Former CM’s Son Joins Hands With Boyapati

Share

Director Boyapati Seenu is finding it tough to get a hero aboard owing to his previous flop film Vinaya Vidheya Rama. That said, the director is not bringing down the budgets for his stories and this is the primary reason he hasn’t yet signed any other hero till date.

From Akhil to Karthikeya, many heroes have rejected to do Boyapati’s movie at this point of time. But it looks like the director is sticking to his mega budget plan and finally, he got this cash-rich hero from neighbourhood state for his next. He is none other former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumar.

Apparently, Nikhil tried to make his mark in the recently concluded elections, but haven’t succeeded at any instant. And he’s looking forward to coming back to films and make a mark like his debut film ‘Jaguar’ which is talked about for the crore of the budget rather its content. And we hear that he has now given a freehand for Boyapati to make a commercial mass action movie with him.

Well, when budgets permit, surely Boyapoati rocks with action sequences, but hope this time he will put a bit of ‘story’ into the film.

Is Chaitu Rejected Another Script?

Share

It looks like hero Naga Chaitanya has understood the pulse of his audiences as he is making every move carefully after the super success of Majili movie. Earlier he has delivered some duds in a row after scoring a hit, and he doesn’t want that to happen again and again.

When everyone is wondering what film Chay might sign, he has picked up Sekhar Kammula’s movie for his next where he’s teaming up with mighty Sai Pallavi. And then he has rejected the stories of directors like RX100 fame Ajay Bhupathi and others, as he doesn’t want to do routine action filled formulaic films.

The latest buzz has that the hero has rejected a script from Dil Raju’s stable too. Apparently, the leading producers got a newcomer Sashi to come up with a family-values based subject, which was instantly liked by Chay during their first meet. However, when Sashi narrated the final version, the Akkineni star hasn’t got impressed with it and decided to let it go.

Sometimes finding the right stories and sometimes quitting the wrong ones, will make a hero’s career flourishing. Hope Chay got everything right.

I will miss the journey of ‘Dear Comrade’: VD

Hero Vijay Deverakonda said he will be definitely missing the journey of ‘Dear Comrade’ for sure as the film is very close to his heart.

Speaking at the ‘Dear Comrade’ team press meet, Vijay said he doesn’t understand the box office collections but many are saying this is the biggest in my career and he is happy for it.

“Many things are running my mind. Yesterday was such a big day and I have been saying right from promotions that ‘Dear Comrade’ is very special film as it made me explore my emotional side,” said Vijay and added that yes the film got mixed talk but many critics sent personal messages about it and it moved him.

“We have shown the romance in first half and second half is emotional and slow. That’s how life will be. When everything goes smooth a big thing happens in everyone’s life changes all. Also I’m super happy for Rashmika as her role is getting applause,” stated Vijay.

KCR gets Kaleshwaram ‘power bill’ shock!

Share

Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project, the brainchild of Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, delivered a shock to KCR in the very first month of its inauguration, in the form of ‘power bill’.

The first power bill of Kaleshwaram has been issued for Rs 20 crore.

This bill pertains to only Kannepally pump house from where water is lifted from Medigadda to Annaram barrages through six motors from June 21, when it was inaugurated by AP CM YS Jagan and KCR.

The lifting of water from Annaram to Sundilla has just commenced and the bill is yet to be issued.

Kannepally pump house is only one among the 20 pump houses that are set up to lift water to various barrages as part of Kaleshwaram project.

The Kannepally pump house too is yet to become fully operational.

If only one pump house at Kannepally, that too in operation partially, could cost Rs 20 crore per month, imagine the situation when all the 20 pump houses run 24×7.

The power bill is expected to cross Rs 10,000 crore per year when all the pump houses work.

To lift just a TMC of water, the expenditure incurred was Rs 1.50 crore now. There is no wonder even if power bill reaches Rs 15,000 crore per year in the coming days.

TS Transco and Genco are more worried than CM as they are clueless when the government will pay the bill because any dealy would only push them into financial crisis and adversely impact power sector in Telangana.

Various government departments already owe Rs 10,000 crore power bills to Transco.

