BJP ropes in VHP to fix TDP on TTD issue
It appears Bharatiya Janata Party does not want to let Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu off so easily. The party sought to exploit the Hindu sentiments to create troubles for Naidu by making up the allegations of corruption in Tirumala temple administration and raking up the issue of missing jewellery through former head priest A V Ramana Deekshitulu.
Since Naidu has launched a counter-attack to defend himself, the BJP has now took a new route to attack Naidu. In its latest strategy, the BJP roped in Vishwa Hindu Parishad to fix the TDP on the TTD issue. On Sunday, the VHP held a closed-door meeting of Hindu religious leaders in Hyderabad to chalk out an action plan for agitating against the TDP government for unceremonious sacking of Ramana Deekshitulu.
A day-long brainstorming session of the VHP with Hindu seers decided agitate for delinking of the temple administration, including that of the Tirumala, from the government purview and entrust the same to the Dharmik Mandals. The meeting expressed concern over the retirement of priests, non-compliance of Agama rituals and management of the TTD jewellery. The meeting, attended by Hampi Seer Vidyaranya Swamy, Paripurnananda Swamy , Kamalananda Bharti Swamy and other prominent seers, felt that the Chandrababu Naidu government had failed to protect the sanctity of the temple.
“If the state government can’t protect the sanctity of the temple, then the Seers will have to lead the agitation and save the temple from the hands of the politicians,” the conclave declared. The seers said that they will come out with “Tirumala Declaration” on 9 June plotting the future course of action.
Why No Discussions On Star Heroes charity?
It’s funny to see that Telugu TV channels focus on the ‘bad’ that is existent in Film Industry but none cares about the ‘good’ side. Here is an interesting debate going on in social circles about how certain programs are never done.TV channels run special debates and shows when a woman accuses that film industry has exploited her. But the same news channels never run shows on how much charity film stars are doing. If airing a women’s viewpoint helps other women from not getting cheated, then holding special debates on charity will also inspire others to do the same, won’t they?
In the recent times, Mahesh Babu and Prakash Raj have done terrific work in the villages they have adapted. Allu Arjun has silently donated some money through Posani for the education of poor girls. Similarly many other heroes including Ram Charan, NTR and others are doing charity for a long time. But there are no debates to highlight what could anyone learn from these habits of star heroes.
Rather sulking in the negativity all the time, and airing spicy debates where the participants involved in personality bashing most of the time, why these positive things don’t get any attention, is the question here. Many feel that our media folks should come out of their TRP raking zone and showcase the good things as well.
Pics: Rajamouli Parties Till 4’o Clock In The Morning
Have you ever heard ace director SS Rajamouli partying and posting those pictures on his social media account? Post Baahubali, the director is interacting more with his fans and here goes an interesting story. Last night, director Vamsi Paidipally and Sukumar have thrown a party to their contemporary directors at the former’s house. And upon their insistence, none other than Rajamouli has turned up at the event and partied till the wee hours.
“With Vamshi and Sukku’s initiative, met at Vamshi’s place. Had a great gala time. Can never forget Shiva’s and Harish’s stories and oneliners. All of us were laughing till 4 in the morning” said Rajamouli, taking to his social media account.
Along with Rajamouli, others including Krish, Koratala Siva, Anil Ravipudi, Harish Shankar, Nag Ashwin and Sandeep Reddy Vanga attending this bash hosted by Vamsi and Sukku together. Some insiders revealed that these directors want to inculcate Bollywood like partying culture here in Telugu industry as well.
It’s too exciting to see such lovely creators all at one place!! Isn’t it?
Can Rajni’s Words Erase Kabaali Horror?
“It’s not good to praise my own film. But I’ve seen Kaala twice already and the film has come out really well” said Superstar Rajnikanth, other day at Kaala pre-release event that took place in Hyderabad. Unlike earlier, there is no mega guest in the event this time for Superstar.
Hitting Telugu people on the heart, Rajni made some comments like, Telugu people are the largest fanbase he has after Tamil audiences. He reiterated that he picked Tamil film industry because they launched him as the actor but has equal love for Telugu too. “Danush says that there is only one Rajnikanth. Of course, there is only one Chiranjeevi, one Nagarjuna, one Venkatesh and one Balakrishna. Everyone is unique in the league of their own and not replaceable” he commented.
