Who is fearing defeat? Modi or Naidu?

Share

In order to cover up his own tension, Naidu has been trying to divert the people’s attention to the national politics.

The ongoing general elections to Lok Sabha have become as crucial to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the assembly elections to Naidu. Both the leaders are facing a rough weather in the battle field.

But Naidu told the party leaders on Friday that Modi was scared of facing a defeat in the elections. He said Modi had been indulging in low-grade politics only because of fear of defeat in these general elections.

Naidu said all the highly spoken initiatives of Modi including digital India, make in India, Gujarat model of development and others had been proven failed concepts.

Instead of explaining about what the BJP government did in the last five years to the nation, Modi had been criticising Rajiv Gandhi, who died twenty five years back.

He said that he started fight against Modi not for selfish reasons but for benefit of five crore population of Andhra Pradesh.

Well, people have taken a decision on Naidu in AP and also on Modi in India. Let us watch out who will win the battle.

KCR waits, Stalin isn’t bothered

Share

Telangana CM KCR who embarked his south states tour for Federal Front has received unexpected twists. As part of it, the TRS supremo first met Kerala counterpart Piranayi Vijayan with a prior appointment and discussed about national politics for nearly ninety minutes. With partial positive things, KCR landed in Tamil Nadu but his plans are not going like how he intended them to be. DMK chief Stalin is yet to confirm his appointment and with no other option, KCR is waiting silently.

With the slogan of non-BJP and non-Congress front, KCR had met Odisha CM Naveen Patniak, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and others before the announcement of elections. He also discussed his ideas. He went on record to say that he will be once again touring states after the polls to gather the support for Federal Front. As part of it, he is visiting states which are done with the voting process and that’s how he started with south states. TRS party sources have indicated that KCR will meet Stalin on May 13th.

With Stalin busy with election campaign, he did not give an appointment and is also not sure whether he will allot time or not. On one hand KCR is waiting for Stalin appointment and in this gap, he is filling it with visiting the famous temples. On the first day of his TN visit, KCR paid homage to former President Abdul Kalam and had a look of the Kalam museum. On the second day, the TRS chief went to Rameshwaram, Dhanushkodi, Rama Sethu and Panchamukhi Hanuman temples. KCR was accompanied by his wife, son KTR, MP Santosh, grandson Himanshu and others.

But why is KCR so desperate to meet Stalin in spite of the DMK chief being super busy. This has become a topic of discussion in the political circles. Political experts are even surprised by KCR’s patience to get Stalin’s appointment.

Something is brewing…!

Top 5 Box Office: Mixed Talk Doesn’t Matter For Stars

Share

What is Star Power? To simply put things into perspective, star power is nothing but the ability to mint huge numbers at the box office despite the fact that a particular film got mixed to below-average with benefit show itself.

After Maharshi’s release other day, many are looking at the opening day collections of the film in awe and the film’s Telugu states collection stood at No.5 position in the charts. We have Baahubali 2 (AP&T First Day Share 42.87 Cr), Aravinda Sametha (26.6 Cr), Agnyaathavaasi (Rs 26.36 Cr), Vinaya Vidheya Rama (26.03 Cr) and Maharshi 24.18 Cr in the Top 5 list when it comes to first day shares. All these films are indicative of one thing.

Except for Baahubali 2, all other films in that list either got average talk or disaster talk on the first day first show itself. While Baahubali 2 got blockbuster talk, Agnyaathavasi and Vinaya Vidheya Rama got disaster talk, while Aravinda Sametha and Maharshi got average talk. Irrespective of that, the stars of those films have pulled huge crowds on the first day and made those movies score records.

A simple equation is that, if this star power gets combined with great content then we see superior collections at the box office.

Film Budget 1000 Crores, Ticket Rate Rs 1000?

Share

Other day when ticket rate hike happened for Maharshi movie, one of the kind explanation that came from the film’s producer is that exhibitors have decided to hike the rate because they feel that huge budgets are involved in the movie. That’s the reason whole Andhra and Telangana saw the film tickets being sold at 200 rupees, and a surcharge of 30 extra if you buy online.

