Naidu’s Secretariat Leaks Again!
Amaravati, the so-called world class capital city of Andhra Pradesh, is back in the news for wrong reasons again.The heavy rains that have been battering the state, particularly Vijayawada and Amaravati areas exposed the chinks in the construction of the Interim Government Complex (IGC) at Velagapudi in Amaravathi on Monday.The offices of Human Resources Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Industries minister Amarnath Reddy located in the fourth block of the Secretariat witnessed continuous leakage of water from the roof.
The ceiling in their chambers came off leading to seepage of water. The false ceiling in the entire complex got damaged due to rain water seepage, obstructing the official work in the building.This is not the first time that the top-class construction of Amaravati was exposed. Last year, too, several buildings in the Velagapudi Secretariat complex got damaged due to heavy rains and the officials do take up temporary repair works every time it happens.
In June 2017, rain water seeped into some chambers including that of Leader of the Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and the corridors on June 7 through a PVC pipe which was carrying AC cables forcing the staff to put plastic buckets at the leakage points.The leakage turned into a political issue with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) alleging foul play by the YSR Congress leaders.The Opposition hit back attributing it to substandard work. Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao even ordered a CID enquiry.
The CID, which investigated the incident, suspects that the negligence of workers in not covering the pipeline properly might have resulted in the seepage.What is worse, the much dreaded Kondaveeti Vagu, a rivulet has also reached danger levels posing threat to inundation of Amaravati capital region. Irrigation officials are looking for alternative ways to divert the flood water.

Harish Rao accompanied by four other Ministers went to Kodangal and laid the foundation stones for government programmes which had already been launched in the past.The TRS then held a huge public meeting which was countered by Revanth Reddy with an even bigger meeting.If Harish Rao succeeds in getting Revanth Reddy defeated, for KCR, there will be no more Revanth Reddy headache in the Assembly.If Revanth Reddy wins, Harish Rao will be held responsible and there will be no more Harish Rao nuisance for KTR.

Kangana Takes Charge Of Manikarnika Direction
In her decade-long career, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has given many versatile and powerful performances.Kangana made her Hindi film debut with the 2006 film Gangster and has given superhits like Fashion, Queen and Tanu Weds Manu.The actress is now gearing up for her next release Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
A report in Mumbai Mirror reveals that the 31-year-old actress has taken charge of the remaining shoot schedule of the upcoming period drama.Kangana will be wearing the director’s hat for a few patchwork scenes as the film’s director Krish Jagarlamudi is busy shooting for the NTR biopic.
“Yes, there is some patchwork still to be completed and Krish has got busy with the NTR biopic. He is not to be blamed, Manikarnika is a period drama and such movies takes time. Kangana speaks to Krish over the phone almost every day to discuss the filming,” Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying.The source also said that the writer of the film Vijayendra Prasad and Prasoon Joshi who has penned the dialogue and lyrics are working closely with the Queen star to wrap up the film.
Last week, Krish unveiled the first poster Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi on his Twitter handle.In the poster Kangana, who portrays the role of Queen Lakshmibai in the film, can be seen on the war field, fighting her enemies with her son tied at the back.
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is slated to release on January 25, 2019.

