While we have queen bee Samantha Ruth Prabhu enticing as the ‘U Turn’ lady in Telugu version, the original Kannada film has dusky siren Shraddha Srinath playing the lead. And she has done awesome in that role that she bagged films in many languages now.

While Shraddha is set for Telugu debut with Nani’s Jersey, she is now going to Bollywood with Milan Talkies. Directed by noted filmmaker Tignamnshu Dhulia, the trailer of this film is quite promising as it deals with the age old inter-religious love story in a fresh setup. And our Kannada hottie has mesmerized everyone with her hot kisses too.

If there is anyone who thinks that south beauties are bad at kissing, then Shraddha has proved them all wrong. Also, her presence could be felt throughout the trailer as she plays an equally powerful role opposite Ali Faizal. With Milan Talkies set for March 15th release, we have to see if Shraddha could score well in Hindi industry as well.

Meanwhile, her Telugu film Jersey is hitting cinemas in the coming April.

Talk: That Death Scene In Maharshi Movie

One of the most awaited films at the onset of Summer in Tollywood is Superstar Mahesh’s Maharshi movie. The film is all about an NRI returning to his native village and doing his part. And this social thriller is said to be having many heart-wrenching moments.

A talk from the film’s unit is that the whole story will take a new turn with Mahesh’s good friend Allari Naresh dies in the film. The loss of his childhood friend creates an impact on the protagonist and the changes he makes to himself, and the ones he will try to bring in the society will be giving goosebumps, they say.

And director Vamsi Paidipally is said to have carved that death scene quite emotionally, thereby giving a sharp rise to the film’s graph. If this scene clicks, the second half is going to be a sizzler on the silver screen as per the reports.

On the other hand, the film is said to be getting delayed due to various reasons and it might miss the much hyped April last week release. A clarification from producer Dil Raju is awaited in this connection.

Jr NTR Hails 118 And Speaks Nothing Of ‘NTR’

As Balakrishna and Jr NTR have come together yet again, gracing the pre-release event of Kalyan Ram’s latest movie 118, many wondered what will be the speech of Young Tiger be like. As there is talk everywhere that Tarak has neither spoke about NTR Biopic nor he tweeted about it, everyone was expecting him to speak something.

Sticking to the discipline of the function he has attended, Jr NTR has wished his Baabai and other dignitaries, before saying that he watched ‘118’ movie. “I really admire Kalyan Ram Anna for the kind of dedication he shows towards the roles he plays. In one particular scene, Nivetha Thomas made me cry inconsolably. And Shalini Pandey has also played a nice supporting role to my brother. I’ve watched the film and they all impressed me” he said.

Later on, NTR spoke about going safely to home and reminded how speed will thrill but might take life, indirectly hinting at Janaki Ram and Hari Krishna’s deaths. And in the end, he thanked Balayya once again for gracing the event and concluded his speech.

Well, for those who expected him to talk about NTR Biopic, it is a disappointment. And for others, he has showcased his new toned body he is developing for RRR.

No Originality In Naidu’s Welfare Schemes!

Bharatiya Janata Party, which is hell-bent on bringing down Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu from power at any cost, has begun an extensive campaign to prove that he is simply claiming credit for all the welfare schemes launched by the Centre.

Referring to a number of schemes being dished out by Naidu in his cabinet meetings in the last few weeks with an eye on the elections, BJP national spokesman and Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao on Monday alleged that every scheme of Naidu was nothing but a central scheme.

“The TDP government does not have any welfare scheme of its own. All the schemes which are implemented in the state are in fact the schemes of the Modi government. Naidu is just labelling every central scheme as his own,” GVL alleged.

Referring to Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, he said it was being grossly misused.

“The money in the name of crop investment support is going into the bank accounts of middlemen, rather than the real beneficiaries. On the other hand, Rs 2,000 released by the Centre under the PM-Kisan scheme is directly transferred into the bank accounts of the farmers,” he said.

