Non-BJP parties to meet on Dec 10: TDP chief

Share

Khammam (Telangana): A meeting of non-BJP parties will be held on December 10 to form a front against the BJP-led NDA, said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday.

Addressing an election rally along with Congress President Rahul Gandhi, he said the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Congress and other parties will meet to form the front against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Urging all non-BJP parties to join the proposed front, he asked Telangana’s ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and its ally Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) to spell out where they stand.

Terming the upcoming meeting as historic, Naidu said the TDP and Congress fought each other for 37 years but have now come together for the sake of the country and democracy.

Naidu, whose party pulled out of NDA in March, said the country suffered under Narendra Modi’s rule.

He alleged that democracy was under threat as all institutions like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED), Income Tax, Reserve Bank of India and even governor’s office were undermined.

Stating that demonetization failed to curb black money and ATMs and banks ran out of cash, the TDP chief blamed Modi for this situation. He also slammed Modi for not properly implementing Goods and Services Tax (GST) and said this affected economic growth.

Naidu voiced concern over growing intolerance in the country and said a sense of insecurity was created among Muslims and Dalits. “Political rivals are being raided for speaking against the government.”

The TDP chief told the gathering that he never opposed the formation of Telangana and rubbished allegations by TRS that he was working against the interests of Telangana.

He assured the people that he will always strive to work for the interests of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu wondered why TRS President and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was targeting him.

“I can’t understand this. Is it justified? What is the wrong I have done?”

Pointing out that the TRS chief began his political career in TDP, Naidu said without the TDP there would have been no KCR.

Recalling how he built ‘Cyberabad’, the information technology hub in Hyderabad, Naidu said Telangana had potential to be number one in the country.

He said Telangana had surplus budget and all the opportunities but during four years of TRS rule the state was burdened with huge debts.

TRS Is Nothing But Telangana RSS!

Congress president Rahul Gandhi seems to have realised that he has to bring some novelty in his speeches during the ongoing electioneering in Telangana, rather than making routine rhetoric.

So, he is coming out with at least some innovation every day to attract people. On Wednesday, Rahul described Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) as Telangana Rashtriya Sangh Parivar, as the latter had a secret understanding with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Addressing a meeting at Kodangal, the Congress president rejected Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s allegation that TRS was hand in glove with the Congress.

“In fact, the TRS has been supporting the NDA government in every occasion. It supported every single bill that the communal BJP has introduced in both the house of the Parliament. When we are fighting for the land acquisition bill, TRS helped Modi and there after all the bills. This is not TRS, but Telangana Rashtriya Sangh Parivar,” he said.

Rahul said that when he had confronted TRS MPs and asked them why they supported the bills introduced by BJP, they told him that KCR had asked them to do so.

“I want to know why KCR never said anything about Rafael deal, attacks on minorities and the weaker sections,” he asked.

The Congress president said there was clear wind of change in Telangana and said that the current wave would decimate TRS.

“This time the People‘s Front will come into power in Telangana,” he said.

He assured voters particularly the migrant labour, that the Congress led alliance will full the dreams of those who fought for Telangana.

Naidu Shouts Jai Telangana Slogan!

Share

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is notorious for changing his stand on any issue whenever it suits him politically, proved it once again at the Maha Kootami public meeting held at Khammam on Wednesday.

He made a desperate attempt to claim that he was not against Telangana formation and in fact, the new state was dearer to him.

“Telangana state has been my favourite place and the people here are closer to my heart,” he said.

And to everybody’s surprise, Naidu shouted slogans thrice: “Jai Telangana, Jai Telangana and Jai Telangana.”

He refuted the allegation levelled by TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao that the TDP had been conspiring to stall irrigation projects in Telangana.

“In fact, several irrigation projects took shape during my regime. Andhra Pradesh is a lower riparian state. How can my government stall the irrigation projects upstream? I only wanted that both the states should go by the Godavari and Krishna water tribunal recommendations, so that it would benefit people on either side,” he explained.

Naidu sought to gain sympathy of people by saying that he was being abused by KCR for no fault of him.

“What mistake have I committed? I leave it to wisdom. My culture comes in the way of me giving a retort to him,” he said.

He said the TDP was fighting for self-respect of the Telugu people.

“My only wish is that the Telugu people should remain united despite belonging to two states. I have no interest whatsoever in ruling Telangana,” he said.