No Buzz for Kona Venkat’s Latest
With ‘Geetha Govindam’ creating a rampage at the box-office, everyone is talking about Vijay Deverakonda and his movie only. The film is unlikely to end its run any time soon.When a universally accepted movie is running successfully in theaters, focus will not be shifted on to small movies that feature non-stars.
No wonder then that no one is concerned about discussing Kona Venkat produced “Neevevaro” starring Aadhi Pinishetty, Tapsee and Ritikha Singh, on social media. Added to this, the promotions for the movie in mainstream media are also weak.Writer-turned-producer Kona Venkat has developed a business formula wherein he brings the story idea and convinces the stars and makes other producers put in money.
He gets share in profits without any investment of money and his banner’s name also gets added to the film.He applied this formula successfully for films like “Geetanjali” and Nani’s “Ninnu Kori”. He has done the same for “Neevevaro”.Kona Venkat hoped that the names of Tapsee who is now popular in Bollwood and Aadhi Pinishetty who got huge name for “Rangasthalam” would bring enough craze. But it has failed to generate buzz around it.
Ex Minister and 4-Time MLA joins Pawan
Former Civil Supplies Minister and four-time MLA Gopala Krishna has met Pawan Kalyan and joined his political outfit Janasena. Gopala Krishna is the ex MLA of Kakinada city. He was former member of TDP who later joined YSRCP. He subsequently quit YCP and now joined Janasena for greener pastures.
Pawan has inducted Gopala Krishna into the party’s top political body PAC (Political Affairs Committee). Gopala Krishna has even attended the meeting of the PAC on Saturday that discussed on the formations of several political committees at district-level, constituency-level, Mandal-level and Panchayat-level. The PAC on Saturday has decided to host a meeting with the IT professionals of Janasena in Hyderabad that is likely to be held in September. The plan is to take inputs and services of the IT professionals to intensify their political propaganda.
Meanwhile, the PAC has also discussed on the party’s election manifesto for Andhra Pradesh. Although the main points of the manifesto was already released, the PAC decided to release a more detailed and in-depth manifesto. Earlier, the manifesto stated free LPG cylinders to housewives, Rs 2500 to Rs 3500 bank deposits to family in replacement of ration and 33 percent reservation to women in Legislative Assembly and Parliament. It further stated to increase 5 percent reservation to BCs, reservations to Kapus and inclusion of them into 9th schedule and a possible solution to SC categorisation.
YS Jagan makes donation to Kerala Floods
Andhra Pradesh opposition leader and YSR Congress Party Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday announced a financial assistance of Rs 1 Crore for the flood-hit Kerala state, on behalf of his party. The party will send the money to Kerala Chief Minister’s relief fund.
YS Jagan, on Saturday, took to Twitter saying: “The devastation caused by the #KeralaFloods is gut-wrenching. My thoughts & prayers are with the people of Kerala in these testing times. Urge the Central govt to provide all possible assistance to support relief & rehabilitation measures for people affected by this calamity.”
In wake of devastating floods and massive rainfall, the Telugu state governments also have come forward and contributed to our neighboring state. Apart from states and centre, the gulf countries like Gulf and Qatar also declared relief aids and asked to make contributions to Kerala. Hundreds of people have lost their life & thousands are stranding various parts of state.
‘Chiranjeevi Is 100 Times More Powerful Than Pawan’
Ever since Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan started attacking the TDP, several TDP leaders too have been retorting with fitting counters. TDP’s Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani is one such TDP leader who was one of Pawan’s targets. In a recent interview, Nani made several scathing comments against Pawan.
Nani said that Pawan is a weak person and that his brother Chiranjeevi is more powerful than Pawan. “I have observed both Pawan and Chiranjeevi very closely. Chiranjeevi is 100 times stronger than Pawan. Chiranjeevi is a sensitive person and one cannot question his integrity. Also, Chiru has more craze than Pawan,” said Nani.
Nani further said that Janasena will not win even a single seat in the 2019 general elections. “I have seen Praja Rajyam party from close quarters. Chiranjeevi, Pawan, Allu Arjun and Nagababu strived hard for PRP, but could only manage 18 seats in 2009. Pawan is very immature. Like Chiranjeevi, Pawan will also lose his own seat,” he said.
Nani also revealed that Chandrababu never wanted to distance himself from Pawan. “It was a do or die situation for TDP in 2014. That’s why we aligned with Pawan Kalyan. Chandrababu resolved all the issues raised by Pawan. But Pawan took a u-turn and started attacking Babu and Lokesh. Did Pawan join hands with the BJP?,” Nani questioned.

She is now the most-prefereable for medium budget films and wanted to catapult into movies of star heroes.
Liking the transition in Tollywood: Lavanya Tripathi
Actress Lavanya Tripathi said the Telugu film industry is currently in a good phase and she is liking the transition witnessing it.Lavanya has two films in hand and both of them are completely different from each other. They are Nikhil’s ‘Mudra’ and Varun Tej’s ‘Antariksham 9000 KMPH.’Speaking exclusively to GreatAndhra, Lavanya said, 2018 has been so far so good for me as she’s part of different genres.
Though not a fan of remakes, Lavanya said she liked the script of ‘Mudra’ as ample of changes were made to suit the taste of Telugu audience.“My role has equal importance with the protagonist and is very much connected. It’s a thriller, I’m doing it for the first time,” added Lavanya. Working with Nikhil is an absolute good experience, she quipped.When asked about her forthcoming ‘Antariksham’ Lavanya replied that it is great working with an amazing team who are determined to bring a space genre for the audience but she did not disclose her role or the details.
“Varun is obsessed with his work and it’s nice to be working with him for the second time,” stated the Dehradun beauty. Lavanya further said Telugu is her second home and at the same time, she is ready to explore the opportunities in different languages.
Sundeep Kishan Losing the Game?
Young actor Sundeep Kishan has attempted many genres and worked with different film-makers, but success has been eluding him.Earlier he used to come up with an average movie at least, but now he is totally being forgotten as all his recent movies were duds.
Adding salt to injury, his woes are continuing further as some of his movies are being completely shelved.Bollywood film-maker Kunal Kohli had directed a romantic drama with Sundeep Kishan and Tamannah in Telugu and Tamil, but the movie has no buyers.With no hope on the movie, Kunal Kohli has moved on and he has recently announced Bollywood movie “Ram Yug”.
Sundeep Kishan is trying his luck in Kollywood where he gets to play simple youngster roles that don’t give him star status.Actresses like Rakul and Regina who had worked with him went to become big stars but he has not yet tasted a major blockbuster other than small hit ‘Venkatadri Express’.
The competition is stiff among small heroes. So, it will be tough for him to get a good position.