Generally when huge budgets are involved and if the producers want to reap benefits in the first week itself, then all the screens available in every nook and corner of Telugu states should be filled with the same movie. Rather that, one wonders why ticket price is hiked. And tomorrow if someone comes up with 1000 crores movie, will they get permission to hike the ticket price to 1000 rupees by presenting similar reason?

Also for films that don’t even like a fully baked product, the Telugu industry got accustomed to saying that they have spent huge crores or so. Is this a kind of ploy to trick distributors into buying the film at high prices? And those distributors are in turn leeching it from the common man. Maybe consumers should react strongly on these aspects such that these unwarranted hikes don’t burn their pockets.

Guess the feeling of an average cinema lover who watches a film with 230 rupees ticket and 20 rupees parking fee only to find in theatres that he’s watching a super flop.

Teja Is Back To His Famous Adult Touch, But..

Share

At the end of the trailer of ‘Sita’ movie featuring Kajal Agarwal in the lead, villain Sonu Sood says, ‘Vachi Mancham ekku sita’. And this is an indication that director Teja is back to this ‘adult touch’ in his film though recently he delivered a stunner with Nene Raju Nene Mantri without such adult punches.

The films like Jayam, Nijam, Nuvvu Nenu, Neeku Naaku Dash Dash have this touch of extramarital affairs and somewhat ‘boothu’ like dialogues. Some villain or a vamp lady in the movie speaks these adulterated dialogues in Teja’s movies with quite an ease. Except for Gopichand’s adulterous villainy in Jayam, nothing has worked out for Teja.

And now, it looks like he is introducing another Jayam Gopi Chand like a character in the form of Sonu Sood. Earlier these types of dialogues haven’t faced flak, but now that there are lots of media houses and many activists doing an everyday job of moral policing. In this scenario, it will be tough for Teja to escape rigorous criticism.

On the flip side, dabbling with the concept of Ramayanam in an adulterous way is not going good with the hardcore lovers of that holy book.

Sakshi and TV9 fought on road

Share

It is well now that media houses Sakshi and TV9 are at loggerheads. Taking this advantage Sakshi TV gave a full coverage of yesterday’s sensational episode which is allegations against TV9 CEO Ravi Prakash.

Sakshi reporter and cameraman reached TV9 office and started their live streaming from there. However, followers of Ravi Prakash who noticed this, objected Sakshi’s reporting and at one moment, they asked Sakshi reporter to leave the place. Ignoring this, Sakshi men continued their live reporting. The situation turned tense in few minutes as Ravi Prakash followers tried to snatch the camera and pushed the reporter. Ravi Prakash men even threatened Sakshi’s reporter and said Jagan’s media has no right.

But as the situation was running out of hand, other media men stepped into the scene. They tried to pacify both Ravi Prakash followers and Sakshi reporter. Looks like Sakshi was thoroughly satisfied with TV9 being in bad books.

Pawan Kalyan will be in Nandyal tomorrow

Share

Post the assembly and Lok Sabha elections, Pawan Kalyan completely went into hiding. On certain issues, he released a press statement and confined himself to home. The other day a picture of Pawan surfaced on the social media. He looked lean but kept the long beard look intact.

Finally is going to come out and Pawan Kalyan will be in Nandyal tomorrow.

The Jana Sena chief will meet the family members of SPY Reddy. Pawan will also pay homage to the deceased MP. SPY Reddy died at a corporate hospital in Hyderabad on April 30th. He contested as Jana Sena MP candidate from Nandyal. In the mid of election campaign, Reddy fell sick and later was shifted to Hyderabad for better medication.

Due to age-related ailments, he breathed his last after being nearly four weeks in hospital.

‘Saw my vote gone to BJP’: NCP Chief

Share

Casting aspersions on faulty and malfunctioning of electronic voting machines (EVMs) in polls, NCP chief Sharad Pawar claimed that he had himself seen during a presentation that a vote cast for his party went to the BJP on the machine. His statements come at a time when several parties across the country have been reporting mass manipulation of EVMs to the Election Commission.