Following the disastrous first two movies, Akhil took enough care to zero in on the script and director for his third film and finally chose to act under Tholi Prema director Venky Atluri’s direction. Mr Majnu is Akhil’s 3rd project.

Mr Majnu was supposed to release on December 21. However, the film was delayed as the makers are re-shooting a few scenes. There is a strong buzz that Mr Majnu will be releasing during the Republic Day weekend. Amidst this uncertainty and anticipation, Akhil turned PRO as he took to Twitter this morning and gave the much needed updates on Mr Majnu’s current status.

Kavacham Coming On Election Day

There were unconfirmed reports that hero Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas’ upcoming movie ‘Kavacham’ might not release as announced earlier on December 7th with the Telangana assembly elections falling on the same day.

Clarifying these things, the makers of ‘Kavacham’ have reiterated that the film will be releasing on December 7th. But it’s only Telangana state that is going for elections and it is as usual business in Andhra Pradesh.

Coming to ‘Kavacham’ this is said to be a thriller and hero Bellamkonda Sreenivas is essaying a cop for the first time. Though the teaser gave a routine mass appeal, we have to see what’s new in the film.

Newcomer Sreenivas Reddy Mamilla is directing the movie and as the release date is nearing we might expect the trailer and audio soon.

Kajal Aggarwal and Mehreen have played female leads and it’s a Thaman’s musical.

Pic: Ileana, Two Buttons Down

Ileana could not excite Telugu audience like before, as her chubby looks in Amar Akbar Antony hardly impressed anyone. The ‘hip beauty’ can no longer be called the same until she gets back to shape, but here is a magician who can show her as the most beautiful girl ever. That is her photographer-boyfriend Andrew Kneebone.

Here is the latest monochrome picture from Andrew Kneebone, and it is of Ileana’s flaunting off her hot side in a tight silk shirt, hot enough with two buttons down! Let us see if Ileana is signing more Telugu films and if we can see the hottest side again.

Legendary Actor’s Tweet On Sarkar Movie, Why Now?

Share

Last night, suddenly a tweet has come from legendary actor Kamal Hasaan and it is about Vijay’s recent blockbuster hit ‘Sarkaar’ movie. But one wonders what made the legend respond now with a tweet when he is silent during the peak of issue couple of weeks earlier.

‘Sarkar has been certified by CBFC. Yet Government dares to muffle the right of people to express. This is not a democracy. Fascism was defeated before, will be done again’, tweeted Kamal Haasan, in support of the film. Actually, Kamal extended his support to the film in November first week but later when AR Murugadoss escaped arrest, the legend went silent.

Reports are coming that actually Murugadoss, who has applied for anticipatory bail, has faced tough questions in Tamilnadu high court from the public prosecutor representing AIADMK government when the case came for hearing. The Government-lawyer is said to have asked Murugadoss to give a written statement confirming that he will not criticize government policies in his next films, for which the director said no.

After coming to know about these things, we hear that Kamal Haasan has responded on the fiasco yet again in this way. We have to say what AIADMK cadres will now say to him.

Truth is that Rashmika is not part of that film. The actress took to her social media site to reveal that she would love to be part of that movie, but that is not happening for the now. Though she hasn’t clarified if she is either offered that film or rejected it due to date clashes, she conveyed her love to Tamil fans saying that she will debut there soon.

Well, that is a sweet denial, but Tamil fans are waiting for her debut.

Cinema Glamour In Telangana Election Campaign

Share

After a long time, cinema glamour is yet again taking center stage in political campaigns. In the last two general elections, Telugu states saw, we have seen only some big stars making some ripples, but small stars are somewhat silent. And then, sentiments played a card in those elections.

Cut to Telangana election now, we’re seeing a plethora of cinema celebs joining the poll campaigns, while some are in the election fray too. The likes of Vijaya Shanti are trying to woo Telangana voters big time, while names like Babu Mohan and Venu Madhav are heard here and there. Though some of them are not contesting, they are at least promoting others.

And then we have the likes of NTR and Kalyanram to campaign in polls for their sister Nandamuri Suhasini. Then we have Balayya joining the campaign season in some parts of Telangana for a week. Then we have faded out hero Thottempudi Venu batting for Nama Nageswara Rao in Khammam. And then singer Madhu Priya is entertaining people from the campaign jeeps of Errabelli Dayakara Rao.

So we have to see how this cinema glamour helps the contestants turn the craze into votes, thereby winning the election.
