Retired Babus Condemn Chandrababu!

The unsavoury comments made by Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu against chief secretary L V Subrahmanyam incurred the wrath of retired IAS officers.

As many as 13 retired IAS officers including I V Subba Rao, S Bhale Rao, K V Rao, T S Appa Rao, A K Parida, S K Sinha, Sutheertha Bhattacharya, Vidya Sagar, M G Gopal, C V S K Sarma, Vinod K Agarwal, J C Mohanty and Dr Vijaya Kumar wrote a strongly-worded letter to Naidu for making derogatory comments against Subrahmanyam.

It may be mentioned that Naidu had called Subrahmanyam a covert of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and a co-accused in Jagan’s case. He also questioned Subrahmanyam’s appointment as CS and his meeting with DGP R P Thakur.

The retired officers said Subrahmanyam was known as an outstanding officer and the high court had quashed all the cases against him. They wondered how he could be called an accused.

“We request the chief minister to avoid such comments in future and withdraw them at once and apologise,” they demanded.

They also found fault with Naidu for going to the office of Chief Electoral Officer and talking to him in strong words.

“It is also not in the best traditions of administration and will send a message of intimidation. We request the chief minister to desist from such actions,” they said in the letter.

IT Raids on Lord Shiva Temple, CM Furious

In the native village of JD(S) supreme HD Deve Gowda, Haradanapalli, the Income Tax officials have conducted raids at Lord Shiva temple on Friday. Politically, these raids have invited huge criticism from JDS leaders. From past few days, IT raids took place at residences of Deve Gowda’s close aides and JDS-Congress leaders are strongly opposing it.

According to wife of temple’s priest, 2 IT officials have initially performed searches at the priest’s residence and later entered temple premises. In the end, the Income Tax authorities made an attempt to enter the sanctum sanctorum (Garba Gudi), by the priest’s family denied them from entering that place. ‘Finally, they left this place empty handed,’ said Neelamma, wife of temple priest. She revealed to media that IT officials have questioned them whether Deve Gowda’s money is in their residence.

Reacting to the episode, Deve Gowda’s son and Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy made some harsh comments on Bharatiya Janata Party. ‘The IT officials haven’t spared the Hindu temples as well. BJP claims that it is a Hindu party and today, it has motivated IT officials to raid our temple. They have left the temple empty-handed and their action of desecrating temple will totally eradicate BJP,’ attacked CM of Karnataka. He has alleged, in his election rally, that BJP is trying to harrass opposition through IT raids and added ‘previously, raids were on houses and offices but it is now extended to temples.’ Both Congress and JD(S) are demanding an action against the IT officials who involved in the raids at Lord Shiva temple.

In one of his recent interviews to a TV channel, HD Kumaraswamy said that Narendra Modi is not going to come back to power.

While the show ‘Extra Jabardasth’ saw Sekhar Master and senior actress Meena as the judges, for the upcoming ‘Jabardasth’ we have Jani Master coming up in place of Sekhar. A source from the Jabardasth show shared that both Sekhar and Jani are only passing clouds, and Meena is also a guest for a few days. For the next couple of weeks, these three will be seen in the seat of the judge, but later Nagababu and Roja will join their team back.

Questioning Shah Rukh, Big B tweeted, you have produced the movie (Badla), we worked for it and did promotions without expecting anything. Now you want a party from us? To this SRK replied that without you (Big B) there is no ‘Badla’ and because of you the film scored a hit. So it is you who have to throw a party.

Kabir Singh’s Teaser Made Prabhas call Shahid

The teaser of Kabir Singh, a remake of superhit Telugu flick Arjun Reddy, has been released worldwide earlier this week. The promo has been garnered with unimaginably positive reviews and appreciation. In fact, South superhero Prabhas too reacted after watching Kabir Singh’s marvellous trailer.

Starring Shahid Kapoor, the film is generating high expectations in both North and South audiences. Prabhas has reportedly told Shahid that the film looked ‘better than the original’. In the original version, Arjun Reddy (Telugu), Vijay Deverakonda was seen doing the lead role and went on to become an overnight heartthrob.

Famous Hairstylist Aalim Hakim told that he connected Prabhas and Shahid on a call after the former was impressed with the teaser of the film. Aalim said that he was in Hyderabad shooting for Saaho with Prabhas just watched the teaser of Kabir Singh had launched online.

The South actor, after watching the teaser, expressed his love towards Shahid’s exceptional acting. “Seeing Prabhas’ reaction to the promo, I called up Shahid and handed him the phone. Prabhas appreciated the actor and said that Kabir Singh looks even better than the original. Both of them chatted for a good seven-odd minutes,” he added.

After showing the people of Andhra Pradesh about the development and progress under Telugu Desam government through his narrative, film actor Sivaji released a new video on the Election Commission’s incapability of conducting polls in the state and the clashes that followed. He also criticised the BJP for conspiring with the YSR Congress party to ensure that AP remains on the boil during polls.

In the video, he said: “Finally, elections have ended in Andhra Pradesh amidst clashes, violence and deaths. It at least ended peacefully because of people’s unity and they turning up to vote in large numbers. Now, after this, BJP has begun a new drama in the name of PARC, which is its mouthpiece. According to PARC’s predictions, YSR Congress will win 18 seats and TRS will win 14 seats while YSRCP will win with a good majority of 129 assembly seats.”

