TRS, the biggest regional party in India!
If the claims being made by the leaders of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in Telangana, the party is the largest in the entire country in terms of its membership strength.
According to sources, the TRS has set a record of sorts with over 60 lakh members getting registered within 30 days, the highest for any regional party in the country.
The membership details are being consolidated and will be handed over to the party leadership before July 30.
The data pertaining to more than 40 lakh members has already reached the party headquarters while the digitalisation of the data of more than 20 lakh members completed.
The party general secretary and Government Whip Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said exact numbers could be ascertained only after the consolidated data was digitalised.
The TRS collected a whopping Rs 15 crore through membership fee alone, indicating the growing popularity of the party among people of the State.
Going by the statistics, the TRS membership is nearly one-fifth of the total number of voters in Telangana – 2.95 crore as per the latest enrolment with the Election Commission.
Assuming that all the 60 lakh members manage to get four votes each for the TRS, it would get 2.40 crore votes.
If the percentage of voting in the elections is 75 per cent, it would mean all the votes that will be polled in the next elections will go to the TRS and the BJP, Congress and other parties will not get even a single vote!
In more than 20 Assembly constituencies, the TRS surpassed 50,000 mark, while another 10 segments received more than 60,000 registrations. Gajwel and Palakurthy constituencies have seen more than 70,000 enrolments.
“People showcased their love for Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao during a series of elections since December last. They showered their love and affection towards him yet again by enrolling themselves as TRS activists,” TRS working president K T Rama Rao said.
PVP takes pot shots at twitter bird Nani!
Senior Telugu Desam Party leader and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani has been embarrassing his own party leaders including party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu through his controversial comments on social media platform Twitter for the last few weeks.
But there is one person who has launched a counter-attack on Kesineni using the same social media platform. He is YSR Congress party leader and industrialist Potluri Vara Prasad, better known as PVP.
Irrespective of whether Kesineni tweets about YSRC or chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy or for that matter any other party or leader, PVP is coming out with a strong retort, pushing the MP to corner.
For the last few days, former employees of Kesineni Travels promoted by Kesineni have been staging dharna in front of his office demanding payment of wage arrears pending for the last three years.
The Vijayawada MP clarified to the media that he had no dues to be paid to any employee and if anybody comes with proper evidences, he was ready to pay them.
But the employees have not stopped the agitation and it took a serious turn with the entry of Communist Party of India (CPI) workers in the stir.
This has angered Kesineni, who tweeted that the Communist parties which had glorious history had been facing extinction only because they had become hired parties.
Within no time, PVP gave a strong retort to Kesineni: “I am also feeling the same anguish, my friend! How our “Red Brothers,” who had the capacity to challenge the might of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, had been stooped down to fight with a “kaun kiska gaadu” (insignificant fellow) who has glorious history of looting the people.”
This has led to the twitter war between followers of Kesineni and PVP, making the battle all the more interesting!
Producer C Kalyan Wins Over Dil Raju Gang
Producer C Kalyan has proved that he has bigger influence and clout among the producers, exhibitors, and distributors than the other active producers.
In the polls held for Telugu Film Chamber, producer C Kalyan’s panel won hands down securing a total of nine EC members.
Twelve members contested as the Executive Committee members and out of these nine members belonging to C Kalyan’s panel won.
The opposition panel secured only two seats. Those two seats went to Dil Raju and Dhamu. Another independent producer Mohan Goud secured a seat.
C Kalyan is currently producing a film with Nandamuri Balakrishna. He is close to Balakrishna and Dr Rajasekhar.
A Tollywood Batch Spewing Venom on VD?
mrade”, it has proved that Vijay Deverakonda is a huge star as the film fetched Rs 11 Cr share worldwide. This is a huge share for a mid-range star movie.
But the film has witnessed a huge negative campaign in Tollywood industry’s inside circles.
Particularly, a group belonging to some stars have started spreading this as soon as the morning show concluded.
The massive openings have made those gang be on alert. They might have feared that if he scores another big hit, it will be trouble for them.
As the film received a mixed talk and not-so-impressing reviews, they are relieved but they didn’t stop spewing venom on Vijay Deverakonda.
Now is the time for this self-made star to understand that he is treading a dangerous path.
They will pull him down further and he should do films that attract the masses and wider audiences. That he would cement his status as a major star.
Once a star achieves that status, a hit or flop doesn’t affect the market.
TRS may face challenge from BJP in municipal polls
After a setback in the recent Lok Sabha polls, Telangana”s ruling TRS is gearing up to bounce back in ensuing elections to urban local bodies but may face a stiff challenge from a spirited opposition, mainly the BJP.
Elections to 132 municipalities are likely to be held next month when the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will be looking to repeat the performance of Assembly elections held in December 2018 and subsequent panchayat polls.
