Centre Announces SCO Railway Zone To AP

After delaying for 4 years 9 months, the Centre has finally announced a Special Railway Zone to Visakhapatnam. Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has made a formal announcement today. The Special Railway Zone has been named as the South Coastal Railway Zone (SCOR). SCOR zone will be formed with Vijayawada, Guntur and Guntakal divisions. Goyal stated that the ministry would soon complete the formalities pertaining to the formation of the SCOR.

Chalasani Srinivas of Andhra Medhavula Vedika, has welcomed the decision and claimed that this is the result of the fight of AP people. He added that AP people would continue their fight for justice and their rightful demand of the Special Category Status. He said several other promises of the Centre are still due including Steel Plant for Kadapa, others.

Meanwhile, more details are yet to come from the Centre on the SCOR zone to Vizag. Ruling TDP also stated that the Centre’s announcement comes only after a lot of fight, demand from the people of AP.

Don’t Politicise Armed Forces’ Sacrifice: 21 Parties Blast BJP

In a joint statement, the Grand Opposition of parties said, “the meeting of 21 parties expresses their deep anguish over the blatant politicisation of the sacrifices made by our armed forces by leaders of the ruling party. National security must transcend narrow political considerations.” The leaders observed that the Prime Minister has, regrettably, not convened an all party meeting as per the established practice in our Democracy.

The leaders expressed concern on the emerging security situation in the country. Post the statement from the MEA regarding targeting of our military installations and loss of one fighter aircraft, the leaders condemned the “Pakistani misadventure and expressed their deep concern for the safety of the missing IAF pilot,” who is in custody of Pakistan Army.

After Pakistan claimed that it has an IAF pilot in their custody, the demand to bring back the missing pilot grew on social media. #Abhinandan, #SayNoToWar, and #BringBackAbhinandan are currently the top three trends in India on Twitter. A video of the missing pilot is also trending on social media. “There is only one pilot under Pakistan Army’s custody. Wing Commander Abhinandan is being treated as per norms of military ethics,” tweeted DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor.

“I’m sorry to hear that one of our brave IAF pilots is missing. I hope he will return home soon, unharmed. We stand by our armed forces in these difficult times,” tweeted Rahul Gandhi, after giving out the joint statement.

Jagan’s New House: A Palace In Amaravati

With just over 45 days left for state elections, YSR Congress President Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy has now moved closer to the state’s capital of Amaravati, into his house at Tadepalli in Guntur. This move, the party believes, will project Jagan as someone who will be more accessible to the people and his party members.

The YSRCP Chief moved into his palatial palace constructed over two acres, indicating a shift in his political base. He also inaugurated the YSR Congress’ party office, which is right next to his residence. The house-warming ceremony took place amid religious prayers and chants along with his family members and key party leaders.

Jagan, who was operating from Hyderabad, was severely criticised by TDP leaders for still living in Telangana and only being a “visitor” to AP. In contrast, AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu moved to Amaravati in 2015, following tensions between the two states and proving that he will work from the state and has nothing to do with Hyderabad.

Media drags Renu Desai into politics!

It was a mere coincidence that Renu Desai, ex-actress and ex-wife of power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, was touring Kurnool district when the latter was also on his political tour in the same district on Tuesday.

Pawan Kalyan was in Kurnool as part of his political mission in Rayalaseema, conducting road shows, campaigning for his party and interacting with farmers and students.

Almost at the same time, Renu Desai was also touring villages, interviewing farmers in distress and families of those farmers who had committed suicides due to debts in Mantralayam area.

This led to the speculation that Renu Desai is actively involved in public life and may be, she is evincing keen interest in entering politics. But, Renu was on a different mission.

She is making a film based on farmers’ issues and her interviews with farmers are part of her programme.

However, what led to the speculation about her possible entry into politics is that Renu was doing the interviews on behalf of Sakshi television channel promoted by YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

When people see her holding Sakshi channel’s microphone, it gives a suspicion that she is working for YSRC.

And within no time, the social media is abuzz with speculation that Renu Desai is joining YSRC soon and would campaign for the party in the coming elections, if not contesting the elections as an MLA or an MP.

“May be, YSRC is roping Renu Desai into the campaigning to neutralize the impact of Pawan Kalyan. Since Jagan has raised the issue of Pawan’s use-and-throw of women in his life, Renu might stand as an example of this issue in the elections,” an analyst said.

Naidu Doesn’t Hide Envy Towards Jagan!

As the elections are fast approaching, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu appears to be growing more and more frustrated with the euphoria witnessed in the opposition camp.

