Other day, the first look of Allu Arjun’s latest film Ala Vaikuntapuramlo is out and it impressed fans big time. But there are things that general movie lovers would find it a close sibling of many of Trivikram’s movies. As they fondly call him Guruji, people are explaining how certain things became redundant and repetitive in his latest movies.

Allu Arjun’s appearance in a stylized suit and that Bentley car in the background reminded films like Attarintiki Daredi, S/o Satyamurthy and Agnyaathavasi, where heroes are filthy rich and luxury follows them around like a hutch dog. And the guy lighting the cigarette in AVPL poster also made people remember how servants to heroes in Trivikram’s films became quite common.

Whether it is for Pawan Kalyan, Jr NTR, Allu Arjun or Nithin in films like Attarintiki Daredi, Aravinda Sametha, S/o Satyamurthy or A..Aa respectively, there are assistants for heroes no matter how rich or poor they are. Looks like he is in for a same kind of setup again in Allu Arjun’s latest flick too.

India Slowdown is ‘man-made crisis’: Manmohan Singh

The two time Indian Prime Minister and Former Finance Minister, Senior leader of Congress party, Manmohan Singh, has on Sunday took a swipe at Narendra Modi and his government’s policies for the economic slowdown in the nation.

Hitting out at India’s growth fall to 5% (for the March-June quarter), Mr. Singh blamed Modi government and said: ‘Last quarter’s GDP growth rate of 5% signals that we ae in midst of a prolonged slowdown. India has the potential to grow at a much faster rate but all-round mismanagement by Modi govt has resulted in this slowdown.’

In a video statement, former finance minister in PV Narasimha Rao’s govt also expressed his deep concern for India’s economy and added: “India cannot afford to continue in this path. So, I urge the govt to put aside vendetta politics and reach out to sane voices and thinking minds to steer India’s economy out of this man-made crisis.”

However, BJP supporters on social media have began to strike back at Manmohan Singh with growth rate numbers during his rule. They are pointing out at 4.3% GDP growth in March 2013 quarter when Singh was India’s PM. And they refer to it as worst phase as inflation went up to 14.72% & fiscal deficit at 4.9%. Whereas, now the GDP growth of 5% now, with inflation at just 3.18% and fiscal deficit at 3.3%. And all this, despite global trade contracting by 100bps!

Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao greeted the people in Telangana on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi 2019. He wished – “Lord Ganesha may lead the people of Telangana on the path of progress, happiness, peace and prosperity”.

Accompanied by his family members, CM KCR is seen offering prayers to Ganesh idol on the very occasion of the joyous festival. The pooja has been performed and he was offered with garland and prasad. He also spent some quality time in the name of Ganesh Chaturthi and in spite of his hectic time, KCR managed to follow the traditions. The idol that KCR is seen worshipping is made of clay, supporting eco-friendly celebrations.

The working president of Telangana, KTR, shared the pictures on his Twitter handle saying that the family has successfully done with pooja and his son, Himanshu, brought eco-friendly Ganesha to home. In the midst of balancing work and festival rituals, KCR also called Governor Narasimhan and spoke on several issues and enquire the new assignment for the Governor. He also reportedly expressed his worry over the construction for the new secretariat.

The runtime of Baahubali Prabhas latest movie Saaho is quite long that it stood at 2 hours 51 minutes long in theatres. While critics found this runtime as a boring one with second-half appearing bit dragged for them, fans and regular moviegoers are enjoying it.

Some filmmakers write their movies to a particular length and shoot accordingly. But some makers like Rajamouli shoot all the possible scenes and produce a 4+ hours movie though they will go with only 3 hours runtime. We hear that Saaho director cut is almost 4 hours 37 minutes as director Sujeeth locked that after pouring in all of his thoughts.

Even though they trimmed Saaho big time, the film has lots of loopholes and pale scenes. We wonder what has Sujeeth shot to produce that 4 hours 37 minutes output. Rather carving such lengthy movies, maybe they should have written impactful scenes and watertight screenplay to make it more interesting and also to save money.

