Nara Lokesh’s Blooper On Machilipatnam Port

Share

Chinna Babu Nara Lokesh is courting blooper after the blooper. And Opposition parties naturally cornering Lokesh for his goof-ups as he is a safe target and that is now turning out to be a big embarrassment to TDP and Chandrababu Naidu. The latest is his blooper on Machilipatnam Port which is drawing huge criticism on social media and making it easy for his trolls to take on him.

Speaking at a public rally the other day, Nara Lokesh invoked the sentiment of Andhra and attacked KCR for “fingering” in the politics of Andhra Pradesh. Lokesh alleged that KCR is coming into AP politics to stop Polavaram Irrigation Project and to take back the 7 merged mandals from AP to Telangana. This is alright.

But giving a huge shocker, Lokesh went a step further and alleged that KCR is putting all efforts to shift “Machilipatnam Port” from AP to Telangana. This is what causing laughs all over. What Lokesh meant was that Telangana government was trying to get hold of a port in Andhra Pradesh, but what Lokesh said was conveying a different meaning. As Telangana doesn’t even have a sea or a costal line, how can Telangana try to shift a Port from Andhra Pradesh to Telangana was the question on many lips. In a bid to level allegations on KCR & TRS, Lokesh seems to have crossed the line and have missed the logic. This may back-fire to the TDP. Hence many leaders of TDP wants Lokesh to be more careful while speaking in public.

While such faux pas are not new for Chinna Babu, he has to be more conscious while speaking in public domain as the elections are very close-by and one will pay a huge price even for small mistakes. PS : Lokesh needs good speech writers!

Pawan, No Need of ‘Acting’ on a Campaign Trail!

Share

Politicians indulge in all sort of tricks during election campaign. Some leaders cut hair of customers in saloons, some prepare mirchi bajji at roadside bandi, some even help cleaning the dishes, all for the sake of publicity.

These scenes we regularly see in Andhra and Telangana during the election period.

Pawan Kalyan is also doing similar acts. He is sitting on the floor and eating “jowar rice” in a clay earthen plate.

On a campaign trail, he is taking rest at roadside and giving “poses” for the camera that he is sitting on the floor and having food like a common man.

Before the election phase began, he used to travel on special chopper flight for even shortest distances in Andhra Pradesh.

He enjoyed all the luxuries. But his team is now “feeding” us the photos of the Jana Sena leader feeding the cattle, having tea in his car, eating food in an earthen plate.

A leader needs to tell us what he would do for the poor and for the public if he/she gets elected. This “acting” doesn’t help. Why does one need this drama when intent is right?

Anyone can easily guess that he is doing all for shutterbugs.

Pawan creates a rift between Kalwakuntla and Mega Families!

Share

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s wild criticism on Telangana CM KCR and TRS government has created a rift between “powerful family of Telangana” (Kalwakuntla family) and “Mega” Family.

Pawan has been accusing KCR and TRS government of threatening/beating up AP settlers in Hyderabad and forcing them to support YSRCP.

Pawan is also questioning the KCR’s involvement in Andhra politics, when TRS has no presence in Andhra.

He is accusing KCR of trying to rule Andhra Pradesh through his proxy YSRCP’s Jagan.

Pawan’s comments naturally angered Kalwakuntla family comprising of KCR, KTR and Kavitha.

This is because Pawan himself came all the way to Pragathi Bhavan, the official residence-cum-camp office of KCR, to meet KCR few months ago.

After the meeting, Pawan showered praises on KCR while speaking to media present at Pragathi Bhavan.

Pawan said KCR is the best CM in the country and TRS government has done wonders in Telangana within a short span, which no other CM could achieve.

But Pawan took sudden U-turn of KCR and TRS government and targeting them in his election meetings in AP.

KCR, KTR and Kavitha reportedly told party leaders that they can understand Pawan criticising TRS or any other parties during elections as everyone does this but what angered them is Pawan attempting to dent the ‘brand image’ of Hyderabad with his comments that KCR and TRS government threatens Andhra businessmen, industrialists and others who own assets and businesses, for their political benefits.

They said this ‘false propaganda’ should not be spared as it would eventually affect the investment climate in Hyderabad and also the brand image of Hyderabad of being the global and cosmopolitan city, where people from all castes and creeds co-exist peacefully and living harmoniously.

They said if this ‘vicious campaign’ is not nipped in the bud, it would lead to disastrous consequences in future.

Kalwakuntla family enjoys ‘good relations’ with Mega family comprising of Chiranjeevi, Ramcharan, Allu Aravind etc.

KTR is seen in most of the filmy functions of Mega family where both lavish praises on each other.

But Pawan’s baseless charges against KCR and TRS and Mega Family remaining a mute spectator to this is learnt to have irked Kalwakuntla family.

KCR & family reportedly decided to maintain ‘distance’ with Mega family in the coming days

Andhra start-up accuses BJP of stealing web template

Share

An Andhra Pradesh-based technology start-up has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using its web template to get its own hacked website up without giving them credit.

More than two weeks after being hacked, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) website on Friday came out of its “maintenance” mode with just one static page.

In a blog post, the Nellore-based startup called W3layouts said that the BJP IT cell has used their layout template in the restored website.

The design used by BJP was “Peek” – a “Landing Page Bootstrap Responsive Web Template” built by W3layouts.

“While the design is free to use, it includes a backlink. A small link at the end of the page, which indicates that the design was by W3layouts,” the startup wrote in the blog post late Saturday.

