Watch AP Govt Considering to Change AP Capital from Amaravati – Botsa Satyanarayana
Wanted: Troubleshooters For YS Jagan
Barely three months into ruling, YCP has been struggling to face the Opposition. Issues like stopping of works of Polavaram and capital construction and cancellation of tenders and war with the Centre over the cancellation of PPAs, failing in Disaster Management in floods in Amaravati and losing investments to other states are a few among several issues that are bothering the ruling Jagan government. While Opposition not only succeeded in cornering Jagan, it also made sure that national media too found fault with YS Jagan administration.
Especially, media has been highly critical of Jagan administration. This is upsetting CM Jagan to the core. Despite reaching out to several heads and management of media, Jagan government hasn’t got concrete support from them. Jagan has been wanting the ministers and other party leaders to strongly counter opposition and his critics. But none of them have strongly come out to defend the government.
Critics continue to attack Jagan administration. Jagan’s PR machinery too failed to create the positive buzz on his government so far. This led Jagan to hire a PR to deal with national media. Jagan has recently appointed Devulapalli Amar to handle national media. Apart from this, Jagan wants troubleshooters from the party to do their best to counter Opposition and critics.
Considering the recent incidents where Opposition hit hard the ruling YCP, Jagan decided to encourage party leaders to be the troubleshooters of his government. This is a golden chance for the party leaders to use the opportunity and to be in the good books of Jagan.
If one uses the chance and gets to the notice of Jagan, certainly, Jagan could think of promoting them in his next cabinet expansion. Already, Jagan isn’t happy with a few ministers in his cabinet and likely to change them in his next reshuffle. So, this is a good chance for YCP leaders to shine.
Amma Naana Tamil Ammayi Sequel For Vijay Devarakonda
Director Puri Jagan is the one who writes many stories when he has free time and saves them for the future. And by incorporating some modern themes into those old ideas, he carves out films. This is a proven formula.
Already news is out there everywhere that Vijay Devarakonda is teaming up with Puri Jagan after wrapping his present commitments. Rumoured to be titled ‘Fighter’, the film is said to have the Arjun Reddy star playing the role of a boxer. As we chip into the details, here is an interesting snippet coming out.
Back then, Puri Jagan carved out the film Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi with Raviteja, which has a similar boxing backdrop. We hear that the story of Vijay’s film will be on similar lines, but this time the intensity around boxing will be just doubled. This is more like a sequel version of ANOTA, a source revealed.
With Ismart Shankar becoming a money spinner for Puri Jagan, the director is quite excited and might carve this Vijay starrer in the massiest way.
Saaho Theatrical Target Is 290 Crores ‘Share’?
Here comes the mega budgeted film India has ever seen in terms of pre-release business as Prabhas’ Saaho becomes the third biggest film in terms of sales. So far, Rajnikanth’s 2PointO and Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 are the Top two films in India that raked huge pre-release moolah. And Saaho joins the league now.
In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Saaho made a theatrical business of around 125 crores with Nizam fetching 40 crores, Ceeded 24 crores and balance from various districts like East and West (19 Cr), Vizag (15 Cr) and Guntur-Nellore (17 Cr) making up to a gargantuan total. And the likes of Karnataka (28 Cr), Tamilnadu (20 Cr) fetched huge prices, while Overseas rights of all languages sold for 42 crores to Phars Films, Dubai. That makes the films’ theatrical rights sold for 290 crores with all other regions included.
So, Saaho has to make nearly 300 crores ‘share’ from all the version and 290 crores at any cost, to make sure that all the distributors get their investment back. That is not a mammoth target if we have to keep the hype around the film’s content and the craze of Prabhas are to be looked upon.
Given that the digital streaming rights of South Indian versions made 40 crores, if we included the satellite rights and music included, surely the film made 500 crores business on the table much before the release. Earlier, we have 2PointO making 560 crores pre-release business, while Baahubali 2 stood at 510 crores.
Saaho’s on-screen chemistry, A Bang!
Prabhas has die-hard fans. And the fans have waited for Saaho for so long after Baahubali : The Conclusion. Naturally, expectations on Saaho are sky-rocketed. Besides high-octane action sequences, chase scenes, what is the one most important thing that fans are looking for is the on-screen chemistry between Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor. The duo’s romance is the thing to watch out for.
