The success of Ram Charan’s “Rangasthalam”, which was revenge drama set in 1980’s Godavari villages, has made filmmakers to think about this genre. Only difference is that it will be set in rural Telangana.

It remains to be seen whether Rajasekhar could pull off this role.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, a period drama based on the life of Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, was announced in 2017. Directed by Surender Reddy, the film stars Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles.

Can’t wait to watch it in the theaters,” Charan told mega fans during the 63rd birthday celebrations of Chiranjeevi.Ram Charan also added that he requested director Surender Reddy to release the teaser early so that fans would be happy.“There is so much time for the film to hit the screens. It may take another eight or ten months. It is too early to launch the teaser, but I want to see the excitement of fans after watching a glimpse of it,” he said.

Allu Arjun said that Sye Raa is his dream come true as he has been waiting to see Megastar Chiranjeevi in a epic, historic film of this scale.

While Geeta Govindam has created quite a storm and has proven the star power of Vijay Deverakonda, Goodachari has quietly entered the US Top 10 for Telugu movies in 2018.

Adivi Sesh’s content rich Spy film has steadily grossed $748,297, thereby matching the $748,787 of Naga Shaurya’s ‘Chalo’. It is important to note that ‘Goodachari’ is yet to report collections of several Independent theaters in USA and still has a week or two in its run. With this pace, ‘Goodachari’ might even place itself higher in the list when it touches USD 800K.

One million dollars for ‘Goodachari’ seems a long shot now due to the storm of ‘Geetha Govindam’. However, the overseas collections of ‘Goodachari’ are another example of content being king, especially because none of Adivi Sesh’s previous films have crossed USD 200k in the overseas market.
