Decent Opening But Poor Reports For Manmadhudu

Share

Nagarjuna starrer Manmadhudu 2 opened to poor reports everywhere. The film has been getting the thumbs down from fans and filmgoers.

Rahul Ravindran failed to repeat the magic of Manmadhudu and the adult content in the latest film is turning out to be its biggest problem.

However, the film has taken a decent opening at the box office. It has collected around Rs. 4 Crore share worlwide on its day 1. It will need to hold well and make the most of the long weekend.

Anasuya’s Kathanam has gone unnoticed due to poor promotions and Kurukshetram also has failed to impress.

It is a great opportunity for last week’s release Rakshasudu to earn breakeven status.

New releases failing to impress will makes it job easy in the second weekend as it has generated positive word of mouth.

Sampoornesh Babu’s spoof comedy Kobbari Matta released today.

100 cows dead in Vijayawada gaushala

Vijayawada: Over 100 cows died of poisoning in a gaushala on the outskirts of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, police said on Saturday.

The incident occurred late on Friday night after the cows were given their feed at the cow shed run by non-governmental organisation Kothuru Tadepalli.

While 98 cows died hours later, the remaining are battling for life, police said.

Sahu, a cow shed committee member, said the cows started collapsing a couple of hours after they were given the feed.

Officials suspect food poisoning as the cause of the death. Police summoned veterinary doctors to conduct an autopsy on the dead cows.

Differences between the cow shed management is believed to have led to the incident as one group suspects that the feed was poisoned.

Krishna District Collector Mohammed Imtiaz visited the gaushala and ordered a probe. He said the death of a large number of cows was unfortunate.

The cow shed had more than 1,000 cows, most rescued from slaughter houses. Some cows were donated by people.

Police said they were questioning the employees who fed the animals and were also checking CCTV footage to find out if any outsider entered the cow shed before the incident.

As many as 24 cows had died at the cow shed run by the same committee near Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada two years ago. The cows were fed with stale wheat flour that resulted in their falling sick and ultimately their death. After the incident, the committee shifted the cow shed to the city outskirts.

Jagan angry with MP for threatening Kia staff?

Share

At a time when YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is trying hard to overcome the negative campaign against him in the industrial sector by holding diplomats’ meets and investments summits, his party leaders seem to be causing a lot of damage to his image.

The alleged unruly behaviour of inspector-turned-YSRC MP from Hindupur Gorantla Madhav at the launch of Seltos car of Kia Motors at Penukonda in Anantapur district on Thursday is understood to have terribly upset the chief minister.

Jagan reportedly sought an explanation from Madhav for throwing tantrums at the Kia Motors management at the car launch event. He also asked the MP to meet him personally in Amaravati to give an explanation.

Already, there was a negative talk against Jagan for skipping the Kia cars launch event for his own reasons. Now, with the YSRC leader’s rude behaviour further damaged his image.

Madhav shouted at the Kia Motors officials for not inviting him on to the dais.

Pointing his finger at the Kia company official, the MP said: “How dare you ignore me at the event? I will complain to the chief minister. I will see that you bow your head in front of Jagan Mohan Reddy. You seem to be thinking that you are still working under Chandrababu Naidu rule. Wake up.”

He also attacked Kia management not recruiting the local people from Anantapur in big numbers.

“I don’t see many faces from Anantapur. You have to give jobs to locals,” he shouted.

Apparently, the MP didn’t know that the recent act of providing 75% reservation to locals was not there when the Kia motors began their operations in Andhra Pradesh.

Expressing his anguish, Madhav scribbled on the bonnet of the car with a white marker pen: “Car roll out but our young people ruled out here ..sorry,” he wrote and signed on the bonnet of the new car at the ceremony.

Former Telugu Desam Party legislator from Vijayawada (Central) Bonda Umamaheshwar Rao, who had been hinting at quitting the party and joining the YSR Congress party for quite some, has finally agreed to stay back in the TDP.

He is also said to be contemplating joining the YSRC along with his followers.

Bonda, who represents Kapu community, lost to YSRC’s Malladi Vishnu by a small margin in the recent assembly elections.

