The demolition of Praja Vedika has turned into a storm between ruling YSR Congress and opposition TDP. Though the TDP is helpless, YSRCP government went ahead and razed the building. Last night YSRCP and TDP leaders indulged in a verbal war while debating about the illegal constructions on the banks of river Krishna.

It was YSRCP MLA Malladi Vishnu and spokesperson of TDP, Pattabhi who had exchanged heated arguments on the topic and then both the leaders slipped their tongue. But it was YSRCP’s Vishnu who started to threaten the TDP leader. “Yentra Nuvvu Matladedi… Nooru Muyyi..,” said Vishnu to Pattabhi. The TDP leader tried to maintain his calm and also appealed not to slip his tongue on television. The host of the program tried to pacify both the leaders but in vain. However as Vishnu continued his rant, Pattabhi too lost his cool.

Well, this is not appreciated by any. In fact the ruling party leaders should be watchful. Already the news of YSRCP’s attacks on TDP has not gone down well with many and this aggression will not work in politics.

Jagan Puts committee on ‘TDP’s corruption’

AP CM YS Jagan has triggered one more bullet at TDP government. After coming to power, the YSR Congress is continuously making corruption allegations on previous government. Now a cabinet sub-committee is appointed to look into these allegations.

On Wednesday, Jagan held a review meeting on power and petroleum departments. After having a look of all the allocations of electricity done by TDP government, Jagan came to a conclusion that the state treasury lost Rs 2636 crore. He directed the officials to search for methods to recover this amount. There was a huge debate on solar and wind power purchase and Jagan questioned why previous government acquired them at higher rates. He also asked officials to negotiate the rates and if the solar and wind companies don’t come down, Jagan want the agreement to be scrapped off and take legal action against the companies.

Then Jagan announced that on about 30 issues, this cabinet sub-committee will work and the government will take the assistance of ACB, CID, Vigilance and Enforcement departments.

PM Modi Responds On EVM Tampering

Yesterday in Lok Sabha Prime Minister Narendra Modi lashed out at Congress for failing to recognize the non-Gandhi Prime Ministers. Today, Modi responded on the EVM tampering. During the elections, there was a wide debate about EVMs and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu extensively campaigned against use of EVMs in the elections.

Terming it as a new disease, blaming the EVMs has become a new fashion for political parties. ‘In the year 1977, the first discussion on EVM happened and in the 1992 guidelines on EVMs were issued. We were not in power then and in fact it was the Congress that was in government. There were times when BJP had two MPs in Lok Sabha. Today we overcame many hurdles,’ said Modi.

Not just EVMs, the oppositions are against Aadhar, BHIM App, digital India, GST. Why such negativity?,’ questioned Modi. Some leaders say that BJP won the elections and India lost. If Congress wins, many would have claimed India has won. Are Congress and India same? Not at all and electoral process should be respected in a democracy,’ added Modi.

Naidu to build own house in Amaravati?

Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is learnt to have decided at last to construct a permanent house in Amaravati in the next three or four months.

Naidu, who returned to his leased residence at Vundavalli late on Tuesday night, reportedly told his party leaders that YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is acting with vengeance against him and there won’t be any surprise if the government demolishes his present residence.

TDP sources said Naidu was pained at the way Praja Vedika adjacent to his residence was being demolished with a break-neck speed.

However, he cannot do anything since it is a government building and has nothing do with him or his party.

But, he realised that the next target for Jagan is demolition of his residence taken on lease from Lingamaneni Ramesh, an infrastructure group owner.

“May be, the government will issue notices to Ramesh in a day or two. The courts also cannot do anything, since the CRDA itself declared it as an illegal construction,” a party source said.

It is learnt the TDP president has asked his party seniors to look for a house on rent for residential purposes in Vijayawada or somewhere near Amaravati at the earliest, so that he could shift to the new house by July 1.

Interestingly, a TDP leader and a big beneficiary of Naidu’s decision to construct capital at Uddandarayuni Palem, closer to Velagapudi secretariat in Amaravati, offered a piece of land to Naidu for the construction of a permanent residence.

The former chief minister reportedly agreed to the offer and said he would take a decision after inspecting the site. Once it is finalised, he will begin the construction shortly and complete in three or four months.

“Till such time, he will stay in the rented house,” the TDP source said.

YSRC Ministers Still Without Staff!

It has been more than two weeks since YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy constituted his council of ministers.

