The grief and shock gripped her fans, outpouring disbelief and condolences over the unexpected death of the legendary actress.

She was also honoured with Raghupati Venkaiah Award in 2008 for her marvellous contribution to Indian cinemas. The late Mahanati Savitri and Vijaya Nirmala were the only two female directors to direct the late legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan.

Born in Tamil Nadu, Vijaya Nirmala married late Krishna Murthy and has a son with him, Naresh, who is also an actor. Later, on the sets of Sakshi film, directed by Bapu, she fell in love with actor Krishna and married him in the year 1969. As she breathed her last yesterday at Continental hospitals in Gachibowli, her contribution to films have been largely recalled by media and fans, ever since her entry into the industry at the age of seven as a child artist.

Her popular movies in Telugu are Panduranga Mahatyam (debut), Bhookailas, Manchi Kutumbam, Rangula Ratnam, Pandanti Kapuram, Devudu Chesina Manushulu, Alluri Seeta Rama Raju and Buddimantudu. She also acted in 20 Malayalam films and 17 Tamil films and could garner fans from all over the South states. In Malayalam, her iconic film Bhargavu Niayalam(1964) has went on to give her instant stardom, which is a horror drama.

Actors like Jr NTR, Manchu Manoj, producer BA Raju, and Telangana CM KCR has tweeted their heartfelt condolences to the late Vijaya Nirmala. The whole Tollywood industry owns a deep debt of gratitude to Vijaya Nirmala and she is known for being grounded and kind at heart. It will definitely take a while to believe that she is no more. Ours is Construction, Theirs is Destruction

In a sharp counter to Jagan’s government, former Irrigation minister Devineni Uma has countered YS Jagan’s government as ‘Destruction Government’. Stating that Chandrababu’s government was ‘Construction’, he described Jagan’s government as ‘Destruction Government’. “Destruction is what Jagan knows,” said Devineni Uma. He added that Jagan is getting “happiness” by demolishing buildings like Praja Vedika.

>Uma pointed at late YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s house at Banjara Hills Road No 2 when he was in Opposition and Chandrababu Naidu was CM. He said the illegal construction was later regularized when YSR became the CM by his own cabinet. “YSR’s own cabinet took decision to regularize his house at road no. 2 Banjara Hills. While cabinet was taking the decision, YSR went out to make sure he was not there at the cabinet meet. Today, the same property is being used for commercial properties and earning crores of income to Jagan and family. And the same Jagan Mohan Reddy is talking about irregular constructions,” said Uma.

Responding to the corruption allegations by Jagan and his government, Uma gave befitting counter. “When they were in Opposition, they ranted over Polavaram and alleged of corruption. Today, Jagan has been begging engineers and other officials to give him tip off on corruption,” said Uma.

Devineni Uma said time is very powerful and it is going to return. He said neither he nor his party is scared of the false cases, allegations going to impose by Jagan and his government. He also said they’ll fight back. Uma is the first TDP leader to make sharp allegations against Jagan and his government. While TDP wanted to give sometime to Jagan to settle down, YCP’s series of allegations seem to have forced Uma to respond and counter them.

Burra Katha Turns Headache For iSmart Shankar?

Share

iSmart Shankar starring Ram and directed by Puri Jagannadh is about a man with ‘double dhimaak’.

The team has been so confident that the concept of the film will take the audience by surprise. However, a film with similar concept is arriving in theaters a few weeks earlier than iSmart Shankar.

Burra Katha featuring Aadi Sai Kumar also deals with the concept of one man – two brains.

The treatment of both the films might be different, but the concept looks similar. Team iSmart is now worried of their concept getting diluted by Burra Katha.

Interestingly, Burra Katha that was supposed to release on Friday has been delayed because of censor problems.

Will it make it to theaters before iSmart Shankar that is slated for release on July 18?

iSmart Shankar has been looking good to put Puri Jagannadh back in the reckoning and Ram back on track. But Burra Katha turned out to be a headache with its two-brains!

‘I can never do a remake’: Vijay Devarakonda

Share

With Shahid Kapoor doing what looks like an encore of Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy act from the Telugu original, there is a clamour from audiences across India to see what the original did in comparison with the remake.

Suddenly, non-Telugu speaking audiences want to know who Vijay is and what his take is on the obnoxious alcoholic doctor-loverboy’s role that he portrayed with such spectacular success in the 2017 starrer.

Especially now that Shahid Kapoor has done what looks like a carbon copy of Vijay in Kabir Singh.

Says Vijay, “I haven’t seen Kabir Singh yet as I was shooting in France. I came back to Hyderabad just a couple of days ago and have been down with a viral fever since then. But I will catch it soon. I’m most curious to see what my friend and director Sandeep Vanga has done with the original story in the remake.”

Vijay confesses that doing the remake was never an option for him, “I can never do a remake. I wouldn’t know what to do with it. I truly admire actors who do the same story in two or more languages.”

