Nagarjuna Following The Footsteps of Venkatesh
Almost every movie in Telugu will have the punch dialogues on the villain. But only a few films will actually have the funny lines against the hero. One of the senior most heroes who has always been ready to take those punch lines against him is Victory Venkatesh.
We have already seen the actor doing such a role in ‘Nuvvu Naaku Nacchav’ movie where despite being a hero, there will be so many punch dialogues against him. Recently, another senior hero joined this list and he is none other than Akkineni Nagarjuna. It is known that the actor is all set to come up with his next film ‘Manmadhudu 2’ which is going to be the sequel of blockbuster movie ‘Manmadhudu’. In the teaser and trailer of the film, we can see that Vennela Kishore’s role makes fun of Nagarjuna’s role for being in love with a woman much younger than him. The movie also has so many punch dialogues on female domination and even the age factor.
But the ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ actor took them happily. We can observe that the definition of heroism in a film has been changing over the years and the audience are also getting entertained with this kind of trend.
Not Dear Comrade, Dear Lilly Is An Apt Title!
Director Bharat Kamma narrated ‘Dear Comrade’ subject to Vijay Devarakonda when ‘Pelli Choopulu’ was about to go on floors. The Young Actor offered an assurance that he would do the movie as he liked the subject. Post the release of ‘Arjun Reddy’, The image of Vijay Devarakonda changed completely.
Bharat Kamma approached Vijay Deverakonda with two other subjects that suit his image. Still, Vijay insisted that ‘Dear Comrade’ is the project on which they should be working.
In ‘Dear Comrade’, The story revolves around the character of the Heroine. Female Lead gets more scope to perform than the Male Lead. Inspite of knowing about it, Vijay Devarakonda wanted to do this subject with few minor changes.
Most people who watched ‘Dear Comrade’ Today were of the feeling that ‘Dear Lilly’ could have been an apt title. Such is the importance for Rashmika Mandanna’s character in this movie. She did excel in her career-best role…Lilly will be remembered for a long time.
Pawan Gets Into Action Again!
Strange are the actions of power star-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan. One does not know when he goes into the shell and when he comes out to put up some show in politics, before going back into the mantle.
After the complete decimation in the recent elections, Pawan Kalyan did not come out in public for quite long time.
After a few weeks, he surfaced and started meeting his party leaders and workers. Then, he went to the US to participate in Telugu Association of North America (TANA) meetings and one does not know when he returned to India.
After a brief lull, Pawan is now back in action, of course politically.
On Friday, he reconstituted his party’s politburo, comprising four key leaders – Nadendla Manohar, P Rammohan Rao, Raju Ravi Teja and Arhan Khan, apart from himself.
He also constituted a 11-member political affairs committee headed by Nadendra Manohar.
The other members of the committee are: Thota Chandrasekhar, Konidela Naga Babu, Rapaka Varaprasad (MLA), Kandula Durgesh, Kona Thatha Rao, Mutha Sasidhar, Palavalasa Yashaswini, P Hariprasad, Manukranth Reddy, A Bharat Bhushan and B Nayakar.
Similarly, Pawan also created a one-member disciplinary committee headed by Madasu Gangadharam.
While assigning specific tasks for all these committees, Pawan said he would also take up field tours across the length and breadth of Andhra Pradesh shortly.
“The tour plans are being finalised and will be revealed shortly,” party sources said.
He announced that youth would be given a lot of importance in the party, as the party needed dedicated workers.
“Let us all focus on building up the party at all levels and take up the people’s issues, irrespective of the hurdles that we might have to face in our journey,” Pawan said.
Kamal to rejig party, talks to Prashant Kishor
Chennai: Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasans Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) is in talks with political strategist Prashant Kishor for the party’s Assembly election plans, said party sources.
The MNM wants to expand the party base and had called a meeting of local leaders, sources said, adding “the meeting discussed reorganization and expansion of the party structure so as to reach the people across the state.”
Queried about engaging Kishor, a party leader said it is not clear whether he will work for MNM alone or for another party as well.
The assembly polls in Tamil Nadu are due in 2021.
MNM candidates failed to win any parliamentary seat in the Lok Sabha elections, yet it managed to get a third place in as many as 13 Lok Sabha constituencies, giving the party a hope that it can emerge as an alternative to the two major Dravidian parties — the AIADMK and DMK.
Rs 3,100 cr scam in Polavaram works?
The committee, which submitted its report to the state irrigation department early this week, observed that the previous Telugu Desam Party government had violated all tender norms in the EPC contract system in the Polavaram head works, besides paying excess amounts to contractors in the packages under Polavaram right and left bank canals.
It also found that the TDP government had paid huge amounts as advance payments to the contractors for construction of Polavaram hydel power project even before handing over the land for the same.
The break-up of the additional payments made to the contractors is: Rs 1,559.65 crore in head works, Rs 787.20 crore in hydel power project, Rs 492.94 crore in left canal and Rs 233.98 crore in the right canal.
The committee recommended that the government recover these additional payments from contractors under Revenue Recovery Act and also suggested reverse tendering of the project works to bring down the project cost.
