At a time when everyone is talking about the 150 crores pre-release business of Maharshi, producer Dil Raju has today hosted a press meet where he wants to share about the film and other experiences. And when he wrapped those meets at his Sagar Society Office, there came the shocker.

While Dil Raju might have got accustomed to this already, as this happened many times earlier, sleuths from the Income Tax department have raided the producer’s Sagar Society office a short while ago. With the film hitting cinemas tomorrow, many wonder what made IT people touch Dil Raju today.

Reportedly the offices of PVP and Ashwini Dutt are also likely to get raided if sources are to be believed as all these producers have jointly carved out Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi.

There is this widespread feeling that Mahesh is coming up with another similar film in the lines of Srimanthudu, Bharat Anu Nenu as his “Maharshi” is also having that social message theme. But the star hero explained how they have come up with a different film.

“Srimanthudu is the story of a billionaire adopting a rich guy. Bharat Anu Nenu is about an accidental politician who strives for the accountabilityin public domain. But Maharshi is the story of how an ordinary middle-class guy became CEO of a USA company, and how comes back to his roots to find out what true success is all about. So there is a vast difference between all these movies” says Mahesh, as he explained that Maharshi made him closer to the farming community.

He explained that for the first time he has done certain things himself, like planting the saplings, ploughing the field and literally getting into the land to exactly do how our farmers do it. With the star hero giving more clues that the film deals with farmers and their plight, even fans are elated because such social message movies are rare from star heroes.

Delivering original content through internet-based streaming apps, which is more engaging than the films and TV channels, streaming giants like Netflix and Amazon have already taken Indian audiences for a new ride. And recently the likes of Hotstar, Zee5 and others like AltBalaji are also entertaining them in a big way.

Reports are now coming up that ace producer Allu Aravind will become the competitor of these biggies as Geetha Arts is chalking a plan to come up with their own OTT streaming services. Partnering with Nimmagadda Prasad and MyHome’s Jupalli Rameshwara Rao, already this mega producer is said to have racked up more than 150+ crores fund to launch this new app.

Though the competition will not be of equal size for sure, Aravind is planning that he will acquire some leading Telugu movies to make sure that their streaming service will be as exciting as others. Also, all the Geetha Arts productions might directly head to this service only. And then, Arvind might produce some web series and other stuff for this app.

Reports have that the ground level things are set for this new venture, while some sort of research is going on further to find out about the software backing, servers and other stuff. They are said to have locked the business model however and content acquisition might happen soon.

These are the days where some TV anchors are behaving like those ‘flattery’ agents appointed during the times of kings. None other than Superstar Mahesh is said to have got hurt with such acts of a noted anchor.

While interviewing Mahesh Babu, #BigBoss fame anchor Syamala has praised the star for his colour. Giving a reference to the actor’s agriculture act in Maharshi, where he’s seen ploughing the land with his pants folded below the knees, Syamala stated that Mahesh’s legs are looking quite rosy and attractive. This is a regressive thought for sure because if someone says the same thing about a heroine’s body parts, it would have become a controversy by now.

Though Mahesh got little irked when the question was posed, he answered that with dignity and elan. But later, he’s said to have blasted his team and also the anchor for putting up such silly questions. Apparently, the superstar asked the anchor and her team to prepare an interesting questionnaire than this ‘bhajana’.

Not just Syamala, but many anchors need to think twice about their silly praising when it comes to talking to star heroes and heroines.

AP Minister Kidari To Resign

Andhra Pradesh’s youngest cabinet minister Kidari Sravan, son of Kidari Sarveswara Rao, who was gunned down by Maoists in Visakhapatnam district, was inducted into the state Cabinet six months ago. However, he is neither a member of Legislative Assembly nor Council. On May 10th, he will cease to be minister as he could not get elected either as an MLA or MLC.

According to Article 164(4) of the Constitution, a person can become a minister only if he or she is a member of the Legislative Assembly or the Council. A person cannot continue as a Cabinet minister for more than six months, if he or she is not a member of either of the houses. Since Sravan could not contest for Araku in the last six months as there was no bypoll and since there were no more vacancies to make him an MLC, he will cease to be a minister 13 days before the election results.