They took oath of office and secrecy on June 8 and all of them got into their chambers in the Secretariat in the next one week to 10 days. Yet, none of the ministers has got his or her ministerial staff till date.

Reason: the ministers have not been given powers to choose their own personal secretaries and personal assistants, besides officers on special duty.

There were clear instructions from the chief minister’s advisor Ajeya Kallam that nobody should appoint any personal staff without clearance from Jagan.

According to sources, the file pertaining to the appointment of officials in the peshis of deputy chief ministers and other cabinet ministers was still lying with the chief minister’s office. As a result, the ministers are not able to operate from their offices in Secretariat till now.

Though the visitors, MLAs and others have been bringing requests to get works executed by different departments, the ministers have been finding it very difficult to get things done at the peshis, since there was no official staff available to discharge different duties.

“We are hoping that the chief minister will give clearance to the file in a day or two. After that, it will go the General Administration Department which will release the Government Order posting the officials,” an official said.

According to the official, each minister will be given an Officer on Special Duty, a Personal Secretary, Additional Personal Secretary, Personal Assistant, Data Entry Operator and a Public Relations Officer at his or her peshi.

Jagan strictly instructed that all the ministers not to induct any officer who worked in the Peshis of previous government.

Yet, some ministers continued the old staff in the same positions. Some others, who worked as OSDs, PSs, PAs and Media Liaison Officers (PROs) have been requesting the Ministers for their reappointment in the Peshis.

Jagan Orders Probe Into Naidu’s Corrupt Deals!

In a sensational decision, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday ordered investigation into various agreements signed by the previous Chandrababu Naidu government involving massive corruption.

Reviewing the performance of the energy department at his Tadepalli camp office, Jagan said his government would probe into as many as 30 different deals of corruption indulged in by the previous government.

He said a cabinet sub-committee would be constituted into the corrupt practices of the Naidu government.

“We shall take the support of Anti-Corruption Bureau, Crime Investigation Department (CID) and Vigilance and Enforcement Department into the investigation,” Jagan said.

The chief minister made an extensive review of the power purchase agreements signed by the Naidu government with various power producers, especially solar and wind power producers.

He wondered why the previous government had to purchase power at such a high rates, compared to the rates quoted in competitive bidding.

“The excess payments have resulted in a huge loss of Rs 2,636 crore to the state exchequer,” Jagan said and ordered that the authorities should recover the excess payments from the power companies.

The chief minister also constituted a separate official committee to re-negotiate with the solar and wind power producing companies.

“If they do not agree to reduce the cost of power, their power purchase agreements should be cancelled and fresh bids should be called,” he said.

Since there is a massive swindling of public money in these solar and wind power purchase agreements, Jagan directed that legal action should be taken against the then higher officials of the energy department, the minister concerned and the former chief minister.

Pawan Supports Jagan Decision!

For a change, actor-turned-politician and Jana Sena Party founder-president Pawan Kalyan came in support of YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

On Wednesday, Pawan issued a statement supporting the decision of Jagan to demolish Praja Vedika, the massive conference hall constructed adjacent to the residence of Telugu Desam Party president and leader of opposition N Chandrababu Naidu on the banks of Krishna river at Vundavalli in Amaravati.

“It is a correct decision. If the Praja Vedika is an unauthorised and illegal construction, it has to be demolished. The buildings which had been constructed in violation of rules and environmental norms should be removed,” he said.

Pawan, however, said the government should demolish all the illegal constructions on the banks of Krishna river that came up without permission.

“Only then, people will have faith on the government,” he said.

Meanwhile, CPI (M) leader B V Raghavulu also demanded that all the illegal constructions on the banks of Krishna river should be razed to the ground immediately.

“Jagan cannot remain content with the demolition of Praja Vedika. If he does not take similar action against the other illegal constructions, his sincerity and integrity will be questioned,” he said.

‘Wanted to commit suicide after loss to India’

It happens so quick. You lose a game; you lose another game; it’s a World Cup; media scrutiny; public expectation, and then you almost go into sort of survival mode. We’ve all been there,” he added.

Ten days ago, on June 16, Pakistan had to face an embarrassing 89-run loss against arch-rivals India. It is also learned that Indians never lost to Pakistanis in all the editions of the World Cups. Post the match, the whole Pakistan team faced criticism and trolls on various aspects, leaving the country’s cricket fans on fire. The violent reactions have been thrown at the team as the long rivalry on the border gets easily translated to the on-field and this would have certainly left the coach Arthur into deep absorption.

