Mega Fans Miffed With Chiranjeevi!

Share

Vinaya Vidheya Rama getting trolled for its stupid scenes is hurting mega fans than its failure.

In fact fans didn’t have high hopes on VVR at any point as Boyapati is known for routine masala movies. However, they didn’t expect the film to be so lousy with Megastar Chiranjeevi supervising it from behind.

Fans are shocked to see some stupid scenes making the final cut. They are surprised that Chiru and Charan had approved such silly stuff.

Fans are also miffed at Chiranjeevi for advising Charan to take up Boyapati’s film after Rangasthalam. This turned out to be a blunder from Charan when his career is heading in the right direction with films like Dhruva and Rangasthalam.

Chiranjeevi’s liking for mass movies and his guidance for Charan proved to be a mistake already. Charan realized his mistakes and started taking up challenging scripts.

He has overcome his weaknesses with Rangasthalam, but made a costly mistake yet again.

Fans are hoping that this wouldn’t affect Charan much and would be a great lesson for him in the future.

Purandeshwari to send hubby into YSRC?

Share

It looks like former Union minister and Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha leader Daggubati Purandeshwari has decided against quitting the party and joining the YSR Congress party.

She wants to continue in the BJP, but has decided to send her husband Daggubati Venkateshwar Rao and son Hitesh Chenchuram into the YSRC.

It is learnt YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has already decided to finalise the candidature of Hitesh for Parchur assembly seat in Prakasam district.

The appearance of Hitesh’s photographs on the flex boards in Ongole did not surprise many, but what surprised them was the picture of Daggubati Venkateshwar Rao.

It is learnt YSRCP MP V Vijayasai Reddy played a crucial role in bringing the father and son into the YSRC. Apparently, Venkateshwar Rao will be given a key post in the party.

While Purandeshwari will remain in the BJP for some time, hoping that she might get nomination to Rajya Sabha from some state shortly.

If the party fares badly in the next Lok Sabha elections, she can take a decision on joining the YSRC at a later stage, say sources.

Venkateshwar Rao, eldest son-in-law of former CM, late N.T Rama Rao. He shifted loyalties from Telugu Desam Party to Congress in 2004 along with his wife Purandeswari.

He was elected as MLA from Congress ticket in 2004 and 2009 assembly elections respectively. After 2014, he went into a virtual political hibernation.

Naidu’s new strategy: No alliance, only finance in TS

Share

TDP president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is learnt to have come up with a new strategy to beat TRS in upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Telangana.

Chandrababu realised that TDP-Congress alliance will no longer work in Telangana after Mahakutami suffered humiliating defeat at the hands of TRS in recent Assembly polls.

Chandrababu strongly believes that TDP-Congress alliance in Assembly polls only helped KCR to flare up ‘Telangana sentiment’ and win elections with a thumping majority though TRS government’s performance was very poor in its first term and 40 sitting TRS MLAs were on the verge of defeat due to anti-incumbency against KCR’s government.

Chandrababu has now decided not to repeat this mistake in upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Babu has offered only to finance Congress candidates in Lok Sabha polls and does not want TDP-Congress alliance.

TDP is also not willing to contest any Lok Sabha seats in Telangana barring Malkajgiri and Khammam and ready to forego even these seats if the need arises to beat TRS.

Babu reportedly offered Rs 500 crore to fund Congress to beat TRS considering that this Lok Sabha polls are important for him as both Chandrababu and KCR are competing with each other to play ‘crucial role’ in national politics by bagging maximum number of Lok Sabha seats.

Babu’s strategy is to see that KCR loses majority of the seats in Lok Sabha polls and lose his importance in national politics.

Only time will tell how Chandrababu’s new strategy of ‘no alliance, only finance’ will work out in Telangana in Lok Sabha polls.

Pawan dashes KCR’s hopes on YCP-Jana Sena alliance!

Share

Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan’s comments in Tenali during Sankranthi celebrations on Sunday dashed the hopes of TRS president and Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao on forging alliance between YSRCP and Jana Sena to defeat TDP in upcoming Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh in April.

Pawan took a dig at TRS for openly supporting YSRCP and alleged that the ‘friendship’ between YSRCP and TRS was only to take revenge on AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and no interests of Andhra Pradesh are involved in this friendship.

Pawan’s statement came as a shock for KCR, who is said to be seriously making efforts to bring YSRCP and Jana Sene together to dethrone Chandrababu in Assembly polls as part KCR’ ‘return gift’ to Chandrababu for involving in recent Telangana Assembly polls by forging Mahakutami against TRS.

