2 Movies To Shield Geetha Govindam Profits?
The blockbuster success of Geetha Govindham, featuring Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmitka Mandana, has earned a massive moolah for Geetha Arts. Made on a small budget of 10 Crores, this youthful entertainer has fetched 40-50 Cr profits for Geetha Arts banner. But, the makers of the film are very much tightlipped about box-office numbers.
According to trade analysts, the film might have made a record gross of 100 Cr and the share is estimated around 60+ Crores. Still the film, which’s in fourth week, looks unstoppable at the box-office. Given that Geetha Arts has directly released this film in most of the regions, the profits are considerably high. On top of it, dubbing rights, satellite rights and remake rights are generating phenomenal returns for the ace producer Allu Aravind.
Right after the wide success of Geetha Govindham, everyone assumed that Allu Aravind come with a bigger movie. But, surprising all, Geetha Arts bagged the theatrical rights of a small film ‘Paper Boy’. Due to lack of promotions supported by the negative talk after release, the film totally vanished without a trace. But, Geetha Arts is said to be least bothered about it. Why? Read on..
As per the Film Nagar talk, it’s a master plan by Geetha Arts team to skip the tax payment on large profits earned with the success of Geetha Govindham. The plan to hire ‘Paper Boy’ is project the net loss suffered on it. Geetha Arts taking up other small film ‘Ee Maya Peremito’ has added more weight to such speculations.
Ee Maya Peremito, featuring fight master Vijay’s son Rahul, has been facing release issues from a long time and Geetha Arts getting hands on it has called for a huge discussion in the industry.
Congress extends friendly hand to TDP!
It is now official. The Congress party has officially extended a friendly hand to the Telugu Desam Party for an alliance in Telangana for the forthcoming assembly elections.Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy said there would be alliances with the TDP. “We shall work out it soon,” he said, after the PCC executive committee meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday.
The PCC constituted a three-member committee comprising A Revanth Reddy, Madhu Yashki Goud and Bosu Babu to negotiate with the TDP.Since Revanth was in TDP till recently and is still considered to be a plant of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu in the Congress, the alliance talks could be smoother, sources said.Soon after the dissolution of the Telangana assembly by chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, sounding the bugle for early elections, Telangana TDP leaders rushed to Amaravati to hold talks with Naidu.
He told them that the party would consider it once there was any such proposal from the Congress party.In any case, the TDP chief said he was coming to Hyderabad on Saturday, where he would continue the discussions and take a call on the alliances with the Congress party.The PCC executive committee meeting extensively discussed the strategy for forging an alliance with the TDP.
There was some opposition within the party on the ground that it might trigger unrest among the ticket aspirants, if some seats are allocated to the TDP.They asked PCC chief to take all such situations into consideration before deciding on alliances.In fact, Uttam had already held talks with state TDP president L Ramana and others in the presence of senior leaders in Hyderabad on Wednesday night. “The talks remained inconclusive,” sources said.
What Deverakonda aiming With ‘NOTA’?
In a blink of couple of years, Vijay Deverakonda has attained huge stardom and as his popularity is spreading like wildfire, he is foraying into the Tamil film industry. ‘NOTA’ is the first bilingual of Vijay and surprisingly he opted for a genre which is quite serious in nature especially the youth and family audiences may not like it much.
Politics is a bit complicated subject and entertainment factor plays a very minor role in such films. But it has high chances of getting commercial audience appreciation if the content is good enough. Seems like, Vijay Deverakonda is testing himself by doing this genre and guess what he will be seen as young chief minister. The trailer gave us a glimpse of what it is going to be like.
If ‘NOTA’ can make half of what ‘Geetha Govindam’ has collected at the box office, then we can call Vijay Deverakonda a ‘minimum guarantee hero’ a tag that keeps the producers and distributors in safe zone.
Pooja Took Private Jet For NTR!
Actress Pooja Hegde is currently on song with handful of offers in Tollywood. A lead actress with Mahesh Babu in ‘Maharshi’ and NTR’s ‘Arvinda Sametha’ and she is also pairing with Prabhas in a movie that is being directed by Jil fame Radhakrishna. So, Pooja is having hectic schedule managing the call sheets to attend the sets for shooting these films.
This apart, she is also lucky enough to get offers from the Bollywood. She had already signed a project in the movie starring Akshay Kumar. The shooting is currently being held in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer.Following the sad demise of Jr NTR’s father – Nandamuri Harikrishna in a road mishap, much of the shooting has been disrupted back in Hyderabad. However, NTR returned to the sets without taking much time following the loss of his father.
But for Pooja, shuttling between Jaisalmer and Hyderabad has become too difficult for her due to less frequency of flights between both the cities. Subsequently, she has chosen to travel in private aircraft to Jaisalmer. Private planes are not allowed in military areas. However, it is learnt that it being managed by the production team.
EC raps KCR for seeking early polls!
In a rude shock to Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Election Commission of India described his eagerness to push for early elections in the state as “preposterous.”Chief Election Commissioner O P Rawat expressed displeasure over KCR pitching for early assembly elections in the state.
On Thursday, KCR’s cabinet resolved to dissolve the state assembly and it was accepted by Governor E S L Narasimhan.Later, KCR said he had already held talks with the Election Commission authorities and got it confirmed that the elections to the Telangana assembly would be held in November/December.”KCR’s comments on elections are preposterous and uncalled for,” Rawat said. Apparently, the EC felt that the TRS chief was trying to bulldoze the opinion of the EC.
Following a direction from the EC, chief electoral officer Rajath Kumar held a meeting with district collectors in regard to advancing polls in the state.”We have informed CEC after the governor agreed for the dissolution of assembly in the state,” he said adding that they have nationwide election schedule.
He said that the election date will be announced only after finalising the voters’ list.