The Kaleshwaram will further multiply these arrears.

When KCR cannot clear previous bills of departments for years, how can one expect him to clear mounting Kaleshwaram bills in time.

Watch: Jagan’s USA Trip Invitation

Share

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will be going on a foreign tour in two spells in August, his first overseas visit after assuming power in the state.

An official in the chief minister’s office said Jagan Reddy, along with his family members, will be leaving for Israel on August 1 on a four-day tour.

The Andhra chief minister will then be leaving on a week-long tour to the United States on August 16, after participating in the Independence Day celebrations at Visakhapatnam.

“This is also a private visit. He will be going to the US along with his wife Bharati Reddy and younger daughter Harsha Reddy for her admission in an undergraduate cours. He will return to Vijayawada late on August 22,” the official said.

Jagan Reddy is likely to address Telugu diaspora in Dallas as part of his trip on August 17.

According to Sridhar Reddy Korsapati, a representative of NATA, Jagan Reddy will address a public meeting of Telugu NRIs at Dallas Convention Center. “We are expecting huge turnout of Telugu NRIs, cutting across party lines,” Korsapati said.

How can KCR, Jagan support Modi bill?

Share

The way Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy outright supported a controversial bill brought in by Narendra Modi government at the Centre came as a shock to many legal experts.

The MPs belonging to Telangana Rashtra Samithi and YSR Congress party supported the RTI (Amendment) Bill 2019 in Rajya Sabha, thereby ensuring that it is passed with thumping majority.

Former central information commissioner Dr Madabushi Sridhar Acharyulu wondered whether KCR, Jagan or their party MPs had ever read the Bill and understood the implications of the changes that were made.

“Please try to take assistance of your legal teams and find how your support to this bill will kill your sovereign powers at least now, which you should have done before supporting it,” he said.

He said the Bill kills independence of not only the Central Information Commissioners but also the Information Commissioners in your states also.

The TRS and YSRC MPs have laid at the feet of the Modi government the liberty, autonomy and sovereignty of the people for no reason, which is totally against the norms and principles of federalism.

He reminded that the Bill would take away the powers of the states to appoint an information Commissioner and would disable them from determining the term and status of the state Information Commissioners.

“What is that you have achieved by this support to this unconstitutional, anti-democratic and anti-federal Bill?” Acharyulu asked.

He alleged that this unconstitutional Bill destroys the independence of Information Commissioners and encroach upon the sovereign rights of states, which you did not mind sacrificing.

Quota for locals: A step in the right direction

Share

The YSRCP government has passed a historic Bill in the Assembly mandating 75% reservation to locals in all industries, including units, factories, joint ventures and projects set up under public-private partnership mode in Andhra Pradesh.

The yellow media and critics have been quick to condemn this move of YS Jagan saying this would lead to shutdown of industrial units and stop flow of industrial investments into the State.

The move is good if skilled people are available but this is not the case in most of the cases.

Merely making rule will not help. You should go deep into the issue.

“It can’t be done just like that,” K. Lakshminarayana, former director, Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) told IANS.

The former IAS officer said an expert committee should have been formed to study the issues like what are skills required by different sectors and why locals are not getting the jobs.

“One month delay would not have made any difference. This is not the way of taking a decision,” said Lakshminarayana, who was also advisor to then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

Judging by the number of investments made in Andhra Pradesh during the tenure of Chandrababu Naidu, one can easily reflect on the kind of advice Lakshminarayana must have given Chandrababu.

Our children, whether they be from Vizag, Vijayawada, Tirupati or Ongole; all of them eventually have to land in Hyderabad for their jobs after their studies. Why? Because we made the mistake of putting all our eggs in one basket and to what effect?

Only to have Hyderabad taken away from us in the name of a false agitation.

Hyderabad in United Andhra Pradesh contributed 56% of the revenue and every citizen of Andhra Pradesh contributed to the development of the city.

After bifurcation, Andhras do not get even 1% revenue share from the city which they have put on the international map (not to forget the millions of Telanganites who were brought out of poverty in the process).