What caused more embarrassment to KCR is that Pawan questioning TRS, why it was welcoming Jagan with open hands in Telangana, when it threatened Jagan that it will not allow Jagan to set his feet in Telangana during Telangana statehood agitation days.

KCR is reportedly angry at Pawan Kalyan’s comment that he was trying to forge YSRCP-Jana Sena alliance only to take revenge on Chandrababu and nothing else.

KCR feels that Pawan’s statement will help Chandrababu as AP people may feel ‘sympathetic’ towards Chandrababu thinking that KCR and Jagan have joined hands only to defeat TDP.

KCR expects that Chandrababu may utilise Pawan’s comments during TDP campaigning in Assembly polls aggressively to attract ‘sympathy’ of AP voters towards him and flare up “Andhra sentiment”.

Shrewd Naidu counters Jagan with calculated moves

Share

Amaravati: With three months to go for simultaneous elections to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and the Lok Sabha, the ruling Telugu Desam Party and the main opposition YSR Congress Party are bracing for what is expected to be a keen tussle.

With his 14-month-long ‘padyatra’ or walkathon, Leader of Opposition Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy has infused enthusiasm among the of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) cadres while Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu continues to shock his main opponent with calculated moves.

Jagan, as the YSRCP chief is popularly known, last week concluded his ‘padyatra’ at Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district bordering Odisha. His foot-march covered 3,648 km, claimed to be the longest walkathon undertaken by any politician in India.

Known for mingling with people and developing an instant rapport with them, Jagan heard their problems in every village he visited and promised what YSRCP will do if voted to power.

Jagan hopes to repeat what his father and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) had achieved in 2004 – covering 1,450 km across in then undivided Andhra Pradesh catapulting Congress to power and ending Chandrababu Naidu’s nearly decade-long rule. Rajasekhara Reddy, however, died in a helicopter crash in September 2009 soon after the Congress was returned to power.

Surpassing his late father in terms of the distance covered, the 46-year-old Jagan is now aiming to unseat same Chandrababu Naidu. Heavily banking on his late father’s legacy but lacking YSR’s charisma, Jagan faces a daunting task.

Naidu, a shrewd politician, is using every trick in the book to checkmate Jagan. The TDP chief, who had accepted the special package announced by Narendra Modi government in lieu of special category status, stunned all by taking a U-turn on the issue and walking out of BJP-led NDA government last March.

Naidu, who last year completed 40 years in politics, apparently realised that the YSRCP, by taking up the issue of special category status may queer the pitch for the TDP. Accusing Modi of betraying the people of Andhra Pradesh, Naidu also labelled Jagan as Modi’s agent.

However, Naidu’s biggest gamble came when he joined hands with the Congress, a party which was number one enemy for him and for TDP for 36 years. Defending this as a democratic compulsion, the 68-year-old embarked on bringing together all non-BJP parties for an alliance at the national level. He, however, failed in his first attempt as the alliance-led by the Congress faced a crushing defeat in last month’s Telangana elections.

Undeterred by this, Naidu continued making fast moves in Andhra Pradesh to keep up the pressure on Jagan. In the latest move, the TDP leader enhanced the social security pensions, a promise made by Jagan during his ‘padyatra’.

With the YSRCP chief ridiculing Naidu’s plans to develop capital city Amaravati remaining confined to designs for the last five years, the Chief Minister has speeded up the works in recent weeks to reiterate his determination to build a world-class city even without support from the Centre.

Targeting Modi and Jagan on the one hand and calculated moves to stem any anti-incumbency on the other, Naidu is confident of not only retaining power but also winning a majority of the 25 Lok Sabha seats from the state to once again play a key role in the national politics.

YSRCP leaders, however, believe there is groundswell of public anger against the TDP.

“The TDP may be reduced to single digit. This may seem an exaggeration but it is not, going by the strong anti-incumbency sentiments,” claimed Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal, a retired police officer who joined the YSRCP a few months ago.

With Naidu no longer enjoying the backing of BJP and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan, Jagan hopes the changed political scenario would help the YSRCP to come to power.

In 2014, the TDP had bagged 102 seats in 175-member Assembly but its vote share was just two percent more than that of YSRCP, which secured 67 seats.

Whichever way one looks at it, an exciting battle is on the cards.

TDP trying to malign me, alleges Sharmila

Share

Rubbishing the false propaganda unleashed by vested interests by linking her name to that of a popular Telugu film hero Prabhas, YSR Congress leader Y S Sharmila alleged that the Telugu Desam party had hatched a conspiracy to defame her ahead of the general elections to get political mileage.