According to party sources, TDP Vijayawada (Urban) unit president Buddha Venkanna went to the residence of Bonda Uma on Saturday morning on behalf of party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to hold negotiations.

After prolonged discussions, finally Bonda agreed to stay back in the party and said there was no plan to join the YSRC for now.

It is not known what conditions Bonda has placed before Buddha Venkanna for not changing the party.

Bonda has been saying that he has no future in the TDP. Though there were reports that he would join the Bharatiya Janata Party, sources said the YSRC leadership has been bringing pressure on him to join the party.

JD bids good bye to Pawan, to join BJP

Former joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation and retired IPS officer V V Lakshminarayana is all set to bid good bye to Jana Sena Party headed by power star Pawan Kalyan.

Popularly known as JD, Lakshminarayana, who joined the Jana Sena Party just before the general elections, is understood to have conveyed to Pawan Kalyan that he would be quitting the party and decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party shortly.

Along with JD, his close associate Gampala Giridhar will also call it quits from Jana Sena and join the BJP.

While JD contested as Jana Sena candidate from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency, Giridhar contested as party candidate from Visakhapatnam (South) assembly constituency. Both of them lost the elections miserably.

Subsequently, JD and Giridhar have been staying away from the party activities.

In fact, JD’s name did not figure in any of the state-level committees appointed by Pawan recently including the politburo and political affairs committee, though he was considered a very important leader of the party before the elections.

For quite some time, JD has been continuing his social service activities and not involved in any party meetings.

Now, sources said JD has got an invitation from the BJP and he has readily agreed to join the party.

In fact, there was a talk that he would join the BJP much before the last elections since he had connections with Sangh Parivar during his college days. Finally, he returned to his basics!

Decoding ‘Adivi Sesh Domination’ in Taking Credit

Share

Sesh Adivi struggled a lot in the movie industry before he grabbed the crucial role in the movie Panjaa. The success of Panjaa gave him the confidence to step forward and explore more opportunities in the field. Later, his presence in Baahubali has brought a huge recognition for the actor. With Kshanam, Sesh has become a bankable hero in Tollywood with a decent following.

But, one thing that surprises everyone is the fact that no one else, except Sesh, gets the credit and focus whenever a new movie arrives from his side. Be it Kshanam or the movie Goodachari, the people who knew it as Sesh’s film didn’t know about the other key technicians who worked for the project. This has been a complaint by many in the movie industry that Sesh dominates everyone when it comes to taking the credit.

During the promotions of his new movie Evaru, Sesh has given clarity on the same. Apparently, Sesh said that there is no truth in it. He made it clear that everyone gets their recognition and he has nothing to do about it. Sesh told that these are baseless assumptions which hold no truth.

After Evaru release, Sesh will be seen in a project titled Major, produced by Mahesh Babu.

When RGV Was Slapped By His Wife?

Share

It’s no secret that Ram Gopal Varma doesn’t believe in the institution of marriage. In a recent interview, The Filmmaker shared about an incident when he was slapped by his Wife for expressing his views frankly.

Ram Gopal Varma: ‘Because of Marriage, We maintain secrecy when it comes to few matters and let go some things. I am a big fan of Sridevi. When I spoke about Sridevi with My Wife, She took it casually and even passed few jokes. Why because, There used to be a lot of gap between Me and Sridevi. My Wife won’t tolerate if I am in awe of the Woman staying in our adjacent house. After the release of ‘Shiva’, We announced ‘Kshana Kshanam’ and Sridevi spoke about Me in an interview.

That is when My Wife began feeling tensed. While we were shooting for the movie, Sridevi made a phone call to Me at 11 PM. My Wife attended that call as I wasn’t in the house. When I came back, My Wife informed Me about the phone call and issued a warning to Me. I got the feeling she assumed we were having an affair. I felt very happy as I would be the luckiest person if that really happens. Then, I asked My Wife if she could stop Me if her assumption is true by any chance. Questioned her what she gonna do if I make love to her assuming she is Sridevi. Immediately, She offered a tight slap to Me. This happened because of the commitment called marriage’.

Varma feels Marriage guarantees physical intimacy between two people but they can never be real soulmates. He adds, ‘You get possessive about your partner. This is happening because of our marriage system which is just an agreement’.
