TMC, BJD’s shocker to KCR’s Federal Front?

In what could be recorded as their first reaction opposing the Modi government and the BJP, Trinamool Congress and Biju Janata Dal have protested against the Rafale deal in the Lok Sabha today, indicating their dismay towards the NDA.

During Congress President Rahul Gandhi and BJP’s Arun Jaitley war of words in the Parliament over the Rafale deal, MPs from TMC and BJD protested against the Modi’s government’s response and sang in chorus with the Congress’ demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the deal.

Political circles are rife with rumours that this could be an indication that the Trinamool Congress and the Biju Janata Dal are leaning towards the anti-BJP front led by TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu. Amidst a political scenario where TRS Chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been upbeat about forming a Federal Front of regional parties against the BJP and has met Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and West Bengal CM Mamatha Banerjee, this move by BJD and TMC MPs in Lok Sabha comes as a shocker to KCR.

On the other hand, the TDP could use this as a huge advantage for the anti-BJP Front and get more mileage out of both the parties in proving that both they are working in favour of the Front and have their support. If this turns out to be true, then KCR’s hope of leading the Federal Front could become water under the bridge and simultaneously, prove to be disadvantageous for the BJP.

Sabbam Hari to Announce Political Entry

Former MP Sabbam Hari, who was earlier with Congress, has announced that he will be back to Andhra Pradesh politics very soon. In an interview with a TV channel, Hari said that he will be making an announcement sometime this week. If political rumours are to go by, it is believed that Hari may join Telugu Desam Party (TDP) given his constant and unperturbed support for TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu ever since bifurcation.

BJP leaders in Delhi and even GVL Narasimha Rao are rejoicing KCR’s win, he said, stating that it is a shame that they want AP to lose out. ‘It is very clear that they hate Andhra Pradesh. BJP has lost deposit in Telangana except for one person, Raja Singh. Modi and Amit Shah have struggled a lot to make TRS win. They are feeling happy about KCR’s win in Telangana but they are not addressing the problems of BJP cadre and senior leaders who lost their seats. And, Congress is the main opposition party. Why are they simply claiming that they won against Chandrababu? That is why the country believes that Modi and his team are practising vendetta politics,’ Hari mentioned.

He added that Chandrababu Naidu is the first regional leader to oppose the Modi government upfront and go against him, despite having had an alliance. ‘It requires a lot of guts to go against a Prime Minister whose party won a majority,’ said Hari, indicating that people of Andhra Pradesh will reject BJP completely.

Pawan Kalyan who has been singing an anti-TDP pitch for so long may actually tie-up with the Yellow Party. ‘No one can stop Chandrababu’s victory in Andhra Pradesh,’ he said, adding that people are observing the development works done by the government and hence, will choose him once again for the future of AP.

Those in power in Andhra indulging in scams: Modi

Visakhapatnam/New Delhi: In his first direct attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said those in power in the state were indulging in scams.

Without naming Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president, Modi said they were busy outside the state for forging alliance as they knew that the ground in Andhra Pradesh had shifted and they were going to be defeated in coming elections.

During a video-conference with booth-level workers of BJP from four Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh, Modi said the state was looking for a change as the people were deeply angry with the present political leadership.

Stating that people have not forgotten the manner in which Congress divided Andhra Pradesh, Modi said by joining hands with Congress, those in power in the state have rubbed salt into the wounds of the people. A

“What happened to this grand alliance in Telangana? They were totally rejected by the people and same is going to happen in Andhra Pradesh,” said Modi referring to the defeat of Congress-led alliance in the last month’s Assembly elections in Telangana.

“Those in power in Andhra Pradesh have not remained committed to their ideology. Can we expect them to be committed to people,” he asked and pointed out that N.T.Rama Rao had founded TDP to protect the interests of Telugu people and to safeguard the Telugu pride.

This was the first time that Modi launched a direct attack on the TDP chief since the latter pulled out of his government at the Centre in March last year, accusing it of not fulfilling the promise to accord special category status to the state.

The BJP leader trained the guns on Naidu even as the latter continues his tirade against him.

Claiming that the Centre remained fully committed for the welfare of people of Andhra Pradesh, Modi said those sitting in the government in the state will have to account for every single paisa.

He asked BJP workers to counter the false propaganda being spread by the state government about the Centre by communicating truth to the people.

Stating that close to 20,000 crore was released to the state as resource gap and revenue deficit funding, Modi asked where the money meant for the welfare of the people had gone.

He said Rs.1,000 crore was released for backward districts but the state government was not able to provide timely utilization certificate.

“Polavaram irrigation project was declared as national project. We have so far released around Rs.7,000 crore. The state government was keen to be the executor of the work. We also accepted that. If CAG reports are to be believed they also turned out to be inefficient in executing the work. Why are they unable to execute the project properly,” he asked.

Modi said the Centre sanctioned and started 10 educational institutions of national importance including AIIMS, IIT, IIM, NIT, IIIT and Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy in the state.

Will Venky Step Into NTR’s Shoes?

Star Maa is yet to find a permanent solution for the hosting problems of their super hit reality show Bigg Boss.First two seasons of Bigg Boss were super successful with NTR setting the tone for it as the host of inaugural season.

Nani as the season 2’s host also had done fairly decent job, but couldn’t match up with the energy levels of NTR Junior.Besides that season 2 was a controversial one with things going out of control in the initial stages itself.

