It’s Official: Evaru Is A Remake Only!

Share

Ever since the teaser of Adivi Sesh starrer Evaru is out, many are wondering if the film is a freemake or remake. But it looks like producer PVP actually bought the rights of the original film to remake it into Telugu version.

Spanish film ‘The Invisible Guest’ that released in 2017, got remade into Hindi as Badla with Amitabh Bachhan and Taapsee. And the same is now got remade into Telugu with Adivi Sesh and Regina in the leads. Like how PVP has earlier acquired the rights of French comedy-drama ‘The Intouchables’ to remake into Telugu as ‘Oopiri’, now he has similar procured the rights of this Spanish crime-thriller.

And then, Adivi Sesh has rewritten some of the characters such that it suits the Telugu nativity. While the Spanish and Hindi version has the character of a criminal lawyer at the centre of the story, here it has a police character taking the reigns. Evaru is hitting cinemas on August 15th.

Bhimavaram fans upset with Pawan’s attitude!

Share

Pawan Kalyan reckoned Bhimavaram as Jana Sena Party’s fort and so he contested from here in the recent elections. Pawan fans and Jana Sena supporters worked day and night for the party. Many of them put their own money for the election campaign as they worship Pawan. During the election campaign, Pawan stayed for couple of days in Bhimavaram which ignited the spirit in party cadre.

However, Pawan later shifted his focus on other constituencies and left the campaign to the cadre. Despite trying too hard, Pawan lost miserably. The local leaders failed in poll management and could not analyze the opposition strategies. Few opined that if Pawan had been in the constituency at least on the polling day, things would have been different now.

The scenario completely changed after the election results. The cadre lacks a leadership and with no other option, they are confining themselves to homes or minding their own business. Now the cadre are worried about the municipal elections which are likely to be held in September. While the concerns of the cadre are yet to be addressed, Pawan has called them to be prepared for the local body polls. This has irked them and the cadre wants to fill the gap of leadership first and then focus on the booth committees that can help in getting better results.

Not just Pawan, many leaders who contested on behalf of Jana Sena are not available to cadre. Few are following Pawan while the rest are going through financial problems as they invested huge during the campaign.

Overall, cadre wants proper direction so that they are ready to strengthen the party in the district.

Jagan’s overconfidence to help TDP?

Share

Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who had been completely beleaguered following the humiliating defeat in the recent assembly elections, is said to regaining his confidence gradually.

Having been in power for 14 years in different terms, Naidu knows in and out of the state administration.

So, he is closely watching how the bureaucracy has started calling shots in the present government headed by YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He reportedly told the party leaders in private conversations that Jagan has been very much overconfident right from the day one of assuming power, as he had got the huge mandate in the elections.

“Jagan has been under the impression that he has got a grip over the administration and every IAS officer has come under his control. There is also little resistance from the party leaders to his diktats at present, as he had brought the party to power singlehandedly. This has given him huge confidence that nobody can raise any head against him,” Naidu analysed.

He told the TDP leaders that this very overconfidence would turn out to be negative to Jagan in the long run and he will continue to make mistake after mistake which nobody would be able to point out.

He cited the examples of Jagan’s hasty decisions with regard to power purchase agreements, demolition of Praja Vedika and proposal to appoint a judicial commission to examine tender process etc.

“They are sure to bounce back on Jagan. But because of his aggressive approach and overconfidence, he will not go slow but will take more such decisions. There have been reports that the IAS officers are already surprised over this hasty decisions,” Naidu told the party leaders, adding that the more Jagan makes the mistakes, the more will be the positive atmosphere for the TDP.

Who Is Behind Gayatri Gupta?

Share

Gayatri Gupta and Swetha Reddy who filed cases on “Bigg Boss” have now moved to New Delhi fighting for their cause.

They had staged dharna at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and also approached the National Human Rights Commission to take action on “Bigg Boss” team. They are also meeting bigwig politicians.

Gayatri Gupta did minor roles in couple films and is not known to have got such access to such big politicians in New Delhi. How did she get access now suddenly? Who is directing her and Swetha Reddy?

Producer and ‘press-note’ activist Ketireddy Jagadeeeswar Reddy is supporting them. But what is his interest in defaming “Bigg Boss” and the Star Maa group? Some bigger forces might be behind him and the budding actresses.

Such doubts are being raised. Even the team Star Maa is suspecting similarly.

Some political forces who are against this group and Nagarjuna must be actively working, they suspect.

Gayatri Gupta has mainly been telling that she feels cheated as she didn’t get chance as contestant after initial promise.

The other girl Swetha Reddy made allegations of indecent talk with her. But the way they are after this reality show and going all places by spending thousands of rupees giving lends credence to the suspicion.

The reality show to be hosted by Nagarjuna will go to air on Sunday, July 21, 2019.

Telangana High Court has put a stay on the cases filed by Gayatri Gupta and Swetha Reddy and ordered the police not to arrest any of the team members until a further hearing.

VIP darshan for ₹10k donation in Tirumala

Share

Tirupathi: The VIP break darshan facility at Tirumala temple, which mostly caters to the high and mighty, will soon be available for common devotees.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) plans to launch a new scheme that will allow common devotees to get the ‘VIP’ privilege.