Here is the challenge for Shraddha. While Shraddha is quite familiar in Bollywood, she is new to Telugu and south audience. Also, south audience are more inclined to see chemistry of Prabhas and Anushka Shetty. This poses big challenge to Shraddha as he has to make fans forget Anushka and look for her. How Shraddha does it needs to be seen on big screen.
This is probably why, the makers of Saaho are now releasing the romantic shades of Saaho featuring Prabhas and Shraddha. They are preparing audience for the duo’s on-screen romance. This has to work well for the audience to connect to the film. Since the budgets are pretty high and the hundreds of crores are riding on the film, the makers of Saaho are doing everything possible best to create buzz for the film. One has to wait and see whether Shraddha would impress south audience and replace Anushka-Prabhas pair or not.
Puri Jagan Flaunting His Family Side Now
Despite the fact that many rumours have floated around him, director Puri Jagan never did anything to showcase to the world that he is a family man. Only his daughter Pavitra and son Aakash used to post about him all the time, but he never did any.
But other day, after his wife Lavanya Petla made an entry into Instagram, director Puri Jagan shared a picture with her on the social media page. Calling this as ‘family time’, the director also included his daughter in the picture. Currently, Puri, his wife and the two children are said to having a gala time in Bangkok. They will be returning very soon after wrapping their vacation.
After scoring a stupendous hit through Ismart Shankar, Puri Jagan became quite a happy man because the film has not only brought him into the limelight but it also gave him loads of money. In recent times he lost chunks of money through the flop films he made and this success helped him recover big.
On this occasion, this happy eve, it looks like Puri is flaunting his family side.
Akhil Gets Costliest Heroine Of His Career
Despite the fact that two schedules of the film are already shot, young hero Akhil Akkineni is not able to lock down a heroine for his latest film being directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. Finally, it looks like the young hero can heave a sigh of relief.
Reports are now coming that finally, Akhil succeeded in convincing Geetha Arts to get Pooja Hegde aboard. Though the names of Kiara Advani and Pooja Hegde are considered initially, Allu Arvind is said to have rejected the idea of roping in such costly heroines as they are making the film on a limited budget.
After considering various names, it looks like once again Pooja Hegde is approached. And her dates came not easily, as the makers are said to be splurging in what could be called as bringing the costliest heroine ever for Akhi.
Pooja is said to have charged 3.5 crores to come aboard for this film and might join the shooting of the movie very soon. On the other hand, Pooja will be seen in films like Valmiki and Ala Vaikuntapuramlo along with Prabhas-Radhakrishna movie.
Is referendum a solution for capital issue?
Ever since Andhra Pradesh minister for urban development and municipal administration Botsa Satyanarayana kicked up a controversy by hinting at relocation of the state capital, there have been a lot of speculative stories in the media on the fate of Amaravati.
A latest report in an English daily indicated that YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy might go in for conduct of referendum on retaining or relocating the capital city from Amaravati.
He would conduct a survey across the state as to whether the capital could be continued at Amaravati or shifted to some other place.
However, one wonders whether conduct of referendum on the capital at this stage will provide any solution.
The state has come too far ahead with the capital construction by spending thousands of crores of rupees. If the capital is shifted elsewhere, all the money would go down the drain.
ePaper: What will be the future of Amaravati?
Secondly, it is also doubtful whether the Centre would agree for the same or not, though the capital issue is a state subject. But, the Centre will definitely raise objections, as it had already granted more than Rs 1500 crore for Amaravati.
Thirdly, there is no point in taking the people’s opinion for capital, especially at this stage, as there would be varied opinions.
While north coastal Andhra people want Vizag, south coastal Andhra people want Donakonda. Rayalaseema people have already started demanding that the capital be shifted to Kurnool.
“So, there may not be a majority opinion on any place,” an analyst said.
So, in the best interest of the state, Jagan can continue the present administration in Amaravati, which has come up to some extent.
He can shift other offices like high court to Rayalaseema, educational institutions to Tirupati, industries to Donakonda and other commercial hubs to Visakhapatnam and Guntur.
Is Kiara Getting Too Close For Comfort With Charan?