Buoyed by the massive inroads it made in the Lok Sabha elections by winning four seats, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is preparing to give a tough fight to the TRS.
Trying to project itself as the alternative to the ruling party, BJP is looking to build on its victory in Secunderabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Adilabad Lok Sabha constituencies.
BJP retained Secunderabad and wrest three seats from TRS while Congress also came up with good performance to bag three seats. Out of 17 Lok Sabha seats in the state, TRS won nine seats while its ally All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) retained the lone seat. However, the results were a setback for TRS, which was confident of a clean sweep.
TRS, which swept the rural local body elections held last month, is confident of repeating the performance in municipal polls. BJP, however, is hopeful of cashing in on the perceived support among urban voters to bag majority of municipalities.
With BJP going aggressive with its best-ever performance in Lok Sabha polls in Telangana by polling 19 per cent votes, its leaders are confident of the party emerging as an alternative to TRS and storming to power in 2023 elections.
Signalling the significance the party attached to Telangana, party”s national president Amit Shah chose Telangana to launch the membership drive. He asked the party cadre to increase the party”s vote share in the coming elections to 50 per cent.
Though the BJP state leadership had set a membership target of 16 lakh, Shah revised it to 18 lakh. As part of ”Mission 2023”, Shah plans to visit Telangana every month to strengthen the organisation.
“BJP will contest all the seats in the municipal polls and we are confident that the party will win majority of the seats,” said state BJP chief K. Laxman.
Though the Congress did well in the Lok Sabha polls to win three seats, the party suffered a huge blow after the results with 12 out of its 18 MLAs merging with TRS. The party has also lost the status of main opposition party in the Assembly.
Other opposition parties are also in no mood to join hands with Congress for the municipal elections. The Left parties and Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) plan to contest the polls on their own.
Congress had contested Assembly elections in alliance with Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Communist Party of India (CPI) and TJS. However, TRS retained power, winning 88 seats in the 119-member Assembly. Its ally AIMIM retained seven seats. Congress could secure 19 seats while TDP got two. The BJP got just one seat.
With other opposition parties posing no major threat, the TRS is focusing on BJP, especially in the four Lok Sabha seats that it won.
Leading the party in another poll battle, TRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao is busy holding meetings with the party leaders to work out a strategy to counter BJP.
The ruling party is continuing its aggressive membership drive. It claims to have enrolled 40 lakh members so far and hopes that the total number will go up to 60 lakh in next few days.
Rama Rao, who is son of TRS President and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, is confident that the welfare schemes being implemented by the government and its focus on addressing people”s problems at local level would once again help it come out with flying colours.
Pawan Kalyan Resumes Political Activity Again
Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan will resume his political activity once again from Monday. He has invited all the leaders of his party to Vijayawada on July 29.
He will hold a series of meetings with Parliamentary constituency-wise leaders and party committees at party offices in Mangalagiri and Vijayawada from July 29.
He is focusing on strengthening the party after it saw debacle in the recently concluded general elections. He will have face-to-face interaction with all the leaders.
Recently, Pawan Kalyan met his brother Megastar Chiranjeevi in “Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy” office in Hyderabad.
Around the same time, producer A M Ratnam also met him and held long discussions. This prompted people to believe that Pawan Kalyan is planning to return to the Tollywood industry.
But he is serious about building his Jana Sena party and make it a force by next assembly elections.
#BiggBoss S03 E06: Varun Sandesh, Watch It Carefully Bro
The problem for contestants in #BiggBoss reality show is, what goes around comes around. Right now, Varun Sandesh, one of the star contestants of the show, has pushed himself into a position where he projected himself as hero opposite comedian Mahesh Vitta. But what would happen to this down the lane?
Apparently, during the discussion, flare-ups between Varun and Mahesh haven’t sounded great. While Mahesh sounds bit arrogant, Varun is also pretty the same with a bit of softer accent. Later when Mahesh tried to apologise in person to Varun, the hero hasn’t got convinced with the act and left the scene with aggression.
Going by the last two seasons and the reactions of the people, there are some contestants who have created issues for themselves, later they continued that headstrong behaviour till the end, but they never got the support of huge numbers of audiences. Maybe Varun Sandesh is also slipping into a similar zone by exaggerating the issue between his wife and Mahesh Vitta, it looks like.
Sample this: Though Varun asked Mahesh to not call him ‘bro’, in the end, he addressed Mahesh as ‘bro’ and ‘brother’ as words became superfluous. For audiences watching the show carefully, these bonkers are going to send negative signals.
#BiggBoss S03 E06: Impressive Dramas By Two Teams!
Though there is neither captain of the house nor there is a big competition going on, Bigg Boss is busy giving some entertainment tasks to the inmates. And he has given the task of enacting a drama, dividing the inmates into two teams, and here is how they fared.
