RX100 hero pay touches the moon!

Share

All it takes is one proper hit and a hero, heroine and director of that particular film become overnight stars and accordingly their pay cheques swell too. This is not new thing in the industry and this trend repeated once again.

With the super success of ‘RX100,’ hero Kartikeya Reddy is knocked by a couple of producers to cast in their respective upcoming projects. But to their shocking Kartikeya has reportedly quoted a sum of Rs 1 crore per film. The eight digit remuneration demand has made the producers to give a second thought about casting the ‘RX100’ protagonist.

Hero Kartikeya has produced his first two films i.e, ‘Prematho Mee Karthik’ and ‘RX100.’ The first film vanished with no trace at the box office while the second registered some unbelievable numbers.

T Elections By Year-End? Poll Panel To Decide Today

Share

Whether Telangana can go for early elections will be discussed today by the Election Commission as it meets a day after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao declared that the state assembly would be dissolved to facilitate polls eight months before schedule. The Election Commission will examine the possibility of Telangana voting for a new assembly by December – along with Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, which are scheduled to vote this year.

The top election body meets every Tuesday and Friday for discussions and Telangana is likely to come up in today’s meeting, a senior official said.”Issues like festivals, examinations and weather conditions will be discussed before arriving at a final conclusion,” the official said on the possibility of Telangana polls at the end of this year.

The term of the Telangana assembly was originally till June 2019 but the state’s ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti of Chief Minister Rao, or KCR as he is popularly known, reportedly wants to avoid a clash with the national election due next year.KCR yesterday called a cabinet meeting before announcing his widely-anticipated decision to dissolve the assembly and call for early polls.

While Mr Rao cited “political fragility” in the state as a reason for wanting early polls, sources close to him say he wants to ensure that the focus during the state polls is on his role and his government’s achievements, rather than on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.KCR yesterday called a cabinet meeting before announcing his widely-anticipated decision to dissolve the assembly and call for early polls. He had reportedly also consulted the Election Commission.

Elections must be held in a state within six months of the assembly being dissolved. The BJP claims KCR believes he has a better chance to win before the state gets caught up in the campaign for the general elections.

KCR Cuts A Sorry Figure!

Share

The reason given by KCR for dissolving the Assembly and going in for early polls is ludicrous. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief alleged that political fragility created in the State by false and baseless allegations by the opposition against his government was the reason why he decided to go in for early polls. He said that despite his repeated appeals, the opposition failed to prove even a single allegation of corruption.

He defended the decision for early dissolution of the house, saying it was taken for the ‘bright future of Telangana’.“Let people take a call. Why should anybody else? I sacrificed my (full) term for the sake of the people of Telangana, to maintain steady growth of the state and to protect the state from bloody fragility.”When the people of Telangana have given him an absolute majority in the House, what political fragility is he talking about?

It is the duty of the Opposition parties to pull up the government for its decisions and that is part and parcel of democracy. Will anybody dissolve the Assembly because the Opposition is levelling charges against the ruling party? Ok, let’s assume that KCR wins the polls again. Will the Opposition then stop making allegations? No, it is their job to question the government and for the latter to prove them wrong. Will KCR again dissolve the Assembly after 2019 if the Opposition continues with their duty?

He says he has sacrificed his full term as Chief Minister. If it hadn’t been for the fact that he is acting this way on the advice of his astrologer, the reasons being given by KCR are really stupid indeed. He has sacrificed his remaining term for his son KTR’s future and not with any welfare motive in mind and because of his idiocy, the new State which is hardly four years old will now be witnessing rule by the Centre or Governor. Not a good precedent to set at all. Had it not been for the fact that the Oposition lacks a charismatic leader, this move would have been nothing short of political suicide.

Upper Caste Headache For The BJP

Share

The BJP is finding it increasingly tough to strike a balance between the upper castes and the Dalits. The SC/ST bill was nullified by the Supreme Court in March this year. The apex court had banned immediate arrest of a person accused of insulting or injuring a Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe member and also given the accused person, the right to anticipatory bail.Following this judgement, there was a huge uproar across the nation by Dalit groups and the clamor increased or an ordinance to bypass this judgement of the Supreme Court.

The BJP on the back foot and portrayed as anti-Dalit had to get the ordinance passed in Parliament restoring the original provisions of the SC/ST Act. This has especially angered the primary support base of the BJP: Brahmins, Vaishyas and Kshatriyas, the upper castes of the nation. These communities allege that the SC/ST Act is constantly being misused to put them in trouble, especially in the Hindi heartland. And in Madhya Pradesh, the High Court had given a ruling striking down reservations in promotion.

Out of political compulsion, the BJP-led government also backed the appeal against the ruling in the Supreme Court. This has led to the formation of a new political outfit of Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Vaishyas called SAPAK which has said it would contest all 230 Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh. These communities which constitute around 10% of the population can seriously dent the BJP’s chances of coming to power.

And this is a similar scenario being played out in various other States like Rajasthan where the upper castes are becoming increasingly miffed with the BJP for the latter’s overtures to the Dalits. So serious is the problem that a meeting of all BJP Chief Ministers was convened in Delhi recently to find a solution to appease the forward castes. This is going to be one hell of a juggling act for the BJP with a BC as the Prime Minister.