After lodging a formal complaint with the Hyderabad police on Monday against those responsible for posting objectionable material against her in social media, Sharmila said: ‘such false propaganda has started before 2014 elections and swung back with elections fast approaching now.”

She said she had sought proper action against those carrying out the character assassination and objectionable posting in the social media and the perpetrators who are behind the scenes.

“I strongly believe that TDP is behind spreading the rumour as is its wont. When the leadership does not warn its cadre who are speaking of such things it implies that it approves the version of the lower rung leaders,” she said.

Sharmila said she had no acquaintance with Prabhas whatsoever and had never talked to him.

“Being a mother, wife and person with family bond, it hurts when such slanderous campaign is carried out and if I do not react, my silence may lead to some unpleasant conclusions which is the reason why I lodged the complaint seeking action against those who are responsible for such libelous comments using the social media as a tool,” she said.

She requested the intelligentsia to come forward and extend support to all those who are falling prey to such propaganda and it is time that the issue is uprooted completely.

“The TDP is known for spreading rumours and this is no different. They tried to defame my father by calling him a factionist and they were proved wrong. The same rumour of relationship with the film star was floated before 2014 and was subsided after the election and this time it has again popped up before polls,” Sharmila alleged.

Jagan Rejects MLA Ticket To DLR!

Share

Former minister D L Ravindra Reddy, who had been desperately trying to get back into active politics by joining YSR Congress party, received a rude shock on Monday, when party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy refused to entertain his request.

Jagan announced the name of sitting MLA Raghurami Reddy as the party candidate from Mydukuru constituency for the forthcoming assembly elections.

He also announced the candidature of Dr Sudheer Reddy for Jammalamadugu assembly constituency for which he was appointed the in-charge in place of sitting MLA Adinarayana Reddy who had defected to the TDP and become a minister in Chandrababu Naidu cabinet.

A day before, several followers of D L Ravindra Reddy met Jagan and requested that he be given the party ticket for Mydukuru. They tried to convince him that DL was a strong candidate and could win the seat with over 50,000 votes’ majority.

But Jagan told DL’s followers that it was not possible to give MLA ticket to him.

“If he joins the party, we will respect him and give him the MLC seat. If it is okay for him, we are ready to admit him into the party,” he said.

However, DL was very angry with the offer.

“I have been in politics for the last four decades and had been a six-time MLA. How can I accept MLC seat? I am ready to join any party that gives me respect and MLA ticket,” he asserted.

A high-tech spin for the old-school peephole

Share

The CES 2019 gadget show is revving up in Las Vegas. Here are the latest findings and observations from Associated Press reporters on the ground.

DING-DONG, THE PEEPHOLE IS RINGING

Ring is giving the old-school peephole a high-tech spin.

The company unveiled a new internet-connected video doorbell that fits into most peepholes. The new device is aimed at apartment dwellers or college students who want a video doorbell, but may not be allowed to install one next to their doors.

Amazon bought Ring last year, giving it a shot at competing better with Google’s Nest, which also makes cameras and doorbells. Privacy experts have long sounded the alarm on Wi-Fi connected cameras and how video is stored. Amazon recently filed a patent application for a facial-recognition system involving home security cameras, which would allow multiple cameras to create composites of faces to identify people who may be trying to burglarise a house. It doesn’t appear Ring uses facial recognition yet, as Nest already does, though Ring may add such features over time. Amazon did not respond to a request for comment.

Ring’s Door View Cam will go on sale in March for USD 199. Ring’s new device will still act as a peephole, but will also send alerts to user’s smartphones when the doorbell is pressed or someone knocks the door.

EYE OF THE BEHOLDER?

The makers of a robotic “personal massager” for women won a prestigious CES award. Then organisers took it away.

Its maker, the startup Lora DiCarlo, was also banned from exhibiting on the show floor (though it’s in Las Vegas at a separate media event).

The show’s organiser, the Consumer Technology Association, said in an email to Lora DiCarlo that it reserved the right to disqualify any entry “deemed by CTA in their sole discretion to be immoral, obscene, indecent, profane or not in keeping with CTA’s image.”

An independent panel of judges had selected Lora DiCarlo’s Ose vibrator last fall to win a CES 2019 Innovation Honoree Award in the robotics and drone category. Gary Shapiro, CTA’s president and CEO, apologised in a separate letter and said the company should have been told it’s “ineligible for entry.” CTA declined to provide further comment to The Associated Press on why the product was ineligible.