The temple administration is planning to link the donations offered to the newlyfloated Srivani Trust with VIP break darshan which will bring the common devotees under the ambit of VIP darshan.

The Sri Venkateswara Alaya Nirmanam trust (Srivani trust) was recently floated for preservation and construction of Lord Venkateswara temples across the country.

With the TTD having already introduced a simplified break darshan system, it is now focusing on making the common devotees experience the privilege too.

As per the new scheme, any devotee who donates ₹10,000 to the Srivani Trust would be issued a VIP darshan ticket.

As of now, devotees wishing to avail the facility have to get recommendation letters from influential persons (political leaders, top government officials etc).

The TTD’s joint executive officer in Tirumala has been vested with the discretionary powers to scrutinise the letters and issue VIP darshan tickets to the devotees.

Though VIP break darshan tickets are priced at a modest ₹500 (per ticket), many devotees, despite willing to pay the amount, fail to get the limited tickets as most of them go to influential persons or those with recommendation letters. People also often fall victim to touts by coughing up to ₹₹10,000 for a single ticket.

Taking all these factors into account, TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal is learnt to have designed this new scheme, for which a dedicated quota of VIP darshan tickets would be set aside for devotees donating ₹10,000 to the Srivani Trust.

The move will also help in eliminating the menace of touts and middlemen.

Singhal said the new scheme would be launched soon in line with chief minisiter Jaganmohan Reddy’s commitment to ensure a hassle-free darshan for all devotees visiting Tirumala.

Exclusive: MP Posts Are No More Lucrative!

Share

In the past, it was a dream for leaders of various political parties to get elected as members of Lok Sabha.

There used to be a heavy demand for MP tickets in every party, as it is a matter of prestige for them to become an MP.

What is more, the MP post also used to be considered very lucrative as they had an opportunity to make big money through lobbying at the national level.

Even if an MP got one contract – whether it was a coal mine or an iron ore transport or even a shipping contract or for that matter even licences for a couple of petrol bunks, it would have given him an opportunity to make crores of rupees.

The MPs were frequently seen in the chambers of Union ministers with one work or the other. The central secretariat, north block and south block used to be buzzing with activity with MPs thronging the chambers.

Because of this huge opportunity to make money, party candidates never used to hesitate spending crores of rupees in the elections, both for getting tickets and also to win the seats.

In many parts, the MPs used to bear the campaign expenditure of the MLAs of the assembly segments falling under his parliamentary constituencies.

But the situation has completely changed now, especially after Narendra Modi took over as the Prime Minister of the country.

He has tightened the screws in every ministry and the MPs have virtually no opportunity to do any lobbying.

The MPs can no more lobby for any project or contract from the cabinet ministers, who themselves have no powers. Every decision taken by the ministers should be approved by the PMO.

As a result, the MPs have become just figure heads in Delhi. In fact, there is no more a mad rush for party tickets in the Lok Sabha elections.

In the recent elections in Andhra Pradesh, both the Telugu Desam Party as well as YSR Congress party witnessed huge demand for the MLA tickets, but there were not many takers for the MP seats.

“Both Naidu and Jagan had to struggle a lot to find suitable candidates for the MP tickets in many constituencies. They had to convince their senior leaders to contest the elections,” an analyst pointed out.

A newly-elected MP of YSR Congress party said he is getting bored in Delhi as there is nothing for him to do.

“The Lok Sabha sessions are very boring and we cannot understand anything as most of the MPs are speaking in Hindi. We are not able to get any work done in any ministry as the PM has kept a hawk eye on the cabinet colleagues. I am now wondering why I had spent Rs 50 crore to become an MP, which has no powers at all,” the MP lamented.

WB Dropped Loan Due To Land Scam?

Share

Even as the World Bank on Friday gave a clarification that it had dropped the loan proposal for Amaravati capital city project, the YSR Congress party sought to turn the tables on the previous Telugu Desam Party.

YSRC leaders alleged that the World Bank backed out from lending for the Amaravati project because of alleged irregularities in the project.

YSRC MP V Vijay Sai Reddy said the World Bank wanted to conduct an inquiry into alleged irregularities by the Naidu government in the past.

“There were a lot of complaints about irregularities in the construction of Amaravati; irregularities committed by the previous Naidu government. The World Bank had received numerous complaints on these irregularities. The World Bank had sought permission to conduct an inquiry. Understandably, the Home Ministry was concerned and so was the Andhra Pradesh government, that a foreign agency would conduct an investigation in a sovereign nation like India,” Sai Reddy said.

YSRC chief whip G Srikanth Reddy said the World Bank had received complaints that the previous TDP government had indulged in massive corruption in the land pooling and done a lot of injustice to Dalit farmers and tenant farmers.

It also came to know about the real estate mafia in Amaravati and found fault with Naidu for not implementing the 2013 Land Acquisition Act.

“Naidu had brought a very bad name to Andhra Pradesh at the international level with his illegal land dealings in Amaravati, which resulted in the World Bank opting out of the project,” he said.

The TDP chief, however, said the Jagan government was responsible for rejection of loan by the World Bank.

“The YSRC leaders were behind the complaints lodged by some farmers with the World Bank. Now, no bank will come forward to give loans,” he lamented.