While in Mumbai, the pretty Kiara Advani is being linked with Siddharth Malhotra, in Tollywood there are loud whispers about a growing closeness between the actress and Ramcharan Teja.
The two hit it off famously while shooting for Vinaya Vidheya Rama in 2018. Though they haven’t worked together again they’ve kept in touch and make it a point to meet whenever they visit each other’s city .
When Ramcharan was in Mumbai earlier this month he made sure to meet up with Kiara. The two were spotted at a well-known restaurant, without any other company except each other.
While we are not suggesting that there is anything more to this togetherness then a healthy friendship we would like to point out that sources in Tollywood insist there’s much more to the Kiara-Ramcharan friendship than meets the eye.
“We hear she’s dating Siddharth Malhotra in Mumbai. But that’s just whitewashing. Because Kiara’s chemistry with Ramcharan Teja is there for everyone to see. When they’re together they are oblivious to all except one another,” a well-placed source in Tollywood informs.
We wonder what Mrs Ramcharan Teja, the formidable entrepreneur Upasana Kamineni has to say about her husband’s growing fondness for his co-star.
South Films Much In Demand In Bollywood
When Karan Johar recently decided to buy the remake rights of the highly-rated Vijay Deverakonda starrer Dear Comrade, reportedly at a staggering price, he also wanted Vijay as part of the Hindi remake. Vijay declined.
Vijay or Mahesh Babu, Telugu stars are not particularly keen on going into Hindi. The demand is for Telugu, and to a lesser extent, Tamil content to be converted into Hindi.
In recent times Telugu remakes of Kick and Arjun Reddy have done mind-bending business at the boxoffice. Bollywood directors are now queing up for the rights of many certified hits in Telugu, some of them 10-15 years old.
The trend of remakes is nothing new. In the 1960s and 70s several distinguished Tamil producers remade their own Tamil films successfully into Hindi.
L V Prasad, rightly considered the deceased doyen of Tamil cinema, was a leader in this trend. Many of his biggest Hindi hits like Sasural, Milan, Khilona and Ek Duuje Ke Liye were remakes of Tamil films Prasad had himself produced.
In the earlier decades Bollywood’s focus for remake rights was Tamil Nadu. Way back in 1951, Bahar, the Hindi film introducing Vyjanthimala was a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Vazhkai.
This remake set the pattern for subsequent remakes from Tamil to Hindi such as Miss Mary(1957) a remake of the Tamil Misamma, and Bhabhi(1957) a remake of Kula Deivam, Main Chup Rahungi(1961) a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kalathur Kannamma, Main Bhi Ladki Hoon(1964) remade from the Tamil Naanum Oru Pen and Laadla(1964) remake of Annnai.
By the 1970s the trend of remaking of Tamil films in Hindi lost steam. During the reign of Rajesh Khanna in Bollywood remakes faded away. But were soon revived by Jeetendra who needed to revive his career after Khanna’s 5-year reign.
Telugu remakes proved a blessing for Jeetendra. He turned producer and bought remake rights of every Telugu hit he could lay his hands on.
The gambit worked. It revived his career. Jeetendra recalls how he relentlessly shot these Hindi remakes of Telugu films in Hyderabad. He was so much out of his home in Mumbai that his wife and children had to fly into Hyderabad to meet him.
If the credit for bringing Telugu cinema into Bollywood in such a major way in the 1970s goes to Jeetendra, in the 1980s and 90s it was producer Kapoor who leaned heavily on Telugu cinema for his Bollywood palate. Between 1980 and 2015 Boney bought the remake rights of as many as 15 Telugu hits.
Among his successful remakes were WohSaat Din (the film that launched Boney’s brother Anil Kapoor as a leading man in Hindi cinema), Judaai (Boney’s wife the legendary Sridevi’s last film before marriage) and Tevar (a remake of Mahesh Babu’s Telugu blockbuster Okkadu featuring Boney’s son Arjun Kapoor). Now, Boney has moved in the other direction: he has remade the influential Hindi hit Pink into Tamil.
Not all of Boney’s Telugu remakes worked. He admitted to me that the remake must make cultural changes to be palatable in the Hindi belt. Blind remakes don’t work.