According to sources, after Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan was informed about this, he ordered an inquiry into this and found out that he cannot allow Sravan to continue based on the Constitutional provisions. It is learnt that the Governor has also informed the Chief Minister about this. Going by this information, the State Cabinet could take this decision on May 10th when it is meeting.

However, Sravan has created a record of sorts in the history of AP by counting to serve as a minister without being an MLA or MLC. Another person who holds a similar record from united Andhra Pradesh was Nandamuri Harikrishna, son of late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, who was inducted into Chandrababu’s Cabinet in 1995 but failed to get nominated as an MLC or re-elected as an MLA and had to resign.

Of course, the producer of Disco Raja has announced that the second schedule of the film’s shooting will be kick started post the results of general elections get declared. But this Mass Raja starrer has another interesting lockout, if our sources are to be believed.

Director VI Anand is known for finding some interesting phenomenons for his films and somehow such ideas are getting clashed these days. Last time when he has come up with Okka Kshanam movie, the concept of Parallel Life is lifted from a Korean film, and the same film was remade by Anil Sunkara with another director and stars back then. While the controversy got resolved then, now Raviteja is worried that his film has a similar issue.

According to the grapevine, Samantha’s Oh Baby story is said to be quite similar to that of Raviteja’s Disco Raja as both deal with an old person getting magically transformed into a 20-year-old and dealing some issues. While Oh Baby is an official remake of Korean film Miss Granny, it looks like VI Anand’s film has an inspired crime comedy theme attached to it, says a source.

Reports have that Raviteja wants to wait till Oh Baby release, to find out if there are any major scene clashes, such that he could help VI Anand carve a different film for him. That’s why Disco Raja team wants to wait for Samantha’s showdown and all other proceedings are slowed down for the same.

Many Tollywood biggies weren’t able get ticket price hike in Telangana although AP government is always in favor of it.

Even the big heads from Telugu Cinema couldn’t get favors from Telangana government in spite of their best efforts.

But Maharshi got the permission to hike ticket prices across Telangana. Why? What is the secret behind it?

It is learnt that director Vamshi Paidipally is the reason behind it. He is a close friend of KTR and has very good relation with KCR and his family.

Therefore, KCR govt. has given permission for ticket hike and also additional shows for Maharshi in its initial days. This is going to give major boost to Maharshi openings.

Dil Raju is predicting at least 25 percent more collections due to the ticket hike and extra shows. Is this the start of new trend in Telangana nor is it exclusive to Maharshi?

KCR forced to accept Rahul as PM!

At state-level, TRS chief and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao is on a mission to wipe out Congress from Telangana by encouraging defection of Congress MLAs and MLCs into TRS.

But at national-level, KCR is forced to support Congress and support Rahul as next Prime Minister, after Lok Sabha results on May 23.

KCR is trying to forge a Federal Front comprising of regional parties and Left parties to prevent Congress and BJP led coalitions from coming to power at the Centre.

But the feedback KCR has been getting from most of the regional parties and Left parties is that any Front without the involvement of Congress cannot come to power at the Centre.

With this, KCR is learnt to have come to the terms and accept the reality.

But KCR cannot accept this publicly because Congress is the main rival of TRS in Telangana.

To avoid this, KCR has come up with a new proposal of having a “Prime Minister from South India”.

If one analyses the KCR’s new proposal thoroughly, it shows how clever KCR is as a politician.

KCR wants to get closer to regional parties of Southern states and also convince regional parties of other states and also Congress and Left parties by floating this proposal.

KCR has now come up with a new theory of projecting Rahul Gandhi as South India leader on the ground that Rahul contested from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat from Southern state of Kerala.

If Rahul wins Wayanad seat and becomes PM, then he can be claimed as PM from South India.

KCR’s logic may sound strange for many but in the case of KCR nothing can be ruled out.