Ose’s makers say it’s sexism, noting that “a literal sex doll for men launched on the floor at CES in 2018.” Lora Haddock, the CEO of Lora DiCarlo, says that makes for a double standard at the tech show already under fire for not including enough women.

SHADES THAT TEXT

Smart glasses haven’t been a hit, but at least one startup still sees them in our future.

A company called North will be delivering its USD 999 smart glasses to customers in the coming weeks. Called Focals by North, they pair with a smartphone and show text messages, weather and mapping directions on the glass that only the wearer sees.

Users also need to wear a ring with a joystick on their index finger, so they can flip through messages or respond with their thumb. It can also be controlled using the built-in Amazon Alexa voice assistant, but the joystick has to be pressed down for it to start listening.

Getting people to buy smart glasses has been a challenge — Google famously stopped selling its smart glasses to the public about four years ago.

Aaron Grant, North’s co-founder, says his product is different because they are designed to look like regular frames. And prescription lenses can be added.

But there’s a small projector on one side, and the frames on the side are slightly thicker.

FRESH BREAD, NO BAKER

That smell wafting through the CES show? Freshly baked bread.

Wilkinson Baking Co. unveiled a 22-square-foot machine that can bake 10 loaves of bread every hour — no baker needed. But a human is needed to dump the ingredients into the machine, which then mixes them, forms the dough and starts baking. Someone also needs to slice the bread, although the company says it’s working on a way for the machines to do that, too.

The BreadBot, as it’s called, is being pitched to supermarkets as a way to deliver fresh bread to shoppers who are increasingly worried about the ingredients in their foods. The machine is covered in glass, so customers can watch bread get made. They then select the loaf they want on a touch screen, sort of like a vending machine.

Three local supermarkets are already testing it. The company says a couple of big chains have agreed to try it out soon, but it won’t say which.

SMART BRA

Is your bra dumb? An underwear company is pitching a solution to an age-old problem for women: finding a bra that actually fits.

In the past, women could get help from an expert human in finding their right size. A simple measuring tape wouldn’t do, as it doesn’t reflect other factors such as the shape of a woman’s breasts. But these old-school “bra fitters” are hard to find these days.

To address that, a company called Soma has added some circuits to a brassiere and connected it to an app.

The Soma Innofit has four lines of circuitry hooked up to a circuit board in the back, which then connects to an app via Bluetooth. The smart USD 59 bra then recommends a bra — from Soma’s line, of course.

The smart bra isn’t meant for regular wearing, though it could be used again if sizes change because of pregnancy or other factors. The company says people who don’t want to buy one can use it at a Soma store.

First live image of the OnePlus 7 pops up showing bezel-less display

Share

Over the past few weeks, various rumours regarding the OnePlus 7 have been surfacing indicating that it will be the first smartphone from the brand to sport Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 SoC. The handset is also expected to be the first 5G capable handset running the upcoming mobile wireless standard that’s poised to make significant advancements in the telecom industry. While all of this had been based on hearsay, we had no idea what the handset will look like once launched. If the latest leak is anything to go by, then we now have a definite idea as to what the OnePlus 7 will like when it makes its official debut.

As per a post by SlashLeaks, we now see what’s apparently the OnePlus 7 with a bezel-less display and what appears to be a slide-up or pop-up camera. There is no official confirmation as to whether this design will make it into production by the time the OnePlus 7 hits shelves later on this year as the said image is a prototype.

The OnePlus 7 prototype sits alongside the OnePlus 6T and from the image it’s clear to see that the top half on the handsets are where the differences between the two handsets lie. The OnePlus 7 features no notch and barely any top bezel while the OnePlus 6T pictured next to it features a waterdrop notch.

A point to note is that there is no front-facing camera visible on the OnePlus 7 and as of now, we assume that OnePlus will fit the camera in either a slide-up panel like the Mi Mix 3 or in a Vivo Nex-style pop-up camera.

Whatever this upcoming design may be, it’s going to be vastly different from the OnePlus 6T. However, since this is a prototype design, nothing is set in stone and the design could change closer to the beginning of production.

As far as other features of the OnePlus 7 go, the handset is rumoured to feature a Snapdragon 855 SoC, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, Android 9.0 Pie and feature a triple camera set up at the back.

The launch of the handset is not yet confirmed but if past launches are anything to go by, then we can expect it to release by either May or June of 2019.
