Prime Minister spoke with arrogance, says Chandrababu

Share

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with arrogance during the debate on no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha.Naidu, whose party had moved the no-confidence motion against the NDA government, said that Modi spoke as if Andhra Pradesh was not part of India.

“His arrogance was because he had the numbers,” said Naidu while terming the no-confidence motion as a fight between majority and morality. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief was talking to reporters after the defeat of the motion in the Parliament.Naidu alleged that the prime minister also spoke alightly’ and acheaply’. “By stating that I took u-turn he launched a political counter attack,” said Naidu.

On Modi’s comments that he had warned him that he was falling in the trap of YSR Congress, the TDP leader said the Prime Minister was doing injustice to the state for political mileage and resorting to blackmail. “It is unbecoming of a person holding the position of the Prime Minister to say such things,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the Prime Minister’s reply disappointed five crore people of the state and the entire country as they had hoped that he will show some repentance over no fulfilling the promises made to the state and correct his mistakes.Naidu also took strong exception to Modi’s remark that he was picking up fight with Telangana and recalled that even before bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh he had been calling for an amicable solution through talks.

Stating that Andhra Pradesh has been cheated again, Naidu appealed to people to stage protest demonstrations on Saturday. He claimed that for the first time a no-confidence motion moved by a regional party received support from several parties. He will be leaving for New Delhi on Saturday to thank the parties which supported the motion. Naidu said he would also tell the nation as to how the state was betrayed.

A Recurring Problem For Naga Chaitanya

Share

Savyasachi is one film that has generated a lot of curiosity before launch. Starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead, the film is directed by Chandoo Mondeti and has Madhavan in a pivotal role. But Savyasachi is getting delayed and there is uncertainty around the release date leading to loss of craze among fans.

Earlier also, his films Autonagar Surya and Sahasam Sawaasaga Saagipo were delayed quite a bit affecting the expectations on the projects.Besides, action films have never worked in the past for Naga Chaitanya, despite which he has placed his confidence in Chandoo Mondeti because of the latter’s ability.

While films do get delayed for every actor one time or the other because of reasons beyond their control, for it to happen regularly for an actor is not a good thing.

Naga Chaitanya would do well to address this problem.

Kamma Bhajana In Parliament

Share

There’s a beautiful saying in Telugu: Rameswaram Poyina, Saneeswaram Poledu!Galla Jaydev proved it once again in Parliament today by referring to films made by is fellow community members during a serious discussion on the injustice to AP.Narrating the story line of his brother-in-law Mahesh Babu’s film Bharat Ane Nenu of how an NRI comes back to India and becomes the CM on the premise that a man should keep his word failing which he is not a human being, Galla Jaydev asked Modi to honour his promises to Andhra Pradesh.

Then referring to Baahubali, he questioned whether the Centre would not at least give Andhra, the amount of money used to make the film. Was Jaydev in Parliament to speak on SCS or promote the films? Maybe, they are due for release on Amazon Prime. It was really absurd to see this Kamma Bhajana in Parliament. Meanwhile, Galla Jayadev and the TDP are being trolled on social media.

“Chandrababu Naidu made 600 promises in his election manifesto, has he not watched Bharat Ane Nenu, Galla?” is the trending question.Thankfully, Balakrishna was not there or he would have used some infamous dialogue from the adult film Arjun Reddy.

But looking at Jayadev Galla’s speech in Parliament today, one cannot help feel that Chandrababu Naidu has lost out on a golden opportunity today.

Lover Movie Review

Share

Director Aneesh Krishna won good name with his debut movie ‘Ala Ela’, a simple but effectively told romantic drama. When he teamed up with Raj Tarun for Dil Raju’s banner, movie lovers started having hopes on this combination.

Though the trailer didn’t seem promising, the makers claimed that it would appeal to all. So, does it?

Story:
Raj (Raj Tarun), a bike designer who modifies bikes, lives in Ananthapur with his brother (Rajeev Kanakala). He falls in love with a Malayalee nurse Charita (Riddhi Kumar) who works in a government hospital.

Charita finds that something fishy is happening at her hospital with blood and organ donor lists, this lands her in trouble.

How Raj rescues her and wins his love forms the story.

Artistes’ Performances:
Raj Tarun as a bike designer and a lover has played in his regular style. But he has tried to look different. There is nothing new in his acting here except mouthing dialogues in Rayalaseema accent occasionally. Riddhima Kumar as Malayali girl is beautiful and has done neat job.

Sachin Khedkar appears for brief moments, Ajay has outdated characterization and Rajeev Kanakala plays brother role in his typical manner.

Technical Excellence:
The film has good cinematography with cinematographer Sameer Reddy showing his form. He has shot locations of Ananthapur, Gandikota (Kadapa district) and Alleppy beautifully.

The film has music by different composers as each song is composed by a different music director and the songs are catchy. A music bit that keeps coming throughout is good.

Editing is okay. Artwork is decent. Production values are neat.

Highlights:
Cinematography and visuals
Couple of songs

Drawback:
Routine narration
Boring screenplay
Formulaic conflict

Analysis:
A hero living with his brother as his parents die in his childhood and treating his brother as father figure is such an outdated line. A hero falling for beauty and the beauty falling in trouble when she notices some illegal activity happening at her work place is even more formulaic line. Aneesh Krishna’s Raj Tarun starrer “Lover” is all about these two points.

First half of the movie drives on hero charmed by the Malayalee nurse and he trying all ways to impress her with ideas from his friends. Two good songs and many formulaic scenes later, the film comes to the interval point that heroine is going to land in trouble. The first half runs on predictable way and tests patience.

Post-interval, the film reveals the problem that heroine is facing and why ‘villain’ is after this heroine and other things. The reason why villain is after a small girl that heroine has kept in hiding lacks novelty. Thus both the first half and the second half doesn’t excite in any way though songs like “Chilipik Kala” and “Adbutham” make proceedings better to some point.

The hero’s occupation – bike designer – is effectively linked to the climax portions. But the conflict between hero and villain is not handled well.

The film lacks exciting moments. Riddhi Kumar’s innocent face, good songs and cinematography are worth talking about in this regular love story with formulaic scenes. To come out from his thick Godavari-accent, Raj Tarun has used Seema slang. He is looking good compared to his recent movies but this old plot doesn’t help him.

Overall, Raj Tarun’s “Lover” falls in the category of ‘been there, done that’. Except songs, the proceedings don’t connect with youth audiences. It’s a damp squib.

Bottom-line: Endha Chato!

Modi’s No-Confidence Motion Speech: Ignores TDP, Targets Congress

Share

After a dramatic day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his speech over the no-confidence motion introduced by the TDP in the Parliament. But Modi ignored the TDP and targeted the Congress in his counter attack. Amid loud protests by the TDP MPs, Modi started his speech, terming the no-confidence motion a “strength to the democracy”.

Modi requested all the house members to reject the no-confidence motion and stand by a government that was put in place after getting a full majority.

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi’ Jaadu Ki Jhappi and the amusing wink that followed, Modi said that he was surprised at Rahul Gandhi’s excitement to come and hug him. “What is the hurry? You should trust the people in a democracy,” Modi said, mocking Rahul Gandhi’s ambition to become the PM in 2019.

“Some people said that I can’t stand for at least 15 minutes. But here I am, standing and proud of my work. Remember, nobody can decide who should sir or stand, it’s the country that decides,” said Modi.
