Saaho Team Approaches Govt for Ticket Prices

Share

‘Saaho’ is hitting the screens this August 30. Online ticket bookings are all set to be opened. However, they are looking for clarity on the ticket prices.

Prabhas starrer ‘Saaho’ is made with whopping budget of Rs 350 Cr and it was sold for record prices to the distributors in Telugu states.

In Ceded alone, the movie was sold for Rs 25 Cr. In Nizam, the movie is being released by the makers on commission basis but they are expecting revenue on par with ‘Baahubali 2’. To recover this huge amount, they need hike in ticket rates for at least one week.

Buzz is that the team Saaho recently met the government representatives of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh requesting the hike of ticket prices for two weeks. Clarity will come in couple of days.

The owners of RTC X Roads theaters in Hyderabad are already hinting that the ticket prices would be in the range of Rs 200.

This Hyderabad school produced leaders in all fields

Hyderabad: What is common among Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, India”s permanent representative at the United Nations Syed Akbaruddin, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and well-known cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle. They are all products of the same Hyderabad Public School.

The premier educational institution of the city has churned out powerful corporate honchos like Mastercard President and CEO Ajay Banga, founder and CEO of Fairfax Financial Holding Prem Watsa and Adobe Systems CEO Shantanu Narayan besides Satya Nadella.

With Syed Akbaruddin in news for leading India”s charge on Kashmir at the United Nations, the spotlight is on the distinguished alumni of Hyderabad Public School (HPS).

“My Alma Mater-ever grateful 2 thee (sic.),” the leading diplomat tweeted after HPS said it was proud to recognize man of the moment.

Syed Akbaruddin, who passed out from HPS in 1976, is the 1985-batch IFS officer and handled many key diplomatic assignments including the spokesperson of the ministry of foreign affairs.

The HPS alumni rose to great heights of success and fame in different fields like business, politics, civil services, sports and films.

Cobra beer founder and a member of UK Parliament Karan Billimoria, former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, former cricketer Venkatpathy Raju and Telugu actors Akkineni Nagarjuna and Rana Daggubati are among the other alumni of 96-year-old school.

HPS managing committee member Marri Aditya Reddy told that the institution was proud of its alumni excelling in various walks of life. He was all praise for Syed Akbaruddin for the way he is defending India at the United Nations.

“Somebody who comes from Hyderabad and from simple upbringing is defending the nation. We are so proud of him. It speaks of the immense value system created at HPS over the decades,” said Aditya Reddy, grandson of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Marri Channa Reddy.

With its strong eco-system, HPS helped its pupils coming from modest background to become leaders in different fields.

“This is what gives us excitement. Ordinary people were able to excel in personal and professional capacities. It was possible due to the value system created in the HPS atmosphere,” said Aditya Reddy, also an alumni of HPS.

Inspired by famous Eton College of Britain, Mir Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam of Hyderabad State founded the school in 1923. It was exclusively meant for the sons of the nobility.

It was only in 1951 that the HPS opened its doors for public. Even after Independence and Hyderabad State”s merger with Indian Union, the school had the elitist tag as children of only powerful politicians, wealthy businessmen, IAS and IPS officers and celebrities used to get admission.

The school started admitting girls in 1984. Aditya Reddy said when Channa Reddy was the chief minister he brought a balance in the running of the school by giving some control to the government by making principal secretary education the chairman of HPS board of governors.

HPS, which started with six students in 1923, today has nearly 3,000 students. It is run by a society comprising eminent people from all walks of life. Its management committee has seven members while 35-member board looks after day to day affairs of the institution.

Spread over 130 acres in Begumpet near the old airport in the heart of the city, HPS is said to have the largest campus than Vatican City. Its main building is a heritage structure while the campus has trekking routes, rock-formations, two cricket fields, athletic arena and several hockey, football grounds and a big library.

Aditya Reddy said HPS shed the tag of elitist school long ago and it had been giving admissions to SCs, STs, BCs and minorities as per the government policy.

“We have been maintaining the social and economic balance. There is no differentiation as we also admit children from under privileged sections of the society,” he said.

Sye Raa Copied Those Shots From Baahubali?

Share

The pictures of Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan posing with Prabhas at a Mumbai hotel have spoken about the bonhomie between these stars. And also they gave a hint that Charan invested in Saaho, and Prabhas is helping Sye Raa team to get the needed promotions. Here is the opposite of it, however.