Apparently, the team lead by Sreemukhi and Hema have delivered a crime comedy where they have entertained quite well. Varun Sandesh as a fearing dumb guy, Sreemukhi as a tour guide, Hema as a lady who warns the people coming to an old mahal has done pretty well. At the same time, Jabardasth Rohini and TV actor Ravi have danced to the tune of Abbani Tiyyani Debba, which might not impress mega fans.
And the other team led by Baba Bhaskar has however picked a social drama without any comedy. It’s about businessman exploiting farmers, forcing them to sell their lands, and Baba Bhaskar has given a nice message through this. All the participants like Rahul Sipliganj, Himaja, Ali, Mahesh and Jaffer have shined in their parts.
Though we can’t fix a winner from these two performances, both have impressed audiences.
Pic Talk: Another Hottest Bikini Body In Town
The counting will be on fingertips if we look at those young heroines who have a bikini body to die for. The likes of Disha Patani, Pooja Hegde and Katrina Kaif can mesmerise at any given time when it comes to flaunting such hot looks in a two-piece outfit. And here joins another lady.
From going on a strict diet to starving herself, youngster Vaani Kapoor is said to have worked quite hard to flaunt her bikini physique again. Though she made men go crazy with her temptest looks in Befikre earlier as she slipped into lingerie even, right now she’s romancing Hrithik Roshan in ‘War’ movie. And she slipped into a two piece to make sure that her hotness clouds over the film.
As Vaani raises up from the sea, surely she’s gonna set the screens on fire like how these pictures are scorching the social media already. This is the third film for her in Yash Raj camp, which closes her three film deal and we have to see what she will get post the release of ‘War’. Hope the hottest bikini body helps!!
Okkadu Touch In Sarileru Neekevvaru
When Mahesh Babu has done films like Okkadu and Arjun, they are famous for two things. While the content induced by Gunasekhar is of one level, the way they have come up realistic life-size sets of few monuments have mesmerized all.
That Charminar set in Okkadu and Madurai Meenakshi temple set in Arjun are two masterpieces Telugu industry has ever built we have to say. At that time, Mahesh has shot at ‘Kondareddy Buruju’ in Kurnool, but with him being a small hero then, there was no issue with crowd control. Now that he’s a superstar, shooting at that Buruju is not possible.
For the faction related scenes in Sarileru Neekevvaru, currently, the makers of this movie are erecting Kondareddy Buruju set in Hyderabad itself. Along with that set, that particular busy roads centre in Kurnool is also being erected. They are most likely to conceive a scene on Mahesh and Vijayasanthi at this place, says a source.
After wrapping their Kashmir schedule recently, Sarileru Neekevvaru team has returned to Hyderabad and looking forward to this set-building to the wrapped in order to start the second schedule. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Mahesh plays Major Ajay Krishna in this film!

Negative Campaign On Allu Arjun Continues
For reasons unknown, various negative news regarding Stylish Star Allu Arjun are being circulated in film circles at the moment. With a gossip website and an English daily standing at the forefront of spreading these negative news, many are wondered what is actually happening in the Film Industry.
The latest negative news on Bunny is that he’s unhappy with Trivikram’s movie and got disconnected to the flick. Also, the English Dialy compared this film with Mahesh Babu super disastrous Brahmotsavam even before the teaser or trailer came. That sent ripples across film circles after rumours about Allu Arjun’s caravan, his tiff with co-director and others are spread to the core.
As the website and newspaper’s writers are closely associated with one star hero in Tollywood, many are wondering if they are trying to favour that hero by degrading Allu Arjun. Also, the mega hero’s Sankranthi clash is seen as another bone of contention that is leading to this smear campaign. That said, what could these campaigns do to a film’s prospects? Nothing.
No matter how many lies are spread and how much negativity engulfs, a blockbuster content always does well. And no matter how much a film is publicised, a pale content gets rebutted at the box office. While Bunny is advised to take stock of the situation, gossip creators also should cool down and live in reality.
Former CM’s Son Joins Hands With Boyapati
Director Boyapati Seenu is finding it tough to get a hero aboard owing to his previous flop film Vinaya Vidheya Rama. That said, the director is not bringing down the budgets for his stories and this is the primary reason he hasn’t yet signed any other hero till date.
From Akhil to Karthikeya, many heroes have rejected to do Boyapati’s movie at this point of time. But it looks like the director is sticking to his mega budget plan and finally, he got this cash-rich hero from neighbourhood state for his next. He is none other former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumar.
Apparently, Nikhil tried to make his mark in the recently concluded elections, but haven’t succeeded at any instant. And he’s looking forward to coming back to films and make a mark like his debut film ‘Jaguar’ which is talked about for the crore of the budget rather its content. And we hear that he has now given a freehand for Boyapati to make a commercial mass action movie with him.
Well, when budgets permit, surely Boyapoati rocks with action sequences, but hope this time he will put a bit of ‘story’ into the film.