Though he did not claim that all EVMs were manipulated, he said: “I am also concerned about the machine. In Hyderabad and Gujarat, some people kept an EVM before me and asked me to press a button. I pressed the button against ‘watch’ which is our party (NCP’s) symbol and the vote got cast in favour of lotus (BJP) . I saw it happening myself,” he told mediapersons.

What began as a claim in the first phase of elections during Andhra Pradesh and Telangana voting where malfunctioning and manipulation of EVMs was reported, has widely been seen in other states too. Interestingly, most of these claims of manipulated EVMs came from non-BJP ruled states.

Recently, the Supreme Court struck down the Opposition Parties’ demand to verify at least 25% VVPAT slips with EVMs as against the random matching the EC had suggested at 5 polling booths per assembly. Earlier the Opposition parties demanded at least 50% verification.

Nearly 21 opposition parties had approached the Supreme Court seeking a review of its April 8 order. But, the Supreme Court has stuck to its April 8th order on random matching of VVPAT slips with EVMs.

Puri’s Poor Track Record Haunts iSmart Shankar

Share

Puri Jagannadh has pinned high hopes on iSmart Shankar to revive his career.Even the buzz on the film from insiders is highly positive. But that is not ensuring good business deals for iSmart Shankar.

The makers are quoting Rs. 15 crore for India theatrical rights, but the buyers are willing to pay just Rs. 12 crore, which is too low for the combination of Ram and Puri.

Buyers are not ready to risk after seeing how Puri’s recent films performed.

Also Ram has been inconsistent at the box office. There are many misses than hits for him. Perhaps an attractive teaser could push the business forward. iSmart team is currently working on it.

The film is likely to be released in late July or early August.

Ravi Prakash Team Shocks Senior Journalist!

Share

When V Ravi Prakash was ruling the roost in TV9 channel as its chief executive officer and chairman, he faced several allegations of intimidating and blackmailing his rivals and critics.

While Ravi Prakash always used to preach the people that they would question the injustice and pull up the people concerned, he never tolerated anybody who questioned his autocratic behavior.

A team of his close confidants used to jump into action immediately to create troubles for those who write any negative stories against Ravi Prakash or upload any such videos on YouTube, till they delete these videos from online platforms.

Many people were virtually coerced to remove such articles and videos under threat or blackmailing.

The other day, senior journalist and popular columnist Telakapalli Ravi uploaded a video over the goings on in TV9 channel, the hue and cry raised by actor Shivaji over the transfer of channel management etc.

The very next morning, he received a notice from Ravi Prakash team accusing him of violating the Copy Right Act.

Naturally, it terribly hurt Ravi as there was nothing offensive in the report and as a senior journalist, he had the right to comment on any political and business developments. But he could not do anything but to remove the video.

It is not just Ravi, but many others had to succumb to pressure tactics of Ravi Prakash. Now, the situation has changed.

Ravi Prakash is feeling tremors under his feet and his status in the society has become questionable. Entire media is now gunning for his head. After all, every dog has its day!

Megastar Chiru’s Phone Call About Maharshi

Share

“Yes, first half and second half have different backdrops, but what average audiences think about the film is what matters in the end,” says Vamsi Paidipally, who claimed that Maharshi is a super duper blockbuster. Speaking at the success meet, he stated that distributors are adding extra shows of the film as audiences are asking for it.

“Today morning I’m getting a call from an unknown number and the moment I heard the voice opposite side is Chiranjeevi sir’s. His call gave me goosebumps and his five-minute talk about the film gave me the most memorable moments of my life. He said Vamsi save my number, and that is a high point of our conversation” said Vamsi Paidipally.

“Reviews are important, as they will merit out next films. Few reviews said that Maharshi is brilliant, few said it should be better. I take all the positive and negative reviews in stride” he added.

“We are neglecting farmers and the intention of this film is bring attention to that. Then we dealt with a hero who got inspired by his father to succeed at any cost and who later realises that this is not the correct form of success. These different types of layers have worked out well” adds Vamsi Paidipally.