It has become a habit for Naidu to make wild allegations against his rival YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for whatever the latter does – whether he goes to London to see his daughter or his meeting with Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president K T Rama Rao.

On Wednesday, Naidu could not even tolerate house-warming by Jagan into his new residence-cum-office at Tadepalli in Guntur district.

During his routine teleconference with his party functionaries, the TDP chief described Jagan’s house as yet another “palace.”

He alleged that Jagan would not survive without having palaces to live everywhere.

“He has so many palaces: One at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad and another at Pulivendula. At Bengaluru, he has another huge palace and now, he has constructed another one at Tadepalli,” Naidu said.

The chief minister accused Jagan of not entering Amaravati till the construction of his Tadepalli mansion.

“Since the palace was not ready, he remained in Hyderabad. Only after the Tadepalli palace is completed, he has come here,” Naidu said, adding YSRC was not a party of the poor but of palaces.

Such comments do not augur well for a leader of chief minister’s stature. People will naturally question as to what Naidu would say about his palatial house in Jubilee Hills and the present one at Vundavalli.

At least Jagan has spent his own money on his palaces. But Naidu spent the public money on his Jubilee Hills house and also his Vundavalli premises.

He also spent public money on staying in a star hotel in Hyderabad till the Jubilee Hills house was done.

Ticket Is What Matters, Not Loyalty

The politics has come a long way in India, especially in Andhra Pradesh. Gone are the days when leaders used to be associated with a political party because of their ideologies. And they remained loyal to the party till their life time.

Now, there is no ideological base nor is there any loyalty factor for a political leader to be associated with a political party.

Except in case of the Left parties and to some extent in the Bharatiya Janata Party, political leaders do not have any permanent affinity with any party.

All that matters is party ticket or position. The leaders are ready to join any party which offers them good position or party to contest.

And there is no guarantee that even those who win the elections on behalf of one party will remain with it till the end. If the party does not come to power, they are ready to join the rival party that comes to power.

Take the case of Panyam MLA Gouru Charita and her husband Gouru Venkat Reddy. They had been associated with former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, who used to treat them as his own family members. After YSR’s death, his son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy gave the MLA ticket to Charitha on YSR Congress party ticket and she won it.

But now, with changed political equations, Jagan wants to replace her with another senior leader Rambhupal Reddy. Instead, he offered an MLC seat to her.

If loyalty is the basis for politics, she would have agreed for that. But what she wants is the MLA seat. So, she is not hesitating to join the rival TDP against which she had been fighting all along.

So is the case with leaders like Avanti Srinivas and P Ravindra Babu, who became MPs on the TDP ticket. After realising that they are not going to get the tickets this time, they quickly shifted their loyalties to YSRC.

The bottom line is that what matters in politics is power and position and not loyalty!

Why TV Channel Targetted Him?

He happens to be one of those ‘Sudden Stars’ as a reality show made him an overnight star for all the good and bad. And then, he has formed fan associations and done many ‘promotional’ activities for his own craze. But all that is happening by the shadow of social media only.

And recently few members of this fan group have come out open, accusing that the star is actually misusing the funds given to him. Surprisingly all this hungama is being aired only on one particular news channel. That makes real sense of what is truly happening, as rumors have that this channel is upset with the actor’s moves.

For an event that is being held by this channel, actually, this actor was asked to host the show but he is said to have demanded a huge sum as remuneration. Upset with his attitude, the channel focused on the growing dissent in his army and that lead to a series of debate programs that punctured the actor’s image balloon.

At the same time, a senior journalist from this channel is said to be dead against this actor, since that reality show days. That added more masala to the fiasco.

Kalyanram’s upcoming film ‘118’ is scheduled for release on March 1st. The actor needs to score a solid hit to be back in business. Meanwhile, Kalyanram has been holding discussions with several young directors for his future projects.

According to the ongoing buzz in the tinsel town, Kalyanram has recently okayed a project to be directed by popular filmmaker Sriwass. Writer Lakshmi Bhupala is providing the story for this film. More details about the film’s producer and other lead cast will be revealed along with the official announcement very soon.

Incidentally, Sriwass had directed Kalyanram’s uncle Balakrishna’s 99th film ‘Dictator’. Sriwass too is looking to bounce back to his success streak, as his last two movies ‘Dictator’ and ‘Saakshyam’ ended up as major flops at the box office. We will have to wait and see what the director has in store for Kalyanram.

NTR Disaster Hits TDP’s Sentiment?

