Prabhas To Do A Devotional Movie Too!
Akkineni Nagarjuna and Megastar Chiranjeevi tried different genres before sticking to their favorite ones. Still they are ready to try films in multiple genres.Chiranjeevi did Swayamkrushi, Apadhabandhavudu, Rudraveena, Manjunatha, now Sye Raa which are not typical mass masala films. Nagarjuna has been exemplary as he plays in romantic dramas, action films, devotional films, family entertainers and different films every time.
Balakrishna did try in early 90’s with Bhairavadweepam, Aditya 369 and Sri KrishnaArjuna Vijayam and Pandurangadu, Gautamiputra Satakarni but only Bhairavadweepam, Aditya 369 became memorable, so he is sticking to mass masalas more often.
Gautamiputra Satakarni found mixed reception from critics and audiences as it restricted itself to being a war drama.
Prabhas in the latest generation gets the distinction of being part of successful in multiple genre films like Darling – romantic comedy, Chatrapathi – gangster action , Mirchi – Telugu commercial formula , Mr. Perfect – Family entertainment, Baahubali series – Folklore.
He is doing Saaho – a heist action film and he wants to continue doing different genre films. His next is Fantasy Romance film and after that he wants to do a devotional film like Bhakta Kanappa, it seems. Krishnam Raju proved himself as an actor with the film in the direction of Bapu and he has plans to direct it with Prabhas again.
Will Prabhas do the same film or will he opt for a different devotional subject? We don’t know yet. But he has plans to do variety of films than just being part of action dramas.

Jr NTR Is Not Bigger Than Party: Balayys’s Alludu
Balayya’s second son-in-law and husband of Nandamuri Tejeswini Sri Bharat’s comments on Jr NTR have become hot topic in TDP circles.
Bharat, who contested from Vizag Parliament against Janasena’s Lakshminarayana and YCP’s MVV Satyanarayana, lost to MVV Satyanarayana. Bharat is overcoming his defeat and coming out into public.
When one of media persons asked Bharat about Jr NTR’s re-entry into TDP and the prospects of TDP, Bharat responded saying that NTR should approach party but not otherwise. He said no individual is above the party and said party is the supreme power.
Bharat opined that he won’t agree that Jr NTR alone can rescue the party and he said it is nothing but devaluing the young and dynamic leadership TDP has.
While there is nothing wrong in Bharat’s comments at large, but the timing and context of the comments have kicked up a big debate. TDP’s fans and leaders have divided on Bharat’s comments. A section of TDP which is strongly supporting Jr NTR has found the comments ‘offensive’.
NTR’s fans too hurt with these remarks and took to social media to counter Bharat. The huge social media war between TDP’s hard-core fans and Jr NTR’s die-hard fans is causing embarrassment to the party and is doing more damage than it was expected.
Bharat being a novice in politics, he should refrain from making such comments. In fact, leaders like Yanamala, Achchannaidu, Kala Venkat Rao, Rammohan Naidu, Lokesh and many others won’t respond to such questions or deal with smartly, what is so hurry for a young leader like Bharat to respond on such tricky topic.
Jr NTR topic in TDP is nothing but a hornet’s nest. The better one stays away from it the best. And such issues would get ideal solution over the time. Time is the best solution for such issues. Bharat might have tasted the heat and might have learnt the lesson now.
Hope Saaho Subtitles Won’t Create A Panic
To make the films reach many non-Telugu speaking audiences, these days Telugu movie makers are hardcoding subtitles of a movie in English and releasing it around the world. That helps even the children of NRIs understand Telugu movies better.
But recently, when the film Manmadhudu 2 got released, subtitles are screened in the theatres of Hyderabad as well. When core Telugu people are watching Telugu movie in a theatre, why would they need English subtitles? Moreover, these onscreen subtitles will be disturbing the viewing experience as most people are not going to read them.
Now that the film Saaho got certified other day with UA at 171 minutes runtime, it is revealed that the Telugu version of the film got censored with English subtitles. But the screens in Telugu states should make sure that they will be getting hard disks that don’t contain the subtitles such that the viewing experience will be great.
Whether there will be the subtitle panic or not, August 30th will throw us more light.
Four Interesting Rumours On Samantha!
The name Samantha is quite synonymous with day to day affairs of Tollywood that everyone will be talking about her every day. Such is her stardom we must say. After scoring back to back hits like Majili and Oh Baby, she is however on a hiatus. Currently, some interesting rumours are doing rounds around and here are they.
Firstly they said that Samantha is taking a break from films as he is planning for kids, but that was ruled out as she is taking part in shootings. Then after the videos of her parkour and other acrobatics came out, rumours mushroomed that she is actually prepping for an action-packed web series to be produced by Amazon Prime.
Then came a rumour that actually Samantha is not in the mood to do heroine-centric films and want to do a couple of commercial films before calling it a ‘break’ in 2020. And the fourth rumour that is being heard is that Nagarjuna has finalised a film titled ‘Bangarraju’ where he will be doing another multi-starrer with son Chaitanya. They say Samantha has agreed to star in this movie.
We have to see how many of these rumours actually turn true.
Kodela booked for diverting House furniture
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Police have booked former Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao and his son for allegedly diverting furniture belonging to the Assembly to unauthorised places.
A case against Siva Prasad Rao and his son Sivarama Krishna was filed at Thullur police station in Guntur district late on Saturday on a complaint filed by M. Eswara Rao, an officer of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
The case was registered under sections 409 (cheating by personation) and 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Siva Prasada Rao is accused of illegally diverting the furniture belonging to government from Assembly premises to unauthorized places and to a private showroom belonging to Sivaram Krishna.
