.

All these acts showcase the desperation of Shilpa to make an issue out of nothing and get more mileage, screentime and a huge fanbase. Well, these cheap tactics are actually failing to excite audiences these days.

First Major Victory for Pawan Kalyan And Janasena

While Telugu Desam government might have not done it fearing that the credit goes to Pawan Kalyan, but YS Jagan led incumbent AP government is busy doing a good job, albeit without giving any credit to others.

Other day, YS Jagan issued orders to construct a 200-bed hospital with 50 crores budget at Palasa, Srikakulam to help the neighbouring Uddanam Mandal people who are the most affected with Kidney related ailments. Though Jagan’s government claimed credits for this as their way of fulfilling the poll promise the AP CM has given to Uddanam patients during his Praja Porata Yatra, everyone knows the real truth behind this.

It is Pawan Kalyan who has first identified the need to take the issue of Uddanam seriously and highlight it at all stages. His team made to the villages in the region and demanded a hospital and research centre to be set up immediately. Also, Pawan spoke about the issue at Harvard University too. Despite repeated pleas, actually, Uddanam issue was ignored big time by erstwhile Chandrababu and YSR regime that ruled the state for a longer period. And to bring a solution to such plight, Pawan did a fabulous job, say ground-level jobs.

Today one may give him credits or not, the establishment of a 200-bed hospital in Palasa will stand as a first major moral victory for Pawan Kalyan and his Janasena. Yes, Pawan is succeeding in bringing a change in the society, though slowly.

Pawan Kalyan Fans Trying To Bounce Back, But..

The show of strength put up by Pawan Kalyan’s fans at various levels other day on the eve of the Janasenani’s birthday are unparalleled. Gone are the days where heroes birthday get celebrated in colleges, but yesterday many college-goers rushed to cut a cake on their premises to celebrate Pawan’s b’day. They rallied on roads and heaped showers of tweets and Facebook posts.

All this over-the-top celebration of Pawan Kalyan’s birthday by his fans is surely an indication that they are actually confirming their unconditional support for the Janasena leader even though he lost bigtime in the recently concluded election. Also, it is a chance for fans to showcase that they are indeed back to normalcy as the election defeat hit them hard.

These acts, however, didn’t go well with a section of society who feel that these fans are making is merely noise but won’t turn into vote banks. Though Pawan is against vote bank politics, he needs vote banks to win elections which is the big learning point from the bitter defeat he tasted. Maybe, Pawan’s fans should think about constructing a solid cadre for the party, rather just rallying, whistling, clapping and creating all the euphoria on his birthday.

On the other hand, the whole of TDP’s big bosses wishing Pawan Kalyan on his birthday along with BJP leaders could be seen as an indication that the next election is going to have certain equations changed.

Etela skips KCR’s meeting; gap widens!

For the last few days a lot of reports are coming on Telangana Health minister Etela Rajendra. Telangana CM KCR is said to be not happy with Etela and the former is planning to axe the latter from the council of ministers.

On Tuesday, KCR held a meeting in Panchayatraj Bhavan in Rajendranagar. For this meeting Etela was absent and this has become a talking point for political experts. Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Etela Rajendra were the only two ministers to be absent for this meeting.

Talasani is not in the city and he had informed KCR about this availability while the reasons behind Etela’s absence are yet to be known but he was available in the city. People close to Etela said that the meeting doesn’t come under his department and so the minister did not attend it.

Citing this reason to skip KCR’s meeting is not sounding appropriate. Etela is said to be distancing himself from KCR and thus the gap is widening which shows warning bells for Etela in the party.

Uncertainty over his ministry, Etela turned aggressive and said he is the real owner of TRS flag and he did not get minister post being a BC. As soon as Etela made this comments, he got a call from Working President KTR and after that Etela changed his words.

Overall, Etela’s episode is witnessing a new angle everyday. We have to see where it takes but certainly things are not well within TRS party.

Shah punch to Jagan: Stephen deputation rejected

In a blow to the YSR Congress party, the centre has rejected the deputation of IPS officer Stephen Ravindra from Telangana to Andhra. Right after YSRCP’s victory in elections, Jagan wanted Stephen Ravindra as intelligence wing chief. Based on Jagan’s requirement, Telangana CM KCR’s sent the IPS officer and said a no objection on behalf of state government to the union ministry of home affairs.

But the centre has declined the deputation and cited no reason. With no other option, Stephen Ravindra is back to Telangana cadre. Also he has resumed his work as IGP West Zone.