Referring to Amaravati capital city, GVL said there has been no real progress and Naidu was fooling the people with just graphics.

On Polavaram project, he said it was a completely central funded project but still Naidu was trying to take credit for the same.

No need for publicity for TRS ministers?

The report that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is planning to do away with appointment of public relations officers for the minister in his cabinet has triggered a wide debate in the media circles in the state.

It has been a common practice that every minister is entitled to appoint a public relations officer (PRO) to send regular press releases on the activities of the minister, his official programmes and decisions taken by his department to the media. Each PRO would be paid a remuneration of Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 per month.

These PROs help maintain a cordial relationship between the department and the media and ensure adequate media coverage to his official tours, press conferences etc.

They would also build up relationship between the ministers and their constituency people.

But, according to the media report, KCR has been given the impression that these PROs are misusing their position and indulging in making quick money through various corrupt activities such as land dealings, sand transactions and even taking commissions in contracts.

He was also told that some PROs are collecting big money from people to arrange meetings with the ministers.

So, this time, KCR has decided to do away with the system of PROs and all the publicity for the programmes taken up by ministers and their departments would hereafter be done through a centralized communications mechanism, which would be outsourced to a private agency.

Sources, however, said the real intention of KCR is not to prevent corruption but is something else.

“It is not correct to brand all the PROs as corrupt. May be there are two or three people who might have misused their position,” a source said.

According to sources, the actual reason behind KCR’s decision is that he does not want any minister to get highlighted in the media for his department’s progress or performance.

He does not want the credit to go to his ministers, but to him and his family members.

“If there is a centralized communication system in place of PROs, every press release or statement will come only from the CMO and the ministers would have to be just dummies,” a source said.

Thus, no minister will get publicity however hard he might work. Apparently, KCR was not happy with the way entire credit for the construction of Kaleshwaram project had gone not to him, but to his nephew and former irrigation minister T Harish Rao, because of the latter’s PROs.

Double iSmart, A Sequel To iSmart Shankar

Puri Jagannadh is super confident on his upcoming film with Ram, iSmart Shankar. The film is said to be a commercial entertainer with a very interesting characterisation of the lead man.

Puri is so very impressed with the storyline that he has already planned a sequel to it.

Puri and Charmi, producers of iSmart Shankar have registered Double iSmart title in the Film Chamber. Apparently, Ram would be playing the lead in the sequel too. However, Puri Jagan is not known for working on his sequel ideas.

Earlier he has announced that he will do sequels to Pokiri and Businessman, but those didn’t materialize till now.

Let’s see whether Puri is serious about iSmart Shankar sequel or not. A lot will depend on the performance of the original though.

Kotla Defers Plan To Join TDP: What’s Up?

Former Union minister Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy from Kurnool has postponed his plan to join the Telugu Desam Party along with his wife Kotla Sujathamma, former Dhone MLA, on February 28.

In fact, the Kotla group has made all the arrangements to hold a huge public meeting and decided to invite party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, in whose presence he was planning to join the TDP.

However, following a suggestion from Naidu in view of the political situation prevailing in the district, Kotla had to postpone the entry plans. According to latest reports, Kotla would be joining the TDP on March 2.

Party sources said the postponement of Kotla’s entry is linked to the marriage of K E Pratap’s son at Goa on February 28.

Pratap is the brother of Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy and in the In-charge of TDP party affairs in Dhone.

This would mean KE brothers would not be present in Kurnool when Kotla would be joining the TDP. Besides, Naidu would also be going to Goa to attend the wedding.

Naidu thought the absence of KE brothers at Kotla’s joining function might trigger unnecessary speculations in the media as well as party rank and file in the district and it might lead to differences.

It is an open secret that the families of KE and Kotla had traditional rivalry in the district. So, absence of KE brothers will send wrong signals to the people and that would ultimately affect the party prospects.