Some of the images being shared on social media are indicating that actually Sye Raa’s scenes and action stunts are a bit inspired by Baahubali and Baahubali. There are those trollers who are busy sharing some ‘comparison’ images showcasing how each and every pose of Prabhas from Baahubali is repeated with Megastar Chiru now.

These fans want to show that Prabhas is the father of all stunts and inspiring action sequences, but that will misfire bigtime. Because all those poses are actually lifted from films like 300 and its sequel, and some from the epic war scenes in TV series like Game of Thrones. So literally this nothing like Chiru copying Prabhas, but both Prabhas and Chiru copying Hollywood stunts.

All said and done, whether it is Baahubali or Sye Raa, the scale at which Telugu films are being made though they have inspired content is a big thing.

Kaleshwaram Launch: Rs 1.66 Crore Gifts to VIPs

Share

In a shocking report, it is revealed that the Telangana state government has splurged a whopping Rs 1.66 Crore public money for the gifts to the VIP guests who attended the grand inauguration ceremony of Kaleshwaram Irrigation Project on June 21st this year.

It is learnt that the state government had earlier ordered to make Special Mementos for the VIP guests. Of which 12 were in the shape of Veena and others were made in the shape of Peacock, Charminar and Kakatiya Kala Thoranam of Warangal. All the mementos were silver filigree costing Rs 1,66,86,000.

As per the directions from the OSD in the Chief Minister’s Office and Department of protocol, the order was placed by Karimnagar district collector. The General Administration Department had issued a GO on August 20 for the same and stated the total cost as Rs 1.66 Crore. The GO issued has sanctioned Rs 83.43 lakh i.e 50 percent of the total cost.

Kaleshwaram project is one of the most expensive irrigation project by a state government and its overall cost is pegged at staggering Rs 80,000 Crore. Even several intellectuals like Jayaprakash Narayan and others have questioned the huge cost of project and the value of its return. But CM KCR has shot back at all of them who questioned the Kaleshwaram project stating that those who questioning don’t know the value of the project and the benefits farmers of the state going to get.

Kodela is bringing bad name for party: TDP leader

Share

Former AP Assembly speaker Kodela Siva Prasad is under severe criticism for using furniture of the assembly. He tried to settle the issue by offering to return them or pay the total value of the furniture. The ruling YSRCP lashed at out Kodela for obvious reasons but Kodela is in more trouble because his own party leaders are also not happy for his actions.

Senior leader Varla Ramaiah said, “Kodela is a senior leader and in the past had been in many positions when in government. He never took advantage of government benefits but it is unfortunate that he is in the wrong side. Kodela should not have used Assembly furniture at all and should have returned the furniture next day after the election results. Because of such actions, party’s reputation is getting damaged”

Ramaiah further added that the party is in crisis sort of situation and at this time, even TDP chief Chandrababu will also get into trouble which is not appropriate. “TDP leaders should not become burden to party president instead should support him in every aspect,” stated Ramaiah and he then took on YSRCP which is making wild allegations.

“Naturally when your opponent finds fault, they will criticize you. Being in government they are unable find out our wrongdoings and when they get something like Kodela’s issue, they turn it into a big scene,” said Ramaiah. He concluded by advising Kodela to return the furniture on his own and express regret for his action.

Talk Of The Town: Chiranjeevi And Pawan’s Reunion

Share

After Pawan Kalyan forayed into politics through Janasena Party, there are a lot of differences between the mega brothers though Megastar Chiru stayed away from all kinds of politics later. Here and now, there used to be a buzz about Chiru upset with Pawan, and the latter trying to avoid his big brothers. It looks like things have changed now.

And during election time, all the mega heroes have met Pawan to extend their support to his political journey. As we can see, post the election, Pawan Kalyan went to meet Chiranjeevi along with Nadendla Manohar for reasons unknown. Then Pawan emerged at the dubbing theatre, giving his voice over for Sye Raa teaser. Later he joined Chiranjeevi’s birthday celebrations other day along with Allu Arvind and teased fans big time.

Back to Twitter, Pawan is not only tweeting birthday wishes to his brother but went on explaining his brother’s legacy to the world. After many months, Pawan has actually tweeted as well, and about Chiranjeevi only. Later he started putting tweets on meeting Amitabh Bachhan and the greatness of him too.

All in all, this mega reunion of Pawan with Chiranjeevi is actually giving all the good feelers to mega fans and they are upbeat about it.