All these comments are doing well but what is to be seen is, how far they will erase the horror of Kabaali that is fresh in the minds of Telugu audiences. Both trade circuits and audiences hoped big on that film directed by Pa.Ranjith, but it flopped big time. Now that Rajni is coming again with the same director, one wonders how the film is going to be like.
Rajni confirmed that the film is based on the lives of Asia’s biggest slum, Dharavi in Mumbai and it is a heart touching masala film. Let’s see!! Kaala is hitting cinemas on June 7th.
Even RSS is Keenly Debating About Dada
What former President Pranab Mukherjee will say in his speech at the passing out ceremony of RSS students in Nagpur on June 7 is a matter of keen interest for politicos and observers alike.
Traditionally, speeches of the chief guest and others during the function are a closed door affair like most of the RSS programmes, except for the Dussehra address by the sarsangchalak.
BJP and RSS functionaries are of the view that an exception should be made for Pranab da.Whatever RSS decides, chances are that a copy of his speech will be made public.
Manchu Vishnu to direct Manoj?
The Manchu family has been going through a tough time at the box-office of late, especially Manchu Manoj, who has been besotted with personal and professional problems.
The latest speculation now is that Manchu Vishnu is likely to direct his younger brother and that a major part of the film will be based in the US.Recently, Vishnu had directed a short film too regarding a social initiative and thereby expressed his intention of going behind the camera as well.
Let’s hope that in the best interests of their careers, this project does indeed materialise and that apart from giving Manoj, the much needed break, Vishnu will also showcase a new facet of his talent to Tollywood lovers.
‘Mahanati’ Keerthy Suresh Reduced To A Prop In Next
The trailer of the Vikram starrer “Saami Square” throws forward a disturbing patriarchal arrogance as Vikram, who is known to experiment with various kinds of roles, runs amok with his machismo.Never has this solid Tamil actor with a slew of prized performances to his credit, been seen to be so blatantly and crudely heroic in the most basic cinematic sense.
Rippling muscles, flaring nostrils, blaring dialogues… Playing a cop he snarls, he swears, he beats up his adversaries, and most macho of all, he treats his lady love like trash. This is Salman Khan’s “Dabangg” territory being invaded by the redoubtable Vikram. And the prime casualty of Vikram overweening machismo is the leading-lady Keerty Suresh.Just the other day gorgeous lady held centrestage in Mahanati. Now here in her first post-Mahanati release she is content being the secondary interest, the glamour prop, so to speak.
This is truly unfortunate. It just shows that the patriarchal mindset runs dangerously deep in Indian cinema. In Bollywood the female hero may rule in “Raazi” and “Veere Di Wedding”. But the kind of build-up and welcome given to Salman Khan in “Race 3” is unequalled by anything the ladies can do.One can see Vikram , a fine actor with a penchant for nuanced character construction, struggling to appear larger than life Saami Square(not to be confused with Saami Circle).
He screams for attention in bare-chested glory barely giving the other actors a chance to have a word edgewise. The worst casualty is Keerty , whom the audiences expect to see a lot more of after Mahanati than what Saami Square(what kind of a title is that?) is likely to offer. This is not what we expect from her. Or for that matter from Vikram whom we have come to associate with quality cinema in Tamil.
#Mahesh25 inspired from “The Motorcycle Diaries”?
There are various rumours surrounding the story of Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film, which happens to be his landmark 25th film. Being directed by Vamsi Paidipally, the film’s shooting will start from mid-June.
Earlier when reports surfaced that this movie is based on an Australian TV series written by a New Zealand writer, the director has tweeted that the film is neither remake or a free-make but an own story. However, a little birdie tells us that the hero’s characterisation is loosely based on the film “The Motorcycle Diaries”.
And you might have understood by now how the story is going to be like. Apparently, actor-politician Pawan Kalyan has many times spoke about how the life and times of revolutionary leader Che Guevara have inspired him a lot. He makes references to Guevera in his songs and looks too. “The Motorcycle Diaries” is nothing but the life story of this popular leader. We hear that Mahesh’s characterisation will be based on his persona.
With the shooting of #Mahesh25 most likely to start in a college, many believe that this story and characterisation is indeed true.
