Saaho Heroine Turns down Rajamouli’s Offer?

Shraddha Kapoor who is making debut in Tollywood opposite Prabhas in “Saaho” is in much demand.

Though she is good friends with Prabhas, Shraddha reportedly turned down an offer from Prabhas’s guru S S Rajamouli.

According to Bollywood media, Rajamouli offered a role to Shraddha Kapoor for his upcoming film “RRR” to star opposite NTR Jr.

Since Alia Bhatt has been cast opposite Ram Charan in the film and the foreign actress Daisy walked out of the movie for family reasons, Rajamouli reportedly changed his decision not to cast another foreign actress and approached Shraddha Kapoor.

As per Bollywood media, she has turned down the mega project as she is tired of being part of big films that take many months’ time to get finished.

She has been shooting for “Saaho” for the past two years and doesn’t want to do a similar big-budgeted movie like “RRR” that is being mounted on large scale with estimated budget of Rs 350 Cr.

“RRR” has NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn as the principal cast. DVV Danayya is producing this movie.

With exactly one month left for the elections, punters in Andhra Pradesh are now running huge bets on who will win with a great majority between YSR Congress President Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy or TDP Chief and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. With huge money already running on the hottest of who will be the Chief Minister, punters are also keen on majority.

In Pulivendula alone, the stakes are very high with punters expecting Jagan to win a bumper majority over Chandrababu in Kuppam. According to the rumours doing rounds in political circles, YS Jagan is said to have invited some astrologers to his Lotus Pond residence other day. And they have suggested that May 25th is the best date for him to take charge as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Also, supporters of Jagan have gone a step further and even finalised a ground in Vijayawada, where their leader will hold the public swearing-in ceremony.

Going by this, one would say that Jagan is already practising the ‘Jagan Ane Nenu’ pledge too. Over the past four days, the Government of Telangana and the Broad of Intermediate Education in the state has been drawing the ire of parents and students after 20 students ended their lives duo to lousy evaluation by the Board. Not only has this issue rocked the state, but also has exposed the lack of accountability from the government. Both students and parents have come out in huge numbers and have been protesting against the faulty evaluation process which has ‘failed’ several academically well-performing students in the state.

The goof-up by the government and the Board has been so bad that those who passed with top grades in intermediate 1st year have failed in the 2nd year exams. The firm which has been awarded the contract has been blamed by the government for such faulty result processing. However, the lack of concrete response from the Government of Telangana has been annoying parents further, who are worried about their children’s careers. With this issue creating a ruckus, it has also become a topic of discussion on social media.

After TRS Working President’s response to this, asking students and parents to not panic and apply for revaluation, social media erupted in anger over his tweet. Many netizens have been asking KTR why such mistakes and errors are being committed in the first place, when students are confident of their marks. Many of them also pointed out to KTR about why the Chief Minister or the government has been quiet about the whole episode.

Additionally, media too has not highlighted this issue and so have other political parties, except for the Congress. Leaders from Congress have been demanding the sacking of Education Minister Jagadishwar Reddy who has been lackadaisical and been blaming the Board, without taking any responsibility. Unfortunately, even students have come out and vented their emotions against the government for being so careless about their future. This whole episode also explains the dire state of lack of well-trained evaluators or teachers, experienced in the subjects.

While the government has behaved in an irresponsible manner in the whole episode, it highlights how it has been trying to cover up the entire episode, without taking any action or giving hope to students and parents who are expecting action from it.

Maharshi Pre-Release Event on May Day

After a long time, Mahesh Babu is holding his movie event in an outdoor place. The pre-release event of ‘Maharshi’ will be held at People’s Plaza at Necklace Road in Hyderabad.

The event will be conducted on May day (1st May). A special set will be erected and the venue will be readied to accommodated for thousands of Mahesh Babu’s fans.

Since it is silver jubilee movie (25th movie) for Mahesh Babu, the makers have decided to hold the event in big way and allow large number of fans to the event.

Naidu sensing revolt in TDP after polls?

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be mentally prepared to face the defeat in the recently held assembly elections in the state, results of which would be declared on May 23.

This was the observation made by YSR Congress party general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.

“The way Naidu has been continuously blaming the EVMs and Election Commission clearly shows that he is preparing a ground to absolve him from the impending defeat in the elections,” he said.

Reddy expressed view that Naidu was also apprehensive of a massive revolt against him from his own party ranks after the election results. His frequent tours to neighbouring states was only to hoodwink the party rank and file that he was still strong.

“He is desperately trying to keep the flock together by raising false hope among the party leaders and cadre that the TDP was winning,” he said.

The YSRC leader pointed out that on one hand, Naidu had been telling at the top of his voice that 30 per cent of the EVMs were faulty or not functioning and on the other, he had been putting up a brave face and telling that his party is going to sweep the elections.

“The contradiction only shows that he wants to prepare his cadre and show them a reason for the rejection of his party by the electorate despite all the tricks played by him. His propaganda that the YSRC had tampered with the EVMs only showed the mismatch of the expectations and the end result,” he said.

Naidu had started this exercise immediately after the electioneering was over and continued to do so and even his close aides are shying away from him at this hour, Reddy said.

The movie that collected $911k gross in its opening weekend has added another 43k dollars on Monday.At the latest count, the film grossed more than than $50k on Tuesday taking its total gross to $1 million.

The emotional drama has crossed one- million dollars mark in just five days. It is sixth $1 million movie for Nani after “Eega”, “Bhale Bhale Magadivoy”, “MCA”, “Ninnu Kori” and “Nenu Local”.

“Bhale Bhale Magadivoy” that collected $1.43 million in its lifetime run is Nani’s career best blockbuster and it is expected that “Jersey” would cross this figure since it will have another two-weeks smooth run with no major competition.

Nani won rave reviews for his performance in this sports drama. Several celebrities too had showered praise on Nani.

Akkineni Fans Losing Hopes On Akhil?

Akkineni Akhil was labelled as a superstar even before making his debut. Fans believed that he is star material and will become a big star unlike his brother Naga Chaitanya.

Akkineni heroes always used to be at the top in Telugu film industry. Akkineni Nageswara Rao was number 2 in his era and Akkineni Nagarjuna was one among the famous quartet of nineties.

But the third generation of Akkineni heroes failed to reach the top while Tarak, Mahesh and Charan were able to become superstars.

Chay has been restricted to a mid range hero even after being in the industry for a decade. So fans hoped that Akhil could become the next big thing in Tollywood. Sadly, he couldn’t score a hit until now. He is still unsuccessful after doing three films.

While Akhil is struggling to find a hit, Naga Chaitanya bounced back with Majili. He scored career best hit with Majili to solidify his place among the mid range table toppers.

If Akhil fails to live up to expectations with his next film then fans would shift their loyalties to Chaitanya. It will become extremely difficult for Akhil to bounce back if he cannot find success with his upcoming film.
