Niharika’s Bad Luck – Sye Raa Fate?

Share

Niharika Konidela has done three feature films ( Oka Manasu, Happy Wedding, Suryakantam) so far. None of these projects were commercially successful. As a result, Doubts have been raised on the fate of ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ in which she has done a character.

In her recent interview, Niharika claimed her role in ‘Sye Raa’ will be special even though it’s duration is short. That shows her confidence on the critical acclaim aspect. What about the Box Office result?

‘Sye Raa’ is the costliest flick of Chiranjeevi. It’s only next to Baahubali and Saaho in terms of budget. When so much money is at stake, Everything should work in favour to hit the bull’s eye. Or else, Damage could be beyond anybody’s capacity to handle. Let’s Only hope Niharika’s bad luck ends with this prestigious project..!

Centre upset with Jagan on Polavaram re-tenders!

Share

The NDA government at the Centre appears to be terribly upset with the decision of YSR Congress party government headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to go in for “reverse tendering” of balance works on Polavaram project.

Despite objections raised by the Polavaram Project Authority (a wing of the Union water resources ministry) at an emergency meeting held on August 13 over Jagan’s decision to terminate the contract given to Navayuga Engineering and go in for fresh tenders, the state government announced its decision to call for commencement of reverse tendering process on Saturday.

This has angered the PPA authorities. On Friday night, PPA chairman R K Jain wrote a strongly-worded letter to irrigation secretary stating that the Jagan government’s decision to call for fresh tenders for the completion of Polavaram balance works was unnecessary.

“There is neither enough ground nor any necessity for pre-closure of tenders and re-tendering of project works. Such a decision will plunge the project into uncertainty,” he said and suggested that the entire process be stopped or at least kept in abeyance till the Centre takes a decision.

However, Jagan has decided to go ahead with the tenders and might issue the fresh tender notification later in the evening. The department has already issued guidelines for reverse tendering process.

One of the prestigious projects that is coming from the creative brains of Tollywood after Baahubali franchise and Saaho is none other than Sye Raa. As Megastar Chiranjeevi is getting ready to bring the story of first-ever freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy to life on the big screen, every film lover is waiting in awe.

An interesting buzz has that Chiranjeevi is taking extensive care of the film’s post-production works along with director Surender Reddy. While Chiru is known for involving in editing works of his movies, this time he is also looking at how VFX is turning up and we hear that he is actively monitoring every piece of work.

To make things happen at a brisk pace, the editing studio is set up at Konidela Productions office only. And with the release date inching forward, Chiru and his son, producer Ram Charan, are said to be spending almost 10 hours daily at their office, monitoring all the works.

At a time when producers and star heroes leave everything to their directors and watching the final copy only in theatres, it’s really interesting to see Chiru and Charan sweating it out this way. Sye Raa is hitting cinemas on October 2nd.

Jagan ready to provide house to Naidu!

Share

Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu might be adamant in not vacating his house on the banks of Krishna river at Vundavalli, but his political career was already drowned in the anger of the people.

This was the charge levelled by YSR Congress party MLA and spokesman Ambati Rambabu on Saturday.

He said it was unfortunate that Naidu had still been living in an illegal construction on the Krishna river bund making baseless allegations against the government.

“Naidu has been casting aspersions on the government that drones are being used to snoop on his house. Drones are being used to identify the effect of floods and to evacuate people to safer places,” said Rambabu.

Rambabu demanded that Naidu should leave the house immediately for his own safety.

“Why did he not build his own house in Amaravati? Chief Minister Sri Jagan built his own house and is staying there. Naidu does not believe in making Amaravati his home and hence stayed in a rented illegal house,” he alleged.

The YSRCP MLA said Naidu should leave the house immediately as a true and responsible citizen of the state and said the government will certainly look into provisions of providing a house to Naidu if he seeks to have one. He is already getting house rent allowance, he added.

He wondered why Naidu should occupy an illegal construction which was below the maximum flood level and where the need for the government was to sink his house.

“It is unbecoming of an opposition leader to make such demeaning allegations. Naidu has lost the elections because of his high-handedly behavior,” Rambabu said.

Naidu served notice to vacate house in view of floods

Share

Amaravati: Authorities in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday served a notice on former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to vacate the house on the banks of Krishna river here in view of the flood situation.

With rising Krishna water threatening to inundate houses along its banks, revenue officials asked the residents to move to safer places. Officials said notices were served on 32 houses to prevent any loss of life.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and Leader of Opposition in the Andhra Assembly Chandrababu Naidu and his family members had left the house a few days ago. As nobody was available at Naidu’s house, Undavalli Village Revenue Officer (VRO) pasted the notice on its entrance.

However, leaders of the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) allege that Naidu has “run away to Hyderabad since the onset of floods”.

Earlier on Friday, Naidu alleged that there was a conspiracy being hatched against him after a drone was seen hovering over his house. TDP workers staged a protest claiming that the drone was taking pictures of their party chief’s house.

Water Resources Minister P. Anil Kumar, however, clarified that the drone was deployed by the Water Resources Department to take visuals of the water and monitor the flood situation.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had earlier alleged that Naidu was living in a house built on river bank in a violation of the River Conservancy Act and other environment norms.

In June, state authorities had served a demolition notice on Lingameneni Ramesh, from whom Naidu had taken the house on lease after he shifted here from Hyderabad in 2016.

The government also demolished Praja Vedika, a meeting hall build adjacent to Naidu’s residence.

Jagan calls for catalysing US-Andhra economic ties

Share

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has urged the US-India Business Council (USIBC) to work with his government to identify ‘5 big ideas’ to catalyse the US-Andhra Pradesh economic partnership.

He said that Andhra Pradesh and USIBC can prepare a roadmap to achieve investment and trade targets especially in the areas of agriculture and food security, healthcare, education, infrastructure and manufacturing.

He mooted the idea while addressing a business roundtable discussion organised by USIBC and the Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center.

The roundtable with Jagan Reddy in collaboration with Georgetown University focused on opportunities to strengthen connectivity between the US and Andhra Pradesh and it laid the foundation for investment and trade opportunities, according to an official release.

Jagan Reddy is on a private visit to the US to admit his daughter to a university but is scheduled to hold few meetings with US officials.

“Andhra Pradesh is poised to catalyse investments, capital and partnerships owing to robust infrastructure for connectivity, enabling policies, integration with global value chains, shifting demographic dividend and a ready work force,” the Chief Minister said.

He said the government was committed to strengthen the human, physical, natural and financial resources, though the launch of several programmes are based on a four pronged approach – driving economic growth, investment in the future and human potential, creating a social safety net for its people and transforming governance.

Jagan Reddy laid his emphasis on delivery of corruption free governance, bringing transparency in procurement and contract management and providing investor friendly experience through one-stop handholding of investors across the implementation lifecycle.

Rob Schroder, Senior Vice President, International Affairs, US Chamber of Commerce, appreciated Jagan Reddy’s impressive mandate for unlocking the expansive growth potential of Andhra Pradesh.

India’s ambassador to US, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, described Jagan Reddy’s decisive victory a landmark event and said this will support India’s rise into a $5 trillion economy.

Irfan Nooruddin, Director of the South Asia Center at the Atlantic Council said that the council would help Andhra Pradesh to engage closely with the private sector on building climate resilience.
