YSR Maker Turns To Focus On Bold Content
After penning letters to cinema lovers regarding his Yaatra where he has requested none to force celebs to talk about the film, director Mahi V Raghav is said to have got upset with the way film tanked at the box office. Despite getting some initial high, the film hasn’t taken off well from there.
In a bid to deliver a hard-hitting next, actually, Mahi is said to be choosing the web platform now. As many directors are delivering extremely bold, hard hitting and never before content on web streams like Amazon and Netflix where is there is no Censor trouble, it looks like even Mahi is going this way. Jagan Keeps Kin At Bay, Fans Happy
YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s decision to keep away most of his relatives and lobbyists while distributing party tickets for the ensuing general elections is being viewed as a good sign for the party.
According to one of his die-hard fans, his father and former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy had never encouraged the relatives.
Not many had heard about his family members, except his father Raja Reddy, brother Y S Vivekananda Reddy and at the most his cousin E C Gangi Reddy.
But after the death of YSR, many of his relatives started flocking Jagan and established themselves as a strong lobby.
Even Jagan, because of his political immaturity, depended too much on his relatives and made some of them MPs and MLAs. Many of them, because of their selfishness, were responsible directly or indirectly to the party’s debacle in 2014.
Now with the general elections are fast approaching again, the same relatives began lobbying for tickets and dominating the party activities.
But Jagan, who has matured as a strong leader in the last five years, realized the futility of these relatives and decided to keep them at bay, while issuing party tickets to only winning horses.
“Many of Jagan’s relatives who had been calling shots in the party all these days, could not even win in their respective seats, but they tried to influence him in issuing tickets to their followers. Many of the genuine party workers and leaders could not get appointment with Jagan even for three minutes, thanks to his relatives who denied them permission to meet him,” a YSRC leader lamented.
He said though there was nothing wrong in encouraging efficient relatives like what Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had done, but unfortunately, all those who were flocking Jagan were inefficient and useless stuff.
“There are many leaders who are far more capable than these relatives,” he said.
Appreciating Jagan for denying ticket to his uncle Y V Subba Reddy, the YSRC leader said if Jagan adopts a tough stand against nepotism, it would fetch excellent results for the party.
Bunny Ropes His Hat-Trick Heroine Again?
Both Allu Arjun and Trivkram are finding it tough to lock the leading heroine for the movie. The last name to be heard in this connection is none other than Pooja Hegde, before that names like Sai Pallavi and Keerthi Suresh are heard. However, they have finalized the second heroine of the movie it seems like.
Earlier, this hottie has worked with Allu Arjun as his second heroine in three films already. The hattrick heroine is none other than Catherine Thresa, who was seen in the films Iddarammayilatho, Rudramadevi, and Sarrainodu where she romanced Allu Arjun. And now, she might join Trivikram’s film also, they say.
Though Bunny has this idea of not repeating his leading ladies, somehow he feels that Catherine suits some roles pretty well and hence he is said to have recommended her name to the director. Currently waiting for the shoot date, Allu Arjun is prepping for his new role in the movie.
The film also marks the hat-trick of Allu Arjun and Thaman, who have earlier delivered two sensational hits with Race Gurram and Sarrainodu.
MLC polls: Fair play in AP, foul in Telangana!
The elections to the members of legislative councils in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana present a completely contrasting pictures.
While it went on smoothly without any controversy in AP, it smacks of intense horse trading in Telangana.
In both the states, elections are being held for five MLC seats under MLAs’ quota.
In Andhra Pradesh, the five MLC candidates who filed the nomination were declared elected unanimously on Friday, as there were no opponents for them.
Out of five MLC seats in MLA’s quota, Telugu Desam Party got four seats and one for YSR Congress party, as per the strength of their MLAs.
From the TDP, four candidates Duvvarapu Rama Rao, Yanamala Ramakrishnadu, Ashok Babu and BT Naidu got elected unanimously, while from YSR Congress Party, Jangam Krishnamurthy was elected to the Legislative Council unopposed.
In Telangana, however, all is not fair with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Like in Andhra, the ruling TRS can win four seats, while the Congress with the support of the two TDP members, can win the remaining one seat.
But TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao does not want to see any Congress member in the council. So, he fielded a fifth candidate through MIM.
In spite of the support from seven MLAs of the MIM and defection from TDP member Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, the TRS still needs seven MLAs. Apparently, KCR is hoping for wooing the Congress MLAs through horse trading.
Under the MLAs’ quota, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy filed his nomination papers with the returning officers for MLC elections on Thursday.
With the filing of nomination by Narayana Reddy, polling has become inevitable to the MLC seats from the Assembly quota on March 12.
Narayana Reddy said he would win if the ruling TRS did not indulge in any manipulation. It remains to be seen how the TRS will win the fifth seat.
Naidu Blacks Out Modi Again!
Notwithstanding the general euphoria in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the Indian Air Force attack on Pakistan, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief N Chandraababu Naidu continues his attempts to create an anti-Modi atmosphere across the state.
For a second time, Naidu called for “blacking out” of Modi visit to the state to address a rally at Visakhapatnam on Friday night.
He asked his party leaders and activists to protest against Modi by wearing black shirts and put up black hoardings and boards everywhere.
Naidu also wore a black shirt to register his protest and directed that the party leaders conduct a dharma porata nirasana in a massive way across the state by wearing black badges, sporting black flags and balloons all over.
He said Modi had done great injustice to the state. He cheated the beliefs of the people and Modi’s visit was like rubbing salt to their wounds, Naidu said, adding till Modi left the state, the dharma porata nirasana would continue.
He alleged that Modi had done great injustice to the state by declaring Visakhapatnam railway zone without Waltair division.
“It is a conspiracy to declare a zone without the revenue. Our revenue is given to Odisha,” he alleged.