Since Arjun Reddy, Vijay has been a part of such successful films as Geetha Govindam, Nota and Taxiwala. The actor is now looking forward to the release of his next film, Dear Comrade.

Kalki’s Advance Bookings Are Very Dull

Share

Rajasekhar’s Kalki has been making a lot of noise across social media platforms with its intriguing promos. However, the buzz is not translating into collections going by the pre bookings.

Advance bookings on ticketing portals for Kalki are very dull, which means the film will have to rely upon bookings at the counter.

Kalki will have to generate positive word of mouth to register decent footfalls in its opening weekend.

With some notable films lined up for release in July, Kalki should make the most of its first weekend where it is clashing with another low budget film Brochevarevarura.

Thanks to Rajasekhar’s previous film Garuda Vega, the business of Kalki was closed very early for a handsome deal.

Kalki should collect almost double to what Garuda Vega collected to be a safe venture for its buyers. So the film will need a great start to ensure safety of buyers investment.

Kalki is directed by Prashanth Varma who made an impressive first film Awe produced by Nani.

Buzz is that Sunil has already started shooting for a Bollywood movie which stars none other than sex bomb Sunny Leone in the main role.

This is said to be horror comedy. Sunil has been roped in for Tollywood market. However, he will also be appearing in Hindi version as well.

Sunil who is born and brought up in Bhimavaram hardly knows the Hindi language.

There are also rumors that he is interested to play a character based on politician K A Paul in an upcoming movie.

Allu Arjun Decides to Clash with Mahesh

Allu Arjun’s untitled movie in the direction of Trivikram is progressing in Hyderabad. It is moving at a slow pace for a reason.

There is no hurry to release the movie this year as Allu Arjun has specifically told director Trivikram and producers to release the movie for Sankranthi 2020 only.

There were reports that Allu Arjun – Trivikram’s film may plan for December release as “Sye Raa” would be hitting for Pongal 2020 but now “Sye Raa” has locked October 2nd as its release date.

So, Bunny wants to put his movie during Sankranthi season as it is the only period that accommodates two or three big movies.

Team Trivikram is now working with the clarity that it is scheduled for Sankranthi 2020.

Incidentally, Mahesh Babu’s “Sarileru Neekevvaru” is also releasing on the same festival. Another biggie Rajanikanth’s “Darbar” would also be in competition.

Still, Bunny is going ahead with this plan.

Jagan, KCR bonhomie to reach next level!

Share

AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy has handed over AP Secretariat, Assembly and HoD buildings in Hyderabad to Telangana government within a week of becoming CM.

Now it’s the turn of Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to reciprocate.

KCR is planning to withdraw all the cases filed against AP government in courts and tribunals with regard to water sharing disputes in Krishna and Godavari rivers.

KCR and Jagan are expected to meet on June 28. The meeting is expected to happen at KCR’s camp office Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad.

This will be Jagan’s second visit to Pragathi Bhavan and sixth meeting with KCR is less than a month.

In the meeting, both the CMs will discuss on pending bifurcation related issues which could not be resolved due to obstacles created by former CM Chandrababu Naidu.

Both Jagan and KCR now want to maintain ‘cordial relations’ adopt ‘give and take’ method’ and find an amicable solution to all the disputes beween both the states.

Instead of approaching courts and tribunals for justice, both the CMs want to resolve issues through talks and mutual cooperation to achieve mutual benefits for both the states.

Seems, the Junen 28 meeting between Jagan and KCR will take the bonhomie between them to the next level.

One word that comes to mind when we look at Pooja Hegde is Sexy. She is a synonym for sexiness.

Pooja is not only blessed with a beautiful face but also has one of the hottest bodies among current crop of heroines.

No wonder Pooja is being chased by South film industry and Bollywood cinema as well.

She has made debut in Hindi with an unsuccessful Mohenjodaro, but that didn’t stop her from fetching a multiple Nadiadwala deal in B town.

Pooja has the least success rate among her contemporaries, but she is the most sought after actress for all big budget films of Telugu cinema now.

Can Bellamkonda Survive Jagan’s Threat?

Share

Bellamkonda Srinivas has been running through lean phase in his career with a string of flops.

His recently released Sita was a huge disaster and the young lad has pinned all his hopes on the upcoming Rakshasudu.

It is a remake of Tamil hit Ratsasan in which Bellamkonda plays a cop who investigates serial murders.

Bellamkonda was hoping to bounce back with Rakshasudu as it managed to get a solo release on July 18.

But the release of Puri Jagannadh – Ram film iSmart Shankar has been rescheduled to July 18 as they don’t want to release it during the World Cup final weekend.

Now, Bellamkonda either has to take on iSmart Shankar or advance his film’s release by a week.

Rakshasudu cannot afford to postpone from July 18 as Dear Comrade and Saaho are bigger threats.

With iSmart Shankar looking red hot in the trade as well as with its pre release buzz, Rakshasudu has a ominous competitor to deal with.