Burada Politics: Paid Artists By TDP

Share

The politics in Andhra have hit new low. While the war of words between ruling YCP and Opposition TDP continue, a video by Opposition party targeting the ruling party on the floods have become hot topic.

The opposition had slammed ruling YCP over floods. It posted a video on its social media page using some of its own “paid artists” who were shown as farmers affected by floods and common people affected by floods and they accuse the government of not carrying any relief works. Interestingly, YCP’s social media wing has shot back with a befitting counter by “exposing” TDP’s conspiracy.

YCP has shown how the “artists” featured in TDP’s latest flood video had earlier surfaced in the TDP’s official advertisements during elections. YCP leaders have come down heavily on TDP’s use of “paid artists” to target government. They said TDP is resorting to such “cheap tactics” to defame YS Jagan government. However, they said it is TDP which is becoming “laughing stock” as they say the people of AP are with YCP.

YCP’s Roja has attacked Chandrababu and Nara Lokesh for such acts. Roja said “Pappu” Lokesh’s Tweets expose his lack of knowledge on issues and how he keeps embarrassing himself and his party on issues like ‘Artificial Floods by using Boats’. Roja asked TDP to stop its “Burada Politics” (Politics of mud-slinging) and to seriously focus on people’s issues.

Looks like, TDP also losing the track and is getting into verbal spat with YCP and tarnishing its own image.

Sharwa Should Understand These 3 Ms

Share

After a lot of hungama before the film’s release regarding the style quotient inside the movie, Sharwanand’s Ranarangam failed to impress the audiences. While the hero, who started promoting the film only two days in advance, has stated that reviews have upset him but audiences gave a nice verdict, it’s high time to delve into the truth.

While Ranrangam has a good opening day, the film didn’t live up to expectations in the next couple of days as it made close to 7 Cr share in the first weekend. As the film got sold for 16+ crores when it comes to theatrical rights, it is just halfway through, but the Monday collections and Tuesday bookings are not hopeful for the film’s recovery. One wonders if Sharwa is reading into this or busy shooting for the next film.

Firstly, he needs to understand the ‘market’ and make his producer invest accordingly rather pouring money to get stylised looks. Then he should make sure that the film has enough ‘material’ that it will work at the box office even in odd situations. In case if the content is bad, then he should escalate the ‘marketing’ by focusing on hefty promotions that place the film on must watch list of audiences.

If these 3 Ms are not in place, then results will always topple. For a hero who delivered 40+ crore hits like Mahanubhavudu and Satamanam Bhavati, a 10 crores range collection is a lesson of sorts. Learn it Sharwa!!

Pic: Here Is Charan Wishing Megastar, A Happy Birthday

Share

Megastar Chiranjeevi is turning a year older today and all his fans and family members started celebrating the star’s birthday already. While Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam tej joined the celebrations in the eve along with Allu Aravind, here is Ram Charan wishing his dad, Chiranjeevi a very happy birthday.

Ram Charan posted a picture on his social media account sending the Birthday wishes. He quoted it “You’ve been an inspiration, a mentor and a guide to millions including me. They call you #MEGASTAR and I call you Appa. Wish you a very happy birthday Appa. May you continue inspiring all of us. Love you a lot. #HBDMegastarChiranjeevi”.

Sye Raa is another reason for fans and family to be excited on Chiru’s birthday and the teaser already garnered attention everywhere with stunning visuals and goosebump dialogues.

#BiggBoss3: Spicy Dances Dominate The House

Share

With Bigg Boss understanding that halfway through the week, actually, the show is getting bored, he has other day given the task of ‘talent show’ for the contestants. And that worked out well we have to say.

The likes of Himaja, Varun Sandesh and Rahul Sipligunj showcased their singing talent as Bigg Boss asked them to put up anyone from dancing/acting and singing to entertain the judges, who happen to be Baba Bhaskar and Sreemukhi. While Himaja failed to impress, Varun and Rahul, each got a bottle of cool drink for being best. Vithika and Mahesh Vitta’s mono action hasn’t worked.

Then came Punarnavi and Ashu Reddy who have performed to the spicy songs like Iraga Iraga and Jigelu Rani respectively. They have got nice movements to show, while Ashu’s expressions are a treat to watch. Then comes Ali Reza, who has thrown away his shirt and impressed all with his hot looks. Dancing to Swing Zara song, he flaunted six-pack abs and danced like Tamanna in that song.

Siva Jyothy’s magic trick and Ravi’s man-woman look and dancing, haven’t made any impact.