“Interestingly, the BJP is making Andhra Pradesh puppet by making it part of their game where it strongly believes it will come back to power. Antha cinema ledhu (BJP is dreaming)…People of AP are pro-government. Let us understand…why would women come out in huge numbers and stay till midnight at the polling booths for their turn to vote if Chandrababu was such a crook like Jagan claims? Second, why would they put the future of their kids in the hands of Jagan who is convicted in serious financial crimes?,” he asked through his video, which is a message to the people of AP.

Not stopping at that, he said: “BJP also helped YSRCP release those videos of Prashant Kishor wishing him “Be the best CM of Andhra.” Funnily, they are saying that Chandrababu Naidu is losing that’s why he incited violence. Wow! That is incredible belief. But, remember that people’s mandate will be out on May 23rd and the government will be formed with a bumper majority. Everyone should relax until then,” he signed off.

Pawan Kalyan donates Rs 1.32 Cr to ‘Feed The Hungry’

For the last two months or so Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan had no time for other stuff except for politics. He campaigned all over Andhra despite getting hit by sun stroke. As the polling completed, Pawan is now relaxing and taking time for other activities.

On Friday, the Jana Sena chief visited Dashavatara Venkateswara Swamy temple in Pedakakani mandal of Guntur district. In his visit, Pawan took part in ‘Annadanam’ program and offered food to the devotees. Later he made a donation of Rs 1.32 crore to the temple contributing to ‘Free Food Distribution’ to poor.

Pawan personally handed over the cheque of above mentioned amount to the temple management. And about his health condition, Pawan is recovering from the sun stroke.

Chandrababu Declares War on Election Commission

Taking up the war against Election Commission to New Delhi, Chandrababu Naidu has accused the EC of being “biased”. He alleged that the EC turned elections have been turned into “farce” by the EC. Naidu reiterated his demand to count the VVPAT slips on the counting day. He explained the things that have taken place in Andhra Pradesh during the polls. He said he is ready to go to any extent in his struggle to save democracy. He said Opposition parties would join his fight against the EC.

Briefing the media at Delhi, Naidu has recounted the events that took place in AP ever since the election code came into force. Naidu found fault with the transfer of top officials without proper verification on the allegations made by Opposition YSRCP. Naidu said the transfer of SPs and even the transfer of Chief Secretary has affect on the investigation of the ongoing cases as well as the administration respectively.

Chandrababu alleged that 35 per cent of the EVMs malfunctioned and it suspicious and raising doubts. Naidu took strong exception to Deputy Election Commissioner Umesh Sinha calling the EVM malfunctioning a small issue and said at one stage 4,600 EVMs were not functioning. Naidu said that EVMs have caused great inconvenience to people particularly women and elderly people who had waited in hot son in queues. He said the Election Commission failed to address the issues related to EVMs on time. Naidu alleged that several people had returned without voting due to the delay in the polling. He blamed opposition YSRCP for the violence that marred elections in AP.

Naidu also questioned the EC about the qualification and credibility of technicians it recruited to repair the EVMs. “Who are these people? How were they recruited. What is the guarantee that these people are not doing any manipulation in the EVMs,” he asked.

Chandrababu said TDP is filing a review petition in the Supreme Court for counting of at least 25% of the VVPAT slips. Naidu also questioned the EC why it failed to give to the state police the IP addresses of those who tried to delete 7 lakh votes under a conspiracy and alleged that the poll panel shielded the criminals.

Sai Dharam Tej’s previous films might have failed at the Box Office, but that hasn’t affected the openings of his latest release Chitralahari. Thanks to teaming up with director Kishore Tirumala and the festive season, Chitralahari has got good openings. With the election season ended and summer holidays began, families are visiting cinemas in large numbers and this has become huge advantage for Chitralahari.

Trade is hopeful of a possible break-even by Sunday and enter into profit zone from Monday. It is buzzed that the figures of Day 2 are higher than that of Day 1 and this is an interesting development. The comedy elements of Vennela Kishore in the second half are getting good response from crowds. Despite mixed reviews, overall, the film is said to be delivering content feeling to movie goers.

Big Jolt to BJP in Goa

The BJP government in Goa received a shocker as its ally Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) has announced that it is withdrawing support to the saffron party both in Lok Sabha and assembly elections.

MGP took this decision as BJP encouraged the former party’s MLAs to join the latter, leaving MGP to have just a single MLA in the assembly. Goa will go for Lok Sabha elections and a by-poll for Mapusa assembly constituency on April 23rd which is the phase three.

“We will teach BJP a lesson for splitting our party,c said an angry president of MGP Dipak Dhavalikar. After Manohar Parrikar’s death, Pramod Sawant is made the CM of Goa. In the coalition government, Sudin Dhavalikar of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party was made the deputy chief minister but later he was dropped from the state cabinet. This is has irked MGP and later BJP poached the MLAs.

With MGP withdrawing support, BJP strength in Goa assembly is just 14 on its own and three members from Goa Forward Party and three independents.

We have to see how MGP’s withdrawal of support will impact BJP in the Lok Sabha and by-elections.
