‘Jagan garu don’t become another Tughlaq’

Andhra Pradesh capital city, Amaravati is a hot topic in the state politics now. YSRCP government is making confusing statements on the capital and making the people fall in dilemma. TDP leaders are fuming on YSRCP’s plan to shift the capital to a new place.

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani has a suggestion for AP CM YS Jagan on this issue. He advised Jagan not to become another Mohammad Bin Tughlaq. This king of 14th century changed the capital from Delhi to Daulatabad in Maharashtra and vice versa. During then it caused a lot of trouble for the people. “Do make sure your name will not get into history like Tughlaq who has a bad reputation of shifting the capital city,” tweeted Nani.

Meanwhile, YSRCP is claiming that it is updating the BJP government in the national capital on the developments happening in the state. Contrary to these remarks, BJP has denied YSRCP’s claims and warned not to do such cheap publicity. AP BJP chief Kanna said YSRCP is unnecessarily dragging PM Modi in this whole issue.

Pehlwaan Trailer: Eega Villain Strikes

Sports genres run on high emotions and are intense films. When such genre meets a terrific actor, it’s a double impact. ‘Pehlwaan’ is the next of Eega villain Kiccha Sudeep and we have the trailer of it.

Playing the role of a wrestler for the first time, Sudeep appears like a pro with full of muscles and beefed up body. But Krishna (Sudeep’s role) wants to become a professional boxer and needs a proper guidance to achieve this. With the help of his mentor played by Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, Krishna somehow reaches it. This journey of Krishna forms the plot.

Written and directed by Krishna, the trailer is good but the plot gives a routine vibe. If the emotions work big time, then the film will mint big at the box office.

Sudeep is very good in his role and displays great intensity and Suniel Shetty has added star value to the film. ‘Devadas’ fame Aakanksha Singh is playing the female lead role.

Sai Korrapati is presenting ‘Pehlwaan’ and release date is confirmed on September 12th.

HC Gives ‘Reverse’ Punch To AP Govt

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has suspended the termination notices issued to Navayuga company by Polavaram Hydal project chief engineer. The Court also found fault in YSRCP government’s reverse tendering process and asked the government to put them on hold until the next orders.

Last week Navayuga was issued pre-closure notices by YSRCP government and asked to stop the construction related to headworks and Hydal project. On this Navayuga approached the High Court and after hearing the arguments, the court was not convinced with government’s point of view. This is a big blow to the YSRCP government which has alleged huge corruption in the project after a report by experts committee.

Reacting on High Court’s ruling, TDP chief Chandrababu said this is a slap on YSRCP government which is unilaterally taking decisions. “I have been saying the same thing. Experiments on Polavaram will lead to delay of the project and reverse tendering will double the budget of the construction. This is madness by YSRCP government,” said Chandrababu.

Senior Tollywood scriptwriter and producer Kona Venkat is back in Hyderabad after wrapping up Anushka’s crossover film, Nissabdham (Silence in English). The film also has Hollywood star Michael Madsen in a key role.

Meanwhile, Kona Venkat has pulled off a huge surprise when he announced that he will set up a Rs 500 crore world-class film studio and a theme water park in Surya Lanka, Guntur. The studio will be modeled after the reputed Disneyland Studios in Hollywood.

Interestingly, Kona Venkat will be joining hands with the ruling YSRCP government and an international organization to set up the studio. He has already begun surveying the lands in Surya Lanka for the project.

It’s worth noting that Kona Venkat’s brother Kona Raghupathi is the Deputy Speaker in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. Kona alone can’t be so courageous to take such a huge risk. Needless to say, some bigwigs must be behind Kona in this ambitious project.

The silence of Allu Brothers including that of Allu Arjun, Sirish and Bobby have created a storm in fan circles as everyone started poking about it. Though Allu Arjun made a tweet on Chiranjeevi’s birthday, he just shared the link of Sye Raa teaser without any special mentioning of the film or the teaser.

Cut to Mumbai, Allu Arjun and Sirish were seen attending the party thrown by director Nikhil Advani of ‘Batla House’ fame, on August 21st night. The same time, Chiranjeevi fans were busy celebrating his birthday in Shilparamam with Pawan Kalyan as Chief Guest and Sai Dharam Tej amon the attendees. Many wonder how Allu brothers skipped this event but not the Mumbai party?

But one gets surprised to see how come Bunny gave preference to Nikhil Advani over Chiranjeevi. However, another talk is doing rounds that Allu Arjun is in Mumbai and met Chiranjeevi-Charan there, before actually departing to the party.

HC stalls reverse tendering in Polavaram

In what can be considered a first setback for the YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the state high court on Thursday stalled his plan to go in for reverse tendering for completion of 960 MW Polavaram hydro power station being built as part of the Polavaram irrigation project on Godavari river.

The high court found fault with the Jagan government for terminating the contract of Navayuga Engineering Company Limited (NECL) which was awarded by the previous Telugu Desam Party government.

It ordered that the works be restored to the same company which has to complete the project within the deadline of June 2021

However, the high court order is restricted only to the power project component which is worth Rs 3170 crore, but not the head works and other related works of the irrigation project.

The company has to move the court on the irrigation works separately. The irrigation component costs Rs 1800 crore for the balance works.

On August 14, the AP Power Generation Corporation (APGenco) issued orders as per the directions of the government to cancel the contract of Navayuga and go in for fresh tenders. The irrigation department floated fresh tenders on August 19.

The YSRC government has been alleging that there were large scale irregularities and corruption in awarding the contracts to Navayuga by the previous TDP government.

Navayuga moved the high court challenging the termination of contract.

It argued that the company was not responsible for the delay, which is mainly due to allotment of project site by APGenco.

Megastar Chiranjeevi turned a year older on Thursday and the actor celebrated his 64th birthday with his family – wife Surekha Konidela,actor son Ram Charan and daughters Sreeja and Sushmita.

On the occasion of his birthday, his friends and family members wished him on social media and the most adorable birthday greeting came from his daughter Sreeja Kalyan.