“We, at W3layouts, were initially happy and excited that BJP IT cell was using our template, then devastated to see our work being used by BJP removing the backlink without paying, and giving no credit whatsoever to W3layouts,” the startup posted.

The website of the ruling party went into the “maintenance mode” on March 5 after being hacked.

The start-up also brought the issue to the BJP’s notice via Twitter.

“@BJP4India please ask your team to read the license terms https://w3layouts.com/license/ before removing “designed by w3layouts”? Please provide your IT Team Email id will have a word,” the startup posted.

After the tweet went to the BJP, “they removed the code where ever w3layouts was mentioned”.

“While the visible backlinks were removed, it was clear that BJP was still using the W3layouts code as it was evident in the source code of the page,” informed the startup.

The BJP’s Twitter handle was yet to post a reply.

W3layouts builds free premium quality HTML templates where anyone can download its designs and start their website, with due credit.

The noted French security researcher Elliot Alderson tweeted: “After 3 weeks of maintenance, you (BJP) used a free template from @W3layouts, you plagiarised @W3layouts work without giving them credit”.

The start-up said all it wanted was a “thanks for the template”.

IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had on March 12 admitted the BJP website was hacked.

YSRC launches new campaign ‘Jagan Anna Kanuka’

Share

In the midst of the canvassing for the April 11 elections, the YSRC on Sunday launched another campaign, Jagan Anna Kanuka.

Through this campaign, the YSRC aims to take its message and that of party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s ‘Navaratnalu’, nine promises, to every home.

Under the campaign, Assembly election nominees of the YSRC, with the help of booth committee members and volunteers, will visit every house in their respective constituencies.

Party candidates on Sunday conducted meetings with mandal in-charges and booth conveners to brief them on what the campaign entails. This was followed by door-to-door outreach and distribution of Jagan Anna Kanuka bags.

Each bags contain campaign material for 20 households and a guideline document, stickers and table calendars for 20 households and a badge for a booth committee member.

Booth conveners and committee members will form a team of 2-3 members and reach every house in their booth. They will explain the promises under Navaratnalu, and how they will benefit each member of the family. They will then hand over the table calendar.

People who agree to support the YSRC would be asked to give a ‘missed call’ on 9121091210, after which they will receive an IVR with party’s campaign song – ‘Ravali Jagan Kavali Jagan’. Before leaving, the outreach team take the family’s permission and paste the sticker on the door.

It is expected that each candidate will reach 45,000 houses in their constituencies by April 9, when campaign ends.

‘Latecomers’ are ‘stars’ in TRS now!

Share

‘Latecomers’ into the party are calling the shots in TRS now. KCR is the undisputed leader in TRS and everyone in the party agrees that no one can ‘influence’ KCR.

But the recent developments in TRS are presenting a contrasting picture.

Earlier, those who were associated with KCR for decades in his political career or those who worked with KCR during Telangana statehood agitation used to get priority in TRS.

But this trend seems be no more visible in TRS. For instance, ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Chamakura Malla Reddy.

Both defected from TDP to TRS in 2015. Both are nowhere associated with Telangana agitation.

Talasani became minister in KCR’s cabinet in first term itself even when he was continuing as TDP MLA. Talasani retained minister post again in second term when several of his senior cabinet colleagues could not.

Malla Reddy became minister recently in KCR’s cabinet in second term.

Now both these leaders secured TRS Lok Sabha ticket for their wards.

Talsanis secured Secunderabad Lok Sabha ticket to his son Saikiran while Malla Reddy secured Malkajgiri Lok Sabha ticket for his son in law Marri Rajasekhar Reddy.

At a time, when leaders like AP Jithender Reddy, Nayani Narasimha Reddy, T Padma Rao Goud etc who are associated with Telangana agitation, TRS and KCR for years, they could not secure tickets or posts from KCR for themselves or for their wards.

But Malla Reddy and Talasani, who are latecomers into Telangana could walk away with ‘double dhamaka’.

TRS old timers are seniors wonder how Talasani and Malla Reddy could ‘influence’ KCR, which was not possible for them despite working with him for several years.

Lokesh fighting a risky battle in Mangalagiri!

Share

Telugu Desam Party general secretary and IT minister Nara Lokesh might have felt Mangalagiri assembly constituency in Guntur a safer seat for him, but reports from ground zero indicate that it was rather a risky decision.

Party leaders in Guntur district wonder why TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has fielded his son from Mangalagiri, instead of another safe seat in Anantapur or Chittoor district.

“Naidu should have fielded his son from Kuppam and he, himself, should have shifted to coastal Andhra, which would also have improved his party’s position in coastal Andhra,” a party leader said.

The situation in Mangalagiri is not so conducive for Lokesh, though the TDP rank and file are struggling hard for his victory.

Reason: YSR Congress party’s sitting MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, who had won with a very meagre majority in 2014, has consolidated his position in the last five years. Especially in the youth, there is a lot of craze for RK.

“He has gained complete control over the rural areas, though in urban areas of Mangalagiri are still with the TDP. If RK can split considerable number of votes in urban areas, he will walk away with the victory,” a local source said.

Apart from traditional Kamma voters, Lokesh is banking on the votes of farmers who had given their lands to Amaravati, as they made big fortunes in the last three years.

He is also hoping that the weavers’ community, which is the deciding factor, will favour the TDP.

In any case, the fight in Mangalagiri is not so easy for Lokesh!