They were booked two days after Assembly officials searched a motorbike showroom in Guntur. The officials reportedly identified chairs, tables and other furniture belonging to the Assembly.
Rao had earlier admitted that while shifting Assembly furniture and equipment to Amaravati from Hyderabad in 2016, some of it was taken to his office-cum-residence in Sattenapalli.
He said this was done for the safety and maintenance as the furniture could have got spoilt in the temporary Assembly building.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader, who was defeated in the last Assembly elections, also claimed that he wrote to Assembly Secretary asking him to take the furniture. He also offered to pay for the furniture.
Puri busy with ‘Fighter’ script work!
Dashing director Puri Jagannadh will be working with happening hero Vijay Deverakonda for his next.
Recently the film’s title got registered at the film chamber and it is ‘Fighter.’ Going by the title we may get an impression that it would be action entertainer. But that’s not all.
Director Puri has started the script work and is making sure to add romantic and family elements to come up with a wholesome entertainer.
He will take his own sweet time to complete the script and in this meantime Vijay Deverakonda will wrap up his commitments.
‘Fighter’ will be produced by Puri and Charmme Kaur under Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies and Puri Connects banners.
My failures made me who I am today: Superstar
Actor Hrithik Roshan made a blockbuster Bollywood debut 19 years ago with “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai”, and since then he has been featured in several films that ran the gamut of genres from love story to patriotism.
His movies like “Fiza”, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”, “Koi Mil Gaya”, “Dhoom 2” and “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” turned out to be hits though he failed to impress with a string of projects such as “Yaadien”, “Na Tum Jaano Na Hum”, “Lakshaya”, “Kites” and “Mohenjo Daro”.
Time and again, however, Hrithik has tried to prove his versatility as an artiste and, according to him, it was “failure” which helped him scale greater heights.
“Today, when I look back, it feels like I have come a long way. There have been successes and there have been failures but most important are the lessons I learnt from my failures. My failures have made me who I am today and now my choices come from a place of having learnt from those failures,” Hrithik told IANS.
Talking about his film choices, the 45-year-old star, who is currently being lauded for his performance in his latest release “Super 30”, says he looks for “entertaining scripts” while signing the projects irrespective of genre.
“Honestly, I did not come on board for ‘Super 30’ because of the social message. I did it because it’s a great script. My father always says that if you want to give a message to the society, you make a documentary, don’t make films. If you make a film, it has to be entertaining. I am not going to do a film only because it is a biopic on a great man. I am going to do a film if it’s an entertaining script, that’s it! Those are the kind of stories I am looking forward to,” he said.
With “Super 30”, Hrithik continues maintaining his charm at the box-office. The film raked in over Rs 146 cr in India.
Bollywood’s Greek God, however, claims that does not give much heed to box-office numbers.
“Box office numbers do hold some level of importance as it is a direct indication of people watching your film, but I don’t choose my scripts keeping in mind whether or not it will cross Rs 100 crore or not. It is important that the film connects with the masses and entertains them. Crossing the 100 crore-mark is only the cherry on top of the cake.”
For Hrithik, it is experimentation that matters the most.
“I have always tried experimenting with characters I play. Whether it is Rohit in ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, Rohan in ‘Kaabil’, Ethan in ‘Guzaarish’ or Anand Kumar in ‘Super 30’. I have been drawn to different characters. I feel more encouraged and empowered as an actor now. I am thoroughly enjoying the process. I have to work hard to achieve what I want to, even today. There is a constant effort from my side to become better at what I do and to deliver what is expected out of me,” he added.
After portraying a de-glam look in the biopic of Patna based maths teacher Anand Kumar in “Super 30”, Hrithik will be seen in an high-octane action avatar in “War”, which is scheduled to release in October.
Four capital cities for AP, but not Amaravathi: BJP MP
BJP Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh, who recently defected from TDP to BJP, has revealed a ‘top secret’ on the capital city of Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media on Sunday, he said BJP high command (read PM Modi and Amit Shah) and AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy have taken a ‘collective decision’ to shift AP capital city from Amaravathi and form four new capital cities for AP in its place.
Venkatesh disclosed that AP’s four new capital cities will come up at Vijayanagaram, Kakinada, Guntur and Kadapa.
Venkatesh claimed that the BJP high command itself had revealed this ‘ top secret’ to him on AP’s capital city and it is bound to happen ‘very very soon’.
Venkatesh said the decision to form four new capital cities was taken as the BJP and YSRCP governments at the Centre and State does not want to adopt “Hyderabad model” of centralised capital but want to adopt “decentralised model” of having four capitals in four different regions of AP.
He said this is to ensure that AP achieves balanced and inclusive growht of all regions, instead of a single region.
Venkatesh said Jagan will soon announce scrapping of Amaravathi capital city and announce four new capital cities for AP.
Evelyn Sharma in awe of ‘Bahubali’ superstar Prabhas
Actress Evelyn Sharma said she is a huge fan of “Bahabali” and that she got too excited when she was offered a role in Prabhas-starrer “Saaho”.
“Being a huge fan of ‘Bahubali’, you can imagine how excited I was to work with Prabhas. When I got the call from Sujeeth asking me to join ‘Saaho’ to play the role of Jennifer, there was only one answer: yes,” Evelyn wrote on Instagram.
Along with it, she posted a photograph in which she can be seen sharing smiles with Prabhas.
“Saaho”, a Sujeeth directorial, is scheduled to release in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil on August 30. It also features Shraddha Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh.
