F2 – Fun & Frustration was carrying less buzz among the Sankranthi releases. Audiences too talked about ‘NTR – Kathanayakudu’ and ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama.’ Promotions and business of these two films were quite high when compared to ‘F2.’

Many had doubts whether ‘F2’ would survive in this stiff competition. Teaser and trailer of the film have raised the expectations of the movie and post release, the entire scenario got changed. Surpassing all the odds, ‘F2’ so far has collected over Rs 60 crore share and it’s full run, the film is likely to end making Rs 80 crore share.

What’s surprising is, ‘F2’ collections are on par with the collections of ‘NTR’ and ‘VVR.’ It’s a strange case for ‘NTR.’ Though the film got terrific reviews, the ticket counter reported below par numbers while ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’ got a disaster talk. The film survived because of the festival season and Ram Charan’s mass image. The first part of ‘NTR’ has made just Rs 20 crore and ‘VVR’ collected Rs 60 crore.

If ‘NTR’ and ‘VVR’ collections are combined, that would be ‘F2’ full run numbers. If this would not have been festival season, ‘VVR’ would have certainly witnessed less collections and then Rajinikanth’s ‘Petta’ would come into picture to match the total collections of ‘F2.’

Trivikram directed ‘Aravindha Sametha’ didn’t set box-office on fire despite fairly average ratings. The movie collapsed after initial good openings.Excessive violence and lack of entertainment made family audiences stay away from Trivikram’s movie.

Irrespective of box-office results, Trivikram’s films generally fare well on TV and bring good ratings. His ‘Athadu” is all-time mega hit on small screen.NTR too has great pulling power on Television, his “Bigg Boss” show was a roaring hit.

So, one expects solid ratings for the world Television premiere of “Aravindha Sametha” but the movie that was aired on Zee TV recently has brought in pretty low ratings for a big movie.It achieved 13.7 TVR. This is half the rating that a “Fidaa” achieved on its Television premiere.

Controversial director Ramgopal Verma’s film ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ highlighting the backstabbing of NTR by Chandrababu Naidu to become CM in 1995 is learnt to have got a boost from TRS.

The film which failed to see the light of the day though it was announced in October 2017, picked up the pace all of a sudden.

It is reliably learnt that the movie has been getting all the support from TRS, with a condition that the film should be released before AP Assembly polls expected in April/May.

The statement made by YSRCP leader Rakesh Reddy, who is producing Lakshmi’s NTR, on Thursday giving credence to these speculations.

While the movie failed to hit the floors for one-and-a-half year after announcement, RGV recently started releasing songs and teasers one by one at a jet speed.

Within a month, the star cast was finalised, shooting has been going on a war footing and all this is is being reported as TRS lending ‘all the support’ for Rakesh Reddy.

TRS leadership want the movie to be released by March, at least a month before AP Assembly polling.

The party feels that projecting Chandrababu in bad light and flaring up NTR sentiment may work against TDP and help YSRCP to win polls.

Rakesh Reddy on Thursday said that they will release the movie in March and ready to face any challenges thrown up by TDP or anyone to obstruct the movie.

After debuting with Sneha Geetham movie in 2009, Venky tried his luck but other films never happened. For more than 3 years, he waited with a hope that acting opportunities will knock doors, but they never did. And finally, he turned to writing and worked with a couple of writers, before debuting as a director after Niharika introduced him to her brother Varun Tej. Earlier Venky is said to have co-written Niharika’s debut web series Muddapappu Aavakai.

In recent times, films that are made with excessive budgets didn’t work for Mahesh Babu. Rather they have ended up as cost-failures. But those movies that are taken care by him have done pretty well at the box office. Now, let’s cut to ‘Maharshi’ movie.

Apparently, director Vamsi Paidipally is known for his excessive spendings and going overboard sometimes when it comes to the budget. His previous film ‘Opiri’ didn’t make huge profits despite getting huge applause, because the production cost went up heavily. And when it comes to this Mahesh Babu starrer, it seems like here also huge budget is getting poured.

If we look at Maharshi’s travels, the film got shot at Hyderabad, Ramoji Film City, Pune, Himachal Pradesh, New York (USA) and now they went to Abu Dhabi. Wonder if such many locations are really needed for the film or they are adding that grandeur, but producer Dil Raju (and Ashwini Dutt, PVP) is spending a bomb for sure.

The only thing that could save big budgeted films is that their under-control budget. Recently Dil Raju himself revealed that some films don’t make money despite success talk. So, hope he is taking care of everything.

Makers of NTR biopic made last minute adjustments and decided to release the film in two parts. It is believed to be Balakrishna’s idea to release the film in two parts.The film was supposed to be produced by Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri at the beginning. Balakrishna decided to make it a joint venture as he felt that it is the best film to launch his production house NBK Films.

However, the original producers have been sidelined as the film progressed and were reportedly paid royalty as their share.They didn’t have any share in the second part as it was solely Balakrishna’s idea to release it in two parts.

Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri couldn’t go against Balakrishna as he is too powerful and stayed mum despite being pushed aside as ‘saha nirmatalu’.But Balakrishna’s tactics backfired as NTR Kathanayakudu ended up a box office disaster. He was forced to sell NTR Mahanayakudu for free to the same distributors.

It is unlikely for him to make any money on the second part given the response for first part.Even the digital and satellite rights wouldn’t fetch extra money in spite of two parts.