Naidu felt that it was necessary for the two families to be present at the event wherein Kotla would be formally inducted into the party.

So he advised Kotla to postpone the event to March 2.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is no new to controversies and she has been in headlines for quite some time now. Her latest flick Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has crossed Rs 100 crore mark worldwide.

Post the release of Manikarnika, director Krish and Kangana had an ugly brawl when the actress said that she has directed 70 per cent of the film and not Krish. Now once again, Kangana trolled Krish on NTR’s biopic debacle. She criticized him by saying that the movie NTR Mahanayakudu did not go well and it will affect the actor’s career leaving a black mark. She also said that her heart goes out to Balakrishna who trusted Krish and put so much effort.

She added that Krish and few others have run a sabotage campaign against a martyr’s biopic and it disgusted her to know this as our freedom fighters sacrificed so much for some heartless fools.

Recently we have revealed that Kajal Agarwal is all set to start her maiden production venture under the banner Kajal Agarwal Films. However, some advice from industry bigwigs are said to have stunned her.

Though heroines in Bollywood have tasted success when they turned as producers, the likes of Juhi Chawla to Sonam Kapoor for example, somehow those heroines in Tollywood including that of Savitri, Vijayasanthi and others failed to get huge successes. Talking about the same, we hear that some noted producers explained a logic to Kajal.

Right now, Kajal is taking home almost 1.75 crores after GST and she is doing almost 2-3 films in a year. A bizarre enquiry from the AP & Telangana Governor E.S.L Narasimhan’s office has surprised the management of Andhra University. Apparently, the Governor’s office enquired about why the University management has denied permission for Prime Minister’s meeting on the varsity grounds after the state BJP leaders applied for it.

After BJP leader Vishnu Kumar Raju submitted an application to the Governor’s office, a reply from the varsity management was sought. It is believed that the Andhra University management has denied the permission because it is a political party meeting. “Had it been a government function, the university would have granted it. But it is a political party meeting. APSCHE order clearly states that no permission can be given to religious or political meetings,” said University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nageswara Rao.

However, Andhra Pradesh BJP leaders state that the Telugu Desam government has ensured that the permission is not granted for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting and hence, they are doing this. However, political circles have been surprised as to why the Governor had to involve in such a matter which is for the state to deal with.

Jagan’s Gruhapravesam on Feb 27th

YSR Congress party chief YS Jagan’s new residence’s house warming in Guntur district Thadepalli is confirmed on February 27th. On the same date, YSRCP’s office will be inaugurated as well.

YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy has extended the invitation to all YSRCP MPs, MLA, MLCs and other important leaders. However, only Jagan’s family members are given invitation for the house warming while no family members will take part in the party office inauguration.

Around 10 AM, the house warming ceremony is scheduled followed by party office’s opening. Jagan is currently in London trip to meet his daughter. He will return to Hyderabad on February 26th and TDP MLAs Gowru Charitha Reddy and Modugula Venugopal Reddy are expected to meet him.

Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan is touring Kurnool district. On Sunday he addressed a public meeting held at the famous Kondareddy Buruju and made some interesting comments on TDP Rajya Sabha MP TG Venkatesh.

“Many a time TDP MP TG Venkatesh criticised me and made fun of me. But I never countered him. There is a reason behind it,” said Pawan. He went on to add that his first three films ran for 100 days in TG’s theatres in Kurnool district and the TDP MP had offered accommodation for a day back then.

“I also made things easy for him to go to Rajya Sabha. Tungabhadra River is getting polluted because of industries that belong to TG. I will convince him and try to ensure that the river doesn’t get polluted further,” added Pawan.

Sometime back Pawan came down heavily on TG for making a statement in the media that TDP and Jana Sena will join hands ahead of the elections. Pawan was quick enough to clarify things and lashed out at TG for his comments. Later TG said that it was only his thought that TDP and Jana Sena should go for a poll pact.