Nani was on the receiving end many a time as the public targeted him for the happenings beyond his control.Despite the criticism and controversies, Nani somehow managed to finish the season, but later announced that he won’t be hosting Bigg Boss again.

At this juncture, Star Maa is looking for a star who could take it forward. NTR will not be returning back as he will be busy filming for RRR directed by Rajamouli. Therefore, Star Maa is looking for other options available.

Venkatesh is being considered for his stardom, seniority and sense of humor. However, Star Maa is yet to discuss the deal with Venkatesh.Although Venkatesh is capable enough to run the show, we don’t know if he is willing to host it taking Nani’s experience into consideration.

Where Has Money Gone, Mr Naidu?

It looks like Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to give up his silence over the allegations being made by Telugu Desam Party chief and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and launch a direct attack on him.

He sent his first signals of his aggression when he made a mild attack on Naidu during an interview with a national news agency.He said the TDP was feeling insecure and hence was making allegations against the Centre.

On Wednesday, Modi stepped up attack on Naidu during a video conference with party cadres of Visakhapatnam parliamentary constituency.He said the Central government had so far released Rs 20,000 cr as grant to AP to offset the revenue deficit and bridge resource gap.

“But Naidu says there was no assistance from the Centre at all. If the money has not reached the state government, where has it gone? Whose pockets did the money go into?” Modi asked.He alleged that the TDP government was misusing the institutions of the state to spread false news.

He said the state government so far had received Rs 7000cr for Polavaram project. He cited a CAG report which spoke of AP being unable to take up the project efficiently.

“As mentioned in the AP reorganization Act, 10 national level institutions was set up in Andhra Pradesh. It is first time in the history that a state has received so many institutions. TDP and Congress have been in power for many years. Why couldn’t they establish such institutions before? Did any National party did as much as BJP did for AP?” he asked.

Stating that the BJP had done a lot for AP, Modi said it would keep contributing to the state in the future also.

“All the promises made will be implemented. But the money received by the government must be spent of the declared purpose only,” he said.

What Is Varun Teja’s Range?

What is Varun Tej’s market as a solo hero? 2018 has proved that he hardly commands great openings.Last year, Varun Tej released two movies “Tholi Prema” and “Antariksham” and both have given clear picture about his “range” as a star.

The former is considered as a success by trade pundts but it went to collect just Rs 18 Cr from the theatrical revenue. The latter was a dud and it got just Rs 7 Cr from theatricals.

With these two movies, he made it clear that his films get minimum of Rs 6-7 Cr collections even if they fail and he has an average market of Rs 20 Cr market (if it becomes a hit talk).

So, producing a film with more than Rs 20 Cr budget with Varun Tej is like inviting risk.

Barring ‘Fida’ (such blockbusters happen rarely), he has not able to attract the mass audiences. His core base still is urban audiences.

Pawan Kalyan Keeps Mum on Social Media

Pawan Kalyan is often criticized as Twitter politician. At one time, he used Twitter as his main mode of communication with people.

Through this platform, he shared his opinions on various topics related to Andhra politics, he also had attacked the political parties on Twitter.

Only after media and politicians slammed him as Twitter star that he came out and had started touring in AP and is now interacting with public regularly.

However, he didn’t stop using Twitter to talk about any rumors or news about his party. Strangely, he is maintaining complete silence on the recent developments.

The other day, TDP Chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu made subtle hints that his party might have tie-up with Jana Sena in the ensuing Assembly polls.

His statements were widely discussed on social media and even mainstream media covered the news. Yet, Pawan Kalyan has not condemned the reports. Nor he responded on them on social media.

His last tweet made was on December 24 when the Election Commission of India had allotted glass tumbler as party symbol for Jana Sena. He had not even tweeted New Year wishes.

Even though he is back from his European tour and is currently staying in AP, he is maintaining silence and no activity on his Twitter timeline is found. What is happening?

This strategic silence also gives credence to the theory that both TDP and Jana Sena are currently holding backroom discussions for pre-poll alliance.

Pawan Kalyan had campaigned for TDP and BJP in 2014 polls but he showed aspirations to strengthen his Jana Sena party.

After the debacle of “Agnyaathavaasi”, Pawan Kalyan stopped doing films and has solely focused on his party activities.

When speculations were rife that he is holding discussions with YCP for alliance, he tweeted categorically that his party will contest the polls alone. No alliance with any parties, he stated. But now he is keeping mum on the reports about TDP- Jana Sena silence.

We Don’t Trust You, Babu!

Starting Thursday, the YSR Congress party will kick start yet another innovative campaign for five days exposing the false promises made by Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The campaign “Ninnu Nammam Babu” (We don’t trust you Babu) will be launched across all the 175 assembly constituencies in the State.

The campaign is part of the ongoing Praja Sankalpa Yatra lead by YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy which is scheduled to culminate on January 9, at Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district.

All the 175 assembly coordinators across the State will highlight the failures of Chandra Babu Naidu in their respective constituencies and villages. They will conduct meetings with the party cadre, followed by holding public meeting in every village.

In five days, they will cover 1700 villages highlighting the mistrust by public on Naidu and his government.

While assembly constituency coordinators will drive the campaign, booth committee In-charge, and mandal unit functionaries will take part in the Ninnu Nammam Babu campaign.

They will project the failures and fake promises of Naidu in the past during the public address.

Condemning the injustice done to the people, the party leaders will unite public against Naidu and take the message across length and breadth of the state.