That Telangana is already reeling under a huge debt burden despite getting Hyderabad speaks volumes of their financial acumen but that is another story.

The point is that we do not want a similar situation to occur where our children go elsewhere, work hard and develop the region only to have it grabbed by parasites in the name of self-respect.

Till bifurcation, Andhras believed in the spirit of the Constitution and that an Indian can live and work anywhere. But the bifurcation should be an eye-opener to us.

The rest of the country is not as broad-minded as us. In that case, is it not time to safeguard ourselves from vested interests? Quota for locals will foster the feeling of ‘Andhra Pride’ and unity further.

But what YS Jagan can do is to make changes to the quota proportional to the nature of the industry. For example, IT industry cannot function with this sort of requirement. So, for them, the quota might be pegged at 40%.

For manufacturing, it could be 75% and so on. Quota for locals is good, but it cannot be uniform across all industries.

Yellow media says the investments will not come to Andhra Pradesh with this quota Bill.

First of all, what investments have come to AP? None! So, the situation cannot get any worse, can it?

Take the case of Kia Motors in Anantpur. How many locals are employed in that plant?

And here’s the thing: there are restaurants run by Koreans in the area into which locals are not allowed.

KIA Motors got tremendous tax -benefits and other sops and incentives but the locals do not benefit in any way in terms of employment except for losing their lands at government prices.

Are these the kind of investments we are looking at? What is the point in giving away thousands of acres of land free of cost to multinationals for no tangible return?

At least from now, any company keen on investing in Andhra Pradesh will be forced to provide employment to the locals. It’s the least they can do for all the benefits they are showered with by governments.

Let the Andhras be kings at least in their home State.

What YS Jagan said is absolutely right: “It will lead to greater acceptance of industry by the locals. We are ready to do anything for you (companies). We only want jobs for our children.”

Jagan, KCR wants to maintain ‘distance’ for two months!

Share

Chief Minister of AP YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao are learnt to have decided to maintain distance for at least two months.

This is because they want to take time to wait for the dust to settle down around Godavari water diversion controversy.

Jagan and KCR have already met half a dozen times within a month after YSRCP won Assembly elections with a record majority.

Jagan led a delegation of AP ministers and official to KCR’s Pragathi Bhavan in June to discuss on the resolution of pending bifurcation-relates issues between TS and AP.

In this meeting, KCR proposed to divert Godavari water to Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar projects for the benefit of AP and TS.

Jagan was all praise for KCR who termed him as a ‘generous person’ for coming forward to help AP.

After this meeting, Jagan has been facing severe criticism from various quarters in AP who are accusing Jagan of colluding with KCR for his selfish interests and compromising on the interests of AP.

Jagan and KCR are supposed to meet in July last week to take the proposals of Godavari water diversion forward.

However, reliable sources said both agreed to postpone their next meeting to September as Godavari issue has raised considerable political heat in AP due to TDP leaders strongly resisting it both inside an outside the Assembly.

Godavari issue has been rocking AP Assembly in the ongoing Budget session.

Jagan and KCR feel that by September, the dust will settle down and they can go ahead with their proposals.

So, the next meeting between Jagan and KCR would be held only in September.

Nagarjuna Following The Footsteps of Venkatesh

Share

Almost every movie in Telugu will have the punch dialogues on the villain. But only a few films will actually have the funny lines against the hero. One of the senior most heroes who has always been ready to take those punch lines against him is Victory Venkatesh.

We have already seen the actor doing such a role in ‘Nuvvu Naaku Nacchav’ movie where despite being a hero, there will be so many punch dialogues against him. Recently, another senior hero joined this list and he is none other than Akkineni Nagarjuna. It is known that the actor is all set to come up with his next film ‘Manmadhudu 2’ which is going to be the sequel of blockbuster movie ‘Manmadhudu’. In the teaser and trailer of the film, we can see that Vennela Kishore’s role makes fun of Nagarjuna’s role for being in love with a woman much younger than him. The movie also has so many punch dialogues on female domination and even the age factor.

But the ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ actor took them happily. We can observe that the definition of heroism in a film has been changing over the years and the audience are also getting entertained with this kind of trend.