Charan pens emotional post for ‘mentor’ Pawan Kalyan

As Jana Sena President and popular actor Pawan Kalyan turned 48 on Monday, his nephew and actor Ram Charan wished his “Babai”, whom he called his “mentor and guide”, on his birthday.

Ram Charan took to Instagram and shared a few heart-warming photographs of himself along with Pawan. In one image, the two actors are seen posing for the camera. In the other, he is seen giving a tight hug to his uncle.

“Wish you a very happy birthday Kalyan Babai. Thank you for always being there for me as a friend, guide and mentor. Love you a lot! Happy Birthday Pawan Kalyan. Pawan Kalyan,” he captioned the image.

Currently, the photographs have garnared over one lakh likes.

Pawan Kalyan was last seen in Trivikram Srinivas’s “Agnyaathavaasi”, while Ram Charan will next be seen in filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s “RRR”.

Rajamouli had said that “RRR” will be a fictional story set in 1920s in the pre-Independence era and it will be based on few years in the lives of two real heroes and well-known revolutionaries — Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.

While Jr. NTR will be seen as Komaram Bheem, Ram Charan will be playing Alluri Sitharama Raju.

Prabhas’ ‘Saaho’ beats Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’

Ace filmmaker Sujeeth’s ‘Saaho’ seems to be on a juggernaut run at the domestic box-office as the film streamed through several films to make its spot in the highest first weekend collections.

The actioner managed to beat Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ but failed to break ‘Baahubali’ first-weekend record.

Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer managed to allure the audience to the theatres in spite of failing to impress the critics.

The movie received a lot of mixed reviews and the lack of a gripping storyline was blamed to be the reason for its failure.

In spite of bad reviews, ‘Saaho’ has managed to battle the odds and make a mark at the box-office. With Rs 79 crores in its first weekend, Prabhas’ film has managed to overcome Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ which had collected Rs 61.29 crore in its first weekend.

But S. S. Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ still manages to top the list with a staggering figure of Rs 127.28 crore.

Meanwhile, ‘Saaho’ has even managed to surpass the first weekend collections of Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Kabir Singh which had collected Rs 70.67 crore.

Grabbing the second spot behind Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s ‘Bharat’ which had raked in Rs 90.47 crore, ‘Saaho’ has succeeded in proving its mantle.

Saaho, starring Shraddha Kapoor opposite Prabhas, also features Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Mahesh Manjrekar, Chunky Panday, Arun Vijay, Murali Sharma and Mandira Bedi in important roles.

The film is made on a budget of nearly Rs 350 crore, which makes it one of the costliest films to come out of India.

AP pays tributes to YSR on his 10th death anniversary

Amaravati: Rich tributes were paid to late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy by the party leaders and family members across Andhra Pradesh on his 10th death anniversary on Monday.

Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy paid floral tributes at the grave of his father at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district.

The Chief Minister’s mother Y. S. Vijayalakshmi, sister Y. S. Sharmila and other family members also participated in the prayers.

YSR was killed in a helicopter crash with four others in Kurnool district on this day in 2009.

This was the first death anniversary of YSR after the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP came to power in the recent elections.

Jagan Reddy tweeted on the occasion that his father, with his administration and schemes for people’s welfare, showed a way to the nation.

“Though his father had physically gone away, he will always live in the form of his schemes. His inspiration will continue to guide us to follow into his footsteps,” said the Chief Minister.

State Ministers, MPs, legislators and YSRCP leaders also paid tributes to YSR at various programmes. They garlanded his statues and recalled the services rendered by him during his term in office from 2004-2009.

The party leaders organised food camps for the poor, blood donation camps and distribution of fruits among patients at various hospitals to mark the occasion.

‘Victory’ Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya are seen in colorful traditional attire in this poster and this will be an eye feast for the Daggubati and Akkineni fans. Overall a perfect poster for the festival.

KS Ravindra is directing ‘Venky Mama’ which also stars Raashi Khanna and Paayal Rajput in the female leads.

The film is currently in shooting stages. Suresh Productions and People Media Factory banner are bankrolling ‘Venky Mama.’
