Venkaiah to be projected as PM?
Like film industry, politics in India is all about gossip and speculation. And political reporting is all about kite flying – writing gossip based on imagination or hearsay. Sometimes, it is also about planting stories, as the situation demands.
One of the speculations doing rounds in the last few hours is that the Bharatiya Janata Party might push the candidature of Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu for the Prime Minister post, in the event of the party failing to get adequate numbers in the Lok Sabha elections, results of which will be declared on May 23.
According to this speculative report, Narendra Modi would opt out of the race, if the BJP fails to secure more than 200 seats.
Though the names of other top leaders line Nitin Gadkari or Arun Jaitely or even Rajnath Singh might be considered, the Sangh is expected to suggest the name of Venkaiah Naidu in order to secure the support of MPs from Andhra and Telangana.
Secondly, Venkaiah is soft-spoken and can command respect from many allies, unlike Narendra Modi whom many of the NDA partners themselves do not like.
Well, these are all speculations as mentioned in the beginning. The possibility is very unlikely especially in the wake of the exit polls conducted by various agencies that predicted landslide victory for the BJP-led NDA!
Boyapati Planning Multi-Starrer!
There is no way than taking a backseat for dashing director Boyapati Sreenu after his Vinaya Vidheya Rama with Ram Charan has ended up as a mega disaster. That is the reason why his film with Balayya got delayed and the Nandamuri hero has taken up KS Ravikumar’s project.
And then, Boyapati tried luck with young heroes like Akhil and RX100 fame Karthikeya but nothing materialised. Though he thought of waiting for Balakrishna again, latest reports have that he is actually getting ready to make a multi-starrer film with two young heroes. Some other writer is said to be giving a terrific story to this director.
Though there are no signals about this from Boyapati camp, the industry is abuzz that two young and happening heroes are likely to star in this film. What is important here is that the director has to make sure that the film will have a good story and content, unlike his recent duds.
Anushka Opens up on Prabhas Saaho !
Yesterday when Prabhas announced on his Instagram that he would give a surprise to his fans today, everyone waited impatiently for the delighted news. Today, the dream man Prabhas has shared the first poster of his film Saaho and believe us, it is absolutely captivating and catchy. The actor looked stylish with his ultra cool sunglasses.
The poster also had a release date on it and the look has been on viral mode all over the internet. In the midst of fans reactions, Anushka Shetty too couldn’t stay calm and expressed her views on her Instagram. She wrote, “Each glimpse into their world keeps me wondering what next and it just takes the bar higher each time SAAHOOOOO so looking forward to 15th August all the very best to Prabhas, UV Creations & Sujeeth … each and everyone from the cast and each and every technician, excited.”
Prabhas, sporting a leather jacket, sunglasses and with intense eyes, even Anushka, just like us, spoke her heart out on the poster. The first poster has also surpassed our expectations.
Terrific Dialogue Writer To Direct Prabhas
For his terrific lines in films like Kanche and Gautamiputra Satakarni, dialogue writer Sai Madhav Burra has emerged as one of those sensational writers who could make masses whistle and claps in the theatres. And it looks like this talented writer is all set for a big directorial debut too.
From a long time, actually, Burra is trying to get into the director’s shoes and make his presence felt like a Koratala Siva. Though he has earlier narrated stories to many heroes, reports are now coming that he has actually convinced Baahubali star Prabhas with a story. And the film might take off very soon if reports are true.
Producer Dil Raju is said to have set this deal and he will be producing this flick if all goes well. Currently, Prabhas is busy with a patchwork of Saaho and then he will be wrapping his movie with Radhakrishna very soon. After these two films, the hunk hero is yet to sign any new one.
Already Prabhas has the distinction of making a writer like Koratala Siva into a director with Mirchi movie. We have to see if he repeats that feat again.
Mahesh26 Launch On Krishna’s Birthday?
Anil Ravipudi was preparing for a simple thriller as his next after F2. But the movie success landed him in front of Mahesh and the actor accepted his story.
Director is said to be still in shock and awe of how this happened but he is trying to come up with a different script and fast to complete as well for the hero, it seems.
The team are looking to launch the film on 31st May, on Krishna’s birthday with the senior actor as the chief guest it seems.
Mahesh normally doesn’t attend his own film Muhurtham or opening ceremonies, hence him being in different countries for vacation won’t be a problem for the team.
After he returns in June, Anil will give him final script narration and if Mahesh doesn’t suggest too many changes, movie could start in July and go for faster completion for a possible Sankranthi release, it seems.