The disaster result of NTR : Mahanayakudu and NTR : Kathanayakudu are indeed worrying Chandrababu Naidu and TDP. No doubt, the result of a film need not worry a strong political party with its deep-rooted cadre and the party that is in power. But there’s more to the story. The result of NTR biopic is signalling the mood, sentiment of majority of people against TDP.

Unlike 2014 where Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu’s Legend was a blockbuster and it was believed then that the film had helped to an extent for TDP’s return to power. That is the reason why TDP had been closely observing NTR biopic ever since it went to floors.

Cut to the present, 2019 seems to be a big let down to the TDP as the NTR biopic has been outrightly rejected by audiences. This is what worrying Naidu to the core. Naidu is fearing that the sentiment of people is not in favour of TDP. The film’s result also indicates that entire Mega Family, Mega fans and fans of YCP have totally avoided watching the film. Naidu is fearing that this could even translate into votes and percentages.

If one may consider 2014 results, the difference between YSRCP and TDP-BJP-Pawan Kalyan combine is only meager 2 percent of votes. Now that BJP and Pawan Kalyan have distanced from TDP, TDP is battling a solo battle. In this backdrop, the disaster result of NTR Biopic is adding up to the fears of TDP and Chandrababu.

Not just Naidu, even many of TDP leaders, party candidates are worried over the result of NTR biopic. Now, TDP is of the opinion that Mahanayakudu and Kathanayakudu have done more damage instead of helping the party. Bringing up the topic of NTR now is also aiding opponents YCP to highlight Naidu’s “Vennupotu” to legendary NTR. Of course, RGV’s Lakshmi’s NTR is another threat looming large for TDP & Chandrababu.

India Confirms Pilot Missing, Pak Claims He’s In Their Custody

The heart-breaking 46-second video is now viral which shows an Indian IAF officer under Pakistan custody. The video says, “I am Wing Commander Abhinandan, I am an IAF officer. My service No is 27 981”.

The pilot is seen blindfolded with blood on his face and says he is Abhinandan Varthaman. This video has been released by the Pakistan Army and the spokesperson also showed the documents and items of the arrested pilot.

Pakistan claimed that they have shot two Indian fighter aircraft down inside Pakistan airspace and arrested two pilots. Few minutes ago, India has officially confirmed that one pilot has went missing.

“India had informed about counter terrorism (CT) action it took yesterday (Tuesday) against a training camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Pakistan based on credible evidence that JeM intended to launch more attacks. Against this Counter Terrorism Action, Pakistan has responded this morning by using its Air Force to target military installations on the Indian side. Due to our high state of readiness and alertness, Pakistan’s attempts were foiled successfully,” MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said.

“The Pakistan Air Force was detected and the Indian Air Force responded instantly. In that aerial engagement, one Pakistan Air Force fighter aircraft was shot down by a MiG 21 Bison of the Indian Air Force. The Pakistani aircraft was seen by ground forces falling from the sky on the Pakistan side. In this engagement, we have unfortunately lost one MiG 21. The pilot is missing in action. Pakistan has claimed that he is in their custody. We are ascertaining the facts,” the MEA spokesperson added.

 

Mahesh To Produce Sesh’s ‘Major’

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s production house G Mahesh Babu Entertainment (GMB) is partnering with leading production house and distribution studio, Sony Pictures International for Hindi-Telugu bilingual.

This film will feature Adivi Sesh in the lead role while Sashi Kiran Tikka of ‘Goodachari’ fame will direct the movie which is titled ‘Major.’

It is inspired by the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an NSG commando who saved many lives during the 26/11 terror attack at Taj hotel in Mumbai.

Speaking on it Namrata Mahesh, MD of GMB said, “Mahesh and I have envisioned to bring stories that resonate globally. We are excited to tell an unique story and original one about a national hero’s life.”

The film will be co-produced by Adivi Entertainment and Sharath Chandra and Anurag Reddy’s ‘A+S Movies’ banner.

‘Major’ starts shooting in summer of 2019 and release is planned in summer of 2020.

Buzz: Is Lakshmi Rai Pregnant?

Raai Laxmi aka Lakshmi Rai is reportedly fuming over reports which claim that she is pregnant. She has expressed anguish over people who are spreading such speculations.

A few rumours were making rounds that the Kanchana actress is pregnant.

When she was asked to comment upon the same, Raai Laxmi said, “Few people have made it their job to talk nonsense and spread the rumors about me. I did have multiple love affairs and break-ups but that doesn’t mean you can interpret me as you wish.”

She also added that someone has started spreading fake news after seeing her eat raw mangoes. Laxmi warned that she will take the issue to court if such things don’t stop.

The glamorous actress claims that she never hid her relationship although she had never spoken about in public.
