Hot and struggling beauty, Catherine Tresa recently started picking some different types of roles both in Telugu and Tamil cinema. And the success of movies like Sarrainodu and Nene Raju Nene Mantri made her a sought after siren.

Reports have that after she missed out a chance to shake her waist alongside Megastar Chiranjeevi in Rathalu Rathalu song, mega hero Ram Charan is said to be giving her another opportunity. This time, she will be seen as a special guest in Charan’s upcoming film that will be directed Boyapati Sreenu. As the director also had a good impression on this Dubai based NRI, it’s heard that she is given a special role.

Currently, however, Catherine is in New York while Boyapati and Charan are headed to Bangkok. We hear that the dusky siren enrolled in a two-week course in popping-and-locking street-style dance at an expert choreographer. One wonders if these newly acquired skills are to be shown in Charan’s movie.

For the now, presence of Catherine in Boyapati’s film is neither denied nor confirmed by any. So we have to see what for our hottie is learning these crazy new dance moves.

Four movies and four hits. That’s the envious track record of Koratala Siva ever since he debuted as a director with Mirchi. His latest film ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ is inching closer to the 100 crore share club.

Koratala Siva was supposed to work with Ram Charan and a project was also announced sometime back. But it was shelved due to reasons unknown. And recently, there was a buzz that Siva’s next film will feature Allu Arjun. But there has been no official update on the movie.

Now, a source close to the development has revealed to us that Koratala Siva’s first mega project may feature none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi. Apparently, Siva has met Chiru recently and narrated a storyline. Impressed, Chiru is said to have asked him to develop it into a full fledged script.

Siva will be taking a break for the next 3 months. He will work on the script in the meantime, and we can expect some news regarding Kotatala Siva-Chiranjeevi combo sometime in the second half of this year.

Director Puri Jagannadh not only earned huge through movies but he had also lost a lot of money. On several occasions, Puri revealed that the people he had trusted cheated him and that he was even stuck in severe debts and went back to square one at one point.

But he revived himself again and earned back all the money and property he had lost, by making movies. But of late, there has been a buzz that Puri had to sell off his house to produce Mehbooba, the soon to release film which will launch Puri’s son Akash Puri as a hero. When he was asked about it during Mehbooba’s promotions, Puri has confirmed the buzz.

“Who will watch Akash if I make him a hero under another producer? People may wonder if audiences will come to watch my son. So, I took the risk. That’s why I had sold off one of my houses and made Mehbooba. I believe in my son and that’s why I have spent so much on him,” Puri said.

Puri went on to add that he has lost money and even earned it back once and that he is ready to do so even in future. “It’s not a big deal for me if I lose money as I can earn it back. I am always prepared to start from zero,” said Puri.

The super success of “Garudavega” has surely put senior hero Rajasekhar back on the map but that doesn’t mean he will trying a hand at those masala potboilers again. But he’s getting offers from other stars to play crucial roles in their movies.

Latest buzz doing rounds in film circles is that Rajasekhar will play the lead role in Aishwarya’s next. He will be seen romancing a star heroine under the direction of Rajnikanth’s daughter Aishwarya who is likely to direct her third film. After debacles like 3 and Vai Raja Vai, she took almost 2 years break and now getting ready for her next to be produced by husband Danush.

Reports have that Rajasekhar is the main lead in the movie while the film will have another hero and two heroines as well. Right now the makers and also Rajasekhar have remained tight-lipped about the project as they don’t want to reveal anything about it until the first look is ready.

That could be huge a game changer for Rajasekhar because a bilingual might help him strengthen his career in Tamil also. Though he got a couple of big hits in Tamil market, somehow the senior hero remained loyal to Telugu industry only. In the holiday season, always films rush to theatres in huge numbers. Owing to school going kids and college kids eagerly waiting for films, also employees getting holidays, the Summer season is one of the biggest time where films can flock in big numbers apart from Sankranthi and Dasara seasons.

While the previous Dasara and the following Sankranthi 2018 seasons haven’t showered luck on Tollywood big time, this Summer it is going to be massive. The season got opened grandly by Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam on March 30th, the start of the summer holidays season. The film has so far collected 200 crores from the box office (gross figures) and is still running big. If the numbers provided by producers are to be believed, Mahesh’s Bharat Anu Nenu amassed 190 crores already, while Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya also clocked 80+ crores. In all likelihood, these films collected 470 crores already and might add another double-digit in the month of May.

In the same month, we have other films like Chal Mohan Ranga, Krishnarjuna Yuddham, Mercury, Achari America Yaatra and Kanam also hitting cinemas. Though none of them succeeded heavily, they might have made 30+ crores cumulatively. Daring the hot sun and soaring winds, audiences found solace in watching these films, no matter what the talk is. That makes already Tollywood pocketing 500+ crores ‘gross’ in its bank accounts.

With only 30 days remaining for the holidays to come to an end, we have some interesting films like Mahanati, Mehbooba, Taxiwala, Nela Ticket, Officer, Na Nuvve and Jamba Lakidi Pamba hitting the cinemas. Even if they got average talk, this half dozen of films might amass around 100 crores gross. In all likelihood, Tollywood is going to laugh its way to the bank with around 600-650 crores money into its pocket.

Adding to this, the satellite sales of each film, digital and audio rights, and other dependent business are likely to make another 400 crores easily. It’s no exaggeration to say that Telugu Film Industry is doing around 1000 crores business only in Summer. Perhaps that is the reason why they can’t take the witch hunting of some TV channels and allegations of few celebs very easily.

Director Vakkantam Vamsi has this habit of picking some Hollywood films and removing certain parts out of them and then coming up with his own version of a ‘successful’ story. That happened many times and many of his stories including Oosaravelli and Yevadu have such direct reference to foreign films.

Coming to Naa Peru Surya, many age-old cinema lovers can’t stop themselves about the 2002 biographical drama “Antwone Fischer”. The film deals with the real life of US Navy sailor Antwone Fischer, how his abusive childhood led him to a violent guy and how his violent behaviour led to his sacking from the armed forces. Though he took sessions from a noted psychiatrist, he’s never back in the army and ended up as a screenwriter. The film did considerably well at USA box office.

You might feel shocking, but the story of Naa Peru Surya is also pretty much same. However, the ever-clever Telugu writers team chopped out the abusive childhood part of the hero, as Telugu heroes will never get abused by any. That made audience clueless about why Surya character behaves so violently in the movie. In the original film that might have inspired Vakkantam, hero’s target is all about finding his true parents after his psychiatrist advises him to do so. But here in NPS, the physiatrist himself turned his father.

At the same time, the real Antwone Fischer worked as security guard at Sony Films after getting sacked from army though he took classes from a psychiatrist for his behaviour. Later he wrote his own biography and became co-producer (nominated) for “Antwone Fischer” and then he went on writing books, screenplays and films. But in “Naa Peru Surya”, the hero wishes to go back to the army as if ‘court marshall’ is a small thing and suspension is nothing. Well, that’s the Telugu hero effect and it didn’t work bro!!

In the end, Vakkantam might say that Antwone Fischer has got nothing to do with his story, but people are already watching that old American movie to get their doubts cleared.