Rashmika Mandanna is said to be playing the lady lead in this film. She also has Nithiin’s next, Allu Arjun-Sukumar’s film in her kitty.
Has Rakul Preet Singh Found Her First Hit In Bollywood?
Ajay Devgn somehow managed to turn the tide of luck in his favour as his films even though get negative reviews and criticised by audiences, they are able to attract good crowds to the theatres.He had a hit like this Total Dhaamal which was criticised as unfunny film but the movie made close to 150 crores Nett at the box office.
The same is repeating with De De Pyaar De too. The movie has Rakul and Tabu as the leading ladies but it did slack for being too metro-centric and unnecessarily trying to go for one-liners than good emotional scenes.
Still, metro audiences due to lack of good alternatives are going for this film and it collected close to 44 crores Nett in 4 days.
First Monday has been good for the film with a decent 6 crore Nett. If Ajay Devgn’s films cross 80 crores Nett, most often than not, they are considered hits.
Akiv Ali and Luv Rangan could be hoping for such a turn out and Rakul Preet Singh would be praying that the movie goes past the 100 crore mark, as it will give her a chance to push herself better in Bollywood.
Will she get her desire or will the movie end up close to 70-80 crores mark after second weekend? Let’s wait and see!
Can they do better than Maharshi next time?
Mahesh Babu has a habit of giving second film and possible third film to makers who deliver good hit with him the first time.He did the same with Gunasekhar, who gave him Okkadu and he did same with Puri Jagannath who gave him Pokiri, he did same with Koratala Siva, who gave him Srimanthudu and he gave Trivikram Srinivas too second film after Athadu.
Box Office wise, Gunasekhar disappointed Mahesh the most with Arjun and Sainikudu. Trivikram failed at theatrical level with Khaleja but the movie has a cult following on TV.Koratala Siva gave him two of his biggest blockbusters in Srimanthudu and Bharat Ane Nenu. Puri Jagannath gave Businessman which is his last pure mass film.
He did give Srinu Vaitla second film after Dookudu but the director started his descent from top with Aagadu. After Maharshi, he is looking to do another film with Vamshi Paidpally, it seems.He asked him to bring a script for him and even agreed to do it after two or three films, it seems.
He has Anil Ravipudi’s next, a film with Koratala Siva, a film with Trivikram Srinivas and a film with SS Rajamouli from long time as his desirable projects.All three or one of them could be Mahesh27 and Vamshi might have to wait another 2 or 3 years for his turn.
Trying to replicate Dookudu, Srinu Vaitla lost his touch, Gunasekhar tried hard to replicate Okkadu and Siva cleverly changed character while following Srimanthudu and Puri Jagannagth made Businessman half baked but screenplay does try to go in the same mould like Pokiri.
Only, Trivikram could try something entirely different with Khaleja. Vamshi made Maharshi which replicated many movies and if he gets another chance, we hope he follows Trivikram Srinivas and give a different film than that tries to be exactly like many others, that is, Maharshi!
Are Press Meet Scenes Getting Too Routine?
We normally see directors following soms or the other successful trend. Not many can afford to write similar scenes like Rangasthalam as the movie, was more dependent on execution than scenes.In the same year, Bharat Ane Nenu also became a big hit and the movie had an impactful press meet scene that we can easily say that saved film from being too Flat in second hour.
Now, most of the directors are looking to include at least one press meet scene in their film.Maharshi had almost 8 press meet scenes in the entire length of the film, and to a point that those scenes dragged the film.Then, Nani’s Jersey ended with a book release scene which can be counted as press meet scene but the director cleverly did not use it for the sake of it.
In Chitralahari, ABCD also we see press meets and some seem useless too. For everything, press won’t be running around the famous people.In any case, ABCD tried to introduce a thread with Vennela Kishore which did not sit into the film well, as a satire on media. It is okay to follow trend but Press Meet scenes seems to be losing the context and impact!

Nagarjuna and Samantha are having a blast while shooting for ‘Manmadhudu 2’. Sharing a lovely working still from the sets of the romantic entertainer, Tollywood King wrote: ‘It was an absolute delight shooting with Kodala Pilla’.
Much to the joy of Fans, Nag promised to share much more pictures from the shooting of ‘Manmadhudu 2’ in the coming days.
‘Manmadhudu 2’ Casting is really interesting. At least, Three Top Heroines have been part of this crazy project. While Rakul Preet Singh is the female lead, Samantha and Keerthi Suresh are playing pivotal roles.
So far, Director Rahul Ravindran wrapped up 70 percent of the shoot. Positive Vibe on the sets kept raising the expectations on the sequel.
