Touted to be the biopic on yesteryear legendary actress Savitri, ‘Mahanati’ movie has started the trend of biopics in Tollywood.

When the movie was announced everyone thought it is not going to work out. But the way Nag Ashwin has portrayed the life story of Savitri on the silver screens made the film a blockbuster hit. After that, so many filmmakers are showing interest in making biopics. The biopic on Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao also got released recently and is gaining positive response from the audience.

The second part of the biopic is also slated to get released in a month. When asked about when Nagarjuna is going to do the biopic on his father, the legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, the ‘Manmadhudu’ actor stated that he can’t make a biopic on ANR as there will be no twists and turns in his life and he lived a content and peaceful life. But it seems like Nag’s opinion has changed.

Recently, when Nagarjuna went to Tirumala on the occasion of New Year, he was asked about ANR’s biopic. Instead of clarifying the rumors, he just smiled. Seeing his behavior, rumors popped that Nagarjuna is in thoughts to do a biopic on ANR. If that happens, it would definitely be good news for all the Akkineni fans.

So, the movie unit roped in a senior actress Lakshmi to play the 70-year-old role and Samantha will play the 20-year-old role in the film. Naga Shourya is going to play a vital role in the movie.

Ram Gopal Varma has finally announced the casting details of his Lakshmi’s NTR, a biopic on late NTR from Lakshmi Parvathi’s viewpoint.

Kannada actress Yagna Shetty is essaying the role of Lakshmi Parvathi in this film. She did many Kannada films including Ram Gopal Varma’s “Killing Veerappan”.

RGV posted series of her photographs from the movie. She has some resemblance to Lakshmi Parvathi.

He has also announced the name of the actor who is essaying Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Actress Bidita Bag who received critical acclaim for her performance in Bollywood flick ‘Badumoshai Bandookbaaz’ shared her #MeToo Story.

In an interview, Bidita Bag disclosed: ‘Ram Gopal Varma’s Assistant approached Me for a role in a project. Over a period of time, We became friends and used to hang out. While returning from a party, He molested Me inside the car. When I pleaded him to let me go, He asked why don’t I enjoy the moment and remember it as a small incident. Though I wasn’t raped, that scars aren’t any less and I was scared for life’.

In the last few years, many web shows like Lust Stories and Karanjit Kaur introduced some of the explicit content that is new to the Indian audience. Now, yet another show titled Four More Shots please is joining this club. Starring Sayani Gupta, Manvi, Bani J and Kriti Kulhari, this show will be aired on Amazon Prime from January 25.

Going with the promos, the show looks like a chick flick surrounding the issue of homosexuality. Popular actress Lisa Ray is also playing a prominent role in this show. Apparently, she will be seen as star actress who is a lesbian in nature. This is not new for Lisa as she was seen in a similar role in 2008 British drama I Can’t Think Straight.

The Accidental Prime Minister film based on ex-PM Manmohan Singh had its release on Friday. The film met with poor reviews. The critics termed the film has no substance that can make it work at the box office or turn into a controversy which is the need of the hour.

However, the reviewers appreciated actor Anupam Kher who reprised the role of Manmohan Singh and added that he is the only saving grace. Reputed media house, Hindustan Times wrote that, “This is a film transparently motivated to point out how lethal dynasty politics can be, and comes to us a few months before a general election.” And their rating is a single star.

Another media house, NDTV did give one and half star, and wrote, “The film, however, is neither hugely entertaining nor engagingly dramatic.”

Indian Express reviewed the film as, “The Accidental Prime Minister is an out-an-out propaganda film, created for the specific purpose of making the former prime minister look like a weak, spineless man, a puppet whose strings were controlled by The Family.”

All in all, the film looks like a disappointment at the box office.