Doctor files case against Kabir Singh

After roaring high with triumph, Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor has now fallen into big trouble. Dr Pradeep Gadge, who is a diabetologist from Mumbai has written to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting asking them to stop screenings of the film, Kabir Singh.

Dr Gadge stated that the film portrays doctor in a negative and shocking way. He said he was upset watching the film as the actor, who played the role of a surgeon, bullies, abuse women and is temperamental and ill-mannered. Dr.Gadge went on to slam that the director failed by showing how Kabir Singh does not respect his seniors or juniors. He also raised a question of how the censor board approved the film’s disturbing content.

“I understand that this film is a work of fiction. But, the film reached extreme levels of portraying us in a distorted image of reality,” he added. Pradeep Gadge also pleaded that the Indian Medical Association and other doctors in India should voice their opinions against the film as doctors are already suffering from the pseudo-bad image in the society and the film has only added a pinch to it, making it worse.

Even in Telugu, 2017 Arjun Reddy did face some backlash from the critics and a small group of audience, but the film went on to become a blockbuster and a cult classic. However, the Hindi version has been receiving severe backlash by calling it misogyny and toxic storyline.

Pawan and Naga Babu : All Is Not Well?

If speculations are anything to go by, all is not well between mega brothers Pawan Kalyan and Naga Babu. Pawan and Naga Babu said to had developed some differences after the duo had contested and lost from Bhimavaram Assembly and Narsapuram Lok Sabha constituencies respectively.

Talk is that Pawan wanted Naga Babu to completely dedicate himself to politics and people like how he had quit cinema. But Naga Babu is unwilling to quit Jabardasth and he wants to continue the show which had given him good fame and money. Pawan is said to be not happy with Naga Babu’s decision as Pawan is of the opinion that Naga Babu may not dedicate his time to party and people if he gets busy with Jabardasth show and other movies.

Saaho Teaser Effect: Sye Raa Makers Turn Cautious

One of the two big budgeted movies that is going to hit Telugu cinemas after Saaho is none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Saaho. As the two films are going to hit screens in a couple of months gap, surely there will be some sort of comparison. And the makers have already identified it, we hear.

While Saaho teaser got enormous appreciation from all quarters, the only thing that is worrying many is the quality of visual effects. Especially for that scene where Prabhas is seen flexing his muscles in a desert, the clouding up desert sand looked like an artificial thing. And that has set bells ringing for Sye Raa too.

Apparently, Chiranjeevi wants his director Surender Reddy to make sure that there are no such visual effects glitches in Sye Raa. Being a periodic and historical film, poor VFX will mar the visual experience in theatres, which is now a concern of the megastar. We hear that some scenes in Sye Raa are being rendered in foreign countries such that their final output will be of top-notch quality.

While Saaho is set for August 15th release, Sye Raa is likely to come on October 2nd.

Directed by Prasad Tatineni, this Hindi horror movie is going to feature Brahmi and Sunny Leone as relatives they say, while the latest one to join them from Tollywood is Sunil. We hear that already the three along with another sexy actress Mandana Karimi are right now shooting at a Haveli in Uttar Pradesh.

Most interesting thing is that this horror comedy is titled Koka Kola and expected to see Sunil in his most hilarious ever role. But the two comedians are unlikely to dub for the movie as their Hindi is not that fluent. However, the makers are quite happy with the kind of acting prowess they are bringing to the film.

Though Brahmi tried his luck in Bollywood couple of decades ago, it didn’t work for him, and we have to see what Sunil will taste there.

Oh, Baby! Will You Go Into Masses?

There are almost 10 days left for the release of Samantha’s another solo flick “Oh Baby”. Probably after ‘U Turn’, this is the next venture where the actress wants to test her luck as a crowd puller.

For that to happen, the masses have to show a lot of enthusiasm for the movie. Is that happening anyway? While Samantha is promoting the film big time by attending interviews at various TV channels and international web media, that’s not enough for the movie to penetrate into masses.

The main thing she has to do is hold a couple of pre-release events in big cities like Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vizag and Tirupathi. Only such events would bring lots of crowds from the mass and lots of attention to the film. Also, the addition of other actors like Lakshmi, Rajendra Prasad and Rao Ramesh will create more impact on the movie rather Samantha and Nandini Reddy attending all the promotions.

As there is no hero to promote the film with Naga Shourya injured, Samantha should rope in other cast. Else, it is tough to penetrate into masses easily.