For close to three months, Stephen Ravindra was on leave and is said to be supervising the security of AP CM YS Jagan despite not getting any official orders. He could have extended his leave but Stephen Ravindra chose the otherwise and returned to Telangana state.

This is a huge setback for AP CM YS Jagan. In fact when Jagan met Union Home minister Amit Shah recently, he brought up deputation of IAS and IPS officers issue to the latter’s notice. Nothing seems to have moved Amit Shah and the home ministry declined Jagan’s request.

For the time being, ACB Director General Kumar Vishwajeet is looking after the AP Intelligence wing.

The news of a biker from Gurugram being fined almost 23K based on the new Motor Vehicle Act approved by the Indian parliament is creating tremors now. Though the new act is not being implemented in Hyderabad, many parts of India are witnessing it from September 1st.

Guess what, netizens who are fiding this news are not surprised, but they are blaming Mahesh Babu and his film for the happening. There is a scene in the movie where Mahesh gets embarrassed by the disruptive traffic in Hyderabad city and later imposes heavy fines on violators after he comes Chief Minister.

Trending that video now, netizens are throwing satires that maybe Govt Of India got a clue from this scene and hence passed that act. Some are praising that Koratala Siva and Mahesh are visionaries who have given a very good idea to BJP government as to how they should keep traffic violators under check.

All said and done, the governments and lawmakers should also answer the poor infrastructure and how they are giving permissions to shopping complexes that don’t provide adequate parking space. If the government keeps pestering public without providing them amenities, then a revolution erupts.

Subbirami Reddy Criticses Heroes

Every year on the eve of his birthday, businessman and politician T Subbirami Reddy honours Telugu film talents with awards. The veteran set of actors and actresses belonging to 80s era usually make their presence felt at this event, but not the younger generation of heroes. Taking a dig at such things, TSR made an interesting comment other day.

“Every year I would like to honour talented people in the film industry. During good olden times, NTR and ANR used to attend every event that felicitated them and used to feel happy to get recognised and respected in that way. But the present-day heroes (actors) think that attending an awards event to collect trophies is below their prestige. They should change their thought process taking a cue from legends like NTR and ANR” he stated.

Well, this is not just about TSR awards, but actually, our top heroes and heroines dont’ even attend a function like SIIMA as well which is being held by a group of Telugu people. When would our star heroes and young ones realise the importance of this felicitation and recognition is only something they know.

Lokesh’s First Visit: Sr Leader Quits

TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh’s first visit to Narsipatnam came at a wrong time as few leaders have quit the party. Among them is Sanyasi Patrudu who is the brother of former minister Ayyanna Patrudu.

Both Ayyanna and Sanyasi are celebrating their birthday today and on this occasion, Ayyanna called for a bike rally in Narsipatnam and invited Lokesh as chief guest. However, the police denied permission for the bike rally citing safety. Fumed by this Ayyanna went on to make controversial remarks on the police. “In another three years, elections will come and police will have to work under us. So be careful and do your duties accordingly and don’t bow down to CM YS Jagan’s pressure,” said Ayyanna Patrudu.

Sanyasi Patrudu stayed away from this rally and in fact he offered his resignation to the party. Speaking to the media in Vizag, Sanyasi said though he is feeling sad to quit TDP, he has no option before him. 10 other local leaders also resigned along with Sanyasi. He said he would take a call on his political future soon and which political party he would join next.

Saaho: Big Tollywood Heroes Thanking Prabhas

Despite the fact that critics haven’t got impressed by the film, Prabhas’ Saaho is flexing muscles at the box office as North Indian audiences have liked the film big time. Producers Claimed the movie collects 350 Cr plus worldwide Gross in 5 days. With the Hindi version of the movie emerging as a 100 crore getter, surely it is giving a new ray of hope to Telugu star heroes.

Many big heroes from Tollywood like Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun who enjoy a considerable fanbase in the North, never dared to come up with a Hindi movie all these days. Even though Baahubali worked out, they might have thought that the epic content inside the movie clicked well. Saaho’s success will change their opinion however, as it is clearly indicating that South filmmakers will be able to cater to the ‘entertainment’ needs of North audiences. That’s why our star heroes are said to be thanking Prabhas.

From now onwards, Allu Arjun might be thinking about how to release his films in Hindi in parallel with Telugu release, while the likes of Mahesh Babu might plan for a Bollywood venture. Then the likes of Ram, Bellamkonda Srinivas and other young heroes who are enjoying the success of the dubbed Hindi versions of their Telugu films, might see this as a new ray of hope to expand their markets.

As Prabhas proved that a South hero could be another superstar in the north, surely every other star now tries to blur the divide and differences.
